-ck, I've noticed that your pool has grown a little. If it's not to intrusive, can you tell us how many Dragonmint's are there, and how their holding up error wise???
225  Other / Meta / Re: Unlock old Bitcointalk account [Message Verified] on: April 28, 2018, 10:17:55 PM
I sent Hilariousandco the original message you sent me for verification as well. Hope this will get your account back.

Hilariousandco is very helpful with these situations. Goodluck Pablito!!!

Hey everyone!!! I'm spending some time this weekend, working on some new graphics for pool promotion. As everyone has surely noticed by now, the BTC price has gone up a bit. With the rise, I've seen some new traffic, in my campaigns. I am, however, still looking for that area, where the BIG miners hide. I've had a few good leads, but in these areas, I'm the "brand new guy" and it might take time.
My work WILL continue!!!

To our new members:

It's been about a week since we've heard from K.P. Pass the Hash's 5nd giveaway, so be on the look out for the next contest!!!

227  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 28, 2018, 12:52:05 AM
@shazam....

"longevity of these miners"  hope its not too terrible.  Myrig side will try to increase support capacity just in case!!  Currently problematic parts are simply being replaced from Myrig Service Center, eventually, the exchange be an option while the original item is being repaired and returned to the customer.  Warranty claim if you are the original purchaser, please email support@myrig.com

I hope we DON'T see any, but, it would be nice to see some realistic "replacement/exchange" numbers, so consumers can get an idea
of what to expect. That is, before, disgruntled buyers create their own out of spite. For the part of offering consumers, an option for support, good job!!! Though I am not a buyer, yet, this is a step in a positive direction.

Kano, your API advice totally worked!!! Thank You!!! Finally, I can monitor ALL my miners in one window.
229  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 27, 2018, 07:56:07 PM
I recently saw on Twitter, that Halongmining will be releasing, and accepting pre-orders on a new version of this miner. Same stuff, different footprint, with built-in psu. How many people are STILL waiting for original Dragonmint's they ordered??? Looks like
the go-fund-me money is getting low.

A well Respected member, had to take the initiative to get more pool options for Halongmining's customers, yet no publicity from
Halongmining's advertising campaign. Not even for the guy who wrote the damn firmware, and is continuing work on updating it.

For some reason, I'm not compelled to give my business to Halongmining. Where's the incentive??? I get to choose from multiple
Firmware releases, to try to get the Dragonmint to run as Advertised??? Then if it doesn't, I can wait to see if a future one will work
correctly.

Can't wait to hear about the longevity of these miners, it's next on the to don't list.

It needs to be "W:127.0.0.1,W:IP" (without the quotes)

Where IP is your IP address looking at the miner.

You can't get rid of W:127.0.0.1 otherwise, as you've seen, the miner will keep restarting coz it can't talk to my cgminer API.
i.e. both the miner linux and AM needs to be able to talk to the API, removing the W:127.0.0.1 is why it keeps restarting.

Some light reading Smiley
https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer/blob/master/API-README

Thanx!!! I'm gonna give it a try. Wish I would have asked 2 weeks ago. It slipped my memory, that, you're the one that wrote ALOT of API coding. Maybe you should add it to your signature, you deserve the credit!!!

anyone know how i can setup the 841 on awesome miner?

I got it to connect by:

On the configuration page, where your pool info is, you'll see: API Allow(Default: W:127.0.0.1). In that box it needs to be W: the ip of the pc you're using for monitoring.

But I'm not having luck:

Personally, I am still tinkering with it. The 841's, for whatever reason, drop the signal. When that happens, AM sends out a disconnected alert. It reconnects, then disconnects, about every 1-5min. When I check cgminer it's empty, so I defaulted until I get time.  I haven't tinkered again this week, I've been tracking remotely on it.

AM is working, as it should, with ALL of my other miners though. As of right now, there's not much in the AM thread concerning 841's.
If anyone else that is familiar with AM api, and Avalons in general, could chime in that'd be great!!!

Definitely not a good idea to mistake him for that name thats not to be mentioned.  Wink

So far non of my machines have broken down. They all do 91-94W/TH @ -1 config. Idk what people are complaining about

There seems to be a problem with the temps, going above 30°c. Personally, mine have been ok between 30°c and up to 38°c.
Have you seen any issues, regarding the temps of your machines?

Awesomeness!!! I wasn't sure if we really got that block. ISP is crashing on and off, and my Android app is going nuts. Then the kdb went, and sometimes the app says a block has been found when that happens. Thank You Sidewinder!!!

Also, welcome new members!!! My advice: Don't think in terms of daily online calculator payouts. Stick it out through the ramp up, and then at least a couple of months after. We do hit rough patches, like this last block, but we have double, and triple block days as well. The pool is growing,  making the ramp period shorter, and finding blocks quicker. In short, Big Corporate pools suck, Especially, Antfool. Be patient, don't jump to conclusion, and ask if you need help.
237  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A question to any and all sha-256 pool owners. on: April 24, 2018, 10:26:06 PM
I'd temper that a bit with a "Presuming ASCI-Boost machines generate more Hash/Watt than other offerings".

Like I stated : love it or hate it, it's unavoidable. The point will be missed if this turns into a debate. We have those threads already. Regardless of it's true efficiency, consumers are buying them. The important issue is, offering more available pools to chose from.
238  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: A question to any and all sha-256 pool owners. on: April 24, 2018, 08:41:10 PM
You're doing a GREAT service for the Community here Philipma!!! Love it or hate it, asicboost is unavoidable at this point. I believe that it would be in the best interest of EVERY pool, to allow the use of this technology. Not for the sake of following suit with trends or hype, but to allow more consumers, who purchase AB enabled equipment, a bigger field of options. Not to mention, keeping them all in one area, is the first step in Centralization.

With the flood of the Dragonmint alone, not to mention future releases, any Pool operator looking to keep growing with the difficulty,  should jump at this!!! Hopefully, we'll see some activity here. Once again,  Great support of the Community Philip!!! Thank You!!!
239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: April 24, 2018, 07:15:03 PM

This afternoon, I'm planning on seeing if I can flip a fan around in a sorcerer and cause it to suck in the same air that the 841 is and exhaust it forwards like the 841s and see if the inlet temps don't drop by 2-3C as a result.

Curious if anyone else noticed this or resolved it?

I have noticed this with the sorcerer, and it has become a pet peev. I've thought the same thing about going 180° with the fan, but haven't been able to make time to experiment. I've also considered, adding length to the cables.  Please be sure to post your findings.
240  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I find new members to award with merits on: April 23, 2018, 10:14:42 PM
Maybe consider a trip through the BTC mining threads. There are lots of new members there. Many of them don't even know about merit, or the general crappiness of spam campaigning. They are miners. They are here to learn and share knowledge, not make money off the forum. I've seen plenty of great useful posts on Wallets, exchange, coding, investment, tech tips etc.

Though I've personally merited some, my well runs dry, and since most senior members there don't care about merit, it gets wasted on their pal's one liner reply they agree with. It's a shame really. I've even posted, what I think is meritable, and go unnoticed, sometimes.
There are many members there, like myself, that will go years without ranking up, and in all honesty, I just want to have the rank, and coins, my signature space is donated to helping the community.
