2041  Other / Meta / Re: How username turned into "Anonymous" in 2022? on: September 25, 2022, 07:58:11 AM
I hope OP and other who are genuinely interested to know the reason then you have it.
It was little off to see the topic created for it too. I did not want it to publicize at all.
OP could PM me instead since he knew it was me.

It was unnecessary, in my opinion. I think we should all respect each other's options, opinions and position.
It was your option/choice, for the reasons you think is valid. That is enough. We have to respect!

It really was unnecessary to put pressure on a well-recognized member of the community and always accessible. Really, a simple PM would have avoided 90% of what was said in this thread.

I think this story of yours can serve as an example:
When a user requests anonymity and is granted, we must respect it even knowing who asked for that anonymity.

Royse777 go strong! The community remains with you, just as you are with the community.  Wink

Or the user asked out of curiosity to know what is actually happened and asked this as public may serve the answer for everyone who had the same curiosity of what happened all of a sudden.

Its not a secret anymore but still for the privacy reasons the creator name hidden in the thread and that's it.
2042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi. on: September 25, 2022, 04:21:22 AM
I was scouting through internet and i came across this very interesting post on if Satoshi deserve a Nobel prize.
Infact many forums had discussed it
Infact a professor  Bhagwan Chowdhry at the University of California in the United States presented the proposal of Nobel prize for Satoshi stating that technology presented by Satoshi is the most significant development of the 21st Century and will have immense implications in the way finance will be conducted in the future

Personally i believe that Satoshi do deserve nobel prize for his work.
Especially after recent Ukraine crisis when we saw how donations could pour in in bitcoin. We saw how bitcoin can help people in events of war when banks were either closed or had frozen accounts.. People were homeless and short of money. We saw how bitcoin helped war affected people to overcome financial barriers and this showed the true potential of bitcoin and how it can support financial support and financial inclusion of poor and needy.

I believe for such a great contribution to science and humanity Satoshi do deserve a price, even when he is anonymous.

I request members to express their opinion as well.
He definitely deserves the reward for successfully implementing the blockchain technology into the monetary system and it worked but who will get the reward since we don't really know who is Satoshi Nakamoto and he didn't want to expose it until now so I feel let it be and still we have to see big change than what we are experiencing now.

The real world transactions are made using bitcoin, price tags in Bitcoin, people with money on their own wallets.
2043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 24, 2022, 05:31:17 PM

Update: Twitch has placed a ban on off shore casinos.
https://talkimg.com/images/2023/09/02/mdGNH.png

Still they are allowing the sport betting even poker if I am not wrong and that is what mostly gambled and steamed ones then what is the actual reason of the ban?

So its just fornthe sake of showing the platform is being responsible but without actually not really disturbing anything?!... Huh
2044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ledger nano x: Nobody mentioned the 4.25% transaction fee on: September 23, 2022, 03:07:44 PM
There may be a proper xxx wallet around there that works with Ledger, but I don't know.

There is a wallet that supports this token and at the same time it can be connected to HW, which is visible on the official Ledger website. The real issue here is not that the OP doesn't understand some things, but that he will invests in shitcoin, which he mentioned by the way in at least 50% of his posts on the forum so far. Discussion of such things is for Altcoins, not B&H or Bitcoin discussion.

I posted a topic about the specific coin in altcoin discussion. Just trying to find out about the technology and trying to collect as many opinions as possible.
It got no replies. I believe it is because most people just don't know.
You can keep repeating it's sh*t but I'm mainly looking for reasons why. Tell me there

Everyone has their own rights whether to post a comment or not, no one can force users to reply in their thread, if you feel that you asked the mandatory question and doesn't really discussed never before here then you may raise the question whether the forum os lacking knowledge...
2045  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How exchange determine flat fee on: September 23, 2022, 11:18:16 AM
Hello everyone,

I have a question and i know that you have the answer Grin

I noticed that exchange like Binance for example apply a withdrawal flat fee of 0.0002 BTC (≈ 3-4 USD).
I was wondering how they determine this amount because network fee is not fixed.

For example if tomorrow the network has lot of activities maybe the average of fee will be something like ≈30 USD so transaction with 0.0002 could take days to be completed.
So if this scenario is during for weeks they will update they fee manually ? Maybe they have a periodic review (each quarter ?) of flat fee ?

Thanks for you answers !

Exchanges can definitely afford even if the network is clogged and have to pay high transaction fee than the withdrawal fee we are paying because the transaction is not going to have single input and single output, it will be definitely have multiple outputs so basically they are pooling all the transaction together and pay whatever the fee is required.
2046  Other / Meta / Re: How to change password if I have forgotten it? on: September 23, 2022, 10:02:07 AM
I seem to recall that trying to reset via email may cause problems and could in fact lock me out.

It happens only if you reset password using the secret question but via forgot password there is nothing to worry about account is getting locked unless you click the link which will be sent to you email which says lock your account if this recovery made by unauthorised access.

So the way is simple, click forget password and reset the new password via link sent to your email.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 06:44:08 AM
Metaverses are entertainment for many people, as is virtual reality. People come to casinos to have fun and enjoy themselves too. So the casino in VR is double entertainment. When the metaverses and VR are of a very high quality, I am sure that these technologies will be used everywhere, not just to go to the mall or to travel.

I remember the AR which I experienced in some of the gadgets a long way back but its not really same as metaverse so there is a lot difference to satisfy the current generation tech users. And if I am not wrong China completely banned any type of gambling apart from one province so the market in China for the gambling industry is not really great like other countries so even if the technology is developing the company will like to introduce them on more democratic and gambling friendly countries.
2048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gacha Game on: September 22, 2022, 06:34:20 PM
Anyone here played games like FGO, Epic Seven, or Summoners War before? Do you consider it to be some kind of gambling addiction if a player whales or spend tons of money in the game just to get a certain item?

For those who don't know, a gacha game is a genre of video game where players pull, spin, or roll using an in-game currency to receive a random item. That item can be something that could make their characters stronger or sometimes it's just some limited skin which has no effect other than to make their characters look cooler.
Almost every game has such in app purchases and that's how mostly the gaming company makes money and for yes its definitely a kind of addiction and lot worse than gambling because no matter what they get, they are simply taking chances for nothing other than digital avatar which doesn't have any value at all.

Many government noticed this and banned such games or in app purchases because kids purchase lot of items with their parents cards.

Well, it doesn't have anything to do with gambling, its simply gaming addiction to the core.
2049  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term investing - Spot, Margin or Derivatives? on: September 22, 2022, 05:08:35 PM
Don't add such leverage to your long term trading capital which simply add the risk and it may lead you to close at the wrong position and ends up wrecking again. So just spot trading is good and you will have all your assets on your wallet and comparatively less risky. So as you said in the example you still can make 300% return if Bitcoin reaches new ATH which is too good in practical terms.
2050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A question I should have asked on my first day here on: September 22, 2022, 04:00:32 PM
Don't have much experience with smart contract with decentralized exchanges wallet but I remember an incident when people lost their funds because they gave access to the smart contact unlimitedly to manage the funds in their wallet so you should be very careful while connecting the wallet with an exchange even if its reputable.
2051  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dutch Police arrested a man suspected of stealing bitcoin and then laundering it on: September 22, 2022, 03:12:05 PM

Let's say he offered both Bitcoin and Monero for sale:
For 1 Bitcoin, he sells you 125 Monero.
For 140 Monero, he sells you 1 Bitcoin.
As a trader, those are very easy money makers if someone takes it! I'm starting to wonder what part of this would be illegal: if I do this at an exchange that's not P2P, I'm just very good at trading, right? Buy low, sell high! I don't need to worry about the source of the money I'm trading, just like I don't have to worry about the seller when I buy shares of a company. What's different here? Does P2P trading have a different legal status than trading on an exchange?
The only difference I know from trading on exchange and trading on p2p is the source of funds coming into our bank account, in p2p we receive the money from buyer so he will send funds from his bank account to us unlike exchange the funds will be transferred from their bank account so we don't have to worry about the source of funds but in p2p it can lead to seizure of account completely if we trade with one wrong person.
2052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 21, 2022, 06:08:19 PM
Yes, probably the company thinks that these influencers can taint their platform among the users which is going to affect the platform so probably they are banning it and maybe government also can be the reason. But why not sport betting and poker which I don't understand? Roll Eyes

2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fake Bitcoin. on: September 21, 2022, 05:20:56 PM
Anyone can create a token named 'Bitcoin' on a blockchain like Ethereum or BNB using smart contracts. But that's a different kind of scam. But the fake Bitcoin that I want to talk about, is actually created by some exchanges themselves!

Let me tell you. Bitcoin has a limited supply - only 21 million. Moreover, with the rise in popularity of BTC and the fear of hacking on various exchanges, more people than ever have started keeping Bitcoins in their wallets. As a result, the amount of BTC deposited in the exchanges is decreasing every day. Everyone knows that BTC is the most popular trading pair with any other crypto. But if the exchange doesn't have bitcoins, their business will go downhill.

That's why some exchanges have created their own coins with the same value as real Bitcoins by placing stablecoin collateral with bitcoin equivalents! Since exchanges do not immediately add crypto trading on their platforms to the blockchain, this leverage is difficult or almost impossible to capture. Because, common users don't understand anything.

But what is there to worry if the daily activities of the users are not disrupted? Of course there is. Exchanges that make fake bitcoins are really weak exchanges! And, trading in such an exchange is very risky! Therefore, it is better to do most of the transactions on the top exchanges according to the exchange rating on the Coinmarketcap site!

We can't actually label them as fake bitcoin because exchanges never pretend those tokens as real BTC but knowing the fact bitcoin has the most popularity and no trader can't avoid using it then they go for such moves of creating their own tokens with same value as Bitcoin but I don't think any exchange enforced their users to convert the Bitcoin to the pseudo bitcoin tokens.
2054  Other / Meta / Re: Attaining legendary rank - is that the end? on: September 20, 2022, 04:12:31 PM
Legendary rank is the highest rank that anyone can reach in bitcointalk as of now but I don't think merits were distributed less for the one who reached legendary rank because if you look at the highest earned merit profile then its legendary if I am not wrong. But in general merit sources may encourage more new members so the quality will increase in the discussion and that is why actually the forum was created for.
2055  Economy / Reputation / Re: Joeperry owned by a hacked ? DT2 on: September 20, 2022, 03:33:43 PM
Is @joeperry really @joeperry?
Or is it just an another hacked account recovered from the bitcointalk data leaked in May 2015 ?
Any thoughts?

I've got proofs for what I say.

Exciting to see @joeperry's responses.
Post your evidences then you can have opinions from others, simply posting the question will be considered as troll most of the times.

It may be hacked, or not.

2056  Economy / Economics / Re: The Impact of the Capitalist System on People's Economic Practices, Really? on: September 14, 2022, 05:16:12 PM
Rich people make money from their money, that is how the system was created. Every economic structure is there to support the rich or someone who js sitting at the top but atleast this new era opened the gate for anyone to become one among the top tier like billionaires by executing their ideas and forming the company or simply selling their ideas even.
2057  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: September 14, 2022, 04:43:31 PM
so anyone can use the fake details to withdraw and one who want to continue the services can do what is supposed to do.
I'm surprised your suggest anyone to fill fake information in case Roobet force their users to complete level 1 KYC, well anyone shouldn't fill fake information because your IP address can be tracked and they can know where your real location. If they're do cross checking and proven the users are lying, I wouldn't surprised if they demand level 2 KYC or level 3 KYC, of course it will make you harder to withdraw your money.

Anyone should know, when you're play on KYC casino, you're have 2 option: submit KYC or leave it.
You will get my point if you read it again, I am not suggesting anyone who wants to gamble with fake details. I suggested the KYC enforced with no other choice so users who don't even want to play there anymore has no other option but this has been suggested many at the time of enforcing the KYC and complaint who wants to withdraw.
You said level 1 kyc doesnt require any documentation to verify your identity and that's true. But suggesting to use fake details because of that reason is still not advisable. What if you win huge and the casino needs to verify your identity to process the withdrawal, then that would be a problem if you cant comply for the level 2 verification. Hence if you're not comfortable of giving your information for kyc much better to not gamble in that site and find other casino where you can play without worries about kyc.
Okay let's finish this, I am not suggesting anyone to fake their KYC if they have/had intention of betting again, the discussion actually started when a casino enforced mandatory KYC and what if users want to withdraw their balance and never want to comeback.

But years passed,we don't need to debate about it anymore and guys please stop quoting the post again again, tired of explaining it to everyone.
2058  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin, you're getting worse and wasting your customers' time. on: September 11, 2022, 05:54:16 PM
I am okay with the confirmation pop ups because most of the exchanges used to work in the same way so I am used to it. But transferring the funds between wallet and trading wallet is way too much annoying and its literally the waste of time. If the platform has other services apart from trading then they should better convert the site to individual platforms which avoid confusion and literally the traders can get the better experience of trading on an exchange.
2059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Limitations of Bitcointalk Members from Developing Countries on: September 11, 2022, 05:10:06 PM
I see most of the problems can be resolved if the government operates with more ethical and having thought about growing in the world arena instead of looting from their own people until they die. Solar can solve the electricity shortage but I am not sure people can afford the installation cost which is too expensive to build decent grids. So if someone is rich in the community you are talking can go for it and others should be more aware of their vote power to choose the right leader.
2060  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading gambling in another form? on: September 10, 2022, 06:54:21 PM
Gambling is betting something valuable on an uncertainty outcome right? Isn't this the same with Trading?/i mean even pro traders said out of 10 trades you can lose 4 and win 6, is this not a form of gambling? I had this argument with few of my friends that are traders some hours ago and I will like to here from you all what hou think about this.
Every investment is a gambling if we look from the perspective you mentioned because the greatest ever investors by knowledge we have is Warren Buffett has hard time reaching the returns from the investment 6 times out of 10.

From the broader perspective we need to look at this, trading involves luck to some extent but its not completely rely on the luck, we need to give lot of extra analysis to make consistent profits from being a trader.
