261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: your perception about gambling on: March 03, 2024, 11:36:23 PM
Gambling is for everyone, not just men or women. But because there are prohibitions from many religions, some people think about staying away from gambling.
Even though they stay away from gambling, there are still many people who continue to gamble because they think that gambling is a place that can give them a lot of money in a short time. But actually, this is not the case because by thinking like that, many of them lose and lose their money in gambling.
This ban on gambling came from each country agreeing to prohibit its citizens from gambling because the government saw that many of its citizens were addicted to gambling because their citizens often gambled without self-control.
But this gambling problem is a problem for each person, and they are the ones who decide whether to gamble or not. Even though the state prohibits it, they will still gamble.
We all have points and views about gambling, but to be certain, for those who are prohibiting theirselves from gambling, its not that they don’t want to gamble their money, but because they are not broad enough to understand the design of gambling. They often see gambling to lose money and eventually make someone addicted and mess his life. But in reality, it’s not gambling that make us addicted, but it’s on how we handle and perceive gambling urge. We can gamble for fun, and to make us relieved from stress or anxiety, but for those who are losing too much, I should say that they don’t understand the essence of gambling from the start.

Now, religion is also another reason, but if you are really a gambler, no religion can ever control you, because if you really want to stop gambling, it’s already deep within you that will motivate yourself not to gamble anymore.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC profit taking strategies? on: March 03, 2024, 10:48:58 PM

Anyways, the strategy I'm considering is something like, when BTC crosses $100K CAD, (it's currently at $83K CAD) I plan on selling 0.01 BTC per week. Kind of like DCA but in reverse. Then possibly increasing that amount alongside BTC value, so if it crosses $125K, sell 0.0125 BTC per week, 0.015 per week at $150K, etc.

Instead of selling 0.01BTC per week, why not sell them all when it reaches your target price?
In fact, you actually know the volatility of the market and its unpredictable price. What if the price will no longer move higher over $100k and it drops again, are you gonna hold or sell?

If you BTC OP at $60k last bull season, even selling them at $100k or $90k is already a huge profit. I don't think it ever satisfies you. Remember, greediness was not bad but if there is too much greediness, that is not right anymore.
 - it should be planned well and make decisions that we never have to regret. If your strategy is working effectively, then stay with it.
I don’t see any problem with OP’s strategy but I believe if he is certainly looking for  bigger returns, then selling his bitcoins all in when bitcoin bull run hits the market is the perfect time. That way, he will gain massive amount of profits in just one time selling. Now, when the market turns to bearish again, that’s the time he will start buying back again with a lower price and continue with DCA. Always follow the basic, buy low and sell high. With that, you will never go wrong with that simple strategy.

However, everyone has individual strategy when it comes to profiting from our own investments. I will not say follow this or follow that because not all that works for me works for you too. But as long as you never sell at a lower position, that may seem good enough.
263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: March 03, 2024, 09:59:18 PM

And are you still looking for patterns that you think will work in the long run for you.

No, there is no pattern that will continue to work. I have tried using the Martiangel method, at first it worked but after that it often failed. I think casino algorithms are designed to change according to the hash or house edge, so it's impossible for there to be a method that always works

I prefer to gamble using feelings alone, no special tricks or strategies needed. Just play and enjoy the game, winning or losing is normal in gambling and if you don't want to lose then don't try to gamble
Its impossible to see pattens in all forms of gambling games because it’s always the house should always win. So I never assume from the start that what works for me now might continue to work the following days. Gambling is always luck-based no matter where angle we’ll see it, so once you’re out of luck you will never win the game. But if you feel the instinct that you’ll be lucky today, then try to chase some profits but always gamble on the amount you are comfortable of losing, that way you can limit it or control your losses whenever games end up on opposite direction.

There might be patterns that may seem effective one or two days but expect that it won’t be happening again the rest of the days. But probably in investing, patterns may work overtime.

264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 03, 2024, 03:35:59 PM

LeBron breaking records is really fun because we are witnessing history in a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and we should cherish that. Not being a kj here, but the problem with LeBron breaking records is that the Lakers are winning those games. When he breaks Kareem's record against OKC, they lose. Then today, against Denver, they lost again. I am not saying that LeBron is the problem here; I think it is the Lakers' inconsistency. Maybe we can say that some of the Lakers players don't want to exert that much effort in these games because LeBron's record should be the priority, but it should not; they must eye for the bigger prize, which is the trophy.

Also, when was the last time the Lakers won against the Denver? The Lakers are 0-7 against the Denver since the sweep in the Western Conference Finals up to this season. They are getting outcoached once again in the 4th, which is also one of their problems in the WCF.

NBA is getting softer and less defensive as meta of every team unlike before which defense is priority and crucial to win the game. Right now, NBA is more shooting perimeter shots to win the games and leaving defense open and just recover to it through scoring. With this kind of playing style, I think someone in the new era can break records easily.

The only unique for LBJ is his great physique which is very impressive considering his age. Some basketball players with great talent will have multiple injury that affects tha5 game but Lebron is very good on protecting his body to maintain this kind of performance until now.

That's how the game has evolved now; we have to accept the reality and not go back to the past. People who were not born in that era would not be able to compare, so they'll love the present. Basketball, after all, is just a game; it doesn't need to be physical. Besides, fans come to see their favorite players, particularly the star players, so less physical games would lessen the risk of getting injured.

Also, nowadays, the treatment is more modern, so if a player gets injured, he will not miss a long period of time to return unless it's a serious injury like a season-ending one. Speaking of LeBron, he is just exceptional. He is a great example of a player who knows how to value his asset; he invests in his body, so now, despite his age, he can still be competitive and lead his team.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 03, 2024, 12:13:00 PM
The second game, by the way, is between Northport and Converge. These teams are just playing against each other with a little rest; the giant teams haven't come out yet, probably given enough time to rest as they finished late last season. SMB, Ginebra, Magnolia, and Phoenix, these teams haven't played yet.
Converge had 11 points lead after the first half. We might see the same scenario in the first game, so I think betting on Northport is the right play.

This might be different from the first game as Converge is slowly pulling away here. From an 11-point lead now up to 15 points. I guess Northport might be a little tired here, so I don't find it easy for them to come back from this huge deficit.

Tolentino is leading Northport, but with 15 points only, while on Converge, they have Stockton and Arana who scored 17 and 18 points, respectively. I would not take the high handicap here as it might only increase my losses. Guess we just have to finish watching this game and prepare to analyze the NBA games tomorrow. After this, PBA will resume on its normal schedule, which will start on Wednesday.

Wait a minute, this is not over yet as Northport had a big run in the 4th quarter. From a 15-point deficit, now it's only down to 5 points, and we have a ball game here. They might even get a win here; I'm optimistic. There's still plenty of time, so it's possible.

PBA games so far are very unpredictable; it's never over until the clock turns to zero. Good luck. I hope Converge will choke, or maybe we will see another overtime game tonight.
266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 03, 2024, 11:18:04 AM
Congrats to all those who win and for those who ake the favorite, just need to move forward and try to find another potential game that may give you opportunity to bounce back and recover.

The betting continues today. The first game has already started between NLEX vs. DYIP. NLEX is enjoying a 10-point lead after the first quarter and the score is 57-47, but this is far from over yet. There's still the 2nd half, and anything can happen, so I would bet on DYIP here with a handicap of +8.5.

Congratulations, that was a good catch. Not only did they cover the +8.5, but they did more than that by winning the game with a final score of 99-95. The second half was all DYIP, especially the fourth quarter. So again, trash teams making a good start here. I think both DYIP and Blackwater are already 2-0 so far.

267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 02, 2024, 11:59:33 PM

Today i decided to try one of my sweet predictions in the EPL games. So, i predicted in 4 matches and placed my net. However, during this time i watched my games played so well but two games were holding it and i felt i would lose this game. It was already 83 minutes and i needed these games to play at 87 minutes i gave up and decided to cashout the amount i used to stake since it was the amount that was showing there. I thought it was clear and instead of losing i should rather just get my money back. Just in 15 minutes after i checked the live score and found out that the game played. I felt so angry and unhappy because i have not trusted my instincts if not i wouldn't have cashed out at that time.
That's why it's called gambling, as there is no certainty to what might happen in the game and that's why the hard choice and call to take is always meant to be decided by you. Gambling is a game of luck and sometimes a game of mind because it's that risk that you take will show how gamble minder you are. And again if I were you I wouldn't be surprised at all because even the times that we might decide to go strong like a gambler and leave the game we still find out that the result ended in a loss.
Gambling never favors the bettors but the edge is always on the house. So never get confused if ever you still end up losing despite how effective gambler you are. And in terms of cash outs, know that it’s not always to secure part of your winnings or cut your losses, but it’s a casino trick to prevent you from winning big after the game is played. Most especially if gamblers are in doubt of what will be the outcome of the game, some resort into cash out  and by then, they are closing their active bets and lose the chance of winning in the end.

Gambler’s instincts could sometimes be right or wrong, but if you are a responsible gambler, you will not ignore part of your instinct but will evaluate it first before applying it into your bets.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 02, 2024, 11:36:22 PM
Do you really think people of nowadays obeys this principle?
Yeah, it could be very hard to obey and follows some gambling ethics because everyone wants to become rich overnight by engaging themselves into gambling day and night without even thinking the bad effect it would caused them to constantly gamble. Gambling should be done to ease either ones stress or a spare time where you aren't that occupied or having something important to do than doing it when not needed.

Immediately a gambler starts incurring lost in gambling their interest keeps increasing because they would want to sum up their lost and whenever it's done and they noticed their lost is much you will noticed they will increase their gambling ratio just to make sure that their money didn't go that way by keep increasing their gambling methods. As a gambler all these should be avoided as well otherwise addiction is inevitable.
People often see gambling as a get rich quick so regardless of any principle, people chose to pursue gambling to satisfy their own personal gains and interest. Even legends in gambling are sometimes hard to resist their gambling urge even if the situation is unfavorable. That’s the reason why they still lose despite of their long years of experience and gambling expertise.

However, there’s nothing we can lose if we also abide with these principles. In fact, knowing when not to gamble lessen the risk of losing, but I doubt if addicted gamblers will listen to this. Because as far as I know, once you start seeing gambling as a means to immediate profits, regardless of the current situation, this gambler will still continue betting even if he knows it’s quite impossible to win consistently in gambling.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 02, 2024, 10:36:09 PM
I don't think there is anything that I can disagree about with those statements, I mean, people have different ways of betting that suit their style of betting perfectly and it is best for people to use the strategy that they are comfortable with. some of the listed statements might work for me and some might not work but that doesn't mean I disagree with it.
I agree all of them except for #2. Betting amount should be based on your own instinct and knowledge on that game. If you think you are quite hesitant on a certain game, then bet lesser amount on it and put a bigger amount on a game that you are more familiar and skilled. However, this differs based on everyone’s preference in betting. You can still bet the same amount if you like, but make sure that you bet on the amount you can afford to lose.

Being a gambler, we all have different betting strategies and preferences. But one thing is certain, we usually don’t bet on the game that we know nothing, since the risk to lose is obviously high no matter how we say gambling is luck based. And we often bet on our favorite game on which the probability to win is high and more achievable.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling still pays regardless of our losses on: March 02, 2024, 09:33:20 PM
So you say you don't expect to win when you gamble? Cool, that's a chill way to approach it, focusing on the fun rather than getting hung up on winning. But let's be honest, deep down, everyone secretly hopes to win, right?

Gambling is risky, and pretending you're not in it for the win can be a slippery slope. It's like trying to convince yourself you don't want dessert while staring at a giant chocolate cake. Instead of this "not expecting to win" thing, be realistic. Know the odds are against you, and prepare to lose. That way, you won't be crushed if it happens, and winning will be a sweet surprise. The key is to keep it casual. Enjoy the game, set limits, and don't go overboard financially.
To gamble is to make profits, and then fun eventually follows. That is the reality in gambling. Even if you say you’re not in for the jackpot prize, but in reality we all long for it that’s why we keep risking some of our funds hoping to win such huge amount. But never forget that to gamble is to lose as well. The house has always an edge over its players, and no matter how professional we are in gambling, still there are no excuse from losing.

Just accept the fact that when you gamble, expect some wins and losses. Don’t say that despite of your losses, you still make an unexpected winnings. Winning is expected already, as much as losing is.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I was able to donate Books to school pupils with my little Campaign Bitcoin on: March 02, 2024, 08:42:23 PM
It's very kind of you to donate books, pens, pencils and drinks to school pupils. I have seen similar threads and I am glad that bitcoin becomes inspiration for many people to start a charity to promote it.

Just keep in mind that probably first photo with Vendeta mask and the last photo might not be the best photos to show kids. By the way, some illustration and basic questions are a good idea to make kids interested in Bitcoin. The rest depends on them, they are too young to get interested in Bitcoin but small introduction will probably revive a lit to acquire more knowledge about Bitcoin, blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies.
This is a very noble act of yours OP. I know you’re not wealthy enough but you still manage to share to the kids part of your income. Just continue doing it and I’m sure whatever your objectives in doing that will be finally realized in the future. Now, I’ve also seen those pictures and yes, I think those are quite scary to look so children might hate it instead of liking it. Hehe but no worries, what you did is still very exceptional. Your small act as of today becomes a big help not only for the children but to the school as well and to the parents of the kids.

Bitcoin is quite a complicated topic most especially for young innocent minds. But you make it easier for them and those question and answer portion you’ve made, they will surely remember those when they are mature enough to understand bitcoin and its function in the financial industry.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it time now to use Premium VPN when playing in the casino? on: March 02, 2024, 03:01:50 PM
I wouldn't do that; some gambling sites are also strict with using VPN as that would not reveal our correct location. With the advent of KYC nowadays, the implementation is already strict, and they want us to provide our real location while we are gambling. Using a VPN may only put our account in trouble, or scammer gambling sites may use it against us and claim that we have violated the Terms of Service.

If the problem is only because you might have a friend gambling on the same casino or gambling site that might use your IP, then you should restrict your IP for your own usage only. You can avail a static IP from your ISP and make it strictly for your personal transactions, particularly in gambling.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing at gambling on: March 02, 2024, 02:21:51 PM
...
It's true, I wasn't quite sure of the wording myself, which is why I added the savings. It's more liquid.

Wasting savings with gambling Is a big big mistake. I don't know if its a general rule get a divorce that bad mistake (love Is blind) but for sure its not a basic issue.
I have a general rule. Gambler only with money/ values that you are ready to trash as rubbish. If you have not these...you have not Money for gambling Wink

Same with me, I would not directly think of divorce as a consequence of the problem. Love is not blind, though; if we love the person, we are willing to forgive. After all, that's just money; together, we can earn that money loss, but we have to sacrifice, as that is the consequence of the wrong action. When you are married, you become one, so a mistake of your wife could be your loss too. There's nothing to do but to forgive and start over again.
274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Technical Analysis Really Work? on: March 01, 2024, 11:58:46 PM
Eumm.. it doesn't seem to work for most coins, especially coins with low liquidity. Even for Bitcoin, it is only suitable for long-term analysis, because until now I believe more in market manipulation than in technical analysis. It's a little crueler, but it's true, no matter how clever we are at drawing charts, believe me it won't guarantee good accuracy in the short term.

In bullish and bearish moments such as high candlesticks in one day, it is really not in control of the picture on the chart. But more often it is present because something special is happening at that time.
Relying on technical analysis when trading is never 100% sure. As a trader, you need to back up yourself with skills and good experience in the market, and small amount of luck as well as we can never predict the future price of bitcoin and its market position. In addition, if you are only good with technicalities but not equipped with fundamentals and sentiments in the market, you will never win a trade.

Trade only when you are equipped with full package, otherwise your efforts to trade and risk of funds will only go into waste. That's why never trade if you think you're not ready and good enough.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mom won 50,000$ in Lottery on: March 01, 2024, 02:44:24 PM
She realized after her son told her that the mother had completed the 10-word puzzle and this can be said to be an unexpected win who thought it was $5000 but in reality it was $50,000 who wouldn't be happy with the news of this win.

What is more admirable is that she is thinking about the future with her investment, I read the article a little touched because she consulted with investment finance so that she can use this fund well, after all she did not think of a party after this victory.

Most lotto winners might not think of investments; instead, they may focus on how to spend the money they won. This woman is smart, and she deserved to be lucky because she knows how to increase her money through investment. The fact that she consulted an expert clearly shows that she wants the money to not be wasted on the wrong investments. Good luck to her future; maybe she'll achieve more financial success through the winnings from the lottery. It's a good stepping stone for her, a wise choice of decision after the win.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 01, 2024, 02:20:16 PM
Looks like farm teams are having a great start. In their opening, Blackwater beat the Bolts, and now it's the DYIP that beat Converge. My bet lost, and I have to double that on the next game. With that said, I'm betting on the Road Warriors to win by -2.5.

I'm also interested on betting the over 203.5 ( no push that way). And,... Northport over 102.5

Good luck guys, have a great evening. Game will start at 7;30 pm/

We're witnessing a very entertaining game now between these two. NLEX started strong, but Northport was able to have a good run, and now they are only trailing by 1 point. As for the total points of this game, the pregame odds are still almost the same, so that's fun since it's still in the 3rd quarter, and there's a chance that in the 4th quarter they'll score more due to a possible increase in fouls committed, as it's a close game. If this game goes to OT, that would be a huge bonus for the over.

Already in the 4th quarter now, and it's now Northport that is leading the game, but it's still a manageable lead. So yes, OT is possible here, and the over will hit easily. Enjoy the action, guys, as this All-Filipino is also entertaining to watch. By the way, I have my bet on Northport here, and I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. Hopefully, it will not change, but I cannot be sure here since there's still plenty of time.
And it has changed now. NLEX is now taking the lead, but as you mentioned, it's a close game, and either team could win. Let's have another extra minutes in overtime, why not? This is a good matchup, and we deserve to have fun. But I would always want NLEX to win by at least 3 points.

The over/under now is not certain, please more fouls to come....

Edit : and the game went to OT... I just need a 3 point win now for NLEX.
over  203.5 will win.,   Northport (should be NLEX) over 102.5(although miss typed) will win

Nice win! It indeed went to overtime, and NLEX won, covering the spread. The final score is 107-100. The spread was covered, and the team total and the overall total as well. Nice bounce back after losing the first game. Bolick is enjoying his role here with NLEX; he was the best player of the game.

What can we expect from this team this All Filipino Cup? Is their lineup enough to be a playoff team? They have some veterans on the team and good defensive players like Semerad and Anthony, and we know that these two always plays hard on the court, but Bolick should lead the team.

278  Economy / Economics / Re: Beginner questions on: March 01, 2024, 12:41:04 PM
You have the wrong idea that Bitcoin is in a stock exchange, it is in an exchange but cryptocurrency exchanges, not in stocks because BTC is not stocks. For eToro, I think they are treating it as stocks. Is that why you have set that?

For your question with $250, you would lose that value depending on the percentage of losses that you have. In spot markets, it would be directly proportional, like if it goes down 10%, you would lose $25, something like that. If $250 is all your position.

You can purchase BTC and HODL it on your own even if it's zero in value. The digital part is that you still own it.
There is no worrying if you invest in bitcoin and hold it for long term. Even if the price drops down to zero value, you can still say that you still have your investment. However, you need to hold it longer until the price recovers and reaches its new resistance level. Until you decide not to sell your bitcoin, you will never lost your position.

However, different thing when it comes to stocks. They have this mandatory delisting when those stocks become worthless anymore to its investors. With this, the investor loses eventually his investments when they drop down to zero value. Which is totally opposite from bitcoin investment.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: March 01, 2024, 11:28:28 AM
Behavioral change is common depending on the mood or what happened to your day and not just related to gambling. There times that you'll win or lose in gambling, there are times that you are happy, irritable or frustrated, but it's important to be aware and of these behavioral changes and potential impact on ourselves or those around us.

This is true because it will make us a bad person. We get sad or frustrated, but that's it; we have to move on and continue gambling if we still can. But if we are still in the situation many times that we are having a hard time to move on, then accept early that gambling is not for us; otherwise, it will only destroy our lives and people around us.

We have to view gambling as entertainment, not a way to take us out of poverty, as although it's possible, it's hard to achieve such a goal through gambling, and most of the time, it will only lead to more problems. It happened to some gamblers, so it's not impossible to happen to us. The key here is to determine its risk and prevent things that might result in regret in the end.
280  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is sharing insights the key to better trading? on: February 29, 2024, 11:46:23 PM
You are able to introduce that bitget thing everytime you discuss some topics. I'd applaud you for that because it doesn't seem that it is noticeable.

As for shared insights from the community, it does help an individual but also, it might cause a panic to someone who's just reading those insights.
I think there are other users too who shill that exchange but they are way too obvious. I guess it's because their sentence are only short while this one here or every time the OP writes, isn't.

Even though it can also be considered as a shill but he is doing it carefully though I do not know if this is still not acceptable or not?

Anyways, on topic now, I am just wondering on why you said sharing insights can cause a panic to someone else? Is it like they are going to FOMO because the insights is too good? But, why not? As long as it's not hoax and then those listeners already have a good experience on how to use it, they will be just fine.
Sharing and learning from those insights, and eventually enhance trading skills is always a good thing in trading. You cannot share what you have not learned, and you cannot perform trading well without skills and experience in the market. Those who are in panic mode definitely do not understand the insights they have been receiving. They just trade without without proper comprehension and market analysis.

However, FOMOing is not new in the market most likely when others are shilling. But if you think you are FOMOing in good reason, and as long as you’ll trade for profits and not with losses, that will never cause a problem.
