Two hundred and forty-ninth week paid. Thanks again for your flawless timing! With a transaction fee of $50, I presume the miner is part of the club. Fees are crazy I hope LoyceV is okay enough to reply sooner or later in the thread. I feel better than last week All tests were okay. So I guess I must have caught several different viruses in a row. I've also decided to start ignoring feeling ill, and just do my normal things again. Let's see if I make it Which illness week is this one? Week 13.5, I think. Still no fever whatsoever. As for my timing: the kids have Christmas vacation, and sleep a bit later now. So we were busy, it turns out MehMeh is very interested in tools. Fun times

Can I try? I'll also get you a copy at loyce.club/other/tmp/ if you email (<username>alenzuela@gmail) me the image. I've sent it, the format is zip file in Wetransfer link, I think it's better to not make a copy since I don't need it anymore. I could upload it to TalkImg without problems. It shows Upload complete with a green tick box. But when I try to post the image, it doesn't work:

I can think of another one:
There are some Bitcoin puzzle hunters who are currently struggling at the 66bit puzzle. That's a good point, I guess those puzzles will (eventually) have the faith as transactions from leaked private keys: most if not all funds will go to miners. It was predicted here and already happened here. The only way I can see here would be to run a full node, explicitly deactivate full-rbf (not to be confused with opt-in rbf!) and put your transaction in there. That doesn't matter, other nodes can do full RBF anyway. And miners would be dumb not to do it: higher fees mean more income for them.

yesterday I managed to push 2 tx and to my surprise there were still empty spaces minutes after the hours I guess I'll check every hour. If the bots aren't taking it, humans get a chance. Update: At the moment, it shows "19 remaining FREE". But when I try, I get "Submissions are beyond limit. Please try later." And when I reload the page, it still shows 19. So it doesn't work anymore.

|
|
Why don't you want to make your transaction support replace-by-fee? The only reason to want non-RBF transactions, is to accept zero-confirmation transactions. But, with more and more full-RBF nodes, you shouldn't rely on that. Just wait for a confirmation to be sure.

The problem is how ViaBTC free accelerator is being abused by bots. 294 out of 302 transactions are related to ordinals. I can only hope they're realize that now, and didn't take a 2 week Christmas vacation.

If you need to run because there's a fire, thieves, or gov becomes north korea, you can put your 2 drives in a bag and gtfo, without worrying about no laptop. You only need to bring one of the drives Have you also thought about backups? Even better if they're fire proof? SD cards or usb sticks or SSD drives would make you paranoid that there was a way to recover keys. If you really want to, they're very easy to destroy (mechanically).

I always thought he hot wallet laptop looks kinda "ugly" or offputing, it just looks like you have 0 funds It's a feature, not a bug. If you want to have a secure air gapped system, you'll have to put your mind over such tiny inconveniences.

I will try to find a sponsor for this event That would be cool, but what sponsor would be interested in an event that barely filled the first page in a month? (to smooth out the bitter disappointment of the last competition). What disappointment? I couldn't be happier: Tue Dec 26 00:00:02 UTC 2023 (see source for daily updates) ~ 7. Bitcoin: $2630.06Bitcoin Price (0.06045697 BTC): $2630.06 Take at least one altcoin beyond the 100th position on Coingecko. Mine climbed from 101 to 69 (Lol) already. Does that still count?

so you can create your seed phrase by flipping a coin and then use that on the hardware wallet? they let you put in your own seed phrase, i'm assuming. would that be an acceptable thing for you? Ledger hardware wallets can "phone home" to send your seed phrase, so no, connected to an online computer I still wouldn't trust them. It's basically a hot wallet nowadays.

Maybe we should introduce something more radical, to completely disable the ability to send PMs. Removing a feature because someone who used the feature did something that's not even forbidden seems like a terrible solution.

AFAIK, the only ones who can help you here are QuicksellerThat was a long time ago: I have not been able to help with stuck transactions for years and still receive messages asking for help

You report your taxes, but what do you do if the address that pays you had tainted coins, and once you deposit them on an exchange Give me the official definition of tainted coins. I'll help you: it doesn't exist. There are several companies trying to sell the idea of taint, but it only exists when you believe it. And I don't believe it. Most banknotes contain traces of cocaine, and that doesn't matter. Fungibility means all banknotes are equal. The same applies to Bitcoin. And just like banks don't want to take banknotes from criminals, exchanges don't want to take Bitcoins from criminals. If you're not a criminal, you'll be able to prove you legally earned those Bitcoins. And you should be okay. it activates an alarm next to your dox. Not a great situation to be at. True, it's annoying having to deal with this.

If you send me doge or ltc.
I can send you LN btc from my nicehash mining wallet. That's the opposite of what OP needs. He doesn't have inbound liquidity, so he can't receive your LN funds. I fact A general question is if I want to offer the service of sending btc From my Ln on nicehash to your LN
where could I advertise this? That fits in Marketplace (Altcoins). I've tried this in Currency Exchange, but my topic was moved. Say up to 0.003 btc for
doge and a much smaller fee. or for ltc and a much smaller fee. Why not juse use an instant exchanger for this?

A closure of such channels may make sense for Phoenix. You're right, my reasoning was wrong. Most of the funds are locked on Phoenix' end of the channel, and they locked even more than I deposited. Makes me wonder how profitable this is for them: it looks like they're just HODLing their funds in open channels, but they can't earn much unless people send and receive many transactions.

Even at this scenario malware can infect BIOS/UEFI chip and then penetrate into portable HDD with bootable OS and wallet which formally are not connected to internet. How likely is this? I have a fake Chinese USB stick (only the first 8 GB exist), and after booting Linux from that stick (which worked), the UEFI bios settings were changed and "secure boot" was enabled again. I've never seen a bios change without me doing it. I changed back the settings so it could boot without "secure boot" again, but it makes me wonder what caused this. @OP: do you want to install the full blockchain on each disk? If not, a fast USB stick could be a better option than an external drive. I'm quite happy with the perforamnce of my 256 GB Sandisk "dual": it's full metal, and has "classic" USB on one end, and USB-C on the other end.

12 tries to get it to work. it is a timing issue. not too soon and not too late. you are likely a fraction to slow when you click it. What timing did you use that worked? I've tried starting at 0:00:00 (maybe 0.2 seconds after the whole hour), I've tried submitting clicking captcha at that point. None of it works, it takes about 10 seconds for the page to load, it's probably heavily overloaded by bots at that time. I just tried again: at a fraction of a second I clicked "FREE Submission", I beat 88% of the users with the captcha, but I was too late. At very least, creating and trading Ordinals would be more difficult or annoying. I don't think it's many different people doing it, my guess is that a small group of people creates millions of them, with automated systems. And I have no idea how they make many from it.

I would like to have both hot and cold drives to be portable, so in case of an emergency or something, you can easily pick 2 small things and run, instead of having to carry 2 laptops. First: I don't like external storage hard drives for wallets. USB cables are too easy to accidentally disconnect. But in your scenario, it sounds like you're running for the mob (or government), and in that case, why bother with external hard drives? All you need is your seed words, or a backup of your Bitcoin Core wallet. The smallest USB stick or SD-card will do. Just make sure the drives you leave behind are sufficiently encrypted so they can't easily be accessed. It's probably better to already have a backup in a safe location somewhere far far away, so you can run without bringing anything. I have to ask though: how likely is this scenario?

You can keep records taking screenshots, and archiving webpages too I guess. I've also made private deals. I don't see a problem with that for "my" taxman. However, the problem remains: The taxman may not enjoy that you promoted mixers I don't care what the taxman enjoys or not. Maybe he doesn't like garlic either, none of that is my problem as long as I don't do anything illegal. considering the bad rep they have nowadays, increasingly bad it seems, since they talk about passing anti mixer laws, so you would be promoting the same thing they want to ban. I stopped promoting mixers after CM, but "wanting to ban something" doesn't make it illegal right until the moment they ban it. If you hodl on this capital, by the time you cash it may be even worse by then. This is the main problem here. It is only reasonable to think in advance and try predict what the response will be when you show up with mixer sig campaign earnings. See: An ex post facto law[1] is a law that retroactively changes the legal consequences (or status) of actions that were committed, or relationships that existed, before the enactment of the law. ~ Ex post facto laws are expressly forbidden by the United States Constitution in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3 (with respect to federal laws) and Article 1, Section 10 (with respect to state laws). ~ Ex post facto criminalization is prohibited by Article 7 of the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 15(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights,[2] and Article 9 of the American Convention on Human Rights.[3] While American jurisdictions generally prohibit ex post facto laws, European countries apply the principle of lex mitior ("the milder law"). It provides that, if the law has changed after an offense was committed, the version of the law that applies is the one that is more advantageous for the accused. This means that ex post facto laws apply in European jurisdictions to the extent that they are the milder law. There's also the direct risk of depositing coins that came from sig campaign earnings into an exchange, or any mixed amounts for that matter. That's true. The exchange may ask questions, just like my bank asked questions. My bank doesn't like that any more than I do (and spying on their customers is expensive), but governments demands them to do so. But for bigger amounts, you'll have problems trying to do anything with that stored capital, which may require some more creative solutions which include additional risks. That's why I report my taxes: it prevents bigger problems in the future. Why is it that some people assume everyone is under IRS jurisdiction? It might help if you start by sharing which jurisdiction you live in. If your government can criminalize things retroactively, you have other things to worry about than just signature earnings. This problem applies under any jurisdiction as long as you use KYC exchanges with enough liquidity to matter. My bank gets a lot more nervous if I'd use P2P trading instead of an established exchange. That would mean I have financial transactions with people I don't know.

would you consider using a trezor or ledger or some hardware device that you can't really visibly verify what is going on you have to trust that it is generating random numbers? i have a hard time with that. This is one of the reasons I'd never trust a hardware wallet with a lot. But the solution, at least for this part, is simple: create your own seed from flipping coins.
