It's probs because I am very VERY old!
Or you could read the post right above yours that gives the real reason:
my "page detection" had some flaws
2162  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Best site for beginners to earn/save crypto without deposit on: February 16, 2024, 11:35:35 AM
revolutionize the way beginners earn and save crypto without any initial deposit.
This is a lie. Faucet sites have been around for many years, and sites trying to make money from referrals aren't new either.

Zero Investment, Maximum Returns
Faucets will never give "maximum returns". It's crummies at best, and a waste of time in general.

Navigating the crypto world can be daunting for beginners, but not with Bitcoinsguide.org. Our user-friendly interface ensures a seamless experience for newcomers, making it easy to explore and engage with various earning opportunities.
This is not what Bitcoin is about.

Verified and Trusted Platforms
Another lie. You're promoting a site that selectively scams it's users.

Quote
Don't miss out on the opportunity to kickstart your crypto journey the right way.
I think there are much better ways for anyone to start using and understanding Bitcoin. You're just promoting your own referral site.
Did I say promoting? I mean spamming:
And looking at threads you've created, some of them are very similar where moderator may lock or delete some of them since it's very similar.

Yes.

Stake doesn't care who they hire, as long as they post a lot (of BS). Their spam was called out 5 years ago, and it's still going.

Why does it matter honestly? What other posters do or don't do has nothing to do with you.
A signature can be a very good first indication whether or not a post is worth reading. If it's Stake, chances are the only thing I do is click Ignore. It's very rare to see one that's worth my time.
2165  Economy / Reputation / Re: Plagiarist DiMarxist is back. No signature ban? on: February 16, 2024, 10:02:27 AM
He again made a low quality post
He earned 182 Merits for 399 posts. That's not bad at all, some people seem to appreciate his posts. I quickly checked his post history, and don't even want to read it. Could this be a local board thing, where too much Merit flows towards posts that aren't objectively high quality?

Sometimes bitcoin core is stopped automatically!  Roll Eyes
Bitcoin Core doesn't do that. Your OS might kill it though, when it's out of memory.

Hello, with all due respect, I'll like you to help clear the proxyban of a friend I introduced to the forum, I'll really appreciate if she's whitelisted.

Username: Princess Leah
She's whitelisted now.

Wouldn't ImageMagick be easier to automate things than The GIMP?
Possibly.  For which step in particular?
I can't tell, I've never used The GIMP for automating anything, but I use ImageMagick a lot. I mentioned it because it may be worth looking into.

Wow, that seems like quite the tool!  I'm not sure I need all the power it provides, so I'm going to stick to GIMP for now.  Thank you though!
You're welcome Smiley Having more options is always good Smiley
2169  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 16, 2024, 06:56:29 AM
But when I look at loyce.club I see that I should be in DT2, as 1miau is DT1 this month and he has me on his trust list.
You're not on DT.

The DT1-status on my Trust list viewer is wrong. I'll look into it.

Okay, here's what happened: I fucked up Tongue Last week, there was a problem with my usernames scraper, which means I reset and restarted my Trust list update. The week before that, a name change messed up my update, after which I reset and restarted my Trust list update. And this is where I forgot to copy back the DefaultTrust changes. So, in short, the DT1-status on the last 2 updates of my Trust list viewer are outdated. I'll leave the previous week untouched, and I'm currently running an update for the last week. I won't change the time stamp on that week, since no data other than the DT1-status will be altered.
Thanks for noticing this, even though you thought the error was with BPIP.
2170  Economy / Reputation / Re: Where do we draw a line? Signature campaigns or shilling campaigns on: February 15, 2024, 12:32:06 PM
It's not addressed period. Since some here argue that it's not right and some argue that it's an acceptable power for advertisers/campaign managers to have, I believe admins/mods should make it clear whether a signature campaign implies a purchase of your freedom to speak honestly or not.
The fact that it's not even mentioned says it all: it's up to the community. And that's the only way: there's no way for Admin to check who makes what deal in private.

Quote
I'm sure if a campaign manager made it as clear as what's in bold, they'd receive backlash for manipulating speech.
I wouldn't mind. You can't have selective freedom of speech. Freedom of speech comes with campaign managers having the same freedom. If you don't like it, don't join the campaign.

Quote
That's up to you. Lying is allowed on Bitcointalk.
Just because it's allowed, it doesn't mean that one should. Especially while helping someone with a choice or giving them your opinion.
Don't get me wrong, I agree. But that doesn't mean the freedom to do so shouldn't exist. I think we disagree on how much freedom anyone should get on this forum, and I always think of theymos as a bit of an anarchist, so I'm pretty sure he's not going to restrict this freedom.

Quote
Since you've raised my curiosity, how often do you lie on BitcoinTalk? Maybe that's a good topic to give me a reality check...even though the data would probably be inaccurate Roll Eyes
Interesting question, I've actually thought about it before. I think I've never lied, but I'd instantly have to add a disclaimer: at least not intentional. But that doesn't mean I answer all questions. See this interview for example.
On the other hand, lying is a social construct. Everyone lies many times per day, and most people wouldn't like you if you're always brutally honest.

Quote
So helping another member who is asking for experience or opinions would then be foregone, just for the advertiser? Still doesn't sound right to me.
I'm not saying it's right. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed. The longer I'm here, the more I appreciate theymos' "hands off" approach. Who's going to decide what's right or wrong? There will always be edge cases, and it can quickly become a slippery slope.

In the real world, advertising influences pretty much everything around you.
And is that right?
No. But we don't live in an utopian world. I'd love to see 99% less advertising in my life. My browser alone has literally blocked millions of ads.

Quote
Wasn't Bitcoin created to change a part of the world that is wrong? Are we aiming to be like the real world on Bitcointalk, or something better? That is an option and power that we as a community have, one of the beauties of the internet...Why not have the goal to be better, instead of using the real world as justification not to be better?
Great questions! But let's keep it up to the community to find an answer, while "upper management" gives us the freedom to choose.

No.
See Coinb.in's Bitcoin Fee Calculator, and play around with the sliders.

Centimillionaire
Thanks, the word exists Cheesy But as a non-native English speaker it sounds like "you own cents".
2173  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why High Demand for Bitcoin Testnet Coins? on: February 15, 2024, 10:23:49 AM
I wonder whether someone finally notice Bitcoin testnet3 remain alive for more than 10 years and makes it suitable to store data "forever".
Even if testnet3 ends, nothing is stopping the Ordinal spammers from keeping the chain alive. Or, more likely, they'll find a way to charge their users for bridging their BS to another chain.
2174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2024, 09:50:06 AM
I consider a millionaire someone who is a whole-coiner in BTC, so has 1 BTC plus more to spare for spending in the future ideally.
I like the idea, but the name doesn't make sense. 10 Bitcoin makes you a satoshi billionaire. Is there even a word for owning 100 million?
2175  Economy / Services / Re: LoyceV's Avatar for Rent [first 🦊🦊🦊🦊4 YEARS🦊🦊🦊🦊 (238 weeks) rented out] on: February 15, 2024, 09:38:26 AM
I bet you can setup a machinery to spot edits in posts in less time than re-reading the whole thread.
Wait a minute, I did that: LoyceV's Topic Details: highlight deleted and edited posts (forum wide) Cheesy But It's been "temporarily" out of order since 2021. I never bothered to fix it, the problem is my "old" and "new" scraping methods differ. Let's test anyway: https://loyce.club/archive/details/topic_5121375.html (this links to an old archive that isn't updating).
2176  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why High Demand for Bitcoin Testnet Coins? on: February 15, 2024, 09:28:00 AM
I noticed something else: many Testnet blocks are full! They're close to the maximum "Weight", which means there's a massive number of testnet transactions being created. It's still better than on-chain Ordinal spam on the real Bitcoin blockchain of course.
I also noticed most blocks take slightly over 20 minutes, which is the maximum time on Testnet before the difficulty drops. I think that means barely anyone is mining Testnet with sufficient hashrate anymore.
2177  Economy / Reputation / Re: Where do we draw a line? Signature campaigns or shilling campaigns on: February 15, 2024, 09:08:51 AM
Correct. It's not forbidden.

Can they threaten campaign positions for content that is not actually dangerous to anyone, just like the OP?
Yes, of course Smiley "If you post about Kitchenaid mixers again, I'll stop paying you" is a perfectly fine deal. Take it or leave it.
Would that not cause people to compromise their honesty?
Maybe. But if their loyalties can be bought, I'd argue they were never honest to begin with.

Quote
Did the OP really go out of their way to recommend Sparrow, or did they just participate in normal conversation?
I don't think OP was talking about himself.

Quote
If I have a signature for Bitcoin Core and someone asks "what is everyone's favourite wallet?"
Does that mean I have to say Bitcoin Core even though my honest preference is Electrum?
That's up to you. Lying is allowed on Bitcointalk.

Quote
If I say Electrum can Bitcoin Core kick me from the campaign rightfully?
Of course. They can choose who they pay or don't pay.

Quote
If I say Bitcoin Core instead of Electrum just to keep my signature, isn't there a big problem with that?
You could just say nothing.
I've often seen the opposite argument too: if you say the thing in your signature is good, people say you're shilling. It's a fine line, which is why I don't want to adjust my posting based on my signature.

Quote
Does signing up to a signature campaign now mean that we have to be mindful (or have to compromise) our honest opinions?
I try not to. That's all I can do. I'm glad no one wants to pay me to say Hamilton Beach mixers are better than Kitchenaid mixers Tongue

I suppose my idealistic view of advertising is different then. I don't think advertising should influence speech, period. That just feels what is most right to me...
In the real world, advertising influences pretty much everything around you.
2178  Economy / Services / Re: FREE/PAY BITCOIN TRANSACTION ACCELERATOR on: February 15, 2024, 08:29:57 AM
I'm curious: HOW? I always thought those "accelerator" threads were this BS, but this low-fee transaction was actually confirmed by ViaBTC without using CPFP. If that's you, that means you have some "tricks" us mortals don't have, and if that's the case, you don't get nearly enough credit for it. So tell me: how do you do it?
2179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need help with a list of ALL non custodial wallet before 2019. on: February 15, 2024, 08:16:53 AM
I switched from wallet because I wanted to collect my forks and I did collect those.
It's possible some malware Fork wallet already stole your Bitcoin. Why would you "switch wallet" instead of create a new wallet and keep the old one?

I just need remember where to search for I probably hidden the seed phrase on the computer.
This doesn't make much sense. If you stored a seed phrase on your computer, you'll have to look at all files containing text. Or maybe even images. You can have given it any name you wanted, so there's no point asking us.

You need to organize your files Tongue And take a look at [overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format.
2180  Economy / Services / Re: LoyceV's Avatar for Rent [first 🦊🦊🦊🦊4 YEARS🦊🦊🦊🦊 (238 weeks) rented out] on: February 15, 2024, 07:48:00 AM
I can confirm.
You are not the only one re-reading this thread.
I spotted other time travelling easter eggs as well.
Now you got me curious Tongue But I'm not taking the bait, I don't have time to re-read 80 pages.

I am drinking right now, but is there really a surprise? I went through all the pages (kinda rapidly - because of the alcohol) and didn't spot it!
Look harder Tongue
