Every day we are bombarded with negative news and rarely is anything that makes you feel good about life published in the media. This is a refreshing change of pace and reminds me that there is a lot of good in the world. Good news on the state of humanity is a great way to end 2015.  This is a slightly longer read, but well worth it.

11 Reasons Why 2015 Was a Great Year For Humanity

We are living through the most astonishing period of human progress in history. And nobody’s telling us about it.

As 2015 draws to a close, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who’d claim that it’s been a good year for the human race. The bad news has been relentless: war in Syria, a refugee crisis in Turkey and Europe, earthquakes in Nepal, terrorist attacks in Paris, mass shootings in the US, floods in India. With the media screaming blue murder and social media feeds filled with complaints about how selfish/materialistic/shortsighted our fellow human beings are, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

You’d be wrong though.

Franklin Roosevelt once said, “the test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.” And if we apply that criteria to the world as a whole then 2015 was a very good year indeed. Here’s why.

1) We got a lot closer to global, universal education

2) Extreme poverty dropped below 10% — the lowest rate ever

3) More people got connected to the internet than ever before

4) Millions of people gained access to finance for the first time

5) AIDS deaths came down for the 15th year in a row

6) Malaria death rates are at an all time low

7) Polio is about to be eradicated forever

8 ) Fewer people went hungry this year than ever before

9) More people have access to clean water

10) Child mortality plunged for the 43rd year in a row

11) We reached a tipping point in the fight against climate change

I agree. We have come a long way, just in my lifetime. We are living at the greatest, most exciting time in history. The Internet, the Blockchain and Digital Currency will be the the catalyst for the biggest, most rapid advance for ALL mankind in our Human History. One of the best things about this is that the ones that it will help the most are the ones who needed the most help. This revolution will drastically close the gap between the "haves and the have nots".

Everyone is welcome, so please pass this on!

Great artwork and an excellent idea. Also for those who wanted to sign up for the CRISP For Kids savings plan but have not done so, this a great time to do it. Santa has been sighted to be packaging gifts of DNotes and special prizes to be given away to children on the list on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015. Don't miss it. Follow the link on CryptoMoms: http://cryptomoms.com/forum/cryptomoms-com/5/kids-with-a-cr-i-s-p/530

I seen Santa too! He was in a very jolly mood, and I am sure all the DNotes kids will be happy this year!

[Sigh]

Meanwhile, on Cryptsy . . .

changed the password on one of my Cr. accounts yesterday. Got the 'Yup. Done!' message. But now locked out. (No funds in it.)

78 wallets down at this second -- 2 less than yesterday.

But . . . just tried moving Dnotes on to and off Cryptsy. Wham! Three minutes each way.

It looks like their upgrade a few hours ago was successful. DNotes seemed to be working fine. Unfortunately, I still have not received two withdrawals at .1 BTC each sent to two separate accounts on 12/10/15. I am curious to know if anyone successfully withdrew BTC from Cryptsy the last 7 days.

Has anyone seen the new format/layout at the polo exchange!??! I am too damn old to learn new stuff I don't really need to learn!!

I'll give you a ring, I did notice they have a mobile site, that might be the one you are seeing.

Must be mobile, no difference here on the main site but, I agree, I don't like total reworks of a site, lots of wasted time to re-learn everything.

One of our guys is full of enthusiasm for this, Poloniex Mobile. His point -- I gotta find time to get more data -- is that more and more and more Net stuff is happening on 'mobiles.' Sigh: once again, I gotta scramble to catch up.

Mark

Turns out it was just the mobile site coming up instead of the desktop version. I use an iPad, so it defaulted to the mobile version. I just did not realize it until I talked to Joe. Freaked me out though! Thought I was gonna have to learn some stuff I did not need to have to learn again! Thanks again, Joe, for saving me from even more gray hair than I have now......

Hello, Nele. I am delighted to see you here. Please post this on CryptoMoms as well. I am very happy that your team has been making great progress. Though I am not a game player I can see that GMC is on the path to great success. GMC and Notes are among the most undervalued coins today but that is not stopping us from our missions to do the right things. Congratulations and stay the course. We are glad to be of help when we can.

Good to see you again, Nele! We need more "education programs". Great minds think alike. Alan's response hit a nerve with me:

Alan said: Though I am not a game player. When I read this I about spit my coffee out. My first thought was of Alan telling me about his 5 year old grankid trying to teach him how to play a game of some sorts. I can see Alan poring over spreadsheets at a desk. I have seen him in the garden working his ass off. He is a working MACHINE! I can vision him at a high level meeting. What I can't vision is Alan at play. Other than the grankids, I think his "play" is working!! (I may have described myself a little also, but at least I watch NFL Football and NASCAR).

Thank you very much everybody for responses - feel free to keep them coming.

I have just over 24 hours to get all the main points written down (at least) and hopefully rough script ironed out so that the video guys can plan shooting locations and shots based on the scripts content - but I have long shifts every day this week because it's Xmas season and that means busy!! Luckily Saturday is my last day (forever), and I can film any sunny day beyond that.

Correct language is important in marketing, so I will have a few days beyond this to made edits to the script.

** The Fed raised rates... patiently waits to see effect**

Let me know if you want me to take a look at any of the scripts. Always happy to make suggestions, though I'm not as familiar with "marketing language."

Hey Wiser, appreciate your support for the videos, are you interested in writing a couple articles for DCEBrief? Everyone loved your write ups on CryptoMoms.

Actually, I am, and have two in mind, but I just haven't written them yet. I also want to get back on CryptoMoms. I just had the craziest last few months. I keep thinking things will slow down... hopefully in time for Christmas LOL.

Looking forward to your articles! Glad to see ya back in DNotesLand.

This is AWESOME! Providing value beyond the coin itself is going to be what sets DNotes apart from the competition.

Thanks Wiser! Ultimately, this strategy will allow us to take DNotes much further and will allow DNotes to stand the test of time.

It is hitting the mainstream media now.

Thanks, guys. Crypto folk from several coins have reported difficulties, and I thought I'd just ask.

I use Cryptsy for 80% of my transactions. Other than being a little slow on some coins, the problem is one of "growing pains" They are still tweaking their new platform and delays are possible. This is normal for the industry, most code is custom and debugging is a never ending chore. Cryptsy has it's share of detractors and doomsayers in these forums but, they certainly appear to be solvent (my opinion of course) and they are not doing anything underhanded or illegal, that would be downright stupid. Folks need to remember, they are a US financial company located in Florida.

That puts them under the microscope much more than "fly-by-nights" in third world countries. It is truly a shame when the "pack mentality" decides to attack just because they enjoy watching others suffer. (not speaking about ANYONE here) So, if things are a little slow, it's not nefarious, its nature of the beast after a major upgrade.

Thank you, RJF. It's very helpful that you are able to share your experience with us. You have been around in our industry a lot longer than I have and I know that your comments are always objective, which is very helpful especially when there is a great deal of confusion in our industry due to "pack mentality" as you correctly pointed out.

I would characterize my experience with Cryptsy as frustrating and in some instances annoying and give their customer services and PR a failing grade. Sadly, Cryptsy is quite typical of many small businesses. They may be excellent in a number of things but totally failed to recognize the vital importance of other areas. The business world has been rapidly changing. It is becoming significant more competitive; there are many more options and choices, and many things are done in real time.

Among others, sales and customer acquisitions techniques are rapidly changing. Social media has forced public relation to be a key contributor of success or failure. Relationship and partnership with customers are becoming increasing more important. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Cryptsy does not seem to recognized any of these. As you know, we had high hopes on Cryptsy when we mounted our campaign to get listed there. I wish they can do better. They must change their mind-set and place a high value on their customers. Building a volume business is hard, but loosing it due to poor business practices - rebuilding is drastically harder.

Basically, I agree with you on all counts. They are a product of the coders and programmers world where customer service does not exist. Many tech startups have a very difficult time transitioning from "code mills" populated with programmers and designers to real life businesses that have to interface with people who do not understand the inner workings of technology but want to use it and, cannot be bothered by how elegant the code is, they just want their money's worth and they want it now.

I believe the key to success for these companies is to find customer support people who have worked in non technical support as well as technical support. The need folks with people skills which are even more important than folks with only tech skills.

Which would you rather be told? "It's not us, it's your old computer, you need to upgrade." or "I'm sorry you having a problem making that transfer. Can I ask you a few questions about your equipment? You may want to add some more memory or a faster Internet connection." Always engage people like they pay your salary, which, in essence, they do. The person on the other line of the second example will feel good about upgrading after all is said and done. In the first example, they will find another exchange that supports their old junk better.

It's all in the way you approach the public. After all, they don't know you, they don't know the boss or founder, all they is that it doesn't work and you don't want to help. Scratch one customer....

Reasonable people, expect and accept problems from time to time, arising from oversight, technical problems, and minor mistakes. Whether the issues are ignored or handled responsively make a world of difference. My experience has been that Cryptsy has more issues than others. In addition, they are not responsive or do not communicate at all. It gave me the feeling that "this is how we conduct business and how you feel about is not important to us." Every single customer is a valued customer. When one feels that his business is not valued and appreciated he will make the adjustment to look at other options and choices. This is so fundamental to business success but often ignored.

EXACTLY!! It is not if and when mistakes will happen. Mistakes WILL be made. It is how that mistake is addressed that makes the difference. The worst thing any company can do is ignore the problem. It will not go away, only fester. Coming from a business background, I was appalled at how most companies were being run in the crypto-currency world. (mostly the exchanges). I think there are many reasons for this, being formost is being a new, cutting edge industry, with few rules, and "not-your-normal-business-owners". As the industy matures, this will change drastically.

Thanks for the great write up Nick, you make a good point about people fearing the unknown. But in sharing your initial uncertainties, many people may be able to begin to understand that most of us in the industry today had our doubts when we started. I first thought Bitcoin was a ponzi scheme until I actually took the time to learn about it.

When Joe first suggested that I take a closer look at Bitcoin, my initial reaction was that I had heard about it, and that based on what I knew, I won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

We often react based on preconceived opinion, which often is based on what we knew at the time. By nature, most of us take things at face value, and do not question it, especially when we don't totally understanding the subject. Until we have acquired sufficient knowledge to be comfortable, there is always the fear of the unknown, especially if we started with a negative impression, so prevalent in our industry.

Bitcoin and digital currency is a very simple concept. It is money that can be used to purchase or exchange for something that we want. Our industry has created a great deal of confusion making early mass adaption highly unlikely. DNotesEDU is making a signification contribution in educating the masses.

Great job, Brandon. We truly appreciate your great efforts.
I had the same reservations about Bitcoin also. In fact, if I remember correctly, you and Joe worked on this for a while without my knowledge! From all the negative press at the time, I thought Bitcoin was for drug dealers and criminals. I know Joe spent some time "educating" you on Bitcoin, and it took a little time for me to really be on board also. In fact, the only reason I went along with it at first was because I respected you and Joe's opinion so much.
It kinda reminded me of how you convinced me to get into the daylily biz. Here we were, owning a fireplace shop for over 25 years, had 15 or 20 employees, and you WANTED TO SELL FLOWERS? I though you were nuts! We had no equipment, no knowledge of the biz, AND no daylilies! I still remember the day I "got it". You took me out to the warehouse, and pointed to a woodstove setting on a rack. You said, what if you bought that stove, and had a choice.....you could sell it now, and have no more stoves on the rack. OR....you could leave it set on the shelf, and in one year, there would be 2 to 5 stoves setting on the shelf!! Then, I could sell 2 or 3 of them, and have 5 or 10 stoves setting there the next year. The light bulb went off. If I paid 1000 dollars for a stove, I usually sold it for about 1400 dollars. If I bought 1000 dollars worth of daylilies, I could sell that daylily FOREVER, and never buy that particular cultivar again! I got it right away.......40% gross profit VS 99% gross profit. (that is what really sold me on it).
We sold our first daylily within 6 months of that day......the rest of the story is history! That was less than 10 years ago, and now we are one of the largest daylily suppliers in the world, having over 2000 cultivars, millions of plants in stock, on 40 acres of prime farmland. We have developed customized equipment to automate most processes, and we have probably the lowest "out the door" cost for dayliles. We took a strawberry planter made in 1950, took it back to the factory it was made at, and had it "customized" for planting daylilies. We can plant 2000 to 3000 plants per hour with a 3 man crew, instead of hand planting. We altered a potato digger to harvest plants, instead of hand digging. We can now harvest 1000 flowers in about 15 minutes, it would take a couple of guys half a day or more to hand dig that many. We customized a vegtable washer to wash outgoing plants that were sold (they cannot have ANY dirt on them to cross state lines). We started out having 6 "wash stations" to hand wash the flowers, employing 6 people to wash the flowers before shipping. The customized vegetable washer now requires one person 4 hours a day to keep up with the shipping and packaging, instead of 6 guys working 8 hours a day. We can ship over 5000 plants per day, individually packaged and clearly marked, with about 8 or ten workers. That includes digging, washing, trimming, labeling and packaging 5000 plants, usually to over 100 different addresses. 5000 in one day!
We are building DNotes the same way. Exciting stuff!!

Great article here Edmund C. Moy (former director of the US Mint) talks at the bitcoin investor conference about how bitcoin can privatize money again.

“[One] reason why I like cryptocurrencies and where my mind has gone on all this is that when you take a look at our earliest notions of money — money was in private hands. You found electrum, which is basically a mixture of gold and silver in the ground. Sizes were important, and if you just pounded it into a mold — and you use that in trade, so money was very — it was in private hands, it was the ultimate democratization of money.”

“Well, I see bitcoin as the improvement in technology that allows money to be privatized again, back where it should be because it is my belief that one of the main uses of money is economic transactions. Why is government involved in economic transactions except for the ability to tax that transaction and get their income out of it? So, if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me that — if current technology allows, then money should be privatized because it’s used between two people.”

http://insidebitcoins.com/news/former-director-of-us-mint-bitcoin-allows-money-to-be-privatized-again/35866

"if money is primarily used in economic transactions between two people, then it makes a lot of sense to me." That is DNotes’ ultimate goal. I have mentioned that in a number of my previous posts, that when the vast majority of DNotes transactions are between two parties, there will be little doubt that DNotes is superior to fiat currency. Getting to that point will take years and a lot of strategic positioning and great executions.

It will be great if we can write an article about this subject for DCEBrief. DNotes is a long term large scale global project that will take years or even decades to reach its ultimate goal - to facilitate the vast majority of the transactions between two parties. If you understand our ultimate goal you will understand and appreciate all the extra work and commitments we have subjected ourselves to. It is a lot of very hard work and not always a lot of fun. We believe that for DNotes to be the trusted global digital currency for everyone world to participate, thereby gaining mass acceptance - that is what it takes.

What has DNotes been doing differently?

1. Culture

Recognizing the fragmented and chaotic nature of our industry, we started by  creating a culture of mutual respect, cooperation, and team work resulting in a productive and rewarding community atmosphere many characterized as “refreshing”. DNotes is now a respected currency with a purpose. This has made it possible for DNotes to have its own ecosystem system without outside funding. It is quite an amazing accomplishment for anyone who knows what it takes.

2. A trusted Brand

DNotes has built a trusted brand and will continue down that path. TRUST is invaluable in financial services. A significant of part DNotes future growth will involve financial services.

3. Dedicated Long Term Commitment

The DNotes team and many of its stakeholders are long term investors. The vast majority of them are net buyers investing for the long term. We do not participate in pump and dump. Unfortunately, trading bots including some likely operated by some exchanges are making price stability nearly impossible to achieve. We will continue to support the market but becoming very reluctant to “feed the bot”. We are less concerned about volatilities until we start promoting DNotes as a medium of exchange. By then, we believe that other mechanisms will be in place to address that issue.

4. Women’s Full Participation - CryptoMoms

We are totally committed to encourage and assist women’s participation in the digital currency space. It is most encouraging to note that CryptoMoms broke the record of 13,000 registered members today after being launched less than 1 ˝ years ago. Expect us to be doing a lot more to empower women in the future. I will personally be heading up a major project to assist women small business owners. Anyone, interested to participate may contact me. Women should not be left behind in this massive emerging industry.

5. Saving For The Future – CRISP

Everything that we do for DNotes is done for strategic reasons or for a good cause; positioning DNotes to accomplish the ultimate goal of mass acceptance on a global scale. It is not how big the project is at launch, but how well positioned it is for global expansion at the appropriate time.

Our family of CRISPs for children, students, employees and retirees are designed to fulfill our mission to make DNotes available for everyone worldwide to participate. We believe that disciplined savings for long term, done on a regular is a good thing for everyone. Our job is to provide for the convenience, safety, and long term appreciating value of DNotes. Consequently, DNotes is managed as a business, but not controlled as a business.

6. DNotesVault

DNotesVault is a significant service for our stakeholders, at no cost.  It is easier to open a DNotes Vault account than a bank account. It is also secure. We guarantee 100% of your deposit through a separate cold storage account, secured in a different location, with an amount always in excess of the total deposit. The guaranteed funds are verifiable any time through the blockchain.

7. DCEBrief

DCEBrief is the latest addition to our ecosystem built to provide objective, unbiased news on the latest developments in the world of digital currency, in “Executive Summary” format, with no fluff or filler. DCEBrief's mission is to ensure decision makers, busy executives and everyday people worldwide can access the information they need, to help them understand the often misunderstood Digital Currency industry.

The DNotes’ Difference:

If you are new to DNotes, we hope you got a better sense of the DNotes’ difference. Our ultimate objective is for DNotes to gain mass acceptance as the digital currency of choice in global commerce, where the vast majority of the DNotes transactions are between two parties without the control of any central authority or middleman. We are not hoping that it could happen. We have been executing multiple strategic plans to make it happen. DNotes and its ecosystem is not just a vision or a wishful business plan; it is a large scale global project with completed solid foundation and multiple functioning systems as outlined above. As we expand, there will be many opportunities in different areas. Get to know us early, if you have exceptional skill-sets and like to be a part of our team. Feel free to PM me.

Wow. What a manifesto. I feel like I just read something that was nailed on a door 500 yers ago. Refreshing roadmap, explains our mission very well.

All, we are starting a cancer fundraiser at our new daylily site called "Collections for Cancer". 50% of all collection sales from through 31st will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Check out or press release below:

http://www.ourmidland.com/prweb/smokey-s-daylilies-announces-collections-for-cancer-fundraiser-as-owner/article_c8f3f8d3-b148-584b-8be6-6e0921518209.html

This is a very inspiring initiative Smokey, and the story about your battle with cancer is touching. I hope you surpass your fundraising goals, while bringing awareness to a disease that millions die from every year.

That is a great story and worthy initiative. "hopes to spread the word about the importance of patients taking an active role in researching and understanding their own health options. He intends to raise funds to help the American Cancer Society give people the knowledge they need to make important decisions that can have a deep impact on their own health and survivability." I think many people put all of their trust in the doctor they are speaking to and forget that they are just people too and don't know everything. Even doctors will shun you for "googling" your own health problems, medications, and treatments. That's not the way it should be.

Congratulations Kevin on your remission.

Thank you, Kanus. The last five years have not been easy, but they have been the most exciting, and best five years of my life so far. The treatments and surgery have ravaged my body (I only weigh about 115 lbs), and knocked a few points off my IQ, but cancer has also been one of my best teachers, and in many ways, I would not trade these five years for anything else, but that is a chapter in a book for some other time. My "team" and I immediately sprang into action and quickly selected Mayo as the best option for me. In less than two weeks from the time the first Doctor told us I had cancer, I was taking my first treatment at Rochester, MN. Even though I had a 7% survival rate, I felt more confident than I have ever felt in my life. I was lucky to have good insurance, and one hell of a support system. My family, my employees, my church, and the entire town threw their support behind me. Their were dozens, if not hundreds of folks praying for me in accross the nation. Privately, I felt as though I had to live through this, to avoid letting down all the folks who were pulling for me. To me, that meant death was not an option. My biggest cheerleader was my wife, Rocky (I call her Shorty). She is known here as Grandmama. I also call her Nurse Ratchet (after the movie), and also call her the Soup Nazi. She is the reason I weigh 115 LBS instead of 90 LBS. She will cook anything for me, anytime.
Alan, Joe and I have been to the gates of Hell together. We have overcome health adversities. Alan had cancer right before we teamed up, and had heart surgery the year before I was diagnosed with cancer. We have also  overcome financial adversities. I sunk several hundred thousand dollars on a prime retail site, and a 20,000 square foot building in 2004, a few years before the bust. We spent several hundred thousand on a new 8000 square foot showroom in that huge building. We also had several other setbacks that would have stopped most others. Luckily, Alan had convinced me to grow Registered Daylilies during this time also. It took us less than five years to become one of the world's largest growers, all the while battling health issues, and financial issues as well. Then came DNotes, which will be our greatest accomplishment. It was "built" the same way Smokeys Gardens was, one block at a time.
We plan on writing a book about our journey together someday. It will be a book about overcoming adversities. It will be a book about hard work. It will be a book about how to motivate others. It will be a book about how to react to and overcome setbacks, both personal and in business. It will be a book about how to treat others, both friends and foes.
Thanks to all that have supported us. Thanks to the American Cancer Society. And a special thanks to my dear friend Alan, who initially signed up as a business coach. He ended up teaching me about how to live life, and how to treat others. Thank you, Yoda.

Looking forward to trading BTC/NOTE on Cryptopia -- just gotta scuttle into town to organise a Bitcoin buy!

Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia

Thanks, Mark. I have been so busy I have not even had a chance to check it out. Just taking a break and stopped in to say hello. Cryptopia could be good for us.

You know we are BOTH very busy when our daily talks are only ten minutes long! I know Alan is very busy with the book project, and we are updating inventory here in Smokeyland. We have been working on a new website. Joe has put many many hours into this project, and it shows.

We update inventory every year on Nov. 1 (shipping ends Nov. 1 until May of the following year). Our methods of multiplying Daylilies has worked so well that we slashed prices (sometimes pricing them at less that 1/3 of average retail prices) to help balance inventory.

We need some input and feedback on our new website. We decided to create a discount code for the DNotes forum users. The new website addy is: www.smokeysdaylilies.com  The coupon code, good for 25% off is: forum   Go check it out, and give me feedback if you would. You can contact me privatly if you would rather at kevin@smokeysgardens.com

I love the new site! Very professional and modern. Layout is clean yet attractive and it isn't hard to figure out or navigate. That's some nice work Kevin & Joe!

Excellent, thanks RJF. That is the look and feel we were going for.

www.smokeysdaylilies.com  -   Absolutely beautiful!

TeeGee - I'm not sure about the spiders and snakes  Grin, but I know we can't import any type of plant into Canada.  We have a huge problem with invasive species (plants and pests), so they have said no to everything, including non-invasive plants like daylilies.  Great post, by the way - the world could use a 'few' more coaches like that.

Thanks for the kind comments, Chase. Joe deserves all the credit for the new website. It surprised me to find out that Canada was one of the most restrictive countries to ship plants to. It was just too much inconvenience for us to ship internationally.

Can I be honest here?

I read a lot about how DNOTES could theoretically do xyz in some idealized future when crypto runs the world. But nothing about what the technology development of DNOTES is realistically doing right now. What is the development roadmap? What will DNOTES aim to technically achieve in the next 3-6-12 months to make this future a possibility?

I'm talking actual code and releases and shipping solutions, not making press releases, going to expos and having one lily garden center accepting it.

I feel like this thread is 99% smooth talking the talk (of which 75% is either about the DCEBrief website or some random news articles about Bitcoin) and 1% walking any kind of progress walk for the currency itself.

Resassure me here that we're not just stumbling around in some blind circlejerk, posting empty news articles about vague economics and an imaginary future to distract ourselves from the apparent lack of any genuine productized technical direction and progress.

Tell me something real that's going on with DNOTES the cryptocurrency as a technology platform, not just journalism and fluff.

Hi Mochilles, appreciate the honesty and in a way I'm glad you posted, though it could have been more polite. We are working very hard on what we have built and proud of it. Our core mission right now is to build the infrastructure required for this company and the currency, and we are not working on leading edge technology at this time. What we have built is practical for the purposes of growing a global supplemental digital currency, and is not theoretical. We have put a lot of time, effort, and money into what we have built. Alan has clearly stated the "three distinct components of this cryptocurrency revolution" in our latest press release and we have made it very clear we are focusing on the currency and the business that will drive that currency. http://dcebrief.com/bitcoin-alternative-dnotes-announces-new-company-launch-in-2016-to-integrate-the-currency-payment-system-and-blockchain/

The discussions that happen on here spark ideas. Agreeing or disagreeing here or behind the scenes are where ideas are born and things happen. I have always been taught you need to walk before you run. I would much rather the team walk through this than to run blindly hoping they are running in the right direction. Please stay the course and walk through this like you should walk through life. When you start running is when I look for who or what is chasing you and why.  It is like putting a puzzle together, you do it one piece at a time. It is like getting dressed you put your undies on before your pants. It is like baking you have to have all the ingredients before you can bake a cake. You get the picture.

Timing is everything. We have our strategy mapped out and are following it. Everything has a priority. We focus the majority of our resources on what matters the most at the time, and right now, it ain't tech.

Here's another interesting blockchain application. I really don't like the part about a car repossessing itself, though:

http://cointelegraph.com/news/115482/visa-bitcoins-blockchain-to-turn-cars-into-mobile-wallets?ref=45

Good to see you again, Wiser! I just commented about how the blockchain will have a massive impact. (Even more than the internet, if that seems possible). This is just one more small way. As far as the repossessing goes, I think some buy-here pay-here places can dis-able a car if they want it back. And, since the blockchain said so, it HAS to be re-possessed. That is a part of the blockchain that makes it work, and could not be compromised. Expect more and more uses for the blockchain coming our way.

Thomas wrote an interesting article today "Will Blockchain Be Able to Verify Your Degree?", where Holberton is using Blockchain technology to verify graduates degrees and combat fake degrees. "For digital currency and the underlying technology of the blockchain this is a significant step, the use of the system to combat fraud once again highlights the security and trustworthiness of the technology. " Very well said! http://dcebrief.com/will-blockchain-be-able-to-verify-your-degree/

The implications of this are massive! Getting better and better each day.

Massive may be the wrong word, not strong enough! We are just scratching the surface of what the blockchain can do. It may be hard to imagine, but I think the blockchain will have a greater impact on society than the internet! There are SO MANY ways the blockchain will be used, mostly undiscovered. It will change the way we do biz, and change the way we live our lives, and especially impact the "huddle masses" (in a good way).

Funny, just ran across this "Because ransomware has found success on such a vast scale, Bonavolonta said attackers are likely to keep their demands low to maximise profit.", from this article: https://securityledger.com/2015/10/fbis-advice-on-cryptolocker-just-pay-the-ransom/ remembering our earlier conversation about Aria.

There are arguments for and against paying the ransom, as stated here http://www.coindesk.com/fbi-malware-victims-should-pay-bitcoin-ransoms/. Thinking through the Aria scenario, I might consider paying the ransom, wait for the bitcoin to move around, then offer a bounty. Ethical hackers would love this.

I might even suggest the FBI is recommending people pay the ransom, as they are working on a way to track down btc transactions. The more transactions that occur, the more evidence there will be to track the perpetrators. Even though the blockchain records all the transactions, there may or may not be sophisticated enough software to follow where they go, through mixers and such, but I'm positive such software is coming.

Eventually, if you have bitcoin, you want to be able to spend it. Spending it requires you to identify yourself in one way or another. Combine that with the inevitable blockchain trail of all transactions, no matter how you attempt to mask or mix your transactions, there will always be a trail to follow and given enough data someone will always be able to figure it out or even narrow it down to just a handful of people.

I always thought that kind of odd. It seems as though everyone has it backwards. Cash is totally untrackable, and as "anonymous" as a transaction can be. Bitcoin is totally transparent, there is just not an "easy" or sure way to track it, as of now. You can be sure it is coming. In reality, bitcoin is the POLAR OPPOSITE of cash. With the proper software, and enough computing power, any Shatosi ever sent could be tracked. It won't be long, cash will be looked upon as the "stuff the bad guys use", while bitcoin will eventually become totally trackable and totally transparent, if someone wants to take the time and effort required to do so. When that happens, the "bad guys" will not be able to use it to help them break the law.

Good Morning, NorCal. Very good to see you here. Stop in often. We appreciate very much that you have been working very hard to include us. It is very much appreciated.

PayServices is a massive and very exciting project. We are happy to be included and will remained helpful in any ways we can.

Thanks for the Youtube video and all that work you put in. I am impressed that you even found some news clippings of the DTRs (mini tablet computer, 1993) Intel 486 MS Windows, 80 Meg HD - handwriting (pen) and voice recognition, 2.5 lbs. (DTR1 manufactured by IBM) Also support wireless CDPD, GPS and others.

I remember the DTR!! The first time I met you, (Alan) you were using a DTR. That was before laptops. Before smart phones. Hell I cannot even remember life before laptops and smartphones! I do remember our first cell phone. (about '92 or 93). It was a bag phone, hard-mounted in my work pickup. The horn blew when the phone rang if the vehicle was not running. Very "high tech". At least it was then.

Competition is a good thing. Being a "me too" is an easy thing to do. On balance we are a tough act to beat because of the fundamental philosophy of our willingness to do more.

Just popped in to say hi. We have a couple more weeks of shipping before we can take a breath here in Smokeyland. Then we tuck the flowers in for a long winter's sleep, winterize everything, clean stuff up and put the tractors and equipment in the barns.
"History repeats itself". "You create your own luck". We are following the same path that we followed to make Smokeys Daylily Gardens what it is today. It is a very simple path. "Do more than the competition is WILLING to do". When you do that long enough, you have the ability to "Do more than the competition is ABLE to do". Alan (Dyna) taught me that concept years ago shortly after we met. Alan and Joe are the hardest working guys (and a couple of the smartest guys ) I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
