And why at such high rates?
I can't picture myself ever taking out a bitcoin loan, at least not until it's a household currency. Am I missing something?
I don't think "I have income denominated in bitcoin" is a very good answer, either.

If sufficient people believe something retarded it's a religion. Except if it's all children then it is Santa That's another meaningless definition, and it isn't even accurate. Consider Buddhism. It's considered by most to be a "religion," yet Buddhism differs in many ways from Abrahamic religions. Many Buddhists would argue that they don't have retarded beliefs, and that they only ascribe to a certain mindset and way of life. And I would agree with them.

I keep hearing that atheism is a religion. That means that the people that say as such also thinks theism is a religion.
Really, I think atheism is a subset of religions, the non-theistic ones. I also think it is possible to be an atheist or a theist and have no religion. Hence why I say religions are bad, yet theism is not.
Religion is an arbitrarily assigned title. It is not a very meaningful word.

Blockchain.info: Status: Ok (1012 Nodes Connected) A few days ago were only 400 Nodes Connected And how does it impact the price of BTC from your point of view? More people using Bitcoin, more trades/exchanges... No, I believe the number of bitcoin nodes has been on a steady decline for some time now. Alt-clients offer more convenience for casual users, and they have been getting increasingly better. The sudden spike is likely due people wanting to tinker with the new release. Could be wrong though.

It's kind of hard to understand if you haven't experienced the psychology. On one level, you know it's a scam but think that you'll be able to get out on time or withdraw your principle and only lose interest. But on another level, you manage to convince yourself that maybe it's the real deal and you are in on the secret to amazing wealth.

I use google news search. It's been working well for me.
This forum is also a great place. Julz is all over that.

Mosrite is micon sockpuppet.
Evident since day 1.

I would listen to Monster Ant. He has provided a lot of helpful foresight to some of the obstacles you might face. I was very surprised at your reaction to his first post. I think maybe you should be grateful for such thorough input. His posts are much more substance than troll.
Just my 2 cents dank. I think you may be onto something with this idea.

BurtW is an honest businessman, having dealt with him personally.
That's all I have to say.

Betting is irresponsible, regardless. I'm embarassed to have taken part in Matthew's bet (not because of Matthew, and not because I was certain pirate wouldn't pay out, but simply because betting is foolish).

I respect what Micon is trying to do and I do know that he means what he says. But I think he is wrong on this one.
There are a couple different views you could have about this situation 1. Patrick was running a ponzi that is collapsing 2. Patrick is no longer solvent because his debtors have defaulted (and is suffering a bank run) 3. Patrick is solvent but is suffering a bank run
I highly doubt that case 1 is true... Why send out (large) partial repayments this far into the "bank run"?
Time will tell whether 2 or 3 is the case, but I suspect that all of the principle will be returned.
If case 3 is true, then Patrick is lying. Which of course I don't think is the case. It's no. 2 (going by what he has said).

What's with all these ideas about rules? That's a terrible rule on so many levels.
But I agree with the bit about escrow. That goes for IRL too.

its all sketchy...you just have to find the least skechiest and deal with them...
+1 lol. So true... But once you have them, you have them for good (given proper security measures). Believe me, it's worth the hassle.

This is the question we all secretly want to ask. (who ignores me)
