22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Block and TX Versions on: August 08, 2013, 07:23:09 PM
Thanks twobits.  I'll have a look at bitcoin later and see what/if they changed, moving from v1 to v2, just out of curiosity.

What I'm currently working on will be inclusive of all fields I've identified so luckily compliance to a template or format won't be critical - no one seems to care much about this internal versioning.

That's funny about devcoin though, I wonder what's up with that.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WIN 100 LTC! www.100LTC.com on: August 08, 2013, 07:06:50 PM
New round started now!

100 LTC has been pay-outed!!

who too? I sent when was 99 and the refreshed refreshed and it was ages before it reset so I presume I was the 100th? yet never received 100?

I sent 4 LTC in a row, when it was 95... I won those pack Wink

100LTC - exchange - course: 4LTC/100LTC Cheesy Thank you!!

TXID please.

Also some explanation of why the site takes 100 LTC and supposed to deliver 100 LTC.

If the OP's motive or source of benefit from this are not clear, seems too good to be true.

And if it SEEMS too good to be true...
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins-e the best alt exchange on: August 08, 2013, 07:00:17 PM
I don't like how it doesn't automatically calculate how many coins I get for my bid.

I have to do it manually for every trade and it's becoming a pain in the ass.

We have a system of you put the rate in then the amount you want, and it tells you the cost in BTC, that or have you tried using our market depth page? you can buy/sell to the orders directly by double clicking on them.

Like with all exchanges it takes a little learning at first, but If you use the contact us on https://coins-e.com maybe we can add the feature you want :-)

No this skirts the problem.

I too am tired of using calc to calculate my every order.  There's only 1 or 2 coins I will trade here due to this.

There's no place to copy my balances it's always a link to the manage funds page which means trading IFC I have to get out calc, calculate the number of coins I can buy/sell at expected price, then manually enter all numbers over the pre-filled form which suits one order in the order book.

It IS a pain in the ass.

If you can't implement calculation of the manually entered fields, it would be good to at least leave them blank until an order is clicked in the order book.

And allow some place on the page where balance figures can be copied to the clipboard, please.  This would at least save one tedious and repetitive step.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Block and TX Versions on: August 08, 2013, 06:44:02 PM
I'm wondering if anyone can point me to the following things:

A coin that labels blocks as "version 2" besides primecoin.

A coin that labels blocks "version 3"

I find "version 4" in hobo nickels and so far I assume that most of POS many have this but haven't checked many coins yet.

Any other transaction versions besides version 1 (bitcoin/almost everything) and version 2 (FLO style transaction comments).

If you have information about any of these items or version types not listed here for blocks or TX please let me know thanks.

that's hilarious Coinerd, i sent you a shit load of Nan for your pool and Gambling service, only to watch each dissappear over night. maybe i should open up a scam accusation thread against you, hmmm?

Second of all, i don't HAVE a coin creation service and i've settled up with Spots. So fuck you coinerd, once again you can go fuck yourself.

muddafudda, thank you for your help.

I don't have a pool.

The NAN I sent to muddafudda were from the giveaway thread, the cryptsy trollbox, and the NAN made the one time we had a huge NAN lotto.

I would have let it lie after he pointed out that it was you who unexpectedly released the dev build before he was ready. I've made releases with versioning errors in the past we're all human - the sooner someone points it out the sooner it gets fixed.

But he wanted to come out calling me names and shit.  And for a dude that doesn't have a coin creation service you seem to be in on a lot of coins lately.

This time you said you were going to work on NAN, apparently hopped right into jcoin or whatever, and dropped some mention of several other "hush" projects, or whatever you called it, that you're       working on.

And here has to come someone else fixing your coin. While you do nothing but add confusion to the situation.

Oh yeah, and type a whole bunch of "fuck fuck fuck fuck" bullshit like it's xbox live up in here.

I like how you toss him ten bucks for the "20 hours" he spent fixing your screwup.

r3wt on...

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nanotoken 2.1 Released. Important Update- Download Now on: August 04, 2013, 07:58:19 PM
I was asked to try and fix it. Don't care. All the previous posts regarding releases should not have been done. Don't blame me.

Yes your "not" my customer so don't try that with me please.

Thanks for reminding me why am I helping people like you from losing all their investments when I cop this shit. Fuck that from now on. The community is full of takers like you so I gave some and this is why the community eats itself. Something for everything.

The only thing I have invested in NAN is time. More time than the "coin dev", probably.

Of all the 70-some-odd coins in the market, I would like to see this one lay down, and stay down. R3wt is the only "coin creation service" that has been busted for scamming his clients, directly and publicly.  In a stupid and obvious fashion. And he's been on at least three other projects while NAN has lay to rot. I don't know why you would associate with him, "public apology" or not.

Claiming his network is under attack while the problem is so obvious that MicroGuy already explained what it was. MicroGuy.  What fool doesn't realize that r3wt dumped his premine and moved on to fresher pastures quite some time ago?

Now he's made some statement that he's changed the block reward structure again, too.  This coin has been fucked up from day 1.

As for being a taker - whatever.  I've worked to provide at least a minimal level of entertainment service and activity for nearly 20 coins to date, and the only one to show me any notable return has been infinitecoin. And that's not not been exactly anything that I would call a "payoff".

I've seen over 40 live copies of the script I released to the public, and to date have received one donation for .00048 BTC. I doubt if it's 1% of the coins that it has generated in bounties or saved devs who can at least release with enough of a block explorer to show their pre-mine/insta-mine status.

I'm sure I legitimately have plenty of room to make the same complaint about "Takers" but I'm not out calling people names, or implying that they're stupid (ignorant? whatever...).

As soon as you announced your intent to "save this coin" we all (NAN holders) became "your customers".  You want to come out all strong and asking for pay because you "saved the coin" but you don't want any responsibility or association with the deep problems that the coin has? lol...

I was going to drop this but now I'll add the nodes and see if I can send you the 1k+ NAN that I have, because I wasn't going to sell them for .001 cents or whatever it's worth on coins-e.

Maybe it will help salve those feels.  Let's see if it's not the only donation you get.

EDIT: client found another node while I was showering/responding. It's now syncing another 9k blocks or so. As soon as my balance comes back up from zero you'll have your coins.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nanotoken 2.1 Released. Important Update- Download Now on: August 04, 2013, 06:53:14 PM
I didn't realise people didn't know how to update. Delete everything except the wallet.dat and config In your roaming folder. Place all the files in your roaming folder and restart. Ill post some add nodes

I'm not sure if that's actually a jab at me or not but, blaming the "customer" is never the best strategy.

This procedure is what caused all my coins to move to uncomfirmed status, as obviously the blocks are deleted.

The coin connects, immediately sees some node, gets 251 blocks, and says it's synced. Now 20 minutes or so later still no additional nodes, no additional blocks. Client still says synced.

Perhaps it's an issue of a badly configured seed node?

Perhaps you should keep all of the posts in one place, as well.

If you're not a bagholder what's the point of stepping in to save a coin while the "dev" is off working on other projects, anyways?

EDIT also don't leave "back up your wallet" out of your upgrading guide.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nanotoken 2.1 Released. Important Update- Download Now on: August 04, 2013, 06:33:10 PM
The folder inside the 2.1 RAR file says 2.0 -

exe says v2.1.0.0fork3aaa7ba-alpha3

Is this the 2.1 latest release or is this just an outdated thread already? Was this before or after the updates posted in the other thread?

I'll just wait until someone says they've managed to get straight I guess.

It's not that I don't appreciate the efforts muddafudda but I'm not even sure whether there's been two or three updates released this morning, and all of them have been unable to get any more than ~250 blocks before saying they're "green-tick synced" and leaving me with ostensibly no coin.

I didn't even try the one that was released as an installer only.

So far this is not going well.

I got a response last night regarding the spot price calculator script:

Quote
Thank you for your inquiry. We monitor our free feed very closely and since there is no other means of verification than an IP address and the amount of requests, it can easily happen that a false positive occurs. In case it happened to you, we are very sorry but there is simply no other way around it.

If you want to have unlimited requests and live prices, please consider to become a premium member and you will enjoy all those benefits and many more. Should you remain with further questions, feel free to respond.

Best regards,
[personal information removed by forum moderator]

For reference, the TOS is here: http://www.xmlcharts.com/terms-of-service.html

It mentions the link requirement (which I did) and nothing else, whereas the e-mail response also mentions "amount of requests".  It looks like they advertise the free service, then block you if you use it  Roll Eyes

So if you want a precious metals price feed I wouldn't recommend these guys. I'll be removing the script from the server today.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spots [SPT] - NEW COIN | Traded on Coins-e | Win | Mac | Linux | LAUNCHED on: August 04, 2013, 03:54:04 AM
It would appear that the feed provider has disabled access to the precious metals feed used in my sample script. I am able to view the feeds in my browser but requests from the server IP receive a status of 403 FORBIDDEN.

I have contacted them because I did adhere entirely to the terms of service for their free feed, including a prominent link to the home page of the service.

In the mean time, you may wish to remove the link.  I'm not sure when or if the script will be restored to functionality.

If you would like to identify a more stable provider and/or host a copy of the script, drop me a line.

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the standard for cryptsy.com choosing new altcoin? on: August 03, 2013, 11:27:54 PM
or orphans premines for the orphans is also a good cause.

Folks should premine out of pocket in BTC and pay bounties to pools with that to be honest. From what I have seen most of the good pool providers don't require a bounty anyhow and cryptsy doesn't require a bounty for listing. So whats the point?

Yeah - there are a couple of coins where I think the owners would have been better off to avoid posting bounties.

I might do something for fun, or "for crypto" - But when someone offers the equivalent of $1 - 3 for a shitload of work I just leave it alone.

Its on the list it just has a 1Mil premine so will weight it down under any fair release coin.

Just having a little fun with various feeds.

While the link is up you can click to see a breakdown of Spots/BTC/USD/Silver (Troy Oz.):

temporary link

All data for these calculations is loaded real time - the metal price only updates once daily at the provider's end (free/sample access).
