Had trouble connecting to the forum most of the morning, managed to get the DCEBrief article posted. Looks like it's back up and running now.

Found this in my email today:
http://www.coindesk.com/research/who-really-uses-bitcoin/
Could be pretty interesting, in the screen shots it appears to talk about gender imbalance.

Am I the only one thinking it stinks that they are charging $99 to view this report??  Angry

Yeah that's a bit much. I would be interested if it was like $5 or $10.

By the way, does anyone know when they will add Dnotes to cryptopia?

Don't know anything yet. I'm sure it won't be long.

The "4 Reasons Why Banks’ Private Blockchains Will Fail" article here: http://cointelegraph.com/news/115568/4-reasons-why-banks-private-blockchains-will-fail?ref=45 was a very interesting read. I'm not yet convinced banks private blockchains will fail, depending the intended purpose. It may add some internal functionality, or may even make existing tasks easier or more secure. There will be advantages to using a global decentralized digital currency for the public and I'm sure even banks, which I don't think can be replaced.

I really liked this article.  I don't know enough about it to say whether it will fail or not, but I like some of the points the author made.

"Banks are rife with regulations, bureaucracy, and red tape - things that should take months usually end up taking years for a bank to approve."

"Banks have about as much history building innovations in technology as they do lowering credit card rates. Their business is making money off of their customers and the society as a whole, not advancing the state of the art."

"2015 has been the “Year of the Blockchain” as the world’s leading financial institutions flock to study Bitcoin’s underlying advancements. Whether the establishment admits it or not, this stampede of positive energy in the economic sector towards the Blockchain indirectly validates Bitcoin’s core value."

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." -Albert Einstein-

yes i did like this. it is clear, easy to read and good info. because DCEBrief's finger shows journalism - the next step is exclusives (i guess these items aren't exclusives). hope we together will create some day "The New Global Economy" daily newspaper (with online strip of Digital Currencies rates). I do think about ways to take this project forward, yet no decisions

Here is a boost to bitcoin's legitimacy:

Trading Forex in Bitcoin – Is it the Geekiest Way to Make money Online?

Forex has always been one of the most attractive investment options for less experienced traders. Now, bitcoin is bringing a new breed of investors to the forex trading space, and many  brokers are opening its doors to the digital currency.

In fact, this year all along, several Forex brokers started to deal with bitcoin, and it seems the interest, both from traders and brokers, in this type of investment is growing exponentially.

The Foreign Exchange (Forex) Market is the largest market in the world. It is where foreign currencies are exchanged and where every day more than 4 trillion dollars are traded. The huge volume of daily transactions makes it the most liquid market in the world. The enormous size of the Forex market is what ensures that no one can control the market; not even banks or big financial groups can control the market for a long period of time.

Forex essentially goes around about eight major currencies and is open 24 hours a day, enabling traders to have the best chances whenever they hear a financial scoop.

A few years ago there was no Broker willing tForex_article_midimage_NewsBTCo work with bitcoin, but now this is changing; currently we can find a lot of brokers that enable investors to trade forex pairs using BTC. It looks like Forex trading via bitcoin is revolutionizing both Forex trading and BTC investments. Several brokers already let user’s trade forex pairs by investing with bitcoin.

Great find, that will certainly give our industry a boost in legitimacy. It makes sense to trade bitcoin along with forex trading. It may even work to provide a price buffer from large movements in price because of the scale of the forex market. Will be interesting to see.

Thanks, Mark. I have been so busy I have not even had a chance to check it out. Just taking a break and stopped in to say hello. Cryptopia could be good for us.

You know we are BOTH very busy when our daily talks are only ten minutes long! I know Alan is very busy with the book project, and we are updating inventory here in Smokeyland. We have been working on a new website. Joe has put many many hours into this project, and it shows.

We update inventory every year on Nov. 1 (shipping ends Nov. 1 until May of the following year). Our methods of multiplying Daylilies has worked so well that we slashed prices (sometimes pricing them at less that 1/3 of average retail prices) to help balance inventory.

We need some input and feedback on our new website. We decided to create a discount code for the DNotes forum users. The new website addy is: www.smokeysdaylilies.com  The coupon code, good for 25% off is: forum   Go check it out, and give me feedback if you would. You can contact me privatly if you would rather at kevin@smokeysgardens.com
