2001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pump Group on: May 28, 2017, 01:58:47 PM
Pumping and dumping don't just happen out of nothing or mere wishful thinking, there is always a strong capital base behind it to be able to bring that change in price even against the tide, so the question begging for answer is, how well capitalized are you and your group to think you people could possibly offset a market?
2002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 28, 2017, 01:35:09 PM
I slowly began to leave BTC for high fees, and I'm looking for a different altcoin alternative
You are not alone in this, all bitcoiners are feeling the hit, but is the leaf really greener the other side? I believe this is some necessary phase Bitcoin is passing through on its way to attain its full potential. I think the we can take solace in the impressive value of Bitcoin in recent times and keep faith until this situation be over.
2003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Really The Future Of Money? on: May 28, 2017, 01:18:37 PM
Bitcoin is really the future money, actually people are starting to adopt it, unluckly not all people can access internet to have it and use it. But then once we get the support of the government of each country then for sure people will feel easy to access it.
No government is going to support bitcoin since they know very well bitcoins is competition for the fiat they produce and there is no doubt in my mind they are not happy with the competition offers since there is the possibility bitcoin gains adoption and people decide to adopt bitcoin instead of their fiat.
I dare to disagree because as of this moment Bitcoin has gained recognition. There is a government that supports Bitcoin and legalized it already which is Japan mainly then followed by Australia. In Japan, a lot of companies have liked and started to liked Bitcoin and is accepting payment with Bitcoin like the recent new that a Japanese Airline will start to accept Bitcoin as a payment and they are now doing some preparations regarding it for it to be effective. So you see that Bitcoin have taken a huge step and been surrounded by good news like now and then which marks this year as a great one for Bitcoin. Let's wish for it to continue and other countries to follow Japan's lead.
While we applaud Bitcoin legalization by Japan and hopefully Australia, lets not become unmindful of the fact that legalization has no real place in Bitcoin. If all the governments across the globe are to legalize Bitcoin, we would have kissed goodbye to this awesome gift meant to restore man's freedom.

What is fact is that Japan is a pure export based country and very eager to support any move that would promote its exports, exactly the same reason they have been running zero interest rate over the years.

2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino investment tracking on: May 28, 2017, 11:26:47 AM
You know... I'm just a bit worried about this whole investment trend.
I mean what exactly does prevent the casino to just... Close and go with your investment?
In a way it would be extremely profitable, they could leave with your investment plus the money in balance :/

I don't know for all casinos but most of them would make thousands of bitcoins! That's something which is definitely tempting :/
When we look critically, we would not fail to see it is rare for casino to fold up compared to other businesses and that is because their business model is almost a guaranteed profit. By and large, they stand to make even more money by simply running their business  normally than to go under with mere fraction of what they are capable of. Like a good coach, it is worthless replacing a winning team.
2006  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price would you stop buying Bitcoin? on: May 28, 2017, 10:13:57 AM
I can't stop buying bitcoin because this is my source of income as housewife I need bitcoin to earn for my children...unless bitcoin is gone...
If you must buy Bitcoin even at peak prices in order to earn and run your family, so how exactly do you earn - are you into trading or gambling? If you are into any of the two and doing quite well, then your earnings overtime would have taken care of the need to always buy more at whatever rate.

If what you are doing is to buy and hold until the price goes beyond your purchase price and your family is having to  depend on that, then you are not doing it right and you might want to work harder or gain more skills  to raise more fund, so you can have more leverage to buy much at a reduced rate and be able to hold without pressure to sell off the following day.
2007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 28, 2017, 09:53:22 AM
There is no greedy word in the business world, because the guidelines used are to generate maximum profits without harming anyone, competitive jobs will be fair if struggling and achieving abundant results in trading, bitcoin fluctuations that occur are also fair because it is done in the trading market, we It is necessary to estimate the ongoing price and our activities support bitcoin for long runs.
You're right, we're here to race for the better. Well, we all aim for something supreme, and if we are not greedy, then have you will be fed by others. Well, the fastest he won, I think it's like the law of the jungle.
Greed is as old as man and it is not feasible to separate the two, because man is simply a greedy animal, only some are able to tame their greed while others can never seem to get enough of anything. With the case of Bitcoin, the miners  are the greedier ones here, because they deliberately allow the congestion of the network, so to push forward their selfish interests and make a case for higher fees.
2008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think we are greedy on: May 27, 2017, 10:56:51 PM
I have been trying to deposit/withdraw fiat into different exchanges, and I found that most fees are absolutely ridiculous (7%-10%?!). With many options to deposit/withdraw fiat (and different fees), I think we are getting a bit greedy with Bitcoin.

According to Bitcoin price at the moment, depositing fiat worth of 1BTC ($2,053) requires fees ranging between $21-$205, while most of us want to transact that same 1BTC with something like $0.5 and getting rage over the delay!

I think paying $1-$5 in fees is relatively acceptable, since bitcoin price is rising every single day.
it's true we also get a lot of profit from rising bitcoin price so the transaction fee increase is fair to me. but which is very unfortunate if we transact with a small value I mean when the transaction $50 and fee $3  is very much.
I think you are mixing it up, the transaction fee didn't increase as a result of appreciation in the price of Bitcoin, rather increase in the adoption of Bitcoin across the globe placed more load on the network and more in the mouth of miners than they could chew.
2009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Development in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa on: May 27, 2017, 10:39:01 PM
As with anything in life, there is always a starting point and it does not really matter how much you fail as far as you refuse to give up or give in. There are no guarantees that the ones currently leading in this race of life would remain tops or emerge winners at the end of the day. Bitcoin is a nouveau technology that can be embraced without necessarily reinventing the wheel and the best part is that it is not for the governments to decide or dictate its pace. I see the above map as temporal as we all know change is the only thing that stays permanent.
2010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: May 27, 2017, 10:07:53 PM
Actually there will be no rich from gambling, if doing so is not because of necessity, such as just playing the game
It's just a waste of course, but if you really do it might be rich .. why not Huh
Wealth is not the purpose of playing the game. Pleasure is its original purpose. If really get rich then he is a lucky person. And luck can not be bought with anything.

If a player would only concentrate on having fun then gambling would only waste their money anyway. Because there are other methods to get entertained - moreover gambling is more of a waste. People dont get addicted to gambling per se. They start it to have some fun then it takes over their minds and they get addicted to it. Then it comes up as a problem.
What do they really mean when they say, "gambling is for having fun and not for money making  Huh So people with their eyes wide open, be throwing their hard earned money down some bottomless pit and dub that fun Roll Eyes  I think that is half the truth and actually a consolation prize to keep trying and hoping to make some money in the next game, because nobody is ever happy or smiles when he loses money.
2011  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: May 27, 2017, 09:32:41 PM
I really unlucky in my Dice play. I almost loose 0.004btc now. I'm just to greedy to win big. Damn! 90% chance to win still big percent loose. Its a bad day for me Sad
You have no chance to win big here just try to do for fun because house edge is very high if you have enough money to lost here then you can try as much you want but if you want to win big then better try some other dice game in Gambling section

There is no guaranty that if he tried in another casino site will win big money from a dice game. Because this game results are fully depended on only luck. But if he plays on lower house edge sites then he can increase his winning chances but no guaranty of winning money. Many times people are saying this site got higher house edge but still people deposit money and play.
You are almost speaking for the owner of site and yes there are no guarantees with gambling anywhere, but some cases are worse and almost a guarantee that one is not leaving with the money they came in with and luck is actually eclipsed in such situations. The right thing should be for a game to be as fair as possible and let the players take their chance and accept their luck.

User Vs user betting is amazing feature by you guys. Thanks for adding it. I don't think any other service provides this option or at least I have not seen anyone holding that section.
Betfair pioneered bet exchange only this is based on Bitcoin and am just getting to know about it even though it has been online since 2014.  I  understand a sport exchange can be quite interesting and rewarding because of the provision to bet for and against an event, so want to inquire  from those using this site for long what their unbiased review is? I have signed up and placed test bets wit faucet, waiting for review to know if to deposit or not!

The odd offered by this site is outrageous, if in doubt compare with two or three regular dice sites to see why leaving here with some profit is more or less a mirage. For a 90% winning chance for instance, the average odd from other sites is 1.10, but here 1.06 is what is offered players and the system even makes it impossible to set the exact winning chance one may want to. Minimum odd ere 1.01 is actually a 94.06% chance as against  97.254% for 1.02 minimum odd from other dice sites. That is simply telling that the site is heavily biased to favor the house only.
2014  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are provably fair gambling sites really provable? on: May 25, 2017, 05:05:56 PM
If they show the hashed seed before you bet, and the process using the server seed (provided afterward) and your client seed results in the output along with their server seed hashing into the hashed seed then it's perfectly verifiable.

Suppose my server seed is X and the result of it and your client seed would be tails (in a head/tails game).

I then hash the seed with SHA-256 and show it to you publicly. After you bet I reveal the server seed and boom: you can verify everything since I can't lie about the hash.

Please correct me if I have made an error in any way.

You are correct, but my point is that: is the "hashed seed" they show you, really the seed used to run the game?

for example they can just generate a random hash seed (asdbfj891y23basd) and display it on their website but then actually, their game will use a different hash seed (138sdf71982789zcxz). then when you lose, they will of course show you the server seed which solves your seed. but in reality it is totally different.
The way I see it, the seed and hash they provide might be legit, but what I feel is a source for worry is that of some dice sites having to ask players to first click some tabs to be able to see the hash. That may well be a knock on the door to alert the occupant to tidy things up before letting the one at the door in and all the while he stays, every thing would be made to look straight. I think having the hash to stream along as the game is played, should be a more convincing way a site should show they are truly provably fair since their code is not open source.
2015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: May 25, 2017, 04:44:59 PM
Just sold my ferrari while gambling. I have never seen anyone go rich from gambling. And I dont think I will either.

Lol that's what most rich people do when they get addicted to gambling. they end up selling properties and belongings to sustain thwir gambling habits. I think its more common for rich people to go bankrupt than regular people like us to get rich

I saw only those who lose all means and sell something else valuable in order to be able to play gambling. A newcomer can be lucky to break a big win.
Of course a newcomer can have some luck and hit jackpot, while older players struggle on end, but sooner than later, the newcomer unless he is well able to control his greed, which I strongly doubt, would hand over his windfall and even much more back to the casino in a bid to prove is luck. It is far easier to become bankrupt than it is for anyone to make a fortune off of a casino and most that often do, ends up handing it over in no time.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: May 25, 2017, 08:32:48 AM
I still haven`t get rich from gambling but I am keep on trying. Problem for me is that I don`t have big bank roll. I`m trying to do something with small amounts but doesn`t get any success.
That is actually one of the main highlights of casinos - the fact that majority of players have limited fund or simply cannot afford to wager with big amounts. The house being much more capitalized, is well able to checkmate and outlast almost all players and strategies they come up with.
Quote
When you have money and gamble with no pressure you can win big amounts, but when you think about gambling as a source of incoming(like me) then you may find your self in kind of a problem. So, if you invest, you can count on some fortune. Or if you are born under lucky star and `spin` some jackpot.

I agree playing with big bankroll can bring a player some advantage, but it  soon becomes extra meal ticket for the casino if not backed by knowledge, skills and patience. What often stands in the way of most players is not lack of some good strategies, but the pressure to get as much as possible all too soon from a casino puts on a player, making them to become sort of desperate.
2017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does experience matter in gambling? on: May 25, 2017, 06:44:55 AM
As far as I'm concerned the only way someone could benefit with experience from gambling would be to use their past experience to better manage their bankroll.
I think there is more, experience also enables a player to be clear with risk/reward and how to manage them. It is like a roadmap a player needs to finding their way out while stuck in the wood of losses, without it, walking right into the thickest part of the wood, where the final onslaught takes place, becomes inevitable.
2018  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My Unconfirmed Transaction Problem Solved Atlast on: May 23, 2017, 10:23:12 PM
Please you guys advising against using poloniex as wallet should at least tell me how my Bitcoin would disappear from there.  Are there history of Poloniex being unstable that led to Bitcoin disappearing or something??
The normal trend is for people to stay away from using exchanges as bank, but you seem to want to do the opposite. I want to believe you never lost to any of the also robust exchanges in the past that went underground, because that should have been all the lessons you need.  At any rate, learn from other people mistakes and dont wait till it happens to you too.  At any rate, paying even higher fees and having your funds intact is 101% a better choice.
2019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Between two extremes, but not quite in the middle on: May 23, 2017, 09:36:12 PM
Nice write up you came up with and I do share your take about Bitcoin being well able to ward off its handful of enemies from without, but helpless about the infighting that is fast snowballing into a civil war as you said. The looks of things is far from suggesting that a compromise between the two extremes - Core and Unlimited, is in the air. We are more likely to have a split except something new and interesting happens. All the same, standing between two extremes, but not quite in the middle means you have taken a stand where you belong!

Hey people,

As it seems some people are still wondering what happened.
So as a quick explanation: I had a heart attack and was hospitalized for a long time. So I suddenly had to abandon the whole campaign without notifying anyone and even Ethan (cause... You don't really plan having a heart attack xD)

As it goes, my condition went better and I'm able to use a computer again. But Ethan had to take the whole campaign by himself all of a sudden and without having access to my tools of management so it was not easy for him.

Anyway thanks for everyone for the time I handled the campaign, it was really great. Sorry for all those who were a bit taken aback by this but again I couldn't do much against it.

Stay safe and be careful about cholesterol :p
Nice to hear from you once again M0glie and good to know you survived the attack and now back on your feet. A way to put a check on cholesterol is to mind what we eat and to deliberate leave the car or bike at home sometimes when not going far.
