21  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you feel that the global economy is declining? on: May 20, 2024, 09:46:28 AM
One of my colleagues told me that his salary is lower now than it was five years ago. Sadly, the price of goods is rising.
If that’s the case, then it’s time for him to look for a side hustle that will create additional income from his main job. Relying on a single job is never practical these days, otherwise you will struggle with your finances no matter how high your salary is due to increased prices in goods and services.

Inflation is not new to us. Prices have been rising every year and we don’t have control of that. But what we can do is to navigate our own finances and gain additional jobs so that we can always cope up with this high rising inflation that I think would be here for good.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need more developers? on: May 20, 2024, 09:14:09 AM
What's wrong if we get in more new Bitcoin developers? Since Bitcoin is expanding more and more, we may need more Bitcoin developers. Since Bitcoin is open source, anyone can contribute to the network. Anyone can learn and become a bitcoin developer. They can contribute to improving the Bitcoin experience. Though they can't add anything to the code or rewrite the code, they might solve some issues. For example, the Bitcoin lightning network helps reduce fees and facilitate fast transactions. That's how we may find a new solution every time.
You have a good point. What’s wrong with having a lot of bitcoin developers? At least we can guarantee that bitcoin will always have a room to grow and develop, and these developers will make it work and happen. Although we are currently amazed already how innovative and advanced bitcoin is, but changes are inevitable, so we need to cope with it, otherwise bitcoin will be ignored and left behind.

If we can gain a lot of developers for bitcoin, then so be it. I don’t think they’ll be here for nothing, but everyone is still hopeful for more bitcoin features and advantages, that’s why we, the bitcoin community and the smart developers should consistently work hand in hand to create more bitcoin opportunities and benefits in the near future.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest fight of the year: Terry Crews vs Anderson Silva this June 15 on: May 20, 2024, 05:02:04 AM
Though Terry has no experience in any combat sports according to this news, he is very fit.

Another great exhibition match. Although he doesn't have an experience, I think he can entertain the crowd. He must learn how to defend himself and maybe get help by ensuring the script will be followed. he got the body but without experience in boxing (which I assume it will be) then it will take time for him to learn. However, I'm quite curious, because if he doesn't have the experience in any combat sport, why would he allowed this to happen?
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 20, 2024, 04:45:08 AM
The series now tied for Ginebra vs Meralco. Although C. Stand score 41 points but it wasn't enough to beat the Meralco who tried to even the series. It was the complete team effort of Ginebra that made them beat a strong team like Ginebra, there shooting was great, they ended with 50% shooting, and have outrebounded Ginebra by 11 rebounds.
Nice series, the first game was close and the 2nd game it was Meralco who dominated the Ginebra.
I think this one is a good series, would probably go to 6 of 7 games.

C. Stand with 41 points probably his semi finals bets.

Now, we are going into the 2nd game of the SMB vs ROS series, can the ROS even the series as well? Let's see, but as for me, I had my bet on SMB at -5.5. I believe it's either SMB winning covering the spread or ROS will win outright.

Edit, the firsts has been concluded 53-45, SMB leading by 8 points but I don't like the spread in the live betting as SMB is only -7.5. I'm not quite skeptical if this bet will win as spread like that in this situation, normally the underdog will cover based on my experiencce.

Also the pregame total was 204. now live at 201.5, I'll take the over.

You win on the SMB bet as the defense was really superb, and they are healthier now with Terrence Romeo already back in the line up.
Unfortunately the over didn't go through as ROS is shooting bricks.
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 19, 2024, 11:58:53 PM
Why I brought this topic it's because so many people are still paying debt, why? Because they went ahead of borrowing money just to gamble and by the end of the day, they lose it all.
That's not just all about gambling addiction but also being them as a person. There are different personalities for each of us and the way we tackle with gambling. If someone can't afford to gamble, you better stop it and be content with what you have. Stick to your budget plans when you gamble and don't be too hectic to yourself because you're only giving a problem to yourself.

Those that have been gambling all day long but they can't stand with that because they think that they'd either take a loan to anyone they know or the bank or will sell stuff, they're on a different level of gambling addiction.

Never gamble when you're going to take a loan and that will be used as your bankroll. It's never been a good idea to do that and from that kind of approach, it only tells you what kind of person and gambler you are.
It only proves that some gamblers do not have self-discipline. Discipline plays a vital role in gambling, if you don’t have that, expect that you will not grow your money in the long run but will only lose all your hard-earned funds while anticipating that despite of your losses, you are still gonna make it big in the end, which only rare to happen and which only happen to those extra lucky gamblers indeed.

Betting with a borrowed money is never a good start already, once you lose, you will end up losing them all. But if you bet with your own spare money, and bet with an amount you can afford to lose, you might still lose them all in the end but the process is actually not in pain, but more of joy and entertaining.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 19, 2024, 11:49:04 PM
Just because BTC is anti to those organizations you have listed there, does it mean it's also bad? Or those people who deal with it are bad? No that's not how it goes but actually those organizations are the ones who are bad and this is why BTC is created, for the people to not rely on them anymore.

There are still Bitcoin hodlers who can't be trusted because they are criminals and they only use Bitcoin because we know that the coin is anonymous but there are still cryptos that can do this better and maybe they also use it. They are among the reason on why BTC and other cryptos got a bad name for some strict people but fortunately it is slowly dissolving.
I have to agree with this. The only reason why bitcoin come into existence is to combat the main source of  wrong doings, not to be utilized actually by those bad guys around and take advantage on it. In fact, bitcoin is designed to be free from the government control, so we can take our full control with our own currency and wallet.   Although I can’t guarantee that those who sided bitcoin are all right and responsible ones, since it’s known that some bitcoin users are doing it for their personal intentions and negative interests, but majority I believe are using bitcoin for positive benefits.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 19, 2024, 11:33:35 PM
No, confidence does not bring winning in gambling. It only brings about hope that we would win in a particular bet. Infact most of the times i was confidence with the game i had selected i mostly don't win because i choose the games out of passion and not based on the quality and performances of the team which i mostly experience in sports gambling.

Gambling is luck, which means once luck is on your side you will win. If your bets were analyzed well then there are also chances of you wining as well. Sometimes i just take a few games like two or three then i use a big amount to stake it, it mostly come out well anytime i do this.
Gambling is purely a game of luck. If you’re out of luck, you will never experience winning your bets. Even if your confidence to bet is high, that won’t still guarantee winning. But if luck is on your side, no matter how unpredictable the outcome of the game, you will still end up in profits even if you aren’t sure of your bets.

However, when it comes to sportsbetting, if you’re quite good in your game analysis because you know how the game is played, sometimes the outcome turn into skill based. But most of the time, regardless what type of game as long as it’s gambling, it’s always luck based.
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What need to follow to play the stress free gambling game on: May 19, 2024, 09:50:05 PM
If it is just being stress free then simply avoid betting an amount you'd stress upon losing. Always anticipate the tendency of losing and reflect whether your bet will make you fine or not. Indeed winning big or multipying the amount you engaged would be a sweet moment however, as we all know, gambling doesn't work that way or in accordance with our will unless you are really lucky. We are responsible with our money and same thing goes with gambling outcome. Losing is normal but if you would be in loss but with an amount you can endure, would you still stress about it? If yes, then gambling is not for you. We only tend to be emotionally affected if we have high hopes on gambling outcome e.g. winning big of course. On the other hand, winning big requires big wager amount as well.
The only reason why people become stress with gambling is that when they lose consistently at the amount they can’t afford to lose. They should have known it before that gambling does not guarantee secured profits, but will even make you lose more. To gamble is to lose, that’s the sad reality with gambling. And with series of losses, you will then see yourself that you’re messing up with your funds, hence you will lose everything you have in the end. That’s why if you learn to gamble, set some limits on your bets, don’t just bet regardless of the amount because you will really end up using up all your funds without even having the chance to win big that could somehow cover all your previous losses.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we increase the awrarness level for Bitcoin adoption on: May 19, 2024, 09:01:28 PM
They will use their own methods to create awareness of Bitcoin among those around them. But in rural areas, maybe they need to use more methods because people may not pay much attention to Bitcoin. But that's where the challenge lies, how to open their mind to accept new things about Bitcoin.

If someone can access the internet easily, he will see many advertisements about Bitcoin or crypto. But he needs to find out more information first to start investing. And he would find more information if he could use the internet well.

With the information he can get, he can know when to start investing. He can know what the risks are in investing in Bitcoin. The dissemination of information about Bitcoin is now better because it is supported by the internet.
Having an internet connection will pave way to bitcoin awareness and knowledge. Without it, people will continue to live naive not knowing bitcoin and its purposes. They will only focus on fiat because they don’t know other options that can also be used as a currency like fiat. And they won’t be aware also that we have bitcoin as an investment that is capable to let us earn and grow our money as long as we are doing the right investment.

Social media plays a vital role in promoting bitcoin and spreading the facts about it. If a lot of people will have an access to the social media most particularly in rural areas, then there will be high possible chances that bitcoin will be more known easily and quickly, and people will start seeing bitcoin not just a good currency but as a potential investment as well.
30  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Slow success builds character, fast success builds Ego." Ratan Tata on: May 19, 2024, 12:08:41 AM
In which case I have no character and no ego lol

Not that i'm such a failure, but my old business failed to the point I accumulated huge debts. I'm not complaining, I learnt a lot, I still got a job I never went to jail. Yes, my crypto journey is very slow as every extra I make is split between DCA and paying back my old loans, my freedom will be achieved but in many more years.

Quotes are dumb. I know one or two people who had fast success but were generous and went to 100% charity, I didn't feel even one bit of ego from them.

I know many more people who have no success but keep trying and have super big egos. Majority traders in forex was like this. Pretending fake success with BMWs and Rolex in profile pics Wink
I have seen people who act like this, and most likely if they keep their big egos, reaching their trading goals and success will be far possible to happen. Traders who focus more on what will impress other people instead of proving to theirselves what they can do in trading will certainly have a hard time on achieving their own success. It’s like they do trading not to gather experience and be skillful on it, but to show to other people what they got in trading, even if it means posting fake photos in their account so that people will praise and envy them.
31  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to become a successful trader on: May 18, 2024, 11:42:59 PM
I think there is a ton of thread here or in the internet that talk about "How to become a successful trade" the answer can be very but in my opinion the key to be successful trader is money management and control emotion because if pro with that I believe you are gonna becoming successful trade. Tho I say this but personally Im not a successful trade hahahah but I believe those are the key
Aside from that, to be able to become a successful trader, one should also lengthen his experience in trading as no trader can succeed from just limited experiences in this field, but varied experiences are more likely to gain positive outcome. Also, learning from the past experiences of early traders can greatly help for newbie traders so that they will be more open minded on the pros and cons about trading, and hearing their successful trading stories will definitely motivate them to improve their trading skills and strategies.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 18, 2024, 10:44:28 PM
To chased your loss in gambling is totally good for my understanding but the thing is that it has a disadvantages situation whereby will be addicted in gambling why it is not what you plan to do so it will be good for someone who is a gambler to at least have a particular moment so that whenever he this is in gambling he will not be chasing the loss

Actually chasing losses is one of the most counter productive things one can end up doing in a casino. The feeling and the need to get one's money back is kind of natural and expected, nobody wants to lose money after all, but it is kind of obvious chasing losses does not help to get money back, but rather lose it even further.

I have seen a few cases in which gamblers have managed to get their losses back by going in a revenge spree and double down on their wager, but those situations are very limited and not the rule, but the exception.
People chase their losses because they don’t want to see theirselves losing in the end, that is the most painful thing we don’t want to experience in gambling, yet it’s inevitable. We always have this big anticipation that we will make a big win in the end that will cover all our previous losses. We always believe that gambling is here to make us win, but in reality gambling is here to provide us winning experience at first but they’ll eventually get the funds back and put us in the losing end. This is the sad reality about gambling, it’s never our advantage actually but it’s always the gambling casino that has an edge over us.
33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: May 18, 2024, 09:44:02 PM
Someone betted on boxing and lost the game but the gambler out of grieve of his lost is trying to ease his emotion Said, It is okay as it is for at least the guy I betted on made me lost the game but had unfortunate for him too to had taken beaten of his life.

I think such is and aggressive and irresponsible gambler who gambles on the peak of what he can not afford to loose.
I did not quite understand all that you said due to your bad English, but what I will have to say here is, it is wrong for anyone to gamble above their means, this is something that we often talk about  most of the time on this forum, even casinos always have this "gamble responsibly" logo at the bottom of their casino, serving as a reminder to players on the importance of maintaining a healthy gambling habit.

And coming to games of choice when gambling, gamblers are also supposed to gamble only on games they are very familier with, and have better chances of winning at, this is also very important just as it is important for us to make sure that we are only playing with money we can afford to lose, just incase when we encounter loses, it's easy to bear, for like it or not, wining and losing are both very normal in gambling.
I cannot clearly perceive what OP is trying to pinpoint also. But all I know when it comes to gambling, always bet on your own risk. Do not gamble if you are in tight budget, or you are having financial struggles because obviously, gambling will make it worst. And when you gamble, never anticipate that you’ll end up profitable at all times, gambling is purely luck driven, and we all know we can’t be lucky the whole time we are gambling. So just gamble on a small amount of funds.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 18, 2024, 09:16:55 PM
Smartest way to cut actual gambling while young but also while an adult is education primarily maths.   If you know the maths to compare and contrast every gambling game, every bet for its value and validity then you are going to be far safer then relying on the law and regulations to put everything behind safety tape for you.

Telling people what they can and cant do is not the most effective method, it makes people believe the game is more attractive and forbidden, we cant even inform people of cancer and smoking and its been decades of solid research.   Make everything as transparent as possible and you have an obvious cause and effect, endless laws can cover things up & it can be quite ironic.
Getting these people educated about the risks and losses of gambling could be a good option, but still we can’t expect that everyone will come to avoid gambling now that they know already that gambling is not designed to grow their money but will only make their money grow less until they lose everything they have. People, most particularly teens are most likely hard headed until they prove to theirselves that gambling will not bring any good in the end.

However, I guess the best option so that teens will not be tempted to gamble is to banned online gambling at all. I believe a lot would not agree to this but I can see this is possible especially if the government insist of doing it for the sake of the minors not falling into gambling addiction.
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has Trading Competitions competitions led you to challenge your skills? on: May 17, 2024, 10:42:10 PM
When you don't know about trading at all, how can you even know how to cope with trading competition? You will probably just be like a novice who is handed a keyboard to play for the congregation. When I first heard about trading, although it was Forex trading, I thought it was just some simple thing I could do and make huge money with, but after I lost some money with it, I just realized that it's something you have to properly learn about the principles involved, learn about the tools to use, and learn how to develop your trading strategy. Trading is not so simple that you can know how to trade after engaging in competition. You even need trading knowledge to be able to join the competition.
This is the reason why we should acquire knowledge and experience at first before trying to pursue our passion in trading. Trading without setting a foundation first will only come into a waste of time and money. Therefore we should avoid it. However, if you have learned the basic skills and strategies already in trading, then challenge yourself and get involved with trading competitions, not actually to make an edge over the others, but to gain more experiences that will harness your own potentials in trading.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 16, 2024, 11:59:37 PM
We have different opinion about Bitcoin so why bother what others or critics think of it?
They don't see it as a currency then move on we don't need to force them to see it that way, we have been using it however we want (payment option or investment tool).

Bitcoin can be good or bad for some people, but we aren’t here to invest in bitcoin and follow their opinions or ideas about bitcoin. We have our own thoughts and insights based from our in-depth research, so let’s stick to that and never mind what negative critics have to say. As long as we invested using our own money, and believe that bitcoin can be a good currency and a profitable tool for investment as well, then their final say won’t affect us. We are responsible of our own thoughts and decisions when it comes to bitcoin, so let it won’t be influenced by what others have to say.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 16, 2024, 11:40:03 PM
And what I understand is that if you really want to be a millionaire through gambling, you only have to increase in your amount that you stake the higher the amount the richer you can in a minutes.
Don't be decieved that the higher amount you stake, the richer you can be in a minute, because you will run at great loss before you will understand that gambling cannot win a fortune for you.

Only gamble for fun to avoid you running at great loss, and if peradventure you hit the jackpot, then you have all the funds to use in changing your life by investing it into a business.
Gambling is always played by luck, so even if you stake a little amount, if you are really lucky that time, you will grow your small amount of profits and hit a big jackpot prize. However, if you don’t feel the luck that time, even if you start staking big amount, that won’t never guarantee to make you win bigger amount as well, but most likely the bigger you stake, the more likely you will lose a lot. That’s the reality in gambling, it won’t give you the edge to win but as much as possible, it will make you lose all you bet. That’s why let’s not be deceived by that kind of mindset, but chose to gamble responsibly at all times.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 10:59:29 PM
Even though I don't feel comfortable attaching so much spirituality to gambling, it is still possible that some people are just naturally lucky that they win effortlessly.  I don't know if this has anything to do with their destiny or not and if it does, then it is possible that their could be some spiritual max they could win.

However, I wouldn't want to accept that destiny play a part in gambling, I can't just fathom how this will be possible. I have to see what others have to say, so I can learn. If it is, there is no way an individual can verify his case
Yes, same with my point. It’s certain for us that some are actually extra lucky in gambling that they end up making a big win even if they don’t play their games excellently. And while there are few lucky gamblers, majority I could say do not hit their luck and will keep on struggling to win a good amount. It’s hard to explain but some are actually good in playing their games regardless of their length of gambling experience and are winning effortlessly.

I cannot say that destiny plays a big part in gambling, but for some reasons, those who consistently won their games and those who keep playing to lose may sometimes lead to say that some are destined to win while others are destined to lose.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto as job salary - Yay or Nay? on: May 16, 2024, 12:00:44 AM
Let's say you have a job that gives you the option to have your salary paid in BTC, ETC, or any other cryptocurrency, would you prefer that or would you rather still be paid in fiat? If you'd prefer crypto payment, which currency would you choose and why?

This would be your hard-earned money that can either grow on its own or shrink in value within a small time.
I’ll chose being paid in fiat still. Bitcoin has no stable value and it’s highly prone to volatility and price crash. The reason why I don’t want to risk my hard-earned funds by receiving it through bitcoin. I’ll just stick to DCA to maximize my bitcoin portfolio without risking all of my funds, that way the risk to lose is low.

Also, bitcoin is not widely accepted as a mode of payment here in our country so it would be useless to convert all my hard-earned funds into bitcoin since I won’t be able to purchase my basic needs at the nearest store. I’ll just prefer fiat in salary and just buy bitcoin using my spare money so I won’t end up panic selling whenever my fiat money is used up.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 11:41:53 PM
People should check the background or character of the people they entrust their money with, but unfortunately, some people are so good at hiding their character that they only get exposed when the deed is already done.

Temptation is really high for people to take a chance on gamblers, especially if they see a match that they figure out could give them a sure win.

This is why companies do not put people in a sensitive position dealing with money who they know to be bad at handling money or addicted to gamblers. I'm not saying they cannot be trusted; it's just that the temptation will be hard for them to resist.

Right, there should be a background check prior to entrusting the funds to him. If he has no histories in gambling or have not been in money laundering cases, then most probably he can be reliable at some point. But we all know how huge amount of money can be a root of evilness, that even a very honest person can hardly resist it. Just don’t trust other person when it comes to money, but manage it on your own to secure your funds 24/7.
