121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: November 12, 2014, 08:31:31 PM
Please rest assured that this issue is covered by warranty and in order to provide peace of mind to customers that are concerned that this might happen to their machine we are offering hosting into our partner's datacenter in China. This includes any X3 unit that has been shipped or still due to be shipped. Please contact us via our customer support, should you like us to host your X3.

Fuck these people, they even just figured out how to take advantage of the fact that their pieces of shit light on fire to make not just the Rent-Some-Minions a Ponzi scheme, but also the direct hardware sales! These X3's never have to be made, all they have to do is once you're ready to end hosting, contact you with a price to ship it to you that isn't worth it, and in the meantime all they did was pay you back a tiny portion of your own bitcoins pretending you've been mining.

Meanwhile they're collecting an extra hundred bucks every month from you for the privilege of being conned, they keep all the functional X3's for themselves for their own personal farm, preferentially ship out the broken ones to a small amount of customers, and handle all the RMA related issues at customer expense.

Holy crap are we all idiots for not being criminals.

I went looking around online and found this miner, just as effective as BA's offering but uses no electricity, you just periodically have to stick some wood in it.

123  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: November 03, 2014, 07:32:17 PM
You people don't understand, it's your fault these still catch on fire, because all you mean customers are pushing them to actually ship.

yes, and then you plug them into the wall and turn them on and stuff.

clearly an unforeseeable use.

The amount of time that went into developing these, they are art and should not be put under such strain as being, "turned on".  I mean, how could the ones in BA's datacenter ever be profitable if your driving up difficulty by running them?  It is a much better idea to ship you the crap ones that don't work and hoard the others so that difficulty stays low and BA can pad their pockets even more.

There's no way BA has a datacenter, at this point they make at least 300%+ profit just faking payouts by paying customers back their own bitcoins that they recently embezzled. No Rent-Some-Minions service has actually started yet anyway.

They're looking to fuck a different class of mark now since the consumer sales angle is completely gone. The person they're looking for is willing to "invest" half a million dollars minimum, but has to pay before being allowed to see the contract, and if after seeing the contract it isn't acceptable, Black Arrow keeps 10%.

If anyone has any explanation other then mental illness here I'd love to hear it.
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 29, 2014, 03:36:54 PM
There's NOTHING that is really bearish about the data contained in your first two links above, and your last point seems to be near total pie in the sky speculation with NO real world evidence to support the point that you seem to be attempting to outline (as if bitcoin is kind of dying away... hehehehe.. yeah, right...)

YOU are saying "bitcoin is kind of dying away", not me.

But, indeed, there is NO real world evidence about bitcoin usage.  Those plots do not show such growth, and we have no idea of what that blockchain traffic really is.  That is all of my point.

But, if you care to know, I also believe that the bitcoin entrepreneurs like Andreessen, Sielbert, Draper, Matonis etc. (and the bitcoin "news" sites that they support, like Coindesk) have no interest in such data becoming available, because they know that it would be depressing and bad for their sales.  Just like they want people to believe that China is irrelevant.

I believe that last point is a bit much, and merely seems to be playing into concepts that BTC is a ponzi scheme, which you should realize by now that it is NOT a ponzi scheme, even though you want to continue to project theories and to see data that are in support of those kinds of ideas and the spreading of those kinds of frameworks.

Whackjob conspiracy theories to support a very artificial worldview about Bitcoin painted with a broad brush is way easier than a sober nuanced assessment of skin in the game vs talking their own book for these individual players. Stop the presses everybody, some retard on the internet who can't even spell the names of the entrepreneurs just figured them all out!

Did it just suddenly got a colder where you live? (It did here.)
You became considerably smaller.
I know lizards don't like the cold. Cheesy

Pathetic earthling.

  ~Your Beneficent Reptilian Overlords.

Sorry. In my country, the world which is the literal translation of "lizard" is sometimes used in place of "penis" when you don't want to use "culturally inappropriate" words for the same thing.
I figured it probably a unique thing but I did my best to make you understand the "joke" regardless (I edited the original post to assist you better).

In idiomatic American English we have something that is exactly the same thing, although in a very specific context, i.e. the phrase "draining the lizard".

What's crazy too is that their failures to deliver have very little to do with the fab at this point, it's almost entirely to do with PCB's / serial communications / power (or so they say). It's absolutely impossible that their performance has anything to do with anything other than financial fraud, because their manufacturing is located in the one spot on earth where you can get any of these things done quickly, cheaply, and correctly.
129  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: October 28, 2014, 06:21:33 PM
So if I'm to understand this correctly, when questioned about refunds Alexey Assholeev lectures us about how they're on the brink of bankruptcy, yet they're capable of moving forward on a fab project that will have millions of dollars in upfront cost.
That's about the gist of it. No money for refunds, because they've spent it all on miner parts - now long obsolete - but plenty of money to fund not one, but two fab projects: the 14 nm SHA256 chip and an ASIC Scrypt chip.

Of course, their claims could just be more bullshit. Last I checked, they were still looking for suckers partners to help fund the Scrypt ASIC project at a million a pop.

The fab projects are most likely complete vaporware trying to scam bigger fish than just individual customers, because those power consumption specs are absurd. It doesn't seem out of the question though that they could maybe find a few early adopters with large amounts of bitcoin wealth who, lacking technical expertise and due diligence, could get taken in. That might explain why they were so zealous to nuke their own self-moderated thread right in time for the London conference.

I think the blame should fall equally on Nemesis for this, without Russian technical assistance they would not have got the quantity of orders they did. Those not-in-stock Bitfury boards were the lure to the site for me trying to buy them. Funny how they're all in-stock (used) now for cheap eh.

This asshole aka Alexey Andreev. is literally the only person at Black Arrow I've ever been able to talk to, but basically all he does is troll and threaten you.

FTFY

"Customer Support Director"

He's a director.

This guy is a real piece of work, it'd be absolutely hilarious dealing with this guy if this weren't such a financially tragic situation. He's the most inveterate con-artist you can imagine, when he actually responds to you, he learns how to talk to you based on the words and phrases you introduce to the situation yourself. He will literally say absolutely anything he needs to say to get you to accept this bullshit, including but not limited to threats and intimidation.
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 27, 2014, 04:42:45 AM
The only reason why BTC will grow and increase in price is Anonymity. Each and everyday people are tired of showing ids and passports to banks to send money to someone or receive. With BTC its all cool and your anonymous what more is needed? BTC Can grow a lot more in developed countries with high tax rate and strict control. As people want to live free not in a cage. One of the reason Sweden loves bitcoin is this.

There are way better alt coins for that.

It does not have to be 100% privacy. It can just be something that is similar to cash: payment is visible for the receiver, but the identity of the payee is not necessarily known to the rest of the world (e.g., stored in a central system with access for government officials).

Yeah, there are better coins for that.
Bitcoin is just an outdated pump and dump coin.

I'm beginning to suspect you are either butthurt or trolling for profit. Hmm
Trolling is a dangerous occupation this days, two years jail cant be fun
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29678989

is it even trolling they are talking about?!

Nobody even knows what trolling is, it's become just a meaningless catch-all phrase for anything on the internet somebody doesn't like. Nine out of ten times what people really mean is "flaming".

Bitcoin is a Goldbergian contrivance, at best a cludgy solution to a problem existing only in the minds of a few batty libers.

I heartily agree. [bunch complicated stuff attempting to do something which is done much simpler and to everyone's satisfaction already]

Goldbergian, yeah.

Preach that 'ligion! What a bunch of Libertarian retards, caring about ideas that are annoying and complex!

I heartily agree. Disintermediating central payment clearance by constructing a peer-to-peer network achieving consensus with a practical workaround of the Byzantine General's problem is obviously for stupid Libertarian assholes. What a bunch of idiots, finding value in a system that is trying to do something pointless like make money and property exchange clearance fast and cheap!

Remember this, BlackArrow?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294197.msg3215902#msg3215902

"Yes, you are guaranteed to get a price 25% below the market price ($/ghash) at the time of shipment.
And yes, we will keep our prices below every other company.

Bottom line is, whoever trusts us now, we promise that will help them to mine profitably after February as well. If you keep supporting other companies who have ripped you off until now, you'll barely get your ROI back.

Unless Bitcoin mining stops because it becomes unprofitable for everybody else in February, our customers WILL make profit.”

Their loophole on this one is that while they still accept orders, they do not publicly publish prices anymore. You have to contact them to find out privately how much it's going to cost to have the privilege of perpetuating their Ponzi.

Self-moderated threads are needed to cut out the noise from trolls where intelligent discussion is paramount.

Of course the dictator would be pro-moderated threads.

Hey only 50% more of a downfall to go before you have to pee on your own head. Remember our little wager? I do, because it was left in an unmoderated thread.

I posted this 30 seconds ago, so far, its still there!

edit: now its been a whole minute, still there!

They're not parsing actual text, but manually at their discretion they'll add your user account to the list of accounts that their bot auto-deletes.

Not that I'm advocating any kind of ethnic bigotry here, but the idea of pursuing them through UK law enforcement sounds like a really good idea to me because from what I understand, there is a stereotype about Eastern European immigrants (which unfortunately happens to be 100% true in this situation) that is totally lost on us in the States. From what I gather, in the UK it isn't exactly a stretch for the typical person to take it very seriously that some Eastern European is running a con?
139  Other / Meta / Re: ATTENTION, theymos! BitcoinTalk NOW has a threatening security issue! on: October 24, 2014, 04:00:29 PM
This is not a complicated situation, you mention the words "Alex Sovu", you get auto deleted, end of story. There are plenty of very negative borderline spammy posters but the only posters they actually care about flagging for deletion are people who have ever said "Alex Sovu".
140  Other / Meta / Re: ATTENTION, theymos! BitcoinTalk NOW has a threatening security issue! on: October 24, 2014, 12:21:43 AM
How does the bot distinguish criticism of the company from praise? That would be very sophisticated code for a forum bot.

But surely "self-moderation" is useful to scammers, but scammers are tolerated by the forum administrators, they wouldn't remove abything just because it encourages them.

It's programmed to delete certain users posts blindly.

The criteria for being one of those blacklisted usernames seems to be anyone who mentions the actual name of any individual associated with Black Arrow.
