2021  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [SELLING] - BIOSHOCK INFINITE AND CRYSIS 3 GAME COUPON (STEAM) on: April 15, 2013, 09:36:27 PM
BTC0.1?

Would you come up to .25BTC?
2022  Economy / Digital goods / [UPDATED WTS] - BIOSHOCK INFINITE AND CRYSIS 3 GAME COUPON (STEAM) on: April 15, 2013, 12:16:17 PM
I bought a new 7950 and it came with one of the coupons for two free games, Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3. I don't mind using escrow.

Edit/Update:  Two more coupons available, asking BTC0.1 or 5 LTC
2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: April 10, 2013, 01:04:05 AM
Newb question from a guy that is not very technical, sorry in advance if the questions I ask are silly.

I just bought a 7950 for fooling around with mining LTC.  I had installed the GUI Miner Scrypt (tyvm TacoTime) as I'm not really confident with CGMiner and couldn't even get mining with Reaper.

After installing the card and latest AMD drivers I loaded up GUIMiner and connected to Give-me-ltc pool (stratum server) using the pre-configured 7950 high settings (below).

worksize 256
vectors 1
aggression 20
threads_per_gpu 1
gpu_thread_concurrency 21712

I managed to get ~550 kh/s for a couple of hours (still a little low from what I read in this thread?).  I had to re-start the machine so I shut the miner off and re-started, when I opened GUIMiner and connected back to the pool I got connection error and hardware errors.  The only way I can get back mining is to set the pre-configured settings to 7950 low and its starts mining but I can only get to ~300kh/s now.  if I increase the settings back to the 7950 high settings above while mining it continues to run and only increase's my HR by about 10-15kh/s.

I did try to run cgminer directly but as I am green I can't see where to make all the changes to the different settings to match the above.  What is also interesting to me is that CGMiner reports my HR avg as ~550 mh/s but my pool dashboard shows me only at ~7kh/s

rig is a little old rough specs are:
intel core 2 duo CPU
4G Ram
OS Vista (eww ya I know but its an older machine I had around not being used so I figured I would throw a 7950 in and screw around mining LTC...)

Is there any advice one of you grizzled veterans/smart people could throw a newbie's way, please?

2025  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Conceptually, what could the government do to defeat bitcoin? on: April 05, 2013, 10:23:39 PM
If you would like to know what the USA (or any) government will do if they decide to "kill" BTC simply look at the UIGEA (it basically killed online poker/gambling in the USA)...

They don't have to attack the network, they don't have to "manipulate" the market all they simply have to do is make it illegal for American banks to process any transaction to or from a BTC exchange or business.  Until people need to stop changing BTC for fiat IMO that will be the weak link, currently at some point people want/need to convert their BTC to fiat and usually at some step of the process a bank will be involved.

While this may not kill BTC completely it will certainly keep the "average joe" out of the game and would likely relish BTC back to the seedy underworld for all intents and purposes.  All the gov't has to do is play the money laundering and terrorism card and a law could get passed and I can see the current monetary regime with their lobby groups helping this along...  I actually think that for this reason a lot of big money is going to sit on the side lines and watch the next few years and it is honestly the biggest concern I have for the long term success of BTC.
2026  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Spare a coin for Butterfly Labs (BFL) on: April 03, 2013, 10:13:51 PM
Oh no! It doesn't match the picture!

Big macs don't either. Do people get refunds from mcdonalds?

If you really wanna use that analogy for BFL: People who ordered a Big Mac 10 month ago now get two Chicken Nuggets instead.

More like:  McD's announce their new Mc Uni burger, a unicorn burger that is only 3 calories and only cost $1.00 and after its digested your farts smell like roses!  They pre sell the hell out of it, ten months later they only have half a unicorn available and they sub it for a couple of Big Macs...

Good god I hate when people us analogies, they are almost always ridiculously bad...

@PG, damn you to hell for mentioning Mc Ribs cause I freakin want one now (I would also settle for a Ribwich!)
2027  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 03, 2013, 12:37:33 PM
I have no skin in this game, but what disturbs me is that BFL, Josh and Lukejr would appear to be actively working to manipulate a fucking bet...

Win lose or drawn this all makes BFL look like slimy pricks and Lukejr a BFL shill/fanboy/nuthugger, IN MY OPINION!  You clowns really played this PR move all wrong but that is definitely no surprise when the corporate public face acts like Josh does.

BoB you took the easy way out buy declaring a draw, I thought it was pretty clear the bet was won (BFL did not ship) and BFL was actively manipulating the bet to cast just enough doubt.  "Spirit" of the contest should never be over looked, its used to keep contests fair and ethical.

yea..this is all fucked up...i did send to wardrick....    .025btc   not sure what to do now.  lol

No biggie, Wardrick has it now at .076 (from what I can tell).  Next poster should receive from Wardrick IMO.
2030  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Circle Of Trust For Noobs on: March 24, 2013, 11:13:39 PM
Cmon people, if I am the last to contribute a .01 to this circle, I will be a little put off. It isn't the money, but when I forwarded to Amitabh S with a .001 offer it was out of trust. If this turns into a .001 circle of trust, I am not going to lie, I will be a little put out by how this turned out.

Noobs tend to be broke.

I understand. Was just sort of funny that I was the last to put up a .01 before the change. Amusing now that I think about it.

I shelled out a .01. Sent to Flying Hellfish, txid ce6279bd98976a0ec2162cf619a5b6732126255908a153274d802db5c24d8706

Recv'd, sent .051 to Wardrick

2032  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiBet - Bitcoin Casino - Play Casino War on: March 24, 2013, 01:15:09 PM
I got around to trying out the BTC side today and so I deposited a few mBTC.  All seemed good just one little thingy I noticed.

I sent .035 BTC to the address and 35mBTC showed as the account balance.  Played a little martingale strat and managed to get up to 70mBTC (last of the big spenders lol I know!).  I figured I would do what I normally do when I'm at the casino and manage a double up and I take my initial stake off the table (normally I give the chips to my wife to hold so I don't chase if I lose after the double up!!).  In this case I decide to withdraw my initial 35mBTC.  Head to check out and fill in address and amount (35mBTC and hit send.  Right away the account balance reads 35mBTC and I see an inc transaction for .07 BTC.  So I was confused I tried to withdraw 35mBTC but was sent the full 70mBTC my account showed 35mBTC still available (obviously since they paid the full amount there was nothing left available to play with and the software knew so as a bet placed resulted in the insufficient funds message appearing).

The numbers all clearly add up to everything being square (deposited, won and was paid full amount I won and initial stake) however I only tried to withdraw half and was sent all of it.  Did I not meet a minimum withdraw threshold or something so it sent it all?  Didn't see anything (or at least missed) in the ToS about it.

Lastly when I initially opened the browser for BTC play my balance showed 100mBTC, again obviously it was 0 and the software knew this but the display was not accurately displaying 0 but rather 100, at least for me.

All was good everything was square for me just the display not being accurate was annoying.

GL with the site, if the account display issue's get resolved I would play again!

Tried the play money a couple times today and both times I was not able to see what either the dealer or player cards were.  They both appeared on my screen as the red "back side" of the card.  It seemed to function properly ie I "won" or "lost" I just could not see the actual face/value of the cards.

Hmm, what browser and browser version was this in?

Tried practice mode again today and it worked, I was able to see the cards normally.  Guess it was something on my end.

GL with the site, War is a fun game!

IE, not sure what version and not sure how to check that (LOL sorry not tech savy at all).  I am using win8 OS and my machine is updated fairly often so I assume its the most recent version?

2037  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL releases pictures of their supposed ASIC chips on: March 17, 2013, 12:27:58 PM

I will not comment further here or speculate about what the obvious differences might mean.  I think those that have investments at play here ought to have some thoughts.  But I am done.

C'mon man out with it, don't be a CT!!!!  You've been hinting at something a couple of times now and I for one am curious and would like to hear your speculation, please.

Failed businesses don't make a person a scammer, I'm sorry.  Your logic is flawed.  That's probably why I have you ignored, miter_myles, and can only read your text in quotes.

PS: Please don't quote miter_myles.

So this is just SOP for a failing business?

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT - "Tom" or "Dave" is no longer affiliated with this company in anyway. We are a specialized devision of a huge corporate electronics manufacturer in Canada and we want you to get to know us before we take even 1 order. Ordering has been suspended for now and we are sorting out the banking and tax issues with Tom. Hopefully he does the right thing and for his credit he has givin us zero indication that he does not have full intention of doing the right thing. Luckily for everyone Tom seems to be doing the best he can to refund every single customer in a timely fashion. Now I know we lost most of our customers and that is fine. We plan to show full video proof before we take 1 single order and unlike some competitors these shipments willl be coming from the USA and will include USPS tracking numbers (DHL for international customer) Now for the hard truth We have strong reason to believe that BFL has been stringing you along all this time beause it needed your money to cover their R&D / NRE costs, its quite likely they are even using Pre-sale orders to pay their employees saleries which i am not sure of US law but is illegal in Canada. BEWARE OF BFL. ITS ALL LIES. Their terms of service contract is basically setup so they can legally take your money and there is nothing you can do about it. Yes Finally! Avalon comes out with the first ASIC device but how many will we actually see in customers hands by months end. How about the end of Febuary, March? These numbers will be very low. The sheer unprofessionalism of the supossid leaders in this industry is down right appaling talking about Bitcoin in general it's mind boggling - how these companies like BFL and bASIC can just string their customers along for months and no one comes out with anything better. My company has been developing custom ASIC and FPGA based solutions for decades we work in the military and telecommunications sectors and can accomplish this task at ease. We currently have a full functioning and hashing prototype which we plan to bring to production next week. We understand time critical solutions and it is our specialty. Instead of a full Standard CELL ASIC whch takes AGES to complete low success rates and extremey high NRE we are using FPGA hard copies of what is probably the best FPGA Bitcoin mining core in history (no it is not open source sorry ). Our ASIC chips can mine at over 2 gh/s comfortably and at a very low clock, which will ensure excellent heat disapation as well as chip longetivity. The inexpensive nature of the manufacturer of these chips will allow us to build machines that will use a large number of cheap chips and still keep electrical rates down to a reasonable level. These will be fully enclosed devices, not as cleaver as as our friends at Avalon with their stand alone wifi devices but they will include 25 FPGA hard copy ASICS which will use a maximum of 200watts per device. They will however require a host computer. The best part of our device is the speed at which we can develop them. We have a fully functional PCB fab and electronics assembly as well as a fully functional SHIPPING DEPARTMENT in house and we have already begun this process. I know it's a bit late in the game to introduce a product such as this but we wanted our news to get out there in the main stream. Tom is out. We are in. the bASIC is officially DEAD. Get ready for a 50Gh/s ASIC Based device shipping from the US with tracking and no none sense. There will be no deadline back outs and no B.S. We purchased this company from Tom for many reasons but the main reason is his un revealed completed design that can easily be converted to support 25 hard copy ASICS. The hardest work for us is already completed , Believe it or not, this IS happening and like I said before you will see a youtube video of this device hashing along before we ever ask for one red cent from the community. We cannot give an exact date at this time but It would not surprise me in the slightest that our first device ships before BFL. Professionals have taken this over and professionalism which is long over due in this industry will make all the difference. Please watch our you tube channel (coming soon) for a video of the device hashing by next week at the latest. Once the video has been shot we have decided to ship the device to conman who in my opinion develops the best Bitcoin mining software available. Please check back for more updates.

If he hadn't crossed the line yet (that's a huge if IMO) he smashed the line by a country fucking mile with this one.

Why do so many people choose to ignore the Can-Electric situation when proclaiming this just a normal failed business attempt?

How many bitcoin mags are there in the US?-which ones are based closest to multiverse's location?

Has any publications said anything about multiverse? Has anybody asked?

Are they going to invent their own tour group?
