What's happening with the women's T20 tri series between India, SA & WI? I just finished the highlights of the match between India and WI. I was surprised DRS was not used in that game. Is there something that I don't know or in women cricket DRS has been not included or only for this tri series they are not using it. There were couple of questionable outs given by the umpires in favour of both teams. DRS is generally not used except in important series or series of big teams. And umpires are often giving wrong decisions due to not using DRS. I would say the use of DRS should be made mandatory at present. DRS technology should be used in all first-class cricket. Any team can lose because of a wrong decision by the umpire. And it's normal for people to make mistakes. So I have to rely a little on technology. I have seen DRS technology not used in BPL. So the umpire is making a lot of wrong decisions. And this has led to controversy.

DRS is costly tech so not financially sustainable as these sorts of series hardly generate any revenue. Only Women's WC (Senior) uses DRS tech.

Lot of criticism of Lucknow's pitch. I didn't watch a single ball but the scoreboard tells a very clear story that it was an extremely tough pitch to bat on, which we don't see in T-20. 

Having said that it's not a bad idea to have a such kind of pitch once in a while, despite T-20 being a batter's game. It gives us a reality check of where these modern batsmen stand in the pecking order.

Well.. I am confused. No one was complaining when 400+ totals were being made in the ODI matches. 90% of the matches that are being hosted by India are being played in pitches where the bowlers get zero assistance. Once in a while we get pitches like the one in Lucknow and suddenly all the hell breaks loose. Honestly, I am against both types of pitches. Cricket should be played in surfaces where both the bowlers and batsmen have adequate support. Else, the fans will get bored after some time and they will stop watching cricket. Apart from improving the personal stats of individual players, it is not going to benefit anyone.

Batriarchy at best and poor Ballsheviks are second class citizens in the cricketing world and among Ballsheviks, spinners are third class citizens.

If Batter scores run then it's all good. If Pitch is assisting seamers and pacers then wow it's the beauty of cricket but all hell breaks loose when the ball starts spinning.

Dhaka Dominators vs Fortune Barishal I really enjoyed a great game between these two teams. I did not imagine that Dhaka Dominators will win today's match. I thought that Dhaka Dominators might perform poorly in today's match.  Dominators won by 5 wickets.Dhaka Dominators showed a great batting performance.

He wasn't patient enough. Soumya Sarkar and Mithun were outstanding with the bat today. Their batting was the critical point in winning the match.

I understand it is costly but why such discrimination? I did not enjoy the match for the first reason it was unfair on both the team's part and second it got dominated by India as soon as the captain of WI got out. If you want women's T20 cricket to be engaging as well as entertaining you need to bring it to par with men's T20 cricket.

DRS technology is very important for accuracy of decisions in recent matches as the efficiency of umpires on ground are bit questionable in some cases so this technology should be in all international matches to get fair results.
We have seen some great examples of wrong umpiring decisions on ground lead to failure in important matches .

Great chase from the Comilla Victorians. We can't blame the bowlers, because there is similarity between both the innings. Khulna Tigers have lost just 2 wickets and Comilla Victorians have lost 3 wickets while reaching the target. This shows the pitch is good for batting and not for bowling. In these kind of pitches, it is very difficult for the bowlers.

One can call it discriminatory behavior from the ICC or Cricket Boards.

But at the same time, you have to be practical. A large part of Women's cricket is based on a subsidy model and most of the cricket boards (except BIG-3) can't afford to add additional costs to their bills.

If ICC wants to make DRS mandatory, then they need to foot the bill. There are boards such as Ireland who were forced to cancel bilateral tours due to the lack of funds. Given this, it may not be the right thing to do if the national boards need to bear the burden of DRS. Anyway, they (ICC) are awash with money after the media rights deal with Star-Disney. Rather than stealing money in the name of "administrative costs" the ICC officials can spend a part of it wisely by using a part of it for the DRS. BTW, I am not hearing much about the ongoing media rights auction. After the sub-continent auction, ICC seems to have gone completely silent over it.

I would say this was the most exciting and enjoyable match of BPL. Even after giving a huge target of 211 runs to the Khulna team, they will be defeated. After giving such a huge target, everyone assumed that Khulna would win the match very easily. But Comilla proved everyone wrong and easily won the match. Johnson Charles and Rizwan's brilliant batting gave Comilla an easy win. The performance of the Khulna bowlers was very poor. Every bowler in the team except Nasum Ahmed gave a lot of runs.

Just noticed that the ICC hasn't increased the number of teams for the Women's T20 World Cup. I checked the format for both the 2024 and 2026 editions, and found that there are only 10 participants. And out of that, only 2 teams can progress from the qualifier tournaments. This is really pathetic. On one hand, the ICC claims that they want to expand cricket using T20 format, and still restricts the tournament to a handful of nations. We recently had the women's U-19 world cup, and many of the associate nations performed really well there (especially Rwanda and Indonesia). It would be very disappointing if the 2023 tournament turns out to be the last foray in to ICC tournaments for most of these players.
