21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [dPoW] [ZEX] ZADDEX - Peer to Peer Hybrid Exchange on: November 20, 2018, 05:07:23 PM
I know dpos but never heard dpow before.

What is it? Only some people can mine coins with their cpus? And are they getting this right with votes of token holders? So there should be token share like dpos with voters right?

It is a checkpointing system used to prevent 51% attacks on low hashrate chains.   No special mining rights are conferred on zex chain

I am wanting to download the latest agama wallet.
Are there any hashes for the downloads?

Thanks in advance,
Toda.

www.github.com/KomodoPlatform/Agama/releases has the sha256 checksum and virustotal scans

Please elaborate on the purpose of this coin. The description is only a couple sentences long and doesn't really explain anything.
Thanks

Fee payment coin for zaddress exchange that hopes to be Dex enabled. Buy back and burn.  It's on their website and whitepaper

it's just the simplest way to instamine

If they wanted to instamine they could have done that with the Komodo blockchain creator
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: November 06, 2018, 02:59:23 AM
don't talk nonsense, AGAMI doesn't have this option

https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/offline/running-myetherwallet-locally.html

the creators of OS, viruses and antivirus programs can steal your key from Agama

You can both run offline and sign offline transactions with agama .  Enable advanced features in settings.  Any other baseless FUD you got for me to shut down?
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PIRATE] Pirate cash on: October 23, 2018, 08:03:29 AM
Lmao

Pirate.black

I propose to call my project "Pirate Cash" but the coin will be called PIRATE. These are really two different projects. When I was looking for the name PIRATE was not on CoinMarketCap.

Why not launch PIRATE cash as a PoW, zk snarks, Z only 100% anonymous coin, you could do this in 10 minutes launching an asset chain on komodo platform and be a hero, change a few parameters from the original PIRATE asset chain like coin supply or block time and you could become as influential and respected in the komodosphere as Charlie Lee is in the cryptosphere. PIRATE Cash could be the silver to PIRATE's gold!

Just using the pirate name makes you look like a douche bro

Could launch it as PoS as well
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 list of working pools/Fork updates on: October 23, 2018, 05:46:59 AM
The problem with PIRATE is that you either hold (buggy wallet) or sell directly to people (eg on Discord channel). There is no exchange currently (or soon) accepting it. Too many unknowns to waste hashing power for elusive gains.

Wallet works fine for me.  About to be on a small CEX soon.  Pirate has an open buy order of 0.1KMD. Hardly elusive gains.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PIRATE] A zk-SNARKS only blockchain, Tor, secured by dPoW and BTC hashrate on: October 23, 2018, 05:27:52 AM
One suggestion to PIRATE dev team, can you add mergetoaddress command into the agama gui wallet? I tried using the command to consolidate my mining utxo using the adama cli but keep getting errors. Usability would definitely go up a lot for novice PIRATES if they can easily merge utxo to speed up transaction times.

If you don't mergetoaddress regularly tx times can be hours if you are combing lots of small mining payouts.

Goto settings you can access the CLI from there
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PIRATE] Pirate cash on: October 22, 2018, 06:37:00 AM
how is this project keeping the anonymity and privacy ?

Looks like a transfercoin/dash clone so probably darksend and tor
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KMDICE] [dPoW] KMDice - First minable decentralized dice game. on: October 22, 2018, 01:44:13 AM
how to mine?

Build Komodo , then use the command at the beginning of the ANN

KMD is a verry technical coin. But its sad it got one big flaw in its current setup.

The Trusted Setup is a vital part of what makes KMD work. Kmd is a coin to use a implementation of a cryptographic proof called zk-SNARKs (SNARKS for short). These SNARKS are the engine that can quickly and efficiently verify a transaction and add it to the blockchain without revealing any details to the public. The tricky thing about these SNARKS is that (like many algorithms) they need to have a one time setup. And the reason that this setup is called the “Trusted Setup” is because you have to trust that whoever generated those keys destroyed them when they were done.

The Keys give "God powers" with the keys its possible to create free KMD for yourself. Because the SNARKS implementation also hide the supply. No one will notice if the keys are beying misused.

i get what your saying. the algo eqihash was used by zcash and they did the same thing. they had multiple trusted people that were given part of the keys. are you saying that kmd did not do this?

interested in this.

thanks

The equihash algorithm is a PoW algorithm and as such doesn't have anything to do with zk-SNARKS. The keys related to zk-SNARKS that KMD uses are the same as Zcash uses. zk-SNARKS are related to only the privacy aspects of KMD and doesn't define the Platform at all. There is dPOW that Einsteinium and Game-Credits projects have adopted to protect from 51% attacks. Then there is the Komodo Custom Consensus Framework that allows for contracts which is currently under development/testing. There are on-chain token generation, on-chain faucet, dice, and Rewards contracts that are already working. So if people can trust the Zcash privacy mechanism, then they can extend the same trust to Komodo's Privacy mechanism as they are exactly the same.

so sab is saying kmd used zk-snarks for the privacy mechanism and in order to do that, kmd had to generate private keys at the begining and kmd has those keys and can use the zk-snarks mechanism to basically generate tokens at will - is this correct?

There is no way to know. If they have or have not destroyed the keys properly. There is also no way to see directly if KMD are created out of thin air, this is not vissible because the supply is hidden.

You still don't get it do you? KMD did not create zk-snarks, read:

https://captainaltcoin.com/zk-snarks-privacy/

https://blockonomi.com/zk-snarks-privacy/

https://komodoplatform.com/privacy-zero-knowledge-proofs/

Show me the proof that the keys are destroyed? I bet you cant.

Perhaps this will help answer your question:

https://komodoplatform.com/faq/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6dY-3x3teM

"To create the Zcash parameters, the original Zcash developers had to create a series of keys that, when combined, created a master key that could unlock and lock the parameters. After using the master key to create the parameters, the team destroyed every individual key. The team conducted this endeavor in a public manner. We encourage interested readers to view the Zcash Ceremony explanation on YouTube, and to search for other viewpoints as well."

"To briefly summarize the security measures, the Zcash team used several layers of protection including: multi-party computation, air-gapped compute nodes, hard-copy evidence trails, a uniquely crafted distribution of the Linux operating system, and the physical destruction of each piece of hardware that held an individual key. The resulting layers of defense would be of the highest level of difficulty for an outsider to penetrate. Furthermore, the method of creation and destruction ensured that the internal security of the project was faultless, so long as at least one member of the entire Zcash team was honest.

By our observation, the team performed this endeavor with sufficient competence and due diligence. Furthermore, given the nature of the project, the longstanding reputation of the Zcash developers, and the modus operandi of their lives’ work, we believe they were properly motivated to perform the creation and destruction in a capable and honest manner.

Nevertheless, there are privacy advocates in the cryptocurrency industry who maintain a degree of suspicion over any project that requires an element of human trust. This suspicion extends to the Zcash parameters. These observers continually scrutinize the Zcash project, searching for more and more processes by which the creation ceremony could have failed. Yet, while various theories have been put forth, no actual failure in the Zcash parameters has been discovered.

In adopting the Zcash parameters, we receive frequent questions regarding how they affect the Komodo coin. The answer is that the privacy in the Komodo ecosystem is effectively permanent, regardless of any potential fault by the Zcash team. Furthermore, we can adopt any updates the Zcash team releases to the parameters.

In the unlikely event that someone was able to retain a complete copy of the master key, the only power the holder would have, would be the ability to create new private money in our system. This holder could then trade that for transparent, spendable money. This could negatively impact the Komodo coin, and we would be required to adapt our platform. If a fault in the Zcash parameters were to be discovered, the Komodo team has various contingency methods at our disposal to remove the Zcash parameters and replace them with a new set of parameters."

the reason that this setup is called the “Trusted Setup” is because you have to trust that whoever generated those keys destroyed them when they were done. Provide me the proof that the keys are destroyed. You cant. Thats why its called a "trusted setup".

Throughout the history of mankind there have been manny scams. From the gold smiths holding peoples gold and slowly changing into banks. Scamming people with factional reserve banking untill now. One of the goals in decentralised blockchain technology is to eliminate human trust

Prove to me that someone has the key

Komodo is the most advanced blockchain platform by far no one else comes close

Anyone try this coin out with the new nvidia cards?
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: September 27, 2018, 04:54:28 AM
Any coin that has optional privacy is total crap as privacy coin. It might work for something else, I don't know, their use is not clear.

I agree, Zcash isn't really a privacy coin that can be used as digital cash, but this clone is coz it enforces anon z txs by default

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4979549.0

Only problems to resolve is the trusted setup, but if you can live with that PIRATE is a real digital cash, otherwise wait until trusted setup is sorted, and they reboot a similar z only coin.

Update on new privacy coin PIRATE,  the komodo devs have now added delayed PoW notarisation so their new ultra private z only Zcash based asset chain is now being notarised onto the bitcoin blockchain, so basically this PIRATE coin is the most anonymous, most secure privacy crypto I know of. Only issue is trusted setup, but PIRATE is unambiguously better than all other Zcash based coins, and with anon tx by default PIRATE is a good match for monero technically.

Yes I know, trusted setup .... but PIRATE has default anon tx PLUS secured by Bitcoin now with dPoW notarization.

Monero and PIRATE are the best choice, who respect Privacy.

a new coin with amazing promises comes along every 10 minutes.

I don't see how you can compare them to a long established and well developed/supported piece.

They are not like for like.

It's not a promise, it's already live.

Jl777 and the Komodo community behind the launch is long established and well developed and supported .

Trade off between bitcoin level security and a couple delegated guys that have the ability to send transparent tx.  Which isn't any flaw in the system as they will be the only transparent tx
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 23, 2018, 03:10:52 AM
Success. I have overclocked my Z9 to 650... here's a picture of it at 600.

https://imgur.com/n87ky6J

I'm going to let this 650 run for a while to check stability. The change I have made is hard coded at the moment, it'll take me a little longer to make something that should work for others... and even longer to make an image we can just install (maybe).

Definitely looking forward to what you come up with keep us posted
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 10, 2018, 03:38:43 AM
Such a joke, people who ordered z9's are waiting for shipment which last day is 10th, then next batch already begins on 11th which is bullshit.  And difficulty keeps rising ridiculously.  They can't even ship the shit and they want orders for future batches LOL

I spoke on the 7th with Bitmain, asking for the status of the Z9 order and they told me is still in manufacturing: hahahah, idiots

Yea my ass, more like mining with it until profits are so low they can dump them.  I'm so glad I don't buy btc miners from them, utter shit company to deal with.  Pieces of shit...  Watch we won't get our z9's until like end of month at this rate, and they'll be late, and ship the 2nd and 3rd batchers all together so we all get fucked at once instead of gradually.

Bitmain support chat just told me (10:39AM Beijing time on the 10th) that there is a delay in the shipment of the Z9s and that the production eam is still "Rushing and testing" and they will "try our best to ship out as soon as possible".

Sigh.

Hope they throw some worthwhile coupons for the wait.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 08, 2018, 04:50:12 AM
My z9 came with the option to change OC's it doesn't say "balance", still doesn't go to 750 without crashing though.

Mini or full version?
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 06, 2018, 08:44:32 AM
Still no one alerted of z9 full miner shipments??

Not yet,  waiting anxiously
