Chadwin never misses the opportunity and rightly so. IMO he's arguably the best cricketing brain in modern cricket and very sophisticated with his choice of words.

Don't forget he's the guy who left the ball when India needed 2 runs against Pakistan and it was the last ball. In a such pressure situation, you need titanium balls and a cool head.

I really hope he gets the bag of wickets in BGT.

I think he broke the jaw of Healy without even shucking and jiving with his bear fist. He is an intellectual cricketer and knows where and when to put his word in order to win in a debate. I will never forget that win by Ashwin against Pakistan but I would never forget his performance in that tournament too.

Indians do have chink in their armor as far as batting is concerned but our bowling is strong so yeah very much possible.

I believe that history will repeat itself. I also believe that we will maintain the lead and we will win this series too. Optimism has its own way and mine is my team.

Both India and Pakistan are not in a good position on the Safest countries list to live. For a long it is something fixed with Pakistan as a country that is not secure. The recent tour by New Zealand and other countries have made the statement wrong. The bomb blasts are still continuing and the economic situation is at its worst. While sending the team, the government will think of different things. Here we can't blame anyone for the decision of not to send team India for the Asia Cup.

Bro! From where do you get this information about the safety of anyone living in both countries? Why are you so desperate for Indian players to visit Pakistan? What would happen if Indian players do not visit Pakistan? What is the need or the urge for you to post such a reply? Just take a chill pill bro and please stop advocating for the safety & security of Indian players if they visit Pakistan.

You know and I know that Indian players will not visit Pakistan. We all know the history of these two nations. We also know how the Pakistan economy started to deteriorate after 2016.  Everything is available for you and your fellow brothers to read on the internet still you guys are posting the same shit.

All of this needs to be stopped as we are talking nonsense here and spamming a beautiful thread on cricket. Let's be wise and look forward to the neutral venue where both teams will play in the Asia cup and the ODIWC game that will be played in India.

The first match in BGT will be played in Nagpur. As I wanted to know how the pitch in Nagpur was prepared for past test series I did some research and found out that they are spinner friendly. I know most Australian batters are not that good with spin, there are some who are good but still I would consider them not good. Therefore I wanted to check when was the last time Australia played a test match in Nagpur and I found out that it was in 2008 when they played the 4th and final test of BGT back then. They eventually lost that test match and India won the BGT of 2008.

Do you think history would repeat itself in 2023?
2084  Local / India / Re: India Reveals IMF Is Working With G-20 for Crypto Regulations on: February 06, 2023, 01:17:49 PM
Good to hear that finally, the government is looking to introduce crypto regulation. I do not think it will happen this year as I expected an announcement in the Budget. They will come up with ideas and formulate and implement them next year or in 2025. As next year we have the central election the government would not want to risk it as I feel the regulation would be harsh and might wipe out crypto in India so I am expecting 2025 will be the year.

A final decision on whether Pakistan will host the 2023 Asia Cup is now expected in March, after an Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Bahrain failed to reach a breakthrough. They will meet again in a month's time, around the next set of ICC meetings.
Ultimately it will be hosted in UAE. Most probably Pakistan would boycott the Asia cup. I do not think they can afford to boycott ODIWC otherwise they will lose the ICC money. PCB cannot afford to lose that amount considering the present economic condition of Pakistan.

UPDATE - KL Rahul ruled out of BGT as he is planning a movie or might be busy with his new wife Grin.In the meantime, Australians are in a gun-blazing mode. A lot of media coverage and mind games are being done. Found out that they have hired Mahesh Pithiya who does not looks like Ashwin but has an action similar to him. I have never seen them so serious about the Ashes as they are for BGT. In the meantime, ICT is busy chilling and is least bothered with anything related to BGT.

There are some things that are intimate! If possible do not go to that extreme where you can discuss a player's personal life. I mean let him be as he wants it to be. We only discuss here what we like or dislike about cricket, and players and also try to predict the future of cricket.

Anyways KL Rahul was not performing to his utmost best and if he is out I am not going to get panicked. We will have someone who might be better than him and new. It would be an awesome opportunity for that player to display his capabilities and outperform Rahul.
2087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 04, 2023, 02:31:43 PM
BCCI recently said No (for the 100th time). This answer is not going to change, no matter how hard Sethi Saab or PCB try.

They won't risk the player's life for cricket despite getting presidential-level security and rightly so, as life is more important than sports. Even Police forces are not secure there atm, the recent Peshawar blast is an example.

Pakistani won't understand the word No! As they have a weird constructive mind and imagination. They imagine that BCCI would come to the tables and
would say yes to their argument. A board that does not have money is representing a country that is on the verge of economic collapse and still, they have the guts to challenge the most powerful cricket board and an upcoming superpower country.

Being said that! As we Indians know they will now go to China and ask the Chinese for help in cricket Grin lol! Whereas China is asking for help from India to get listed as a cricket team among the playing nations. PCB and the ruling government have become a joke for now. This country was a liar to its citizen and now the citizens know it all because Imran Khan Niyazi exposed the army. A week back I saw their PM on some mainstream media begging for help from India.

The under 19 team (both men &women) have performed exceptionally well in ICC tournaments. They have each won the T20WC against big countries which proves India has a good talent base. I do not know what happened to these players when they join the senior team, they start losing the same ICC tournaments. I guess the fame & money takes over the innocense and the zeal to perform. Last time India won the T20WC was in 2007.

Well I dont know if someone already mentioned this, but my favorite quote about gambling is "a tiny profit is still profit". Anyway this is really a fresh and interesting thread, great job OP!

This is a fantastic quote and I can relate this to my earnings which happens literally sometimes. Whenever it does happen it is tiny and it is still considered as a profit by me.

Adding another quote to this thread. My own and I would like to hear if you guys like it or if it relates to you.

Money earned in just a second can make you happier than the money earned in your lifetime.

England were able to save their face after struggling in the last two matches. As usual the English batted very well but the real reason they won the match was because of Archer. 6 wicket for just 40 runs is an incredible achievement after coming back from an injury. I hope he stays fit throughout this year and especially in the ODIWC. He is the only bowler that the English have who can easily snatch away the game from the opponent team.
2092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 02, 2023, 06:49:32 AM
S Gill is just a 23 year old Indian batter and they way this guys has been batting it seems by the age of 32 he might break the records set by Kholi. After his maiden 100 in T20 format he became the 5th India batter to score a century in this format. Lost interest in the match after Newzealand lost thier first wicket at a very early stage. SKY took two incredible catches yesterday at the slip. No one expected that he would be able to grab those balls.
2093  Local / India / Re: What are your expectation from Union Budget 2023? on: February 01, 2023, 01:19:53 PM
As you said none and the same I feel here. The budget got rolled out today, as usual, there is nothing for the cryptocurrency community. The good thing about this budget is that the salaried class gets some benefits. The worst part I assume here is that they would increase GST to cover the loss. I must say these guys are cunning!

Why they ignore us because according to them earnings from crypto are gambling but earnings from the stock market are not. There are many here who have made a living out of the cryptocurrency business. I still feel sorry for those guys! My advice to them is that It is better to leave this country and move to a location suitable for this business.
2094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 01, 2023, 11:13:12 AM
I do not think England would be able to win the last match of this ODI series. South Africa has been playing brilliantly in this series. Bowlers have not been that effective but their batters have been in form. I never expected them to chase 340+ runs in the second ODI. England is struggling with thier bowlers  and I am expecting them to perform in the same manner in today's match too.
2095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 01, 2023, 11:05:55 AM
India VS Newzealand

The final T20 match which also the series decider will played today. Still hoping that Prithvi Shaw is given a chance in today's match. There no point in selecting him and not giving a chance to play. He has proven in the domestic cricket that he has the ability to score runs at a good striking rate. The pitch in Ahmedabad should be batter friendly otherwise this match too will become boring as the match in Lucknow.

In case if you have not read the original post. I am posting it on this thread.

After watching so many good quotes on this thread I am now going to post the top 3 quotes here. I do not think there is any reason for me to post a quote by me as you gems of this thread have done an absolutely awesome job. I have gone through all the replies and here are the three favorites of mine for this week.

DRS is generally not used except in important series or series of big teams. And umpires are often giving wrong decisions due to not using DRS. I would say the use of DRS should be made mandatory at present. DRS technology should be used in all first-class cricket. Any team can lose because of a wrong decision by the umpire. And it's normal for people to make mistakes. So I have to rely a little on technology. I have seen DRS technology not used in BPL. So the umpire is making a lot of wrong decisions. And this has led to controversy.

BCCI wants women's cricket to flourish but does not have the funds to finance DRS! Okay, I forgot this series in not happening in India. If it was then I would not have asked this question.

DRS is costly tech so not financially sustainable as these sorts of series hardly generate any revenue. Only Women's WC (Senior) uses DRS tech.

I understand it is costly but why such discrimination? I did not enjoy the match for the first reason it was unfair on both the team's part and second it got dominated by India as soon as the captain of WI got out. If you want women's T20 cricket to be engaging as well as entertaining you need to bring it to par with men's T20 cricket.
2098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 31, 2023, 09:03:23 AM
What's happening with the women's T20 tri series between India, SA & WI? I just finished the highlights of the match between India and WI. I was surprised DRS was not used in that game. Is there something that I don't know or in women cricket DRS has been not included or only for this tri series they are not using it. There were couple of questionable outs given by the umpires in favour of both teams. Overall India won the match but it was kind of boring to watch as the match was a one sided one. @JSRAW or @Sithara007 do you have any clue?
2099  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: January 31, 2023, 06:58:58 AM
I generally use both as it depends where I am. If I am at the comfort of my home I prefer using a desktop. When I am outside and have sometime to spare I use my phone. Almost all online casinos can be viewed on a phone. You specifically do not need to download an app or their app for it. I do agree the screen size does matter as you won't be that comfortable on playing on a phone when you have played on desktop.
2100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 31, 2023, 05:38:47 AM
South Africa is now comfortably placed in the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. It is almost certain that they will finish among the top-8 and therefore gain automatic qualification for the ODI World Cup this year. They have one more match against England remaining (to be played tomorrow) and another two matches against Netherlands. Even one win should be enough to overtake West Indies (who are currently in the 8th position). Sri Lanka currently have 77 points, and they have 3 matches remaining. There is a remote chance of Sri Lanka finishing at the 8th position, if they win all the 3 matches (against New Zealand) and South Africa lose their match today.
South Africa is going to be part of the ODIWC but Srilanka is very doubtful. I am pretty much pissed with the way the English team has played so far in this bilateral series. They just don't have the zeal to win a single match. Pathetic bowling by them by the way. They cannot even defend a score of 300+ show how lack of bowling talent is affecting this team.

Well, we are talking about the England side minus Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson. Chris Woakes is the only regular pacer who was included in the 2nd ODI. Reece Topley and Olly Stone are not considered as regulars. And Sam Curran also doesn't bowl a lot these days. On top of that the two spinners (Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid) went for plenty. Maybe things will change once Jofra Archer comes back from his injury. And Rehan Ahmed is emerging as a quality spin option, although I am not sure how suitable is his style of bowling for the limited overs cricket.
I hope after Jofra archers inclusion the weak bowling line up of the English side changes but to an extent he can bowl 10 overs in limited cricket. England needs another two good and responsible  pace bowlers which at the moment is not happening. They tested a few in this series but none of them are good enough it seems.
