10. Bhutan - $4,256.33

Few months back there was an article on Bhutan on how the Kingdom has been secretly mining Bitcoin using natural resources. When they are mining using green energy why would they need to spend money on electricity. I am not sure why was Bhutan mentioned in this article. If the King is mining will he allow his citizens to venture into this direction. I do not think so.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket Asia Cup 2023! Which team will WIN? on: September 03, 2023, 02:03:16 AM
An exciting match getting abandoned due to the rain. I was expecting to see Pakistan batting and chasing a target of 267. I never expected that the match will get abandoned. Both team get 1 points each. While Pakistan qualifies for the super 4 stage in the Asia Cup, India is distant behind for now.

Afridi and Naseem were responsible for the small target by India. If Ishan and Hardik had not played well then the target would have been less than 200. This time the Indian middle order was able to hadle the pressure. Bhumbra played far better than the Indian batting top order. I never expected Gill to struggle so much against the Pakistani bowling power. He was worst than Rohit & Kohli in this match as he was able to score just 10 runs after facing 32 balls.

Next match is between India and Nepal. I don't think India will have much issues with the weaker Nepali side. The only problem would be rain as it can cause the match to get abandoned.

I had a feeling yesterday, when the match got interrupted twice due to rain that this match would get abandoned. This time of the year organizing a tournament in Srilanka is a big mistake. Other upcoming matches might get affected due to rain. The next match between India & Nepal is being played on the same ground. The fate of that match can be similar to yesterdays match.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 03, 2023, 01:58:17 AM
Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

Never enjoyed betting on any games that is termed cruel. You van search the internet and you find the cruelty of horse racing. Both the jockey and the horse are at great risk of getting injured while racing. There have been incidents reported in the media where these young colt have died due to racing. In such situation how can anyone bet on such a game. It is far better to bet on sports like football and others. It's is nothing but my choice that I avoid gambling in such games.

The weather forecast for Kandy doesn't look good. Rain might play a spoil sport for the highly anticipated match in this tournament. I won't be happy if duckworth Lewis is used or the match gets abandoned. This time of the year rain is predicted in Srilanka.

Pakistan is all geared up for the match but India is still in dilemma to choose between Shami or Thakur. Considering the batting abilities of Thakur I think they should go with him. In worst scenario if the upper batting line-up doesn't perform he could come handy.
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best suited place for bitcoin symbol's before or after amounts? on: September 02, 2023, 04:15:11 AM
Bitcoin is not a fiat currency which needs Individual identity. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency with a symbol as a resemblance to its existence. You can add it's symbol in any ways you want there is nothing wrong with that. I personally prefer adding the BTC1 before the numbers. When I am not putting the symbol I generally add BTC after the number. It all depends on you as an independent Individual where you want it to be.

Never expected Bangladesh to play so badly against Srilanka. Pathirana I guess was exceptionally good yesterday. The fielding of Srilankan players were spot on. They were able to suffocate Bongs batter from the first over. 164 is not an ideal target for a ODI and that too in a tournament. Srilankan batters were not that good too, it was evident they were struggling on that pitch. It took them 39 overs and 5 wickets to chase such a small target.

1092  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Biden administration unveils (proposes) new crypto tax reporting rules on: August 30, 2023, 01:54:42 AM
That is a proposal for the moment but it might become a reality. If that happens then DEX and Web3 wallets providers would ask their customers to pass KYC. No more anoymity  and zero privacy in the making. The worst would be that every country would follow the US if this proposal becomes a law.
1093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just Learnt About A Major Risk Involved In Stable Coins on: August 29, 2023, 05:59:32 AM
Unless and until you are into trading or want to do a transaction of fixed amount, it is good if you stay away from stablecoin. They are lot more risk & uncertainty involved in keeping stablecoin. It is better to always have Bitcoin over any other cryptocurrency, if you want to convert your fiat to crypto.

1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Glitches still affects online casinos? Or it's the casinos that sucks on: August 28, 2023, 03:58:35 AM
I have never experienced a game crashing while I playing. Sometimes there is lagging but that is only for few minutes and then everything goes fine. If you had faced such a problem then do check your internet. A casinos server has the ability to handle thousands of customers request at the same time without any issue. Games are coded in such a way that they don't crash in between the game or after. Unless you can provide any proof no one here or the casino will believe you.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket Asia Cup 2023! Which team will WIN? on: August 28, 2023, 12:00:15 AM
I feel this time we would see both Indian & Pakistan in the finals. It would be great if my wish comes true as the cricket faternity more than one matche from these two old rivals. We only are able to watch them play against each other in ICC events this time we get the opportunity to watch them in ACC event.

Great to see Nepal being part of the tournament. I haven't witnessed them playing ever since I heard Nepal has an international cricket team. I hope they deliver what they are expected to do. They would be playing their first international match I guess against Pakistan. It won't be that easy for them to defeat a good team like Pakistan.

1098  Local / India / Re: India proposes AI-powered conversational payments system — RBI on: August 26, 2023, 06:32:08 AM
Even though I support whenever any government thinks of progressive tech but I don't really get this Idea. Why is AI needed for Conversational payments? There is no brain needed for Conversational payments. You just say you want to pay 500 INR to anyone it should automatically pay it just like any other audio device like Alexa. Moreover isn't it dangerous? Yes AI might use voice recognition system to avoid that hacking but AI Can easily be used to even replicate someone's voice. So I don't really understand the point of this innovation?

I did some thinking after your reply and found out that this technology would be highly useful for those who are struggling to use UPI. Most old age person are not that proficient with the new technology. Inmean the age group of 55 & above. They are good with WhatsApp and Facebook but fear using UPI as they might do something wrong and lose their money. For them this feature would be very helpful. Another aspect that I think the government would add in the future is voice based biometric technology with the AI. That will enhance the security of transaction being done. As I said earlier this feature won't be helpful for everyone and I know feel it is being added to help a specific age group.

At the same time, there are equal chances of getting scammed. Just imagine how good malicious AI can be when these voices are recorded and then AI generates your voice to make payments to hackers.
Just see how generative AI is creating images of people and I assume the same can be done with voice and so I think AI should not be used for payments at all costs.
It's a terrible idea to use AI for payments.

Agreed AI technology can become an issue in this matter. Not only in India but in other countries globally there isn't any law or regulation for AI. While the world was thinking about crypto regulation, the dominance of AI can become much worst for governments globally. At the moment there is only one state in the US that has said AI based art won't fall under the copyright law.

1100  Local / India / Re: Crypto P2P scams in India show digital asset education is needed on: August 25, 2023, 06:38:13 AM
I am sorry to say but Indians can't resist greed. They know it is risky and still, they fall for offers that offer more than the market. The community still doesn't understand how cryptocurrency taxes are calculated. I have read so many comments on various Indian telegram channels that they won't pay a 30 percent tax on crypto earnings.

Whereas tax is not on earnings but it is on gains through the earnings. If they get their head right I don't think they will as the young generation lack reading skills. If they read and understand it they would stop using P2P and start using local exchanges. From 2017 to 2021 everyone who was into crypto in India earned a handsome amount of money. Now when they are being asked to pay tax only on their gains most of them are ignoring. When the Indian government comes up with regulation, the most affected exchanges would be those that encourage P2P and non-KYC services.

I don't think people try to avoid the tax are falling for this kind of scams because the amount they are selling is like 3K to 10K INR but definitely greed blindside them that is why their common sense doesn't kick why someone is paying too much money more than the worth of the asset without a catch.

Still, 30% capital gains tax and 1% TDS is too much, so certainly it will push the users to find a way to avoid the tax which mostly end up in traps like these scams.

I do agree the highest tax slab and 1% TDS are killing those who are into trading. They use International exchanges to save themselves from Incometax and fall in the trap of scammers. That is why it is being recommended to not use International P2P exchanges for the time being. If still they want to use it then no one can help them.
