201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 09, 2014, 08:51:49 PM
That is one reason why I am skeptical of bitcoin: I have yet to see a "business plan", a consistent and fairly complete description of a future "bitcoin economy", with explicit numbers for volume of commercial use, fees, confirmation delays, deflation rate, wealth distribution, hoarding, banking, legal status, taxes, mining costs, etc.
Might as well ask for a unicorn while you are at it  Wink .

I want a rainbow castle in the sky!  Wink

Breaking news: Professor Trolololol is against everything that has to be figured out over time by various people independently of each other!

Blackarrow can you please delete some posts on ecointalk?

There are a ton of meaningless posts wasting space that happened because David is too oblivious to understand the difference between shipping performance versus performance of the hardware itself.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Realcoin should be SHA256 or SCRYPT? on: August 08, 2014, 04:57:09 PM
I was under the impression that Realcoin was supposed to be a user-created asset on top of Mastercoin, so how is this question even meaningful?

Why not just become a dollar-issuer on top of Ripple?

Now BA is posting my personal info in my trust setting?
....

Regardless of your reasoning, that is -again- seriously out of order, petty and unprofessional blackarrow. Get your house in order and sort your act out.

That's more than unprofessional. I have never seen such a childish behaviour by any company. No wonder this whole mess happened if the company is led by a few pubescent teenagers.

It's pretty clear at this point this isn't really a company, it's just one or two assholes max.
205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: thread for refunds and compensation of blackarrow X3 on: August 04, 2014, 11:18:47 PM
I would like to remind everybody that sending this type of information to a person you do not personally know and trust is an extreme security risk. We highly recommend to not send this type of information. Again if customers want to work together or help each other that is no problem, whatever the subject matter.

Please go back to trolling your own scam thread, nobody is asking for your permission to say anything.
206  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: August 03, 2014, 08:53:03 PM
All the reference client actually has to do in this respect is create and sign raw transactions through an API that provides all the relevant parameters, including tx fee itself.
that's still there

Quote
On the mining end, all the reference client has to do
there is no reference client for mining. all major pools have their own thing.

Quote
The decision on methodology of pricing transactions is properly offloaded to wallet and mining pool software developers...

the reference client is also a wallet, therefore it is ok to have some estimation function inside. there is also no barrier in implementing your own function to do that!
my guess is, there will be different methods to estimate the fee and the data of the reference client is more like a monitoring tool (that's how I see it currently).
there is also no decision made regarding the protocol itself.

hence i regard what you write a bit like FUD, sorry for that.

To address all these points --

1. I never said it wasn't there, I just said that it shouldn't do more than just provide that functionality. The idea of going beyond the basic protocol functionality introduces a gray area between protocol and policy.

2. Mining pool software and solo miners call bitcoind (or at least a custom-compiled version of bitcoind), are you somehow insinuating that miners all use libbitcoin or have all written their own top secret independent implementations?

3. The notion of the reference client being a wallet is being phased out gradually anyway per statements made by Gavin previously.

4. Ideas that you disagree with just because you're mistaken about them do not constitute "FUD".
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: August 03, 2014, 06:23:34 PM
I disagree philosophically with the direction Gavin is taking this where floating fees are integrated into the reference client.

The methodology of estimating them is never a non-controversial undertaking, and there are no structural limitations that prevent data and market information determining tx pricing from getting decided outside of the Bitcoin network. All the reference client actually has to do in this respect is create and sign raw transactions through an API that provides all the relevant parameters, including tx fee itself. On the mining end, all the reference client has to do is provide configuration parameters robust enough for pools and solo miners to decide their tx fee policy, or integrate through API to take external data about appropriate pricing in order to select transactions for candidate blocks as desired.

The decision on methodology of pricing transactions is properly offloaded to wallet and mining pool software developers, and the market will decide the correct infrastructure for tx fee price discovery. Not some guy working on an institutional stipend.

Ready for a real "conspiration" theory?

There is no actual "company" per se. The "blackarrow" user account is just the criminal Mr. Sovu himself sitting in England. The entire thing is crudely outsourced on a very ad hoc basis without any real management to speak of, hence the lack of updates and the ridiculous things like 3 separate "teams" working on the SPI issue.

Well I have asked time and time again, what has BA actually done?  They have told us that the chip was designed by a group at I think it was Versilicon then sent off for manufacturing.  The backplanes had to have other teams come in to fix the issues because BA wasn't competent enough to even do that.  They have outsourced every single other part, so basically, there only job has been to receive units, write software, assemble, and ship.

Now they have said, there are many factories around that they can use to assemble, and yet, this has been a total shit storm as they can't seem to get it right.

Receive parts, it has taken at least 5 different LCD companies and who knows how many companies to get the case designed (still never figured out what happened to the plastic ones).  Then power supplies have had major screw ups, and apparently, now the control board (which I guess they didn't even design) isn't right.  Sure doesn't sound like they got this part right.

Write software...well, look at past posts.  They have continuously said that it will take "x" number of weeks to have whatever piece of software written.  Units ship, and software is buggy, things don't seem to work properly, and the "surprise" which apparently is just being able to daisy chain them together (which is worthless since they didn't tell us this and anyone expecting any number of these units probably already has the infrastructure in place to handle multiple units.), still has not been released.  So they can't even write software in a timely manner.

Ship...Don't even need to write anything here as I think it is pretty self evident they have fallen flat on their asses on this one.

So, that leaves customer service as what they are actually doing.  I think their customer service can pretty much be classified as a joke at this point.  You have a known criminal running this shady operation, and doesn't have anything better to do than counter legitimate questions with nonsense on these forums.

So I would have to say, that everything about BA has been a fail.  They can barely assemble a device, much less a properly working one.  I must agree with Dogie on his "F" rating of this failure of an endeavor.

Oh and BA, you keep asking me to stop and go away.  Well you must not have read my terms when you accepted my order.  They clearly state, that in the event of nondelivery or utter incompetence on the part of the manufacturer, I am entitled to do whatever I want, as long as it doesn't stray from the truth, in calling them out as much as necessary, up until a time that I am either satisfied or paid a bribe of 10 bitcoins.  Now obviously, it is much more cleaner than that, but you get the gist.  So I wish I could go away and forget you stupid asses, but since we both must abide by our ToS, it just doesn't seem like I am able to.

Good morning (I assume its your morning about now), I hope your chi isn't too effected by the utter shit storm you have created for yourselves.

+1, tour de force of common sense.

How about collectng money? Surely they at least did that competently?

I'm sorry, but this is just a little too convenient that all of a sudden certain support logins don't work and won't even process a password reset. There is no way that I'm messaging my order information just so you can make good on your earlier threats denying the full compensation.

Everything is a conspiration for you ... The IPS's DNS is down. Can you please try now? We switched to google's dns.

The only person here who is conspiratorial is you, for thinking that anyone who speaks negatively of the infallible, impeccable and omnipotent blackarrow must be getting paid by a competitor. No competitor would pay others to speak negatively of you because your reputation is well known. Other companies are selling their product without needing to shit talk the shit stain of a company Merlion Holdings aka Blackarrow aka Alexandru Ion Sovu - international criminal.
And I fucking dare you to delete this. I'll repost it a million times.

This anonymous scum piece of shit that represents Black Arrow publicly here is basically proving unequivocally that we have no option but pursue them legally until every last piece of their business is destroyed. Trolling customers so that they engage in angry outbursts here is not going to save you from the consequences of your criminal actions.
211  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 30, 2014, 01:23:29 AM
Yeah, assuming that's intentional, that was a really really stupid move on their part.

They've basically tacitly admitted that what they're doing is illegal by refusing the communicate, and basically force the customer's hand to seek recourse outside of talking directly to them.

Now are they going to delete the "misleading" posts about support login accounts not working?
212  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 30, 2014, 12:36:57 AM
Don't you guys have any pitchforks?  Time for people to man up and do something about all of these scammers in our community.

I'm personally not quite ready to escalate this to actually serving papers, but within the next several days I'm going to get the ball rolling filing official complaints with Hong Kong and the US FTC, as well as the ICANN ecommerce organization. If anyone has any information on how to do so in Shenzhen SAR that would be very helpful too. I recommend everyone else do so, because we might actually accomplish something if at least dozens of complaints suddenly start appearing before the relevant authorities. BA has solicited funds for this project fraudulently based on a complete misrepresentation of the project and we have every right to pursue them through official channels, as their behavior has made it abundantly clear that they will simply not respond to direct inquiries.
213  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 29, 2014, 07:27:52 PM
Most of our customers are entitled to be upset for this delay but we think the garbage going on in this thread is unacceptable and must be pruned. There are about 5 people flooding this that consider themselves to represent all our customers. We have contacted them in private messages to check what is the status of their order and they have indeed been unable to provide us with a valid order number which led ourselves to believe that at least one must be funded by one of our competitor.

This "garbage" is 100% YOUR fault for failing completely to keep customers updated, and reneging your compensation/price matching promises.

It's not acceptable to keep making promises to start production or ship, then disappear completely for weeks without any explanation, and it is our right as customers to seek a resolution of this situation through other channels when BA has completely shut down customer service entirely.
214  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 29, 2014, 04:57:37 PM
I'm currently in the process of collecting information for initiating some official complaints to the appropriate government regulatory channels. It's basically done at this point, Black Arrow has acted only in bad faith failing to perform even the most obligatory communications outside of simply collecting our money.

This situation has deteriorated to the point where the only recourse will be had once they realize that we can hurt them badly going after them.
215  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 29, 2014, 02:41:57 PM
If I were BA I would immediately start deleting everything to do with the X3 compensation PSU situation, because that is some serious fraudulent solicitation of funds stuff going on right there.
216  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 29, 2014, 12:14:37 PM
Matt, tell us your suitcase is going to be full of X3s on your trip back!

Like everyone one else "involved" in this "project" he's in a purpetual state of being "tired" having just "gotten off a plane" so they can't get back to you about anything. David at this point is goddamn Phileas Fogg. Nobody involved in this project is willing to take responsibility for anything whatsoever when it comes to keeping customers even vaguely apprised of the situation

Assholes deleted my post. It's okay, because most everything is known and archived.

But if you requested a refund from Minersource and did not get it, but they've tried to send you your equipment, drop me a message.

How can they possibly be deleting posts when 100% of their staff are busy assembling miners??

Argentina has very weak culture of rule of law when it comes to capital controls, as evidenced by the disparity between the official government and black market rates for the USD-peso trading pair. I think in practice the capital flight use case would arise from the informal market via in-person trading a la localbitcoins / mycelium wallet / etc. The controlling factor in this scenario would be the presence of adequate funds flows, in the form of wealthy people looking to protect their savings as bitcoin buyers, and a more economically-subsistence level population that can get bitcoin and are willing to sell for pesos. The obvious synergy here is a remittance market where nationals acquire bitcoin overseas and transmit back to family in Argentina, but I'm not sure really the extent to which that conforms to the situation in Argentina specifically.
