This should be fine now.

Im getting "API calls quota exceeded!". That happened after I unsuccessfully tried logging in from my mobile phone, it just wouldnt load the page, so I hit reload a few times and was then greeted by that error. An hour later on my PC I still get that error. Im guessing this is related to the DDoS measures but it seems a bit overly stringent.

I might be interested in a few if you can sell a PSU along with it. Might take 3 to 5 units.

newcomers might get carried away by up to date facts too. After all these years, many people still dont understand the fundamentals of mining. Even people that have been around for years often fail to understand that as long as there is a profit to be made from mining, its going to be exploited by the asic manufacturers either via sales, or self mining; not their customers and especially not those customers' investors.

As for cryptx, scoring it as a predicted ponzi is simply incorrect, I dont see how an untruth could be more helpful than the truth. It was legit, even if it was a terrible investment.

And yes, rumors of my death have been slightly exaggerated Wink. Ive just been fed up with signal to noise ratio on this board.

I see someone else has been updating the list; I dont really mind that, but please keep in mind the list isnt what matters most, its the rationale behind it. I fear having a list of "least worst" mining securities draws in investments that will still end up generating losses as cloud mining investment remains a stupid idea that  overall can not yield a BTC denominated profit. The only profits to be had are short term flipping or exploiting the greater fool theory.

Also, I have not been following the mining/ponzi scene for quite some time, but at least one in that updated list is incorrect. Cryptx was never a ponzi. It was a hugely overpriced mining bond that I predicted would result in terrible losses, but that doesnt make it a ponzi. Even though I was the most vocal, if not only voice warning investors that it was a monumentally stupid investment at that time, it scored 0 in my assessment, and that was appropriate then, still is today.  Much like GigaVPS once upon a time, and not entirely unlike Cex.io it was one of the more honest and transparent offers; you cant blame the issuers for investors willing to pay 5-10x more than what it could realistically yield in mining dividends.

Please keep it as it was, along with amhash it serves as a good reminder that good scores on this ponzi assessment list say nothing about the likelihood of producing a profit. A good understanding of the zero sum mining game and the economics of producing vs selling asics is a far better predictor.

btw, even though the latter website may still be up, bitcoincloudservices and minerslab have already collapsed. Im sure there are more on that list that are already defunct.

seems to be ok now. I still stand by my criticism though, outages you are aware off should be visible somewhere, and a nice to have feature would be to an opt-in email when the problems are resolved.

Also, any progress on the other features I requested ? Like returning the qr code so I can load bitcoins from my mobile phone and a clear overview of used/ remaining card limits.

thx.

The balance of all my cards is set to zero and the transaction history is empty. I assume there is again a problem with the bank connection or something?

This is annoying as these kind of problems are happening all too often,  and what is not helping, is that no where on the website, twitter or facebook I can read about the current status
27  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: October 06, 2015, 02:40:51 PM
ok, I stand corrected, for some reason I had convinced myself the limit was 2500, but its 1000 so that would explain. Ill look in to getting verified; how long does that process typically take?
28  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: October 06, 2015, 11:40:32 AM
apparently its not just loading. I cant pay with my card either, neither online nor at a POS.

the card should work fine now

Well, yes and no. It worked when I tried a small online purchase yesterday with my EUR card, but when I tried to withdraw some cash today, I got 'card refused' (balance is plenty). Ive not tried at a POS simply because I find it embarrassing to have a card refused at checkout.

I figured perhaps I had exceeded the limits on my unverified card, but I did the sums of all ATM transactions (the website is very unhelpful in figuring out totals or how close you are to the limits, I needed to add them up manually), I got to 980 euro, well below the 2500 limit. Even the overall sum is below €2500

So whats going wrong?

[
P.S. Have around $79 (after the EUR card order) in my e-coin account. Tried to load my USD card with $70 - "Service unavailable - try again later". Tried with $50 - "Service unavailable - try again later".

Same problem here, and I have a physical card. Its been a few days, and OP hasnt been online here for a few days. An update would be nice.

They can always run off with your money, any company that holds your funds, can. They may or may not get away with it,  history suggests they probably can, but thats besides the point. The real point here is that while legitimate companies might scam you, the ponzi's will.

still better than a ponzi operator who has no other option than to run. Or resort to dust payouts so you people like yourself can still pretend its "paying".

Cool idea. Im gonna sell PBmining tshirts.

Last time I checked, admittedly some time ago, pbmining was also still "paying out". Likewise, if you actually read this thread, you'll find that most people are receiving dust, and with no sensible explanation as to what the payout is based on. If you want to throw away money in the hope of maybe getting a random return, there are better options.

yet you mention Cloudminr.io?

Its not just a mention, its a referral link. To selectively quote the OP: "Dont trust *anyone* with a referral link".
38  Economy / Securities / Re: [KRYPTOLOGIKA] Trade silver-backed hash power for the best prices! on: April 24, 2015, 09:32:28 PM
I still link his 101 thread to newbies asking if some shit scam site is legit, but it's complicated...
My judgement on Puppets thread would be something like this:
1) It is very helpful for newbies and kids not to not lose their money on shitty scammers, because there are always shills on dedicated ANN threads that promote how legit and why so this scam is.
2) For members and higher people here that thread is irrelevant because given the same criteria most likely they would place the points differently, not even talking about that the criteria for legitness might be different in some cases.

Im actually completely fine with that; in fact, its basically the point Im trying to get across: do your own due diligence, and feel free to use my criteria as a guide. Thats way more important than looking at the list.

That said, while its good to weigh importance of criteria individually and not just tally them like I do, I chose my criteria for a reason, and will defend all of them. The reality is that l3sny barely complies with any of them, especially the most crucial ones about ownership of hashrate. Its even worse than not knowing, we do know he lost ownership of most of the hashrate he did have. So why you would just trust him nonetheless? Even if you overlooked my disclaimers,  the AM/AMhash debacle should have learned us that complying with all or nearly all 101 criteria isnt enough and still doesnt guarantee you much. Why would you feel confident about a service that doesnt even come close to that?
Of course its possible l3sny wont scam you, but why take the risk?
39  Economy / Securities / Re: [KRYPTOLOGIKA] Trade silver-backed hash power for the best prices! on: April 23, 2015, 08:19:48 PM
you seem an honest guy

Dont all scammers appear to be honest before they run off? Didnt pirate have an all time record trust rating ? Forget appearances, look at the facts. Why would an honest guy not disclose the source of the hashrate he sells, why would he not provide any evidence he currently owns any non trivial amount of hashrate, be it physical or otherwise, why didnt he want me to disclose 90% of "his" hashrate was just an overpriced AMhash passthrough - which has since gone defunct ?
Just because he says he will ship you $15 worth of silver per TH if you pay up to  $30 in shipping?
