881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment, Beyond "Invest What You Can Afford to Lose" on: November 11, 2023, 09:15:45 PM
For me, we can still follow this phrase "INVEST WHAT WE CAN AFFORD TO LOSE" and just continue to do the DCA  thing if we want to maximize our bitcoin investment. It's not that we are still hesitant but as long as bitcoin remains to volatile, it will still be considered a high risk assert regardless if some of the people now consider it as a safe haven asset. Risking our money without high guarantees to end in profits is already a sign that we invest on our faith for bitcoin.

However, its also a good idea to invest what we are capable for long term hodling, but definitely let's do it with caution. Bitcoin, no matter how sound and profitable it is in the market, but when volatility strikes in and pull down the price of bitcoin, then investing it at a high caution should always be the best option.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 11, 2023, 02:19:34 PM
~snip~
As time goes by, people who gamble by relying on groups like this will realize that they should not trust easily and it is better to teach themselves how to predict results so they can be more experienced and get results consistently because they are betting based on knowledge, not subscribing to betting predictions.

Eventually, they'll realize that the outcome of their bets isn't always satisfying. Tipsters often promise guaranteed wins in sports betting, but it's important to recognize that sports betting involves gambling, and there's no assurance of winning. They may appear overly confident to attract newcomers, but we all learn from experience. Personally, I didn't subscribe to this kind of group until I learned how to gamble effectively in sports.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 11, 2023, 11:29:36 AM
I just came across another topic about how to start betting on sports, and as I was reading and researching, I came across something that suggests considering taking online courses on sports betting

I have not heard of something like that and even if it exist, what is the possibility that after such course there is a guarantee winning?

If they promise a win, that's when you should doubt their intention because there's no surefire way to win in sports betting. We all take chances, and no one can control our results except ourselves. Some say it's all luck, but you can actually learn to get better over time. Yes, that's the mindset of a serious bettor - aiming for long-term success.

People who believe that online courses guarantee a win don't truly understand what gambling is about.

In gambling, there's always a risk of losing, and that alone removes the word "guarantee."
In fact, there is no betting group or betting prediction channel that can truly provide guarantee of winning because in each bet the results can still change according to what the house edge wants.
When we talk about sports betting, let us not discuss about house edge as irrilevant IMO.

And in reality there are so many superior teams that lose to lower teams so how can betting group provide guarantee of winning, this kind of thing makes me little skeptical of those who offer betting groups with various predictions on offer.
I agree with you that win or good result depends on how we learn to make predictions and analysis of each match we are betting on.

Usually people who join and believe in online courses or betting groups are those who are not confident in their own abilities and really want to get instant predictions without any complicated learning or research.
People like this in the long run will only receive bad luck and also ruin in gambling.

It's about finding value to secure wins. However, for those who join sports betting channels with the belief that they'll win by blindly following, they may not have a sustainable future in sports betting. Relying too much on others doesn't ensure consistency. Even if they are winning initially, it doesn't guarantee ongoing success. It's known that once a tipster achieves a good winning record, the subscription fee tends to increase. Subscribers may not be aware that the tipster might have just had a lucky streak.
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 11, 2023, 10:42:27 AM

It would be disheartening if he were acquired by either SMB or TNT. That would leave Phoenix as a weaker team without a scorer like him. They already faced challenges when Matthew Wright left to play overseas, so finding someone to replace him is crucial. It seems they might have found the right person in their first game of the season. At least, Ricci is quite adept at teamwork and good in sharing the ball.

He make his impact! Now he needed consistency as some of those social media vloggers are bringing that topic regarding how inconsistent Ricci was, he needs to continue showing his aggressiveness and that kind of a team playing basketball style, if he can work more with his teammates and the coaches will allow him to keep playing with longer time, I think he personally that he can be somehow the new face of this franchise.

Unless, again both SMC and MVP will ask for him and give decent offer, we can't avoid that to happen as both are dominating the league.

SMC and MVP could make a tempting offer just to lure a player to join their team, but in the case of Ricci, he is still young, probably they are just making him matured and before a true scorer first, that's the time they'll try to sign him since their players will be getting older as well. I hope that does not happen though, if Ricci would love to make more money, better for him if he'll try to explore opportunities overseas, for sure he'll ern more than what SMB or MVP group could offer to him.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 11, 2023, 04:48:22 AM
Are you guys waiting for the betting odds on the later games? Check this out:

DYIP (+3.5) vs. Batang Pier (-3.5) = 215.5 (Total)
Road Warriors (-3.5) vs. Phoenix Fuel Masters (+3.5) = 211.5 (Total)

The first game is at 4:00 PM, and the next game is at 8:00 PM. Share your thoughts on these games now.  Cheesy

Just bet for NorthPort -3.5 @1.93 vs DYIP. Though Stephen Holt will be making his debut against NorthPort which i think that he will struggle at first adjusting to the kind of play of the PBA. The PBA is known to be physical so i think as usual they will succumb to the more talented guys of NorthPort. For me, Holt will be a force which will help DYIP but not on this game, maybe a few more games then we can see his true value to the team, i hope i'm correct on my speculation on this one hehe.

Goog pick kabayan! NP win the game leading with 5 points, close game in each end of a quarters and NP shows their capability to win taking this 1st win against the DYIP, seems that you well-read how the young DYIP will perform, sweet profit kabayan! No share for the 2nd game ? hehehe..

R.Rivero's first game, upon checking he already got 7 points not bad for his debut and still in the early 2nd half still have lots of time.

I didn't catch the game, but it seems like Ricci Rivero is proving to be a valuable addition to the team. I read an article below praising how the young players of Phoenix contributed to a comeback from a double-digit deficit and secured a double-digit victory in the end.

Phoenix young guns torch NLEX in fourth quarter

I didn't watch the game too just chech the score board but if that's what happened then it's a good start  for his career,  if he continue playing like this, chances being noticed by both SMC and MVP groups will be their knowing how good the radar of these two giant's groups,  might be cooking show behind and an intense offer that can't resist.

Too early though,  a single game won't conclude your overall performance, but can gain attention and create good positive impressions.

It would be disheartening if he were acquired by either SMB or TNT. That would leave Phoenix as a weaker team without a scorer like him. They already faced challenges when Matthew Wright left to play overseas, so finding someone to replace him is crucial. 886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 10, 2023, 11:58:24 PM
There is growing excitement in the Bitcoin community following the gains recorded by Bitcoin. The reason for this growth is hardly unconnected to rumors of Bitcoin ETF approval. Have we thought about what will happen to Bitcoin price should all the ETF get rejected? I don't want to imagine this but whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin.

There have been bull run without Bitcoin ETF and there will always be bull run even if the ETF is rejected. So even when the market temporarily nosedives if the ETF is rejected, do not panic. Once again, hold on to your Bitcoin and do not panic.
This piece of advice is most appropriate for newbies. For sure, a lot of us have been enjoying the positive price of bitcoin but I know, when bitcoin price suddenly drop again, newbies in the market will probably panic and may resort into early selling of their coins.

We should always remember that whatever the result of this bitcoin ETF, if it gets rejected, the negative effect will not stay permanently. Bitcoin may suddenly dump its price again and that's normal. But for sure it will recover easily especially that bitcoin halving is fast approaching, so we must hold on to our bitcoin and stay focused on our goal and that is to maximize our profits when bull run is set to happen.
887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: November 10, 2023, 11:33:36 PM
Are we really sure that it's not going to? I hope your analysis is wrong because I've been slowly accumulating bitcoin and I have another upcoming big money coming and I want to make sure I'm buying a lot of bitcoin for a discounted price. But hey, if that's not going to be the case, I guess I'll just buy bitcoin in December and hope that I still get a lot of bitcoin value out of the money I'm going to get.

looks like you have been too slow.  A suggestion is just keep on Dca ing even as btc slowly moves to 42k then 48k by years end.

Sky is the limit here 500k by dec 2025 is approachable.

Obviously, DCA is the key. Do not worry if bitcoin price won't touch below $25k again as that does not mean that you would stop buying bitcoin immediately. If you are here to invest for long term, then regardless if the current price is high, you would still continue to buy bitcoin at your own spare money so that you will not be left behind when everyone else around is taking a lot of profits in times of bull run while you are stuck with few number of bitcoin.

Sky is the limit when you are doing DCA. Do not fear for the current price surge for bitcoin, but fear that you don't have good amount of bitcoin when bitcoin amount has already reached its maximum price limit.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 10, 2023, 10:59:34 PM
I often read people saying they want to earn enough money so they don't have to look at price tag of product. Imo, even if you are rich you wouldn't want to spend money on things that are not worthy of price being paid.

You wanna look at product and then it's price, if it's worthy of price, you purchase the product.
This is actually a false belief. Even if you have all the means to buy, you would still want to check the price of a certain product so you can compare the prices and the quality of the product for you to be able to know which offers the best value of your money. That is not pertaining to how rich or capable you are as a consumer, but it only means that you need to assure yourself that what you bought is worthy of its price.

However, some may not consider looking at the price tags because by just looking at the quality of the product, they can decide already if its worth to buy. But people these days are becoming more practical. They will check the price tag first and decide if its worth buying or not.
889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Having no money to invest in Bitcoin is even better on: November 10, 2023, 10:35:13 PM
I've studied most Bitcoin investors, those who have money to invest are the ones going around looking for someone to teach them how to invest, the first thing they want to learn is how to use the exchange to make purchases using Fiat on the exchange, they are always in hurry, they have no time.

Those who don't have money, have all the time to keep learning and reading stuff online about Bitcoin and the crypto space, they have no reason to be in any hurry and it seems they are the ones that avoid the unnecessary dramas in the crypto space because they took their time to learn first.

Do not walk away from Bitcoin investment because you don't have the money, it's even better not to have money because you will have the patience to learn more about everything, and when the money comes, you will be able to avoid many dramas.
Having no money to invest is not actually an obstacle not to pursue and be successful on your bitcoin investment. But without knowledge and well understanding on your investment is a great barrier indeed. Even if you have the money and you use it to your advantage, that won't be enough guarantee that you will be successful on bitcoin as you need long preparation in acquiring knowledge and making you exposed on the real scenario of how bitcoin investment works.

However, not all those who have money are actually clueless about bitcoin. Some are really smarter as they are as they have studied well about bitcoin already before they decide to take the risk and risk their money despite how unpredictable bitcoin investment is. But I agree on the part that those who have no money will exert a lot of effort to study the investment first before they will decide to look for money to invest. Hard work and patience will always paid off in the end.

891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much could you earn in a day ? on: November 09, 2023, 11:42:21 PM
(....)
1. Is it possible to make 1% on a trade within a short time frame as in a few hours or a day ? Would that also inturn mean that you would make 10% on futures with a 10x leverage? I would like to elaborate more on this i just simply dont know where to begin. It would be nice if i could have a conversation with someone who has experience on the matter.
(....)
It is possible but just expect there are some days that are not good, so be careful, expect the unexpected. 1% profit in a day or hours is already good because if you sum it up and make it consistent you can be a profitable trade by just that.
So just focus and be consistent, proper risk management because expect that you will have some losses on some days.

Even more than 1% could be possible as long as you know how to win your trades, and you are smart enough to deal with the market volatility. But if you are just in the process of knowing how to trade, then do not expect even a single profit because majority of the beginners often lose than gain good profits. Trading is not easy and you might be more exposed to a lot of losses at first before you can make significant gains. That's the reason why only few have chose to continue trading, because they can't bear seeing themselves in frequent losses.

However, if you already have sufficient experience in trading, then its more expected that you will be more capable to make decent profits than make consistent losses. Trading is dealt through knowledge, skills, and working strategies and the only thing you can achieve that is through frequent trading experience.
892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: November 09, 2023, 10:58:51 PM
Hallo people,

I bought some bitcoin at 26/27/30 and 31k. all profit so far, I am thinking about buying more, but is 35k te expensive to buy bitcoin?
Right now, the price of bitcoin has already soar high to $36k and for me, its still a good buy knowing the price of bitcoin is speculated to make a massive increase in the next days and months. And as long as you don't sell lower than the price you bought bitcoin, then obviously you will never be going to lose. Just continue to do DCA and hold bitcoin for long term, hodling it for 10 years will already give you life changing profits.

However, if you are planning to sell all your coins when bull run comes, then I suggest you might probably wait for bitcoin price to drop a little so that you can still maximize your bitcoin purchase and gain bigger profits the moment you decide to sell. But to be honest, you don't have to worry with bitcoin whether you buy it at a higher price, its price will never settle for less anyway.
893  Economy / Economics / Re: Honestly do we really got rugpulled in pandemic? on: November 09, 2023, 10:41:18 PM
That season has given us the wild ride, both positive and negative and that has given the best and worst on this market and also from the world. The best is like when the exposé of those real scammers in the community that has taken sums of money from the innocent users and swindled everyone, like was successfully made us a fool that they're the angels of the market. But lo and behold, they're the real devils that have planned it all along. And going with the real world incidents, it's like an actual reset for the majority but what I don't like from this scene is that the rich became richer.   Undecided
That was really a terrible one. A lot of of new projects were hyped that time that made us really excited to invest on the high potential ones but only to find out that those development teams suddenly shut down those projects and disappear in the market. Lucky are those who were never tempted to risk their money but a lot of those who have lost their money in an instant.

This incident had made me realized that no matter how you do research on the project, that is still not enough guarantee that we will never get scammed. Scammers have become smarter and they really make sure to attract the people first until they take advantage of the investors money and left the market  taking the investors assets.
894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 08:47:54 PM
• By diversifying your portfolio with other cryptocurrencies, you can reduce your overall risk. Some altcoins may be more volatile than Bitcoin, but they may also offer the potential for higher returns.

I highly doubt that diversifying on different altcoins aside from Bitcoin will reduce risk since altcoins is more volatile than Bitcoin if we view the percentage of price change and not the value itself.

You can suffer a massive 50% loss on altcoins in just a day which you will not experience on Bitcoin. You can always use a leverage trading if you want to increase your profitability in short term instead of diversifying in altcoins that is more risky due to volatility.
That is only good if you end up with the right and sustainable altcoins but if you diversify bitcoin with random and too good to be true altcoins, then that would be a great loss on your part knowing altcoins will bring more risk of losing in your portfolio. Although some have experienced exceptional profits from some altcoins, but that is only very rare to happen because most of the time, altcoins will lead you more to losses than gains.

Diversification is not really bad as long as you know you are into coins with high potentials. But since altcoins these days are not that reliable than before, then the best decision is to stick with bitcoin. You will not lose a huge amount once you are into long term investing, and once you don't sell when the market is having a market crash or sudden price decline.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 09, 2023, 02:28:04 PM
The first game features the Bucks versus the Pacers. Both teams are playing on a back-to-back, but the Bucks have to travel for this road game. The Pacers are the underdogs with a +3 handicap, but the Pacers has been playing pretty well with a strong offense, scoring 134 points against Utah and a whopping 152 points against the Spurs. I know the Bucks are a tough team, but I like the handicap here, giving +3 to the home team. I hope it's a close game, even if the Bucks end up winning.

As for the second game, I'll pass on that one for now, but if Pacers lose, I might consider betting.  Smiley
As much as I like the Pacers, I don't see them being very competitive against the Bucks. Dame and Giannis will have great games and the Pacers youngsters are gonna have a tough challenge. They are a great young team and I think playoffs will happen for the Pacers this year, but tonight they prob cool off a little.
The Bucks managed to scrape by with a  two point victory against the Pistons, and it shows that they know how to win. That's important as they're heading to play the Pacers. I like your pick in terms of team quality; the Bucks have already proven themselves as a playoff team, while the Pacers are still relatively young and need to establish consistency in the playoffs.

Giannis isn't even playing his usual game, but he could explode at any time. Perhaps he's enjoying the current situation, having Lillard who can also carry the team, so Giannis doesn't have to shoulder the Bucks in every game.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 08, 2023, 11:58:29 PM
I would have posted this thread on my local board (Nigerian local board) but I didn't because both Nigerians and other countries can still benefit from this little business idea.
The kind of business I want to share is what is called graundnut oil making. This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high. One can even start with a little money. However, this business is also an investment. If one can dedicate more time to it, he/she can benefit from it (can make it a company).

this information shows how the demands of the graundnut oil is in my country today is.
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil, I can even invest more if I have this business and start making more money, so what are your takes in this idea?
This kind of business will only work if you are living in a country that is rich in manufacturing groundnut oil like China, India, Nigeria and Myanmar but if your country is not into it, then that kind of business will obviously not work. Your business idea is nice but the profitability is only limited to certain countries and that some countries may not actually aware that its also a good form of business.

One thing is certain with any form of investment, you need to take risk and that you also need to consider if your location is currently getting high demand on it. Otherwise, you will be wasting your money because to some other countries, this is a big business or investment already but for your own country, its just an ordinary business that is only getting minimal profits. So do your own due diligence to research first before risking your investment capital.

897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: November 08, 2023, 11:35:26 PM
If we’re already seeing upward pressure from ETFs (more likely it’s just buying the rumor at the moment) then when the announcement is made and funds start really buying we could see some massive spikes. I think it’s likely that will be the story for the next year. I look forward to waking up to big price jumps again. Smiley
Bitcoin is actually waiting for a huge news that will soon to set it into its newest all time high, and this fake ETF approval makes a good start for bitcoin price to start an upward price position regardless if the news is legit or not. With this, the more we become motivated to look forward when the time comes that SEC has legally approved this bitcoin ETF.

The current events make us realize that the market only need big and significant news for bitcoin price to start some massive spikes. And the good thing is the market is in store for big events in the next couple of months and we can't just hide the excitement when everything works in accordance with our plan when that bull run is finally here and bitcoin price is now to set on its new all time high.

It's like you want to hype Dogecoin again when all we know is that it has lost its golden days in crypto. But if you have really that effective strategy that you are sure that it's going to make us profitable, then why not elaborate it more so that the forum can also testify it if its really a good strategy or not or you are just promoting your own team to attract some naive investors and eventually fall on your trap.

This is not new in the market advertising that they have better strategies than others. But one thing is certain, if that is really effective and is working successfully on you and on your team, then you just have to keep it all by yourself and focus on how to grow your profits. Not that you are going to attract other traders to follow your strategy and end up losing because they were using a strategy blindly without assuring if its really working or not.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Plan to Make the Most of Your Bitcoin Investment Before the Halving? on: November 08, 2023, 10:34:02 PM
The only plan I have right now is to continue DCA while the market is still giving us opportunities to accumulate more bitcoin before bitcoin halving takes place. Bitcoin price might eventually continue to surge high when bitcoin halving is over and that going back to its low price might be hard anymore. That's why by never stopping from doing DCA, at least little by little my bitcoin portfolio will be filled in through spending an amount that I can still afford to lose.

While others have resorted into investing in altcoins as well to maximize their investment profits, but for me I only trust bitcoin so instead of adding some altcoins or shitcoins into my portfolio, most probably I'll just have to deal and lessen the risk through sticking to bitcoin as my crypto investment.
900  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 08, 2023, 09:58:33 PM
We often advise newcomers asking about successful Bitcoin investment strategies to have a well-structured plan and stick to it no matter what. Nevertheless if there is anything I have learned is that in bitcoin investment it  is rarely a linear journey. And despite our best intentions and meticulous planning, unforeseen circumstances can disrupt our initial plans. For the community I want to know, has your investment plan always unfolded as expected or have unexpected events caused you to pause or modify your plan? Despite our best efforts there are instances where sticking rigorously to a plan becomes challenging due to the unpredictable nature of life.
Well, with such a volatile and unpredictable investment like bitcoin, changes are more fixed than sticking to your well-structured plan. No matter how you try to pursue the success of your investment by following your original plan, there are always instances that have turned into challenges that will try to ruin your investment plan and that you are left with no choice than to change or reverse so as not to harm your total investment.

While this is not a good option for majority but sometimes its also healthy to change your investment plan at some point because by taking a little risk, you are going to free yourself from market panicking, and instead you can stick to your long -term investment goal as how you imagined it from the start. At the end of the day, modifying your original plan is still not a bad thing if its the only way so you can achieve your original goal in your investment.
