Until then I'll go with the Cavendish experiment that was performed in a 17th century shed using two lead balls viewed through a hole in the wall

1) It was not performed in the 17th century but rather the late 18th century (1797-98) but hey sure looks better if you lie a hundred or 2 years!
2) It was NOT simply viewed through a hole in the wall.  The entire experiment was in a 10x10x10  2 foot thick wooden structure which was inside another building on Cavendish's estate.  The experiment was viewed through a telescope through a hole in the structure.  But again I get that it sounds a whole lot better as a lie.

The experiment has never been successfully replicated BTW.

3) Again what kind of horseshit is this.  It absolutely has been repeated, MANY times, in fact the torsion bar apparatus Cavendish used is the basis for almost ALL experiments measuring big G.  There have also been some none Cavendish experiments that showed very interesting results.  A few years ago they measured big G to several decimal places using single atoms by which they measured the path deviation when they passed by different objects.

You are nothing but a deluded liar, jesus fucking christ.  You have 3 flat out lies in 2 sentences...  Like ALL your posts they contain blatant lies and nonsensical bullshit to try to fit your deluded image of reality.

Literally almost every post you make is full of lies and bullshit twisted to try to fit your delusions.  I can't fucking believe anyone would listen to your bullshit and outright lies but then this idiot comes in not understanding how water sticks to a ball...

I didn't realize I was pre-ordering a product that I wouldn't receive for three entire months. I'm not a fan of that.

I'm not really sure on how to go about exchanging this with someone.

I would like to use an escrow, you pay.

I'm not sure how to post an image here either.

Newbie for sure. but 100% legit. I'm in Denver, CO, USA, if it makes any difference.

I seriously don't want this miner after my poor customer experience with them. If they weren't jerks, I'd keep it. But I'd rather pay more for a company that treats me better. Life is too short to enable assholes.

Feel free to ask questions publicly that you think others might like to know the answer as well.

Wrong spot, take the thread here for best results and to be in compliance with forum rules!

Gravity is a theory, a shitty one that's wrong.

Gravity isn't a theory, unless you ignore Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation.

But go ahead keep lying to yourself and everyone else stupid enough to listen to you lol!

Call me a liar you cocksucker? How about you quote Newton's proof is gravity is a real force?

Until then I'll go with the Cavendish experiment that was performed in a 17th century shed using two lead balls viewed through a hole in the wall as the only proof of gravity that exists. The experiment has never been successfully replicated BTW.

Gravity is a theory and that's the truth faggot.

You are a liar, claiming gravity is just a theory.  It is not a theory it has been proven thousands of different ways, which is why we have, ready for it... Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation.

You are a sick angry deluded person and a liar.

Gravity is a theory you piece of shit.

Well now there go lying again.  Unless you can post a meme or YT video of me a piece of shit typing at a keyboard then this is also another lie.

You are a sick, angry, deluded liar.

Gravity is a theory you piece of shit.

A theory everyone believes in, and everyone assumes will work as described, every time.  Smiley

Might as well be a law.

Dude it is a law LOL.  Please note the word in red...

Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation.

Reading another post from above, if gravity keeps sea level, level, how does a carpenter level work.  If you had a carpenter level long enough would gravity bend the level to keep it level?  This is the stuff that does not make sense to me.  I don't think gravity can bend water.  But that is just me.

1349  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 22, 2017, 12:37:44 PM
We now have people from following companies telling they are very skeptical on the DragonMint:
Bitmain (Jihan Wu), BW.com (Virgilio Lizardo Jr.), Bitfury Group

Why would Jihan Wu have anything positive to say about a competitor’s product?

Why don't you shut him up with something like oh you know fucking proof...

Why don't you and the dude that has the demo prove the fucking thing is real instead of constantly shifting the goal posts or offering red herrings like above...

I have no idea if the gear is real or not to be fair but at this point as all the others that have been around a long time it STINKS to high heaven like all the dozens of other scams seem on these here boards.

Until you show proof the community should show hard core skepticism, as you're seeing.  Those that don't are fucking stupid end of story.

This isn't a court of law you're not innocent until proven guilty.  As it should be for the old timers round here its your fucking guilty until proven...  If you were not taking in pre-orders from what I call Investomers than maybe you would have a point...

So take all your excuses, delays, blame shifting tactics stuff them in a pipe and smoke em.  And the lame excuse you don't want you're competition to see it too early...  That is CLASSIC scammer speak bro...  Guess who actually wants to see, you're investomers...

But anyways as always the ball is in your court, put up or deal with the backlash, kinda the way it is round here, don't like it oh well tough luck.

1350  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 21, 2017, 11:17:59 PM

I expect the 821 to end up being ballpark $3000, possibly as LOW as $2500, based on current S9 pricing.
Caanan/Avalon has always had a price premium compared to whatever Bitmain product they're closest too, unless they were a TON lower on hashrate, and I don't see them pricing the 821 much if ANY lower than S9 since they're fairly close on hashrate and efficiency.
They might MATCH the price of the S9 due to the hashrate difference, but they won't go lower - Bitmain will tolerate "same price" most likely because they can point at the higher hashrate AND slightly better efficiency, but a lower price would probably prompt a price war.

I mean they told us how they were formulating the price in the press release.  When I plug "my opinion of the numbers" into their "formula" (which by the way their formula makes perfect business sense) I come up with a ballpark of $3500 USD at the retail/disty level.  I see maybe 3k/3.25k for bulk 60 unit pallets.

If coin price doesn't shrink to much farther, from what I am reading in their release that number makes sense.  And honestly it will sell out FAST even at $3500, just look at the comments in some of the threads and how the newbs will pay "anything for them".  If we believe they have a 10x supply/demand problem, coin price stabilizes high, they consider spot pricing of gear then $3500 would be my starting point!

We're talking about millions of dollars in sales if these companies are not employing professional sales people they are making a huge mistake.  If they are the price is well thought out and internal numbers are analyzed and extrapolated to project a multitude of scenarios.  This information will give them the best possible chance to maximize profits.  When a professional sales exec has a 10x supply/demand ratio skew he is having a wet dream, trust me!  He/She will make the most of it if he/she is any fucking good!

If coin price stays high expect 3k to be the best possible scenario.  If coin prices go up whoa watch out, 4k will sound cheap. IMO
1351  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Black Arrow X-1 on: December 21, 2017, 03:53:56 PM
I have this Black Arrow X-1 that I haven't used in a while.  Unfortunately, since Black Arrow's support link no longer works, it won't mine.  Does anyone know the secret sauce to getting these things mining after the demise of Black Arrow?  Or should I just recycle it and save the skull sweat for other projects?

Thanks in advance.

If you ask me I say just give it to someone you don't like   Wink

It is all coming back around isn't it.

Lulz gigahash, that's an oldie, ya it definitely does feel a lot like 2012-13 all over.  Wide eyed newbs throwing money at anyone that mentions a magic money machine!  Cloud mining scams all over the place.  Now all we need is chip sales with integrators taking in millions and then just walking away!  I guess maybe shitcoin ICO's are the new "integrators"!

Fun times.
1353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 20, 2017, 03:45:11 PM

821 Prices:   We have not yet settled on price for 821, but it will be driven by market forces and the price of Bitcoin. Demand for product is more than 10X of the supply and the pricing in the spot market clearly reflects this. As well, the price of BTC has drawn in many new customers. As soon as I have pricing I will communicate it to you. Please do not ask for it, we will tell everyone at the same time.

821:  The Avalon 821 will ship at 11 TH (terahash) and 1200 Watts for a power efficiency of 109Watts per TH, a great improvement over the 741 which was rated at 150 Watts/TH.

Well  it is nice  since it will still be able to run on a usa 15 amp 120 volt circuit

but it will be priced high based on what he said.

maybe 2000

You can count on that one!!!

There was a lot of thought put into the wording of that release and breaking it down might help some folks prepare for whats coming!

When a company tells you there's a 10x supply/demand ratio skew, simple economics come into play.  Meaning in an imperfect market where demand greatly exceeds supply (like 10x!!) price is always set by the most optimistic of buyers.  It will always go to the 1 in 10 person willing to pay the most.  Anything less is money left on the table and NO company ever wants that, trust me on that one!  It's also important to notice their mention of spot price.  Their telling us they know what in hand units sell for so guess what, they want that margin for themselves and their distys.  No surprise really as this is what all companies do...

Lastly the mention of bitcoin price in determining price, if coins stay high so do machine prices, simple as that.  I don't see them caring much about being close to Bitmain in $/TH.  Of course the danger is getting to greedy and that is always the fine line.  Hehe but at 10x there's a lot of room to play and find out Smiley

You can consider that paragraph as the lube for whats coming  Wink

1354  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mining farm with USD 50000 on: December 20, 2017, 06:05:59 AM
Hey there,

Flaws:
1. The equipment doesn't exist, no one has ever seen evidence that it is real, and there is a very large possibility you will get nothing for your money.  What is the ROI for that?
2. If you do get it, it will be many months from now.  Difficulty will definitely be vastly higher so your earnings will be a fraction of what you estimate.
3. Price can go down in the face of rising difficulty, it has happened many times before.  Look at long term difficulty charts.  Difficulty ALWAYS go up.  Price can and does go down for years at a time.

1. OK, then we'll just get Antminer S9s, current price is $2,725 and they'll be delivered in February. Once in the EU, they'll retail for around $4,000, that's a 150% ROI just on the hardware + all what you can get mining.
2 & 3. That's my real concern, the true profits of bitcoin mining at this stage. Right now you recover the cost of the machines by mining for ~1.5 months, but it's going downhill very fast. If I receive the machines in February, will it take me 4 or 6 months to recover the cost by then, or 3 years? (I don't know how difficult will mining be in April/May/etc.). Anything less than a year it's good, since the machines can go for 1.5+ years working 24/7 afaik. That means substantial profit. Therefore, how is this not a good investment?

Mining is a bet AGAINST difficulty increase...  Based on current coin price and supply of equipment that is not
a bet many folks will win
Back to the days when pre-orders are the fucking norm.  I'll never understand how so many people are happy to give interest free loans to their competition for magic money machines.  Whats even funnier as you point out is that in so many cases buying and holding is a vastly better investment especially when you actually think about the risk/reward ratio!
Mining is a bet AGAINST difficulty increase...  Based on current coin price and supply of equipment that is not

Welcome back all investomers you are the wet dream of your competition!

By joining a mining pool, mining profits are proportional to the number of machines you've got. Expenses (machine cost, energy consumption) are also proportional. If mining is still profitable for someone with 1,000 machines, it's also profitable for someone who owns just one.

And, if mining isn't going to be profitable, does this mean all these manufacturers are cashing out on these orders and then stop their business? And that all the buyers and everyone with thousands of bitcoin mining-specific equipment will have their millionaire investments rendered useless?

Cheers

Are you a re-seller or miner?

I dunno about re-selling them but 4k when you get them sounds high to me.  But maybe coins will be 40k and people will still pay 4k for a miner.  If coins flat line at 17k or drop and hash rate skyrockets seems unlikely an S9 would fetch 4k.

For every miner you buy the manufacture can use the money to put 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever number more machines online for themselves...  They can also do it now because you gave them the money now and drive up the difficulty with your money while you sit and wait for it to arrive.  I cant imagine that the 10% jumps were seeing are just retails sales of S9's. The batches sell in minutes, so someone is adding a fuck ton of hashpower to the network (lol go figure with 17k coins!!!).

I always looked at mining roi in terms of BTC not fiat.  How many coins could I just buy right this minute with my budget ($1.00 or $1 million) which we can call X.  If after your gear becomes obsolete you have X+ then mining was a good choice.  If you have X- then buying and holding would have yielded more profit!

The manufactures are very good at pricing machines at just the point where only a select few can make X+ a reality.  Remember they have a much better idea of what is coming online then you do.  Hence the recent price hike of the S9's.

With mining you don't have any liquidity, which of course is a risk.

Lots of people (mostly in China) and some in Europe, North America and the rest of the world as well make X+ and will for a long time.  You might be one of them to which I say good luck sir.  As a total side note if you do mine please don't mine on antpool, find a good pool!

Mining was designed as a near zero sum game on purpose and its always working its way towards that (fucking beautiful fucking design if you ask me!).

Anyways hope this helped and good luck!

Hey there Entropy-uc,

Can you back your statements with data?

For a setting of 50 DragonMint 16Ts ($1,710/pc including power source) = $85,500, today's profit is 3.1 monthly BTC according to Antpool: https://www.antpool.com/support.htm?m=calculator

ROI is around 1.5 months after purchase, even considering electricity costs.

Besides, the hardware itself doubles its value nowadays when in stock, so the return on investment is 200% already since the moment you receive the miners.

What's your opinion on these numbers? Do you see any flaw in my reasoning?

The only problem I see is that the difficulty increases every day, and from yesterday to today, according to this very same calculator, profits fell by 15%. I opened a thread about this today.

Flaws:
1. The equipment doesn't exist, no one has ever seen evidence that it is real, and there is a very large possibility you will get nothing for your money.  What is the ROI for that?

What is incest? There is more incest going on right now than there ever was at the time of Adam and Eve.

Just think. If evolution happened, some mutated critter, who was just a tiny bit different than his fellows, mated with a non-mutated critter, to form children who carried the mutation only part way. Then that non-mutated critter died, and left his now imperfect mutation in his kids, so that they destroyed the mutating ability altogether.

The whole idea of evolution is about as stupid as you can get. If it worked at all, we would have dozens, or hundreds, or thousands, or millions of different kinds of intelligent, reasoning, human-like species all around us. But we don't. We only have two:
1. People who believe in God, and;
2. People who don't believe in God.

Cool

Your post is nothing but a bunch of non nonsensical bullshit (which is a theme in your posts not surprisingly).  Just because you are unable to understand the Theory of Evolution doesn't make it less true, fortunately!
1357  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: October 23, 2017, 01:42:37 AM
I agree the first human is adam and Eve. While the theory of darwin is just a theory that is not based on DNA research. What is taught in my religion is the same, that is Adam and Eve is the first human

Your religion teaches incest??

Can you even stop to think for just one second what would have happend to the gene pool if our species was inbreeding for centuries (let alone millenniums...)

1359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe all of the religious people are bad ? on: October 12, 2017, 10:19:40 PM
Some People are good, some bad.  Belief in religion itself doesn't immediately force you into one camp or the other.  But this old question always comes to mind when I hear this type of discussion.

Q:  How do you make a good person do evil things?
A:  Teach them religion.

It seems impossible to deny that millions of good people throughout history have done evil things in the name of god. Normal, good people lead astray by some nutjobs interpretation of what is supposedly divine..

That's poisonous IMO.
1360  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: October 11, 2017, 03:00:40 AM
I'm an Atheist and the late GREAT Christopher Hitchens sums it up rather nicely in the quote below!

“Religion is a totalitarian belief. It is the wish to be a slave. It is the desire that there be an unalterable, unchallengeable, tyrannical authority who can convict you of thought crime while you are asleep, who can subject you to total surveillance around the clock every waking and sleeping minute of your life, before you're born and, even worse and where the real fun begins, after you're dead. A celestial North Korea. Who wants this to be true? Who but a slave desires such a ghastly fate? I've been to North Korea. It has a dead man as its president, Kim Jong-Il is only head of the party and head of the army. He's not head of the state. That office belongs to his deceased father, Kim Il-Sung. It's a necrocracy, a thanatocracy. It's one short of a trinity I might add. The son is the reincarnation of the father. It is the most revolting and utter and absolute and heartless tyranny the human species has ever evolved. But at least you can fucking die and leave North Korea!”
