201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hopeful Noob Miner on: July 05, 2016, 08:44:42 PM
Ethereum is probably the best altcoin to mine right now with GPU. You've fine specs computer system and you'll only need a good graphics card to get started with. AMD cards are generally more better than nVidia for ether mining, with a few exceptions. I'd recommend R9 280X or you may wait for R9 470, as I'm guessing that it'd be definitely worth it. What's your budget for the GPU BTW?

What's the price of unit/kWh at your side? It needs to be less than like 25 cents.

The US average is around .12 i think. I'm not the one who pays for the electricity where i live, but i believe it's .09. And i'll be moving soon, so that is subject to change. I'm a bit poor atm, but if the card will pay for itself before long and generate income, then the start up cost isn't too much of a problem. At least for my first experiment i'd want to stay under $400. If everything goes well, i can always reinvest my earnings.

You're going to get wrecked if you buy GPUs. Possibly the worst investment you could ever make ATM.

You seem pretty clueless, spend some time researching and watching ETH crash and burn. You are always better off buying coins than hardware.

Or you can wait until the nubs start going bankrupt because they can't pay for their farms and scoop up some cheap gear.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon released RX 480. (Card is Released) on: July 05, 2016, 02:08:56 PM
If there were ASICs out there wouldn't someone be able to trace back by the hashate/number of miners?

If they were out there I think someone would have spilled the beans already!!

There aren't ASICs. It's a bunch of nubs buying shiny new hardware and getting wrecked. Haha! They were warned.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon released RX 480. (Card is Released) on: July 05, 2016, 07:01:43 AM

In Europe, the price is 50% over the recommended retail price. With the current difficulty rise, I am not sure if that will ROI.

You won't. And if you are bullish on ETH you would be better off buying coins at this point anyway.

Hashrate is rising and ETH is tanking. Rats with shiny new hardware will be jumping ship soon with nowhere to go.

No current coin can handle the hash rate that is about to bail on ETH. lol

204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: July 05, 2016, 04:36:13 AM
GPU or ASIC...it makes no difference once the farms start mining.  In Ethereum it only takes 3 of the major pools to make decisions on a specific fork for the entire network.

Bitcoin is same.

It's not the same. Bitcoin's blockchain is owned by China ASIC manufacturers. ETH PoW is available to anyone and uses off the shelf hardware. As long as it stays that way ETH will be as close to decentralization as it gets.

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO LIVE] STRATIS | C# Blockchain Development Platform | 10% bonus ends soon on: July 04, 2016, 04:54:07 AM
What is this legacy technology you speak of? I presume your talking about Bitcoin, so your argument is based on Bitcoin becoming centralized? There are tens of thousands of people that will disagree with you.

I am willing to bet tens of thousands of people are totally ignorant that 4 China-based mining oligarchies control 70% of the Bitcoin network and 100% of ASIC production. But enterprise project managers will know the truth which I assume is your target audience. I certainly would not base my apps on a Chinese-controlled technology.

And I apologize for the vague answers, I don't want to spend much time on what I think is a doomed project.

Good luck.

206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO LIVE] STRATIS | C# Blockchain Development Platform | 10% bonus ends soon on: July 03, 2016, 08:01:20 PM

Please elaborate?

It's too late. It was over when you decided to piggyback a legacy technology that is moving closer to centralization every day.

A .net core solution could have been the BTC/ETH killer that enterprise projects have been looking for.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO LIVE] STRATIS | C# Blockchain Development Platform | 10% bonus ends soon on: July 03, 2016, 06:50:54 PM

Great.  Would be a shame to waste all the effort put in.  I think it is just an unfortunate time due to other ICO issues and the general feeling of malaise and losses following the DAO hack.  With that in mind it would make sense to make adjustments to the ICO period if required.

The inevitable failing of the stratis ICO has nothing to with other ICO issues. The fundamentals are flawed and this is a lost opportunity to bring .net core to the sector.

This project was doomed to fail on so many levels.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: July 03, 2016, 05:51:56 PM
There wont be any forks...I don't believe any change to asic's either...If you tell gpu miners your all done if you don't go out and buy asic's that coin will die. For this coin to stay on the road to the moon it must remain a gpu coin and unforked...

That's why BTC is dead today. Oh, wait...

4 China-based mining oligarchies control 70% of the Bitcoin network and 100% of ASIC production, this sounds great! Oh, wait...
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 01, 2016, 04:37:23 PM
Yeah, I agree it is not compelling, but it is the opening salvo.

Now you know why people where opposed to Hard Fork on the Ethereum Network.

ASIC hardware could be toast!

Should the code be changed in the Hard Fork to a more ASIC resistant code.

Specialized hardware always leads to centralization. You have to update before the ASIC manufactures buy the development team.

Wallet won't sincronise. How to add nodes in win10?

No time for working wallets. They have a pump to dump into.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: June 30, 2016, 03:35:28 PM
Quick question though...

If you could change just one thing in the world (and you can because the seed of change only takes one person to plant) what would it be?

I would replace the broken mist wallet with a working one.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 23, 2016, 09:51:36 PM
The soft fork has to be implemented to freeze the stolen funds. then the society can determine when/whether to implement the hard fork.

The miners are deciding at the moment. I think they will make the decision best for the community and the future.

They will vote according to their own narrow interests.
Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

That is right. Will you vote for the wide community interests? I hope they will make the right decision, ie lock the hacked funds.

If there is a hard fork it should distribute the stolen funds to the miners. They are the ones that took the biggest hit for others incompetence and poor decisions.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 21, 2016, 03:21:02 AM
Pleasem hard fork it. thanks!

If Ethereum decides to go with a hard fork I will lose all confidence in this token, forever.

A hardfork would be the end of ETH. I hope most supporters understand this.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 21, 2016, 01:16:51 AM

How is it fair if the votes are being bought? Honest question. ETH is bribing the miners, and you call it a fair vote.

The vote is for a soft fork, just so the hacker does not profit anymore. DAO investors should never be refunded and ETH should be burned.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Still worth buying GPUs? on: June 19, 2016, 11:43:58 PM
Still worth buying GPUs? With Ethereum mining getting tough. Can we hope for another profitable coin?

Borderline insanity to buy mining hardware at this point. Most new coins are moving away from Proof of Work anyway - including Ethereum.

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 19, 2016, 07:58:26 PM
Acctually they will shut it down and return the ETH back to the investors. It's called hard fork and this is most likely scenario which is great in my opinion, investors lose nothing (except huge price drop in Ether) and the hacker gets nothing (except what he gained on trading when he knew the Dao and Ether price will collapse).

TheDao funds are frozen for another 27 days, after that Ether crew will do what i wrote.

They can fork to prevent hacker from massive profit but they should burn the stolen ETH. This would help restore the value the DAO and DAO investors cost ETH.

This isn't preschool, there are no do-overs for bad investment decisions. The DAO investors or any others should never get preferential treatment.

Put on your big boy pants DAO tools.

217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 19, 2016, 06:28:01 PM
Is there someone who has information about the eventual date of switching from PoW to PoS of Ethereum?

Try Google.

218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying New GPUS on: June 19, 2016, 03:47:20 PM
Im buying some new cards to add to my mining setup. I have been looking at the 380x cards and thats what im currently setup with. I found some Sapphire 290 4gb cards for about the same price as the 380x and was wondering if it would be wise to stick with the newer tech or go for the 290 based on about 10mh/s difference from what i have read. Any suggestions. I would like to wiat for the 480 but it may not be available right away and prices will likely be higher than 199.

EDIT: Couldnt pass up the 290 for 200 each. Ordered 5 of them. I plan on adding 8 new rigs with 6 cards each over the next week or so. I may try and hold off on half for the new rx 480 or 470 but i need to be mining now so waiting just seems foolish.

What is foolish is buying mining hardware at all and the vets have continually warned you. The well is dry and the new tech coin releases aren't even supporting PoW anymore. Of course, there are some ignorant mofo's out there and the hash rate of ETH continues to climb. Even after this latest ETH disaster.

You know what they say about a fool and his money.

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (GPU Mining) First Bitcoin... Then Ethereum... What next? on: June 15, 2016, 03:49:24 PM
This makes me really confused, whether I should spend off my money on GPU's and start mining ether or just leave it as it can become useless very soon. I remember the last time I purchased a good GPU back in 2010 for $250, I sold it for $25 in 2014, so if this drama of ether GPU mining ends up, my GPU would definitely get wasted off.

Is someone around here mining Monero? Maybe that's the coin to mine with GPU along with a bit of profit.

it's still very profitable, so yes go ahead and buy a gpu to mine if you can, also bitcoin skyrocketing make this even more profitable despite the little crash in ethereum price

It's almost always a bad investment. Mining may never be profitable again.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding on: June 03, 2016, 03:22:14 PM
yeah i reckon start join premine coins been stolen, and dumped.

Why don't you check for yourself and stop making ignorant assumptions?
