Premiums have reduced to a level where the risk in selling barely justifies the hit you take compared to peeling and flogging the shitforks..
Premiums aside, there’s a very large risk involved in letting a coin worth tens of thousands of dollars loose in the mail. Moreso for international transactions. Lots of things could go wrong! The only situation in which I would ever sell another coin would be in person, with my lawyer present Even then — I’d probably just peel it, as the sale premium would likely not be worth the hassle.

Seeing that start price makes me really regret not picking up 2 of these papers when I had the chance. IIRC back then he was asking 1BTC each and I was like lolplz...
Yeah there were a bunch of them floating around. If you want to get real crazy I remember an auction where someone won one for like .15btc ish when btc was around $200 lulz. Edit: .26btc nubbins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=727068.0Edit #2: bitcoin was around $600 making that paper sold for around $150 AFAIK this is still the only verified “newspaper-only” sale. When I resold it, it was with a bundle of other rare goods, deliberately obscuring the price. The paper and a s2 0.5 silver would have collectively been valued at around 25btc to the buyer at the time. The other coins in the bundle were common and easily priced. The guy from the times 2009 website still reaches out about once a year just to see if I still have any other copies stashed away. I don’t! Winner: please take a high-resolution scan of the front page. I wish I had!

Definitely, offer it here before redeeming it, have seen HUGE offers for these coins
HUGE offers probably don't happen anymore. Please do a lot of reading in this sub before you sell your coin. Learn from the mistakes of others.

I'm sure you know this, but you would need permission from the artist to make prints of these paintings.

I am the second owner of the coin. The original owner is a very reputable and long time member of the Bitcoin community
FYI I was the owner of this coin.
I can't even (honestly) remember where I bought these from.
Did I buy these from you? God I can't even remember. It was so long ago.
Lol, I am starting to question the veracity of OP's claim that he is the second owner of the coin. He is. I bought them from someone - I just have no idea who. This was 4 years ago. I didn't honestly think they were from Blazed though. I got his SilverWallets and that's the package that got lost for months. The Casascius might have been direct from Mike but fucked if I remember. I bought quite a few of them at the time, sold some (longgggg time ago) and give them as gifts to friends etc. What I'm saying is that if you can't remember where you got the coin from, that means you don't know if you were the first owner, which means nano doesn't know if he was the second owner. So the claim that OP's coin is in the hands of the second owner is now thrown into question. Seems slightly absurd that this presents itself as an unsolvable problem to you. Can't you search DMs, emails?

I wouldn't have sold the coin if I didn't need to spend the bitcoin, thus I no longer have the bitcoin.
AH. Now I see. Try not to think in terms of unrealized gains, just imagine if you hadn't had those bitcoins back when you needed them.

I sold my funded cas coin a year ago when bitcoin was $1000 for 2.5 bitcoin.
Never sell, I want to off myself for having sold mine. Next time bitcoin takes a big dip I'm buying one again and I swear the thing is going in a safe deposit box on the other side of the planet.
So you sold a Casascius for 2.5 btc Now you have 2.5 btc You can buy a new Casascius for 1.x btc ...and you want to *off yourself*? Why?

Waiting to find out which hologram series before making an offer

I wonder if OP realizes that eBay/PayPal will take 13% commission on the auction end price

Don't know but each peel is another reason to hold, would be interested in seeing how many of the 25s survived since those don't have a real high percentage resale.
25s are worth more now than ever!

I don't understand it. It's sad.
If you actually do not understand why nobody is interested in paying a 1 BTC premium for a privately-minted novelty silver round, then yes, that is sad. Leaving fiat out of the equation, one bitcoin is worth materially more today than it was worth a year ago. One bitcoin can buy you a car. Or a down payment on a house. Or a pound of gold. Is a novelty silver round from 2013 worth so much that the collector's premium on it is equal to a POUND OF GOLD? Is it really?

|
Now I can understand why nubbins kept the PGP signed coins. I don't know if they justify a higher premium but there was definitely good reason to do so.
Thanks! ...but to be clear, you're not sure if additional proof of veracity justifies a premium?

No one's going to help this fell crypto lover out by quoting their pics to post them properly?
Yeah, no one except literally the first reply in the thread. and now that you all can see them, these coins are being priced WAY under value on this thread.
lol Anything under 2BTC is worthy of being laughed at. Any thing over 2BTC PER COIN is worth of consideration, but only if proper speculation is applied to the offer.
LOL TL;DR: don't insult us.

Haven't seen a 1Ag1 up for grabs in years. Watching.
BigBitz, do you recall which roll # this was from?
Is there a PGP chain of custody available?

it would have been nice if someone pointed this out, or is it obvious to you all?
LOL It would have been nice if you'd done the most basic level of research before starting the auction Only thing obvious here is that you're in over your head

Unfortunately I lost my entire collection in a tragic boating accident Bummer, I lost all mine to a bunch of rubes on some forum

2011 S2 Casascius [/quote]
Lowest-mintage brass year+series combo. Nice.
|

Casascius coins also make you hold your coins if you have weaker hands. Everything about them is amazing when you think about it.
1) Rare 2) Pretty to look at 3) Makes you not impulse spend coins 4) They are offline storage 5) They collect endless shit coins
If I hadn't bought Casascius coins, I likely would have bought more AsicMiner shares at 5BTC each.
