Is there any new firmware officially announced by halongmining yet? I cannot find it on their website.
I have 10 of T1 second batch, noone reachs 16 th/s at all constantly.
One even has only 2 hashboards running instead of 3, after 4 reboots and 1 firmware reset theres no change - any suggestion?

Hidden asic boost will be killed off taking away a bitmain edge that they don’t share with the common miner.
If enough pools allow overt asic boost the big loser is bitmain. Not us.
Btw bitmain knows this and attacked the dragonmint early and hard.
Bitmain also knows this is a lost cause and rather then fight they are switching to ai coin and chips in the b3 Bytom coin as they want to be king in as many Al Gore rhythms as they can.
Where is this coming from? Covert asicboost doesnt work with segwit, so even if bitmain WAS using it they arent now. Which by the way there is NO PROOF of nor has there ever been. Bitmain is branching out and building other miners because THEY ARE A HARDWARE COMPANY. That is what they do. Why is this such a hard concept for people? If Ford only ever built the model T where would the company be now? Bitmain is forcing others to innovate or get lost in the shuffle. That is a good thing. The lack of objectivity when discussing things on this forum is disgusting.

Thanks for the great work on this firmware series -ck. I'm loving the fact that in efficiency mode I can actually work in the same room without hearing protection Do we need to re-run tuning to take advantage of the changes in 20180425_055323? Did the fan controller change from 20180421? It's overshooting/hunting more in my environment (efficiency mode / 25C room / ~35% fan speed). Lastly, a feature request for consideration - is it feasible to store the tuning results for the various modes so the tuning process isn't necessary on mode switch?

Retuning will help with balanced but not the others. Tuning takes less time now though (about 20 mins). Yes I need to roll back the fan changes, I don't like them either (not all changes are mine.)

The hardware is not free never was free and to be clear.
If people had followed my advice they would have had full info to decide if they should pay for it.
I flipped sides to say the gear was better then the s-9 only after the firmware update from ck got it to do under
.095 watts a gh.
When I received the gear at first I pointed out I was not getting specs and was doing well over .105 watts a gh It still fails to do 16th at 1480 watts.
It does do 14.5 th at 1300 watts that is better then the s-9 does. If you want 14.5th at 1300 watts buy this gear. You will be stuck at four pool choices
But that pool ops are casusing this. Not the gear.
Hidden asic boost will be killed off taking away a bitmain edge that they don’t share with the common miner.

So I can simply tell you to fuck off but I won’t as I like fighting with you on this thread.
As I know I would not have said the t1 is a little better then the s-9 if I thought it was not.
i think ur forgettin a few things here....bitmains s9 is able to do covert ANDDDDDD overt. this means it can turn on asicboost via a firmware change right now blowin the halong miner away. most of all it can switch back to no asicboost and still run which is somethin the t1 cant do. that is a huge diff. y do u keep ignorin these facts and stickin to this pool angle?? y u that close minded?? i remember asking about the price u got and if u thought it was fair but like i said u keep ignoring all of my points and continue repeating the same thing about pools can turn this and that on. sha256 is not the same as sha256 requiring asicboost. this miner is being compared to the s9 but its not even on the same lvl as the s9. u know this is true. ur wallet....well thats a diff story. speaking of wallets where is that transaction info showing u paid for the miners. u demanded that i remove the comments about free miners yet i have 0 proof that u paid. we have 100% proof that u didnt mainly because u urself admitted that u didnt pay a dime for them. step up and defend ur claims buddy. a trusted member who isnt influenced by money and or the prospects of free stuff and provided an unbiased "review" shouldnt have ne issues standing behind the claims they make right?? idc what bitmain is tryin to do with other miners. right now im focused on the s9 and the t1 and ur promotion of a miner/white washin of pretty major flaws with the machines. let me ask this very basic question.... if asicboost was killed by a change to bitcoin and all other sha256 coins would this miner still be usable ANDDDDDD if the same thing happened would the s9 still be usable?? you finally posted the real problem bitmain can turn it on and off not you or me. and bitmain might force all asicboost to die off just to fuck the dragonmint t1 lets not kid ourselves as to how much power bitmain has in the sha 256 coin. this miner the t1 directly attacks the bitmain stranglehold on asic boost plain and simple no more and no less. This is why I am for the miner because bitmain could do huge covert asicboost mining at hashnest with zero checks and balances. I don't dislike bitmain I have and continue to purchase from bitmain. But They don't need to hold a stranglehold on asic boost and not they no longer hold the strangle hold. And of course as you say if bitmian muscles a full and complete block of asic boost the t1 gets bricked. yes it does. which knowing bitmain they would if they could. Personally I like that the t1 popped the strangle hold on asicboost. and if 1 more big pool such as f2pool or viabtc would adapt it it would make the t1 a more effective way to lessen the edge bitmain has with hashnest and asicboost tech. If bitmain does not practice asicboost on hashnest now fine but if they do there is zero way to check. WHICH IS FAR BIGGER ISSUE THEN THIS THREAD AND THE T1 which as of today is the only miner trying to stop or lessen bitmain and the asicboost edge they can be using. Which is why I don't mind fighting on this thread with you since I will continue to support the T1 since I see it as a viable choice mostly due to -ck's continued firmware developments. Show me where bitmain has a watts per gh under clock with a heat throttle protection official firmware that will work on the few s-9s I have left. the T1 does. If my 13.5th at 1375 watts s-9 could do 12.5 th and 1150 watts and have a throttle option firmware . Needs to be official firmware. I would say it is slightly better then the T1. I am flexible as I let the gear show me what it can do. the bottom line is every sha coin can allow this to mine and every sha pool can allow this to mine. and at 14.5 th pulling 1300 watts it is better then a S-9 since s-9 does not do 14.5th and 1300 watts. did it do spec of 16.0th and 1480 watts for no and I never said it did. Once again Is it 30% better then a s-9 no and I never said it was. I said it is slightly better once -ck did some firmware. I will stand by that claim. Do I think the T2 is better well that belongs on a different thread. Moderator's note: This post was edited by frodocooper to remove a nested quote.

Everything and absolut YES. I am not able to write it like that in english, but its perfect. I still buy at bitmain and they dont su.. like some are saying. But a counterweight in the market of sha256 is fine. The machine (T1) itself is better then a S9, but we dont have to discuss the business calculation if I buy a machine 4-5 month ahead. You better can take the S9, get it in 1 month and make 3 month profit already. The ROI is not lying :/ Anyways I am 100% with your oppinion and we, the users of the networks, who are trying to change the financial system with the blockchain are now in charge of making it good. "With great power comes great responsibility." --- but true. We want to replace the bank, who had the full profits and the responsibility (at least in front of the stock holders). No we make the profit, together as swarm, so we should care for our own house and dont sh*t in it. Decentralization is maybe not a part of the miner location, only. But for the used machines, too. I still say there is Avalon (Canaan) and I hope they will improve the machines (no more controll box) or lower the price soon. i agree comp is the best thing for customers and the mining industry in general and would never ever say bitmain doesnt own too much/have machines that mine the majority of all the blocks out there. that would be silly and it would kinda prove im a moron. What i DO NOT like is the fact that people r promoting this company. I dont dislike the company randomly because im havin a bad day or just want to be an internet troll. I dislike companies that lie and cheat customers so they can get a foot in the door or recoup the money they invested doin things. in no way is that acceptable. In my mind its "all or nothin". im all for giving another chance to them as well but only if they make the current/former customers whole. making changes to the way they carry themselves in the future is a great start but ultimately to not be shit on in threads by folks like me they need to refund their buyers to make up for the mixup. and by refund i dont mean a full refund with free hardware...im sure u understood that but others might see that as "full refunddddddd" so im makin that clear now. because the company has lied and cheated their customers nothing positive should ever be posted about them until they resolve these issues. another ding is the fact that they didnt make this miner. it fully explains their shady wording about 30 million dollars being invested into miner production without actually saying they invested it. All of these things bring the companies rep into a neg territory. If asicboost were to go away right now every t1 and im pretty sure t2 would die. maybe future chips wont do this but as of right now they require specific stuff to happen that others like the s9 dont require. This is wrong!! If they were in the us they can and would be sued immediately. we need US/US allied countries producing miners. having another chinese made miner doesnt go far to help the community because they cant be touched as easily as they can be in the us. sure us companies have fucked up but the govt can step in as well which wont happen with all these chinese makers. US resellers do us 0 good so i wont even count them in this part lol. as for the s9 and asicboost...thats not entirely true. I posted in this very thread about a user detailing the instructions and commands needed to run asicboost on an s9 using the stock firmware. Have i tried it?? no....because i have been busy with some other stuff like repairing equipment that was sent into me the past few weeks. Do i think its worth trying? for sure i do!!!! is that somethin u could check out as well?? i honestly think thats a good idea since ur willin to test these things and u cant damage the s9 by trying this so y not look into it urself?? if u have hours to spend refreshin the miner pages of the t1 to check the efficiency its safe to assume u have a few mins to try the stuff bip mentioned. If it works it will allow s9's to hash faster and it will be able to be turned off at ne time. as for the official firmware....i havethe official firmware from bitmain that allows for freq changin and full fan control (the control that computergenie or whatever his username is said is impossible to manage manually) and i use it daily on auto tunes s9's and non autotuned s9's. i run my fans at 80% and they run 10+ degrees cooler and even more in later generation s9's. My point here is bitmain can and will do things for customers. They arent out to get us. they arent out to let people have somethin for nothin either but every machine they have promised has mined within spec. also to be very open....i lied...i did receive a free machine from them but not as a test. back when the s5 came out i ordered a batch of them and they came with that tell tale fine black dust that can only be removed with a rag all over them....basically meaning they sent me a well worn miner. I however paid for a batch of brand new miners not used ones and i believe most were new and perfectly clean but some were run hard and had warped side pannels. the resolution offered was to send the miners back for a refund and no shipping back to them or have 1 free s5 sent to cover the cost of my time taking the s5's apart to wash the heatsinks. I chose to go with the 1 free miner. Sure its not the same situation as getting free stuff since i technically paid for all of those miners that werent brand new but for the sake of openess i feel i should mention that. so i have no financial gain by hating on one company or the other...thats the gist of this part lol. i have mentioned it a couple of times now but what about the payment transaction info for ur payment?? it shouldnt be a problem sharing it right?? That would validate ur claim of payment but it would still leave the door open to the issue of u getting special pricing for a last minute purchase when folks that paid during the sale and after had their money tied up for many months not to mention the steep premiums they paid. It would be nearly is impossible for Bitmain to get info in March, and get new ASIC through foundry with hardware changes needed to do AB and ship in 3 months.

Here's a question for you Mr. Nutz....hopefully it will help you see that ASICBOOST on a S9 isn't reality.....Hypothetically, let's say that there really is ASICBOOST built into the Hardware of the S9 chip. Credited knowledge about how to implement is prevalent as you say on the web. Are you telling me that not one person has gone and tried this? And lets say that one person tried this, do you think that they wouldn't tell someone? Okay, so maybe there is one person that tried it and succeeded, but decided to keep mum about his 20% boost over EVERYONE else in the network. Sure, that would be a smart move. But now lets say that there is more than one person that read what you read, tried it, and succeeded. Do you think that person is going to keep mum? Okay, lets say he does. But, how many people do you think it takes before someone says something and shows proof of it running AB? I'd venture to guess not that many....
Now, lets look at the other option....lets say that there is good information on how to turn on AB in S9, but nobody has actually tried it. Long shot, but lets just say that thousands of people have read the info, but not a single one has tried and succeeded....okay, now here comes along Peanutz.....he finally gets some time away from his booming hardware repair business to break out his terminal and bang away at the keys. Low and behold, a few copy and pastes, and wah lah....Bob's your uncle! He flops his nutz on the table and claims victory all across btctalkland!!!
Come on man. Does any of the only two possible scenarios sound reasonable to you? I know you are young as evidenced by lack of ability in spelling, but you have to look at the big picture, all the details, and look at whats likely; because 99.9% of the time, that is what is reality.
I honestly cannot say that AB is or isn't available on S9. Nobody but bitmain knows, or someone that has xray'd the chip. That being said, if you look at all of the evidence and possibilities out there, it just does not seem plausible......
If I were you, I would slow down, think about what you are writing. Use proper punctuation; and please, for the fucking love of BTC, write out your words using all of the letters as in the dictionary. If you continue to write like T9 text on a phone, by the time you have kids (help us all), your family will be speaking and writing in two letter words.... xu so we id op ux sw qi od ob.....
Here is one last tidbit of info to ponder.....AB whitepaper was release in March 2016. Batch 1 S9 starting shipping June. It would be nearly impossible for Bitmain to get info in March, and get new ASIC through foundry with hardware changes needed to do AB and ship in 3 months. If they had already figured out how to do it prior to Timo Hanke, then basis of patent would be void to begin with because it would have already been discovered and done. And when BDPL was announced, Bitmain could come out and say they knew how to do this all along, and implement then with f/w change. None of which has happened.....
look online. People over on peercoin forums noticed someone using asicboost to mine....turned out to be s9 miners running on a private pool with a firmware that enabled it. Check reddit where the person that brought it up said he is using it personally on his miners as well. so in short before u call me out and get high and mighty actin like a douche be sure to look and see what others have said. the s9 hardware is able to do COVERT and OVERT asicboost. This has been confirmed by multiple people and also by bitmain directly. if u had searched before replyin i wouldnt have to waste time responding to just u....or maybe 2112 will chime in about his post from april 4th 2018?? the info is out there big guy. also where did i say i was a software guy?? if i had the skill and tools to do what is required dont u think i would do it and would happily prove u right or wrong?? didnt u stop and wonder y i keep saying "others" or "people on forums" or even "bitmain" and not "I"?? is this really that hard to understand. if u had a phone with t9 u would know y words get shortened. Years and years of doin it has made it a habit. accept it or dont but dont judge someone because ur too young or too ignorant to know that txt messages used to have a 160 char limit so in those days every letter mattered not to mention it takin longer to enter a full word using the keypad. membahh kid...phone didnt always have a screen as the entire face. we didnt used to touch shit to type. open ur mind a bit and think about how this used to be not how they r now. mkay?? as for whitepapers let me ask u this...since we r talkin about this hypothetical situation kinda tone....when a paper is written is it written and released on the same day?? do they come from ideas that are collectively discussed in many many ways including in person and online?? so since its safe to assume the whitepaper wasnt thought of and written on the same day would u happen to know when the idea was first discussed?? and if uk that can u tell me also who it was talked about with and where at?? again dont jump into a convo ur not a part of and tell me im wrong but in the same message claim that udk if its true one way or another. just take the time to look and read the discussions about this stuff. if u cant be bothered to do that dont waste peoples time by writing replies. as for others using it on an antminer s9 and making it publicly known....uk what happened when people created custom s9 firmware right?? they used cgminer and added tons of features to multiple bitmain miners and folks shut the project down. this has happened to 3 people if im remembering correctly. they started throwin legal stuff out there even though the firmware was benefiting the community as a whole. instead of working through the issues while keeping it alive they wanted to act first and discuss it later unfortunately. Thats y u dont see custom firmware for the s9. thanks also still waitin for phil to respond about payment tx info to confirm that his payment was actually made. he has ignored that part in all of his replies even when i made it easier to see so i know he has seen it. he wants me to remove my comments but he wont give the proof to back his claim that he didnt get free shit up. I recently saw on Twitter, that Halongmining will be releasing, and accepting pre-orders on a new version of this miner. Same stuff, different footprint, with built-in psu. How many people are STILL waiting for original Dragonmint's they ordered??? Looks like the go-fund-me money is getting low.
A well Respected member, had to take the initiative to get more pool options for Halongmining's customers, yet no publicity from Halongmining's advertising campaign. Not even for the guy who wrote the damn firmware, and is continuing work on updating it.
For some reason, I'm not compelled to give my business to Halongmining. Where's the incentive??? I get to choose from multiple Firmware releases, to try to get the Dragonmint to run as Advertised??? Then if it doesn't, I can wait to see if a future one will work correctly.
Can't wait to hear about the longevity of these miners, it's next on the to don't list.

That is, before, disgruntled buyers create their own out of spite. For the part of offering consumers, an option for support, good job!!! Though I am not a buyer, yet, this is a step in a positive direction.
