2161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will old Cold storage MEW work since we merged? on: September 25, 2022, 01:52:12 AM
AFAIK, Nothing has changed in Ethereum except to modify the mining method, which is not very suitable for beginners, so your coins are in cold storage safely and you only need to update the Neo application "if needed" or use the private key to transfer to other wallets.

For more read ---> https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/x0pfrw/what_happens_to_the_eth_in_my_cold_wallet_after/

What do you mean I need to update the “neo” application? I am using MEW.

I tried reading the Reddit but it got off topic pretty quick. People started to talk about ETH POW and such and not answer the main question.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will old Cold storage MEW work since we merged? on: September 24, 2022, 03:24:30 PM
I got an old MEW on cold storage. Probably 2-3 years old. I rarely do any ETH transactions. I just use the MyEtherWallet Offline helper and made transactions like that. All my transactions are Legacy transactions.

Wondering if after the merge this will still work? Is it backwards compatible or will I have to update my MEW on cold storage?

2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Basic Attention Token Price Prediction | Is BAT a Good Investment? on: September 24, 2022, 03:20:04 AM
This token was really popular back in 2017. I quickly topped at $1 and made people a lot of money. Right now however you don’t really hear anything about it. The hype is gone.

Sure it pumped to $2 back in late 2021 but so did most coins. I just think this will have a slow bleed and go nowhere really. Especially in the middle of a bear market.
2164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 24, 2022, 03:13:51 AM
There really isn’t that many people that are entering crypto right now. Most are leaving. There is no new money coming in. Same with stocks. Why risk your money when you can get almost 5% risk free with bonds.

People are just pumping alts like Luna, XRP and Doge and then dumping them quickly before they start to lose money. Going to be a tough winter until macro conditions improve.
2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Found a new gold shell miner for Doge/LTC on: September 24, 2022, 03:08:13 AM
We all sold doge way too early. I remember I bought a bunch at like 20 sats because if you load DogeBTC on Poloniex you will see that whenever doge hits 15-25 sat area it always has a crazy rally. Poloniex chart is the only one that shows this because it’s like the oldest exchange for doge.

Anyways so I bought a bunch at 20 sats and set some limit orders at 50 sats and 99 sats and would just forget about it. Well shortly after I got that fill at 20 sats Elon started to pump it and it immediately filed at both limit sells.

Then it went to like 1000 sats along with BTC pumping and I sold long ago. Not the only one feeling like an idiot.
2166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 4090 and others on: September 23, 2022, 03:26:03 PM
Most of these 4080/4090 cards are also take 4 slots. Doubt casual miners/gamers will use those 2 of those in their pc cases are they can accomendate just 1 with those beasts.

Yeah I am surprised they take 4 slots. Back in 2015 I had a Radeon 7970 which took 3 slots and I assumed that was crazy.

For mining it wasn't bad since it was all on an open air rig, it was better because it ran cooler since it had a massive heatsink. I take it is possible to have a few of these in close proximity...

however none will be used for mining and I doubt gamers will buy more than 1 anyways. No benefit.
2167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In your opinion, which altcoin do you think is going to be the new king of POW on: September 23, 2022, 03:20:49 PM
The alternatives to eth are not lacking obviously you will never have the same earnings i would say that you can easily choose between etc, raven, ergo, ethw i would suggest you try them all and see which is the most performing with your equipment

Right now if I had to choose I would go with ETHW.Why you may ask? That is simple because it has the lowest difficulty compared to ETC and ERGO and the price is super cheap.I know it got hacked pretty soon but that was on an exchange and not on your personal Metamask wallet so I would not care much about that news yet,one has only benefits to get from this coin if all the predictions come true and it goes like at least the all time high of ETC at 179 USD for a coin.Right now a 300 Mhsh rig does more than 4 such coins monthly, for the future it is the best investment anyone can make in my opinion.

I agree however it really needs a listing on Binance to have a future. Most of the whales trade on there. If it gets listed on Binance, it will have perp futures on many exchanges and I can see it being pumped in the near future. However its very strange that Binance creditted users, enabled withdraws but didnt allow trading.

There must be a good reason why they did this. Normally they instantely list any altcoins. This one being very popular they refuse to list it for some reason.
2168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MatchX M2 Pro Miner - Bittawm Trust Review (Earn over $10/day using 3.5watts) on: September 23, 2022, 03:18:00 PM
Why didn't Satoshi think of something similar as this. Where you can only have a certain number of miners in close proximity, it would be perfect for decentralization.

Honestly, I never knew this existed. Its pretty cool.

With GPU down the drain it might get some sales. Miners are desperate for income right now. How long has this miner been out? Over 2 years now. Surprised i've never heard about it before.
2169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Found a new gold shell miner for Doge/LTC on: September 23, 2022, 03:11:40 PM
I think this was around $2000 or so. It was more popular in the days when Elon was pumping Doge.

Right now I think who ever wants to sell it is mining with it and waiting to find someone to spend >$2000 on this miner. Who knows. Maybe some GPU miner will buy it since it can yield a profit compared to GPU mining. Usually there is always someone crazy to pay these prices for a ASIC.
2170  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Eyes On Bitcoin’s Monthly Close on: September 23, 2022, 03:06:38 PM
I am no crypto bear, I am a long time crypto bull but you need to look at the macro. Yields are hitting highs, stocks are about to break yearly lows. Last months inflation was higher than expected. Last employment numbers werent what we wanted to see.

Looks like there is going to be a major correction on housing. Winter is coming and it'll be worse for Europe.

Right now is best to stay put.
2171  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ask about The Best Wallets for Bitcoin ? on: September 23, 2022, 03:19:36 AM
Honestly if you have to ask. You should just keep it on an exchange for now until you do some research.

On the exchange make sure you use a unique password and enable 2FA. And make sure 2FA is not by SMS and you should be fine. Sure its not 100% keeping on an exchange but its better than using some wallet online and you end up getting a virus and getting it stolen.
2172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading = Analysis - (Instinct + Emotions) on: September 23, 2022, 03:17:44 AM
Yes this is why many short term traders never make it. They even did a study on this. Many traders that are retail actually take good trades but its their exit that hurts them. They usually take profits too early and let their losses rise exponentially.

This is why many traders usually have 1 bad day and end up blowing their entire account. This happens every few months in crypto. Usually there is a huge liquidation cascade and you hear people losing their entire accounts. This is no different in stock trading.
2173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 23, 2022, 03:11:55 AM
After the FOMC I am pretty sure we will go lower. No idea how much but we will retest the yearly low most likely.

This is due to the fact that bond yields have risen alot in the past 2 days and the stock market looks like its about to retest the yearly low also. Since they are closely correlated so will most crypto assets.

It will be like this until the next CPI report most likely. Or maybe if the unemployment numbers are weak.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Poor Nvidia and AMD on: September 22, 2022, 04:07:11 PM
I think the issue with Nvidia is that they are trying to be the next Apple. They basically made it very difficult for AIB to profit, so no surprise that EVGA left the GPU market. And they like Apple, are overcharging for everything and they think their loyal followers will pay these prices.

According to the forums, many of the Nvidia fan boys are just going to turn to AMD. They need to becareful what they do in the future because their stock and business can come crashing down very quickly.

2175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Microstrategy purchased again 301BTC. Is this a sign? on: September 22, 2022, 03:21:40 AM
When he bought in the $10 k area back in 2020 many were surprised by his purchases. And he had a small average something like $12345 for a while.

However his mistakes were buying more in the $50K and higher region. And this is why he has a high average at $30K.

This is a problem because it will make you think. When BTC goes back to $30k will he lighten his position a little? Probably.
2176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In your opinion, which altcoin do you think is going to be the new king of POW on: September 22, 2022, 03:15:15 AM
I keep checking my classifieds and I am seeing 2 types of listings.

First is someone saying they will buy any and all mining GPUs. Saying why sell 1 by 1 when you can sell everything to them. They mentioned that they won’t pay inflated prices. Most likely buy GPUs at half price and flip on ebay?

Second is someone selling a GPU and every ad it mentions “never mined with”. So you know it was mined with.
2177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW EthereumPoW on: September 22, 2022, 03:12:11 AM
Yes it’s most likely due to that replay attack. I think they might be waiting and seeing if any other issues arrive. They have the withdraws enabled so it seems odd not to enable the trading.

The replay attack I don’t understand. Maybe someone can explain. Someone sent 200 ETH on the real ETH network using a smart contract and got 200WETH and they replayed it on the ETHW blockchain and also got 200 WETH? If so why did the other token allow ETHW transactions. This is where I am puzzled a little.
2178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Poor Nvidia and AMD on: September 22, 2022, 03:08:09 AM
Nvidia new GPU was released and price is staggering. If you go and read on Nvidia forums or Reddit groups most gamers are saying they aren’t going to buy the new GPUs they will just buy used ones from miners.

I am pretty sure this will be the trend from now on. Why would anyone pay such high prices for a GPU. If anything they should of released this 2 months prior and they would get more sales. Now I don’t think many have that kind of money to spend on a GPU when you can buy an entry level gaming desktop for a similiar price.
2179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW EthereumPoW on: September 20, 2022, 10:29:14 PM
Well disappointing news...

Binance has creddited ETHW and enabled withdraws. However for some reason they did not open trading? Why.

Without Binance I don't think the coin will be much of a success. So far largest exchanges are FTX and Kraken and Bitfinex. Was hoping to get Coinbase and Binance.

2180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scalping, my best trading strategy on: September 20, 2022, 02:38:07 AM
I tried scalping years ago. Tried it with crypto, stocks and forex and the conclusion is this. AVOID!

You will pull your hair out and go crazy. You got no edge trading on. 1m chart. You will be chopped to bits. Trust me I tried all the different strategies.

You will have a good week and it’ll take 1 bad trade and you will be back to break even trading like this.
