2041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 13, 2019, 04:12:28 PM
^  Yup sure...  But then that list shows where the money is going.  And that's what ultimately matters as far as rankings are concerned.  IMHO.

Definitely. Many will just buy what is number one just because is number one. But that dont mean is most valuable. One Million Bitcoins that Satoshi mined, dont give any value nor to Bitcoin nor to any Bitcoin blockchain fork.  The same with millions of ETH that were sold in ICO cheap. Not to mention IOTA where they had to even change units since price is now so much higher as it was in ICO. Those bulks of coins dont move just inflate coins marketcap. If they would hit exchange price would deflate.

How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job?

There is nothing to manage. You buy and spend, that is it.  How be able to full fill my thirst about cryptocurrenies technology is different and way more interesting subject to talk about.
2043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 12, 2019, 07:53:38 PM
Also, if delisted from Bittrex, how can we sell? The other exchanges' liquidity are closer to nonexistent hehehe.

You can always sell your AEON on https://aeon.to/   You of course cant buy them there. They are to afraid of tainted Bitcoins to selling AEON for them.
2044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New altcoins with low difficulty? on: December 12, 2019, 07:19:50 PM
Anyone knows which new altcoins I can mine that still have low difficulty? or where I can find lists of new fresh altcoins? Any help will be appreciated thanks

You can mine Monero with your CPU. You also can with GPU, but I am sure there are can be better options for your GPUs. If you have more questions you should ask guys here: https://old.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/
2045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 12, 2019, 06:54:26 PM
It's not even 1% of the economic value.

As economic value they took coinmarketcap. Comparing coins coimarketcap with revenue of a market is totally pointless. It dont give you any useful data.
2046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 12, 2019, 05:14:22 PM
XMR down to 14th at CMC.

On that list is everything. Coins/tokens/whatever whose marketcap is not comparable. Teteher, XRP, Ethereum, ....  It has nothing to do with how Bitcoin or Monero got its marketcap.  If you cut out ICOs and Bitcoin blockchain forks, there are only 3 left. Bitcoin, Litecoin and Monero. Three coins that was fairly launched and PoW mined. And after these big 3 is Dogecoin.

There will be more forks of Bitcoin blockchain and there will be more ICOs and more premined coins and tokens in future. Monero will on CMC ranking keep going down. Will be out of top100 sooner or latter. But that dont means it will not be in top3 of the normal coins.
2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless projects! on: December 12, 2019, 05:04:32 PM
Hello, I would like to know which projects have really achieved their goals after an ICO/IEO/ITO. Is there a page or statistics about it?

Most did. Well unless were a scam and ICO organisers never planed to do anything.  But thing is that coins are not shares. Coins were just to get founding and that is it. When company have profit, owners of that company takes that profit, not that it get distributed to coin owners.
2048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold backed coins are real?? on: December 12, 2019, 12:09:20 AM
what do you guys have to say about new projects that are backed by real gold? do you know any project that is legit and backed by real life Gold and not scam? any one have information about PGpay project?

I think XAURUM was first. They launched around 2015. They should have gold but. Why trust third party with your gold?  What is the point? You just rick when you will want your gold they will say fuck you and not deliver. Why risk if you dont need? You just go to gold store and buy some gold and that is it. Or some gold website. Most take Bitcoin and give you even discount when use Bitcoin.  Buying any real world backed cryptocurrencies is super dumb. Blockchain is to secure digital asset and not real world.
2049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Funcoin buys Dead blockchain coins! Market research stage. on: December 11, 2019, 11:47:51 PM
Definitely a FER  Ferengicoin. Look how cute it is. Launched almost 5 years ago. It is perfect for you. Imagine that all Ferengi will use it.

2050  Economy / Speculation / Re: Q4 -Quarter 4 speculation thread, where will 2019 end, join the LIST on: December 11, 2019, 08:38:06 PM
We need someone to make statistic who have average closest price so far. In all games that he was part of. I see Globb0 close again.  I was only once close and played like 5 games so far.
2051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anti ASIC/GPU/FPGA POW-algorithm. New (2019). on: December 11, 2019, 08:03:34 PM
For several years I was thinking about how to make a POW algorithm that will be stable not only against ASIC devices, but also against GPU miners.

Have you ever heard of RandomX? RandomX is not against anything. It just dont give advantage to anything. No one can build an ASIC that have double efficiency as top CPUs you can buy in computer stores all around the world.

Since Monero is one of the coins that changes its algo to stay anti-ASIC I've posted in their thread a link to this.

Monero should not change mining algo anymore. If RandomX works as is intended to that is it.
2052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 11, 2019, 07:24:42 PM
It has been said along the way at some point we may stop fighting asics.

Think about it practically, an ASIC is an investment in the coin. Research, design, running, costs. Its in their interest the coin is valuable. Not "damp it to 0" phone meme.

Without this sizable bit of the market it feels like we are outside the big stream.

How could it be fairest? So maybe we run a version for a year or more in test that will be the final major revision and give everyone equal time to make and market ASIC Monero devices.

Then even some groups of people might club together and spin up something.

I dont look at RandomX as fighting ASIC miners. I look at RandomX as giving chance to CPUs that are everywhere to be able to mine. If we can, why not. If we cant as we could not with CryptonightR or how was called old algo, then not. As long as RandomX will work I am super glad we have it.
2053  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Rises to $20-$50k After Halving...Thoughts? on: December 11, 2019, 05:45:22 PM
What are your thoughts on Lightning Capital Hedge Fund Manager, Charles Hwang, predicting BTC price will rise between $20-$50k after Bitcoin halving?

It is to optimistic. Price of Bitcoin should start grow in Spring next year, but to reach $20-50 in only few short months is a bit to much. If price will be close to $15000 I will be more then happy. If it will be over $10000 will be totally fine.
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Expectations for year 2020 on: December 11, 2019, 02:37:31 AM
The year 2019 came with diverse expectations from everyone. Some persons were of the opinion that the year would be better than the previous year, others had a negative view.
The year 2020 is around the corner and I would like to know what are your expectations as it relates to the market, Crytocurrency projects and the overall health of the industry.

2020 will be quite similar as 2019. A tiny bit better.  2019 was better then I expected it will be. It is not over yet so can still get worse to be closer to my expectations.  But I dont believe we will see much changes.
2055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins getting Boycotted? on: December 10, 2019, 07:44:19 PM

Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual ...

Bitcoin dominance over 65% is not unusual. It is total normal. I believe its place is between 55% and 75%.  Bitcoin dominance was for long time over 90%. Thinking that at 65% is unusual is a bit silly.
2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 10, 2019, 07:13:51 PM
Today many transactions are made on lightning. But some say that a lot Bitcoins onchain transactions are just tumbling coins with hope to make them untraceable. So this numbers cant tell us much, but trend can always tells us something.

Is there a forensic analysis of this around?
There's definitely no forensic analysis about it but people believe the on chain transaction to be an act of tumbling coins because the transactions on Lightning network are encrypted and sent via the network from sender to receiver while the transaction are not broadcast publicly.

I never thought of that, can you tell what coins are being used before you use a channel?

It would suck to find out your coins are tainted from using lightning.

I think Lightning removes the taint.  Is there a site that traces all transactions made in it?  I'm not really familiar with the new stuff anymore.  Lol.

You need to understand that there are many companies with enormous budged, researching was to do block chain analysis. If there is a way they will find that out. In theory, no second layer solution could offer us sufficient unlinkability of transactions.

Unless there was a way to have a trustless way to create a platform that tracks digital assets such as monero... like Tari, maybe? Wink

Anyone have any updates as to how that side of the Monero world is doing now and days?

Someone said that testnet should start in December. So we will not need to wait much longer to get the first impressions. Or at least read about them. Smiley

A reminder that the battle for open source financial and communication freedom is not ever 'won'.  A little vigilance is essential.

https://medium.com/swlh/how-microsoft-might-become-a-threat-to-bitcoin-f886fe7fbb3a

'The American software behemoth has been censoring the development of open-source software on Github. This has serious implications for blockchain development projects, including Bitcoin.'

old news just move your repos to gitlabz or peer-to-peer alternatives ;-D ~easy

Best is to have them on both or even more places. If one place gets taken off you still have others. Decentralization means to remove points of failures. Decentralization is never black and white, but of all shades of grey.

Why Does China Mostly Rank Bitcoin Below Neo, EOS & Tron. What is the Criteria

Tech.  Those ranklists are made to favourite the in the coins. Coins you mention are more like asset platforms that were developed way latter then Bitcoin. None of them is payment coin like is Bitcoin. And none of them compete with CNY.

By far biggest use case of blockchain is money. It enables trustless and permissionless digital money. They fail to understand this fact. It is totally fine. They still have plenty of time to realise.
2059  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoin is enough? on: December 09, 2019, 08:29:40 PM
How many bitcoin is enough?

0.21 BTC will be way more then you ever need. Only 100 million people can have that much.  Not to mention things like this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5206249.0  They hold a million by them self. Satoshi holds another million. Cheap old bastard!  Everyone that have more then 0.21 BTC should consider to donate them to those that have less or even none.
