201  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argument against vaccines quite flawed on: February 23, 2022, 09:00:59 PM
The people working their asses off in hospitals get a smaller picture at their local hospital(s) of what is happening, but even then, the small amount of medical professionals I have talked to locally, who are friends (mainly nurses & 2 doctors), seem well aware of what the CDC does and how politically-driven they are, so they take most of what the CDC says and does with a grain of salt. Yet, IMO, everyone else seems to be treating these guys like God's and allowing decisions that potentially have long-term consequences.

Unless you are extremely high risk and willing to accept the mRNA experimentation, IMO, the best solution for most is going to be vitamins C, D, and Zinc, and practice proper hygiene. I personally don't mind masks and would encourage their use at times of high spread and close environments, but I dislike mandates in general.

This has been feeling more like when the CDC created a 5th vital sign (pain) in 1996, and big pharma rolled out their "very tested, non-addictive" opioid "solution" (Oxy) to it the same year.. which has killed millions and gotten many millions more addicted to them, and it isn't over yet. Every doctor under the sun defended and distributed this for many many years, and the majority ignored the addictive behaviors simply because they were told by the "experts" it wasn't addictive.

It's cool though, they have more medications for the addictions they created.  Roll Eyes

I have a difficult time believing the guys you all tout as 'experts' are truly looking out for our health or our best interests. While many of the local ground-level guys, doctors/nurses, believe they are doing good, and a lot of them actually are doing good things, the people above them are playing games, motivated by finances, and seemingly just want to get as many dependents on the medical industry & pharmaceuticals as possible.
202  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards on: February 23, 2022, 07:59:51 PM
The fact is that returning 1000 dollars is not the same as returning a quarter of a million~
Well, technically it's not the same.. and it certainly isn't going to feel the same to the person mistakenly sending it.. but to a morally grounded person receiving it, I'd feel the same way on returning 1K as I would 250K.. if it's not my coin, it's not my coin, and I'd need to send it back.

Regardless, these acts should probably be acknowledged when the amounts are this high, while being wary that we could then have a rash of seemingly altruistic users sending and returning as much BTC as they can to their alts in an effort to gain trust/reputation. Although, I'd have to doubt any of them have 39BTC and would be willing to lose the fees, but who knows.

Although, I'm not sure it's a massive problem in the grand scheme of things, it would just be a shame to see a community event be ruined by it, as I do believe that message behind the event i.e recognising those that contribute to the forum in one way or another, is a good one.
The problem seems enough to be annoying. Smiley

I try to avoid popularity contests because, well, I'm not very good at being popular. I'm not as active with posting, I don't have alts to fluff myself up, and seeing the merit'ing this year, I wouldn't have enough merit to play the 'reward me if I vote for you' games with the merit seekers.. popularity perks of being a merit source, I guess. *shrug*

Nonetheless, I do appreciate the love & recognition I've seen for myself, and BPIP, even if 1 or 2 looked like possibly copy/paste!, but there are enough votes from people I see from legit forum members, who certainly need no merit from me to solicit a vote.. so thank you all, much appreciated.

People, when you do find that special somebody, you gotta hold that man, hold that woman, love him, please him, squeeze her, please her, signify your feelings with every gentle caress, because it's so important to have that special somebody to hold, to kiss, to miss, to squeeze and please! Everybody needs somebody. Everybody needs somebody to looove! ..  I need YOU, YOU, YOU! Wink
203  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome on: February 23, 2022, 06:15:19 PM
This got me thinking:
I don't think you'll see a quick upload bottom at the moment
Would an extension be able to create an upload button for embedded images (apart from the issue who's going to store it)?

Do you mean the extension button would upload the image to a 3rd party site and then auto-insert the embed code from it?
If so, imgur has an API which this could probably work with.. assuming I'm understanding what you're asking?
204  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Putin Threatening or Serious on: February 22, 2022, 05:19:26 PM
I'm more of a 60/40 that he won't do anything major, my doubt comes mainly from the age & achieving a conquest stuff.. but a heavy-handed assault would definitely be a bad move for Russia, so I'm hopeful for a more peaceful resolution, just not sure about the mental stability of Putin and what he might see as the smart move. No matter what level the aggression, if any, another country would likely be blamed.. I'm not sure who though. Undecided

Ya, I take it back.. Putin crazy. I'm now at like 40/60 he won't do anything major.. I'd anticipate a swift attack from UK, led by Boris himself. Nip it in the bud!  Smiley

Shocked  .. seriously, I think things are gonna get crazy.  Undecided

Canada has replaced/placed enough of their population that they can get away with such control the “Canadians” you speak of would be against..

The USA too..
Our population would and does vote our freedoms away constantly, but it’s more difficult due to our constitution..

I agree to some extent with the US, but there's a large portion of the population that doesn't vote, and a large amount of the ones that do vote, IMO, end up uneducated (or maybe propagandized is a better way to put it) at the polls when they do vote, and most don't (or can't, time/life/work) follow the full story after they vote.. it's a sad cycle, but I do believe the majority of Americans still value their freedom's (and understand what the actually means), we're a tolerant people though. I'm hopeful a lot more will begin to see where these tweaks to our freedoms are heading, and we will come together to fix it. Maybe the optimist in me, but *shrug*, I keep hope alive! Smiley

.. now can someone explain to me why they are covering the tow truck drivers with what appears to be a halloween mask.. is that michael meyers? lol.. and being escorted by police? *smh* .. is this some [probably not new] form of psychological warfare or something? Roll Eyes

I would guess theymos has other qualifications for moderators that he would take into consideration, outside of just raw report stats.. but it's certainly a factor.

~I can't think of any other (sane) reason to explain why Western governments seem to worry more about good people protesting than bad people rioting.
Correct. Geez LoyceV.. why don't you just come in and state the obvious? At least, I'd hope it is obvious, but maybe not. Undecided

Like in the signature, Brainwashed. Wink Tom MacDonald touches on it much better than I can. lol
"The government wants everybody fighting with their neighbors, 'cause they know that if we get along, we'll probably go against 'em"

Although, I see it more of being insane because most outcomes I've brainstormed seem to end in some form of civil unrest/war...and the government & media would gladly fuel it, the people do need to come together... this seems to be what these Canadian protestors are trying to do.

Based on eddie13's examples, I guess I hadn't realized it had gotten to this point in Canada. The Canada I've always known of resembles the peaceful freedom loving people in these protests... it can't be good for that Trudeau guy to be bullying a group of people that [IMO] most people around the world would perceive most Canadians to be.

It feels like we've all let our governments get well out of our control, and at the same time, somehow embedded deep into our personal lives. I could rant about the US, but I don't want to get too off-topic. Lips sealed

As for BTC, it can be useful if you keep control of, at least the majority, of your coins (not leaving them on an exchange), and then have backup methods of transacting when your fav. KYC exchanges get the ol' "legal order" to do something against you. This wouldn't be as necessary if governments reduced their desire for power & control, or at best, didn't use it against their own people... but they can.. another example people should learn from.
208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada Sanctions 34 Crypto Wallets Tied to Trucker 'Freedom Convoy' on: February 18, 2022, 08:08:08 PM
Really?

I don't keep up as much with Canadian politicians but, ya, I've always seen Canada as a more peaceful place, so seeing this type of aggression is a little surprising to me, for Canada, but maybe I'm off base... I don't live there, just an outsiders perspective. Either way it's sad to see.
209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada Sanctions 34 Crypto Wallets Tied to Trucker 'Freedom Convoy' on: February 18, 2022, 07:51:27 PM
I didn’t see anyone trying to block the funding of those BLM protests while they burned block the the wake of their “firey but mostly peaceful protest”...

100% agree, I saw buildings being destroyed, people attacking police, etc. in [almost] an organized fashion... and hardly anything being done. Peaceful protest from truckers and Canadian citizens who don't appear to know the first thing about a 'riot', singing 'oh canada' and shouting 'freedom', and they're met with snipers, riot gear, drones, insurance/bank accounts being frozen, etc.. can't believe I'm seeing this happen in Canada, of all places.

Just wish I had a mind reading device to see what is going on in the minds of the police force on the ground.. sure, they're human, but herd mentality is a real thing, the human psyche is not to be underestimated. Entire populations have been driven to do unimaginable things at the words of someone they perceive as a leader, seeing a police force under the same control wouldn't be far fetched IMO.

The protestors have all sat down kneeling now as police are pushing forward.. interesting strategy. wtf happens now?

bpip.org is separate website from Bitcointalk, originally created by Vod, and currently owned by 2 people, suchmoon & ibminer (me Smiley ). We have always only collected information that is freely available to any member, as is stated on our about page. This would certainly not include any PMs.

BPIP also has a chrome/firefox extension, which is designed for bitcointalk.org, and pulls some BPIP stats/info into it, as well as ties in the [excellent] resources provided by https://ninjastic.space & https://loyce.club.

This is in a nutshell, there is certainly a lot more history with BPIP scattered throughout this forum which has led up to where it is now, complete with community suggestions, comments, criticisms, a compromise, a server crash, and more, but I don’t want to bore everyone with a wall of details. In my very-inexpert opinion, a likely path here would be a false flag attack which makes it look like Ukraine is attacking Belarus, which can then be used as an excuse to engage in a decapitation strike against Kyiv in order to protect Russia's ally.
But there's no evidence for it! Tongue

i am a lucky guy to have her as a wife.
Indeed you are, glad to hear everyone is mending/mended!

Curious if you are willing to share at which point in the timeline the peyronie's disease occurred?

Sorry, I'm still a no for this 'buffet', I have no trust for the guys creating and distributing this, it's not as tested as everyone claims, and it really shouldn't even be called a 'vaccine'. I'll keep my 'buffet' desires for food.

As for injecting children with 3 shots of this, the 5-12 (or even <18) age range is definitely a no for me.

This article points out some of the reasons why I'd be concerned:
Quote
This article examines issues related to COVID-19 inoculations for children. The bulk of the official COVID-19-attributed deaths per capita occur in the elderly with high comorbidities, and the COVID-19 attributed deaths per capita are negligible in children. The bulk of the normalized post-inoculation deaths also occur in the elderly with high comorbidities, while the normalized post-inoculation deaths are small, but not negligible, in children. Clinical trials for these inoculations were very short-term (a few months), had samples not representative of the total population, and for adolescents/children, had poor predictive power because of their small size. Further, the clinical trials did not address changes in biomarkers that could serve as early warning indicators of elevated predisposition to serious diseases. Most importantly, the clinical trials did not address long-term effects that, if serious, would be borne by children/adolescents for potentially decades.
ref: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8437699/     [Full disclosure, a research company who appears to have done some work with Pfizer in the past has an 'expression of concern' against this article, and is "re-reviewing" it, as of December.]

I've seen no real standards in collecting or reporting, everywhere seems to do it a bit differently and much of it relies on human entry, some places seem to take word-of-mouth numbers from facilities/humans, which just opens up multiple levels of error and corruption, and then some guy at the top aggregates it, puts his spin on it, and presents it to everyone. Multiple levels of human error and/or human corruption (which stems primarily from political, social and institutional pressures) can, and will, occur.. the environment COVID and the governments have created via mandates, shutdowns, etc. help increase those pressures, and I believe further skew the data.

Quote
Consider the criteria for determining whether an RT-PCR test result is positive for SARS-CoV-2. The CDC instruction (until 1 May 2021) specifies running the RT-PCR tests for 45 amplification cycles.
Quote
Many false positives are possible in the upper part of this cycle threshold range, especially in areas of low prevalence. In particular, virus culture has been found to be unfeasible in cases with a Ct value exceeding 33. A prospective cohort study involving the first 100 COVID-19 patients in Singapore also showed that attempts to culture the virus failed in all PCR-positive samples with a Ct value >30” [121]. During mass testing in Germany, it was found "that more than half of individuals with positive PCR test results are unlikely to have been infectious" [122].

Data feels too inaccurate for the types of decisions being pushed on a mass scale, and solely basing it on one side of the data, it seems like an inhumane decision based on politics, finances, and minimal data & trials... combined with a big-headed scientific medical community.

I know several people who vaccinated simply due to the social stigma of being 'unvaccinated', that shouldn't happen.
Others are probably just buying/printing fake vaccination cards. Roll Eyes

The data doesn't feel accurate enough to make these types of blanket decisions on a mass scale.. I really don't think it can be accurate in this environment, and I think that's [at least, partially] intentionally done.

This is more helpful, thank you! Smiley

What you describe makes sense to me as a mod tool, I would have much less concerns with that, and would not have concerns of a github style system that took a user to all the edits/modifications (this would be great).. unless you start allowing users to light up snips of quotes as green and 'verified' by the forum, then I think there are too many negative consequences from something like that, which seemed to be where this discussion was heading. I do still think performance would end up a problem on a forum like bitcointalk, but maybe? less problematic as a mod only tool... still seems like a decent amount of extra work per post/edit/etc.
218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argument against vaccines quite flawed on: February 06, 2022, 06:36:05 AM
How could it show future case numbers and deaths? Unless you're talking about predictive modelling, which is something else entirely.
The data that I have shared, and that others have shared, are not only 'current', but also include trends over time.

The vaccines have all been through the usual trials, and the data for these are readily available. The vaccines have also been used by a huge number of people over the last year and a bit, and the picture there is very clear, too. Over the last year, the data show perfectly clearly that you are less likely to die from Covid if you've been vaccinated.
This is not a traditional vaccine, and requires more long-term testing.. just judging it by the same protocols/standards of a traditional vaccine isn’t gonna do it for me.

In addition, it seems like several changes have happened to this 'technology' over the decade leading up to this, which should require new trials and further testing... but really, even 10 years isn't enough studies and research for me to ever want a mandate on a large population of people.. or even deem something like this 'safe' for the long-term.

On top of this, each manufacturer seems to have their own concoction of ingredients (which feels like experiments), with varying side effects. If you want to mandate a new "technology" of creating and delivering vaccines, which interacts with the human body in a new'ish way, then you better damn sure hope to have more wide-spread long term testing than what I have seen out there.

Even if you do *not* mandate it, still those people accepting it should understand they are in a large-scale trial/experiment. Calling it ‘safe’ in the long term, at this point, is not something I cannot really do for myself. Again, there could be an age/risk factor/etc that you might take this risk... but I can't imagine why anyone would deem this safe for younger kids.

I haven't seen any long nor short term studies/trials with kids, and minimal research done.. so it seems a bit crazy to me, but again, everyone has their own individual risk-benefit analysis they should do.. but mandates are completely out of the question, on any age group, IMO.

Your argument of 'we don't know what will happen in the future' seems a bit silly; you could use it against anything.
Aren't you assuming a future severe sickness or death was prevented, and/or symptoms reduced, from a prior vaccination in an individual?.. and then you 'prove' this assumption using the [flawed] data of unvaccinated people.

If you want to understand what is likely to happen in the future, then do your own predictive modelling. You might want to start by extrapolating from existing trends.
Using half-baked data to analyze future trends seems silly to me. At the end of the day, there is not enough mRNA vaccine research nor studies to cause me to feel "safe", and I can say that without a crystal ball. We’ve had the time to develop a traditional vaccine, I'd prefer they had went that route, but it may be too late.

If you are suggesting that there is a vast conspiracy involving governments, universities and professional bodies from pretty much every country in the world, but some random guy on youtube or facebook (or more often bitchute) is the only reputable source... then there's not much I can do to dissuade you.
I'm not sure what the random guy on youtube/bitchute reference is, as I didn't post anyone. I have minimal familiarity with bitchute, but there can be good sources on YouTube if you verify the content and who is saying it.

The only reference I had posted, which you seemed to have skipped over, was a long list of other products (even outdated), that big pharma has had 'approved', which have all been pulled from the market after staying for XX number of years, sometimes 30+, which all ended up doing damage to people, many of them including death. Should I bring up opioids?.. forgive me for not blindly running out to get 3 shots from the guys that run this industry. Tongue

As for conspiracies involving governments, if you are naive enough to believe governments do not conspire, then there is probably not much I could do to dissuade you either. Smiley
219  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argument against vaccines quite flawed on: February 03, 2022, 07:32:28 PM
So, would you change the uncertainty about the vaccine being unsafe for the uncertainty about the virus being equally unknown and certainly unsafe short term??
People who are uncertain about taking the vaccine should look at the data. Vaccines have been available for over a year, now. The protection they confer against both severe disease and also any level of infection is quite clear. Once you look at and understand the data, then the decision should be obvious.

Data?  The data you all refer to only shows the current picture, nothing long-term, and nothing in the future. Medical scientists have repeatedly pushed out things that, in the short term, seem safe based on their "data"... only to discover years later *new data* shows it does various bad things to your body, including death.

Here are some.
Do you see some of the reasons for pulling these things off the market, sometimes 20-30+ years later after approval, and I'm sure plenty of "data".

Not to mention your 'data', from the first point of data collection, is flawed in political/financial corruption & apparent human error, all the way up the local, state, & federal hierarchy.. and then it's further spun by the media and politicians. The same politicians who typically have some form of political/financial pressure in the hierarchical collection and 'reporting' of the data to begin with.

Personally, I'm not willing to put that risk on me, and especially my children. Don't get me wrong, I don't want COVID, and there are simple things we all can do to slow and stop the spread, but we all seem to feel the need to rely on a magic potion, take off our masks, and jump in the COVID pool. Good luck with all them mutations and.. "boosters".. or should we accurately call them experiments?

FWIW the guys working on Epochtalk told me that this is a planned feature that was previously discussed.
For me, it's not worth much unless you can show where it was discussed and what was involved in the discussion.

Has anyone gotten an answer on why they removed the planned features list?  When do we get to see the 'rewrite'?

EDIT: I'm assuming this list is the most recent? which appears to show some of the older planned features, but I don't see anything related to what is being discussed in this thread?
