221  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: March 26, 2024, 10:02:04 PM
Trading and gambling are two different thing but both are channeled to making fast money, the reason why investing will never be compared to both is just because investing has to do with holding. I have heard similar saying like this and people emphasize more on the luck involved in gambling but I totally disagree, gambling has nothing to do with luck even if people earn by chance it depends on how he/she placed their bet. Trading at the other hand has to do with serious learning process and without the knowledge there's no  success, the features of trading is more complex compared to gambling.

trade will remain trade. and gambling will remain gambling. that's something different. I don't know why you think gambling is not the result of luck. do you study gambling? do you analyze gambling?
You have to know why gambling depends on luck. that's because the odds of your bet are 50:50. the result is the possibility of you winning or losing. When you bet, you do not have any control over the bet you have made.
That seems right but for those traders who have lack of knowledge and experience, their journey is just like seeking luck and more chances of losing than earning. However, this won't change anything because trading can be learned and we can improve our chances unlike gambling as we still rely upon luck rather than our skills and experience.
Those who think that trading is like gambling are those people who are not even doing trading at all. And if we are a gambler, we can also say that gambling is not like trading as we can just bet based on our personal judgment, and if we are too lucky we win.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 24, 2024, 01:41:38 PM
I understand that you were touched by his story and so you offered to lend him money but that was a wrong decision. He is an addicted gambler and that is why none of his close friends offered to help him. Who knows that might be a recurring action and his friends are already fed up but his constant problem gambling. You would have ignored him since he created his problem by himself. Imagine him suffering for that action, he will learn and be careful next time knowing that nobody will come to his aid if he dares lose all his money so he will apply caution when he gambles.

One of the ways you can help an addicted gambler is to prevent him from having access to money. If an addicted gambler is not given money and is not allowed to borrow or sell properties he will minimize the rate he gambles. The availability of funds to fuel gambling addiction is why an addict continues to gamble.
He offered money for pity action, not with the intent of helping his friend to go back gambling. I believe that if you are really a helping person and if you have money, it is not a surprise for you to give to other people. We never know and from that money, he will change his life and stop gambling. Some people just open their minds when already suffered the consequences of their wrongdoings. Maybe, this is a tool to help his friend go to the right path.

Addicted people need some care and advice. It was not only the money they needed but also, friends, family, and relatives to talk and share their feelings.

224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trades be closed only when the market is bullish? on: March 22, 2024, 08:30:27 PM
A tendency arises among us. When the value of Bitcoin increases a lot, we start trading more. Which puts our trade management in jeopardy, during which most of the time people face loss.

What is your experience in this field?
If you are in trading, you could really notice the difference when trading during the bear season versus the results when trading during the bull season. If you are, I could bet that trading during the time we have now is more profitable and easy unlike in the situation when the price is declining and sometimes we need a few weeks before our sell/buy call will be filled. But in this situation, that is quite easy.

I consider bull season as a good time to enter trading. We can't eliminate the possible losses but as we compared the possibility of making a profit is higher than losing. That is why traders are more active this time than at the time of the market crisis.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 22, 2024, 08:11:05 PM
You won't make fun of gambling when you lose because what is in your mind is to make money from it. But if you think you just playing, whatever the results will satisfy you. Unfortunately, you are gambling for money, not for pleasing and entertaining yourselves which stresses your mind and gets burned when lose. This is normal for the gamblers who assume that they gamble for the win and this is who you are. Of course, you can't appreciate gambling as you already think that gambling never gives you happiness when you lose.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: March 22, 2024, 02:20:43 PM
Hodling is the key. But never resort into hodling for the rest of your investment span, take time to profits as well as its crucial most especially in a highly volatile investment. However, my point is, always set your goal price to sell and stick to it even if bitcoin price has gone quite far than that. There would be no assurance that bitcoin price will stay on that price for long, so learn to take profits at some point so that you won’t be regretting later on wishing you did your part in taking your profits.
That seems necessary as we can't just invest and hold but also, make some money from it. Therefore, it was not just holding but also taking some profit.
Buying, Holding, and Selling --that is simple and this is the way to survive. As I observed, short-term investors make more money compared to long-term holders. Smart people will never just wait and lose great opportunities but instead, they will take every chance they have.
 - they buy Bitcoin at a cheaper price sell at a higher price, and repeat the process.

So I would say and I agree with you --holding is not a lifetime, we should also consider selling.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 01:10:48 PM
Investing in Bitcoin is not a wrong decision whatever the condition is. We just think and in fact, we have observed that the Bitcoin price is continuously growing which only means one thing, it will pump more in the coming years.
No one can guarantee that the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase in the future. Along the way, many factors can influence the price of Bitcoin in the future. Before investing in Bitcoin, we must do our own research, consider the investment risks, and analyze the market as best as possible in order to make a wise decision.
Indeed, we don't but just take a look 10 years ago when people had the same appreciation about Bitcoin, most of them are in regret and now blaming themselves for why they didn't invest while it was $1, $100, and $1,000.

We don't need to do further research, we already see it based on its market history, and that even tells us something. Bitcoin is a growing investment, nothing else. There is no assurance but should we consider this as a factor for not investing? Investing in Bitcoin is an opportunity and we take this while still there. We don't need to wait for another decade and start thinking about it but rather do it now.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: March 22, 2024, 12:21:02 PM
Generally, addiction never gives us positive results but disastrous losses. Addiction can influence your thinking and behaviors which is usually a reason why we can no longer think of the right thing to do instead, most of the wrong decisions.

Gambling sites always remind us gamblers to gamble moderately they want us to become responsible despite the fact that they want to have more gamblers. Unfortunately, addiction still exists in gambling due to losing control of emotions which anyone could experience.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: March 22, 2024, 05:48:09 AM
The only way I know at this point one can make money in the crypto space with testnet airdrops, but it's not only the normal airdrops that we all know but this time it seems to be of a stake to earn airdrops you have to put some money to increase your chance of earning.

For me I wouldnt try NFTs because the problem I'm having in altcoins is already enough, so I wouldn't include NFTs to the problem. Non fungiable toke s are only nice when it was on the trend but now you can easy get rubbed of your money through fake NFT tokwns. Play to Earn, used to be good to but not now anymore it's even harder than to find a good paying game or they offer you there game tokens which can not be sold hence that could be a waste of time.
NFT projects are done already, their time is over, and much more in joining airdrops.
For now, meme coins are still consistently in the hype which really gives profits to the risk-takers. It is really a good venture to choose old projects, even if it was not that hyped like meme coins still, we can assure profit during the bull season.

As the market behavior has changed, we also become adaptable to the situation and act wisely. Still, we need research and market analysis before investing because this is the only way it helps to determine if that project is worth buying or not.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 21, 2024, 09:58:56 PM
They won't touch us if they ever see any suspicious acts but if there is, an investigation is done just to prove that you did nothing and fairly play and win the jackpot price. But I understand why because they also have cheat experiences in the past making them now more careful and dealing with such events. It was not a nightmare for us unless they did this for misinterpretation and misinformation, that is actually a terrible thing that happened. Some gamblers claimed that it happened to them. Honestly, I couldn't really imagine how it felt when it happened to me. Of course, it ruins our image/reputation especially when a lot of people know it.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops are getting easier to get this year on: March 21, 2024, 09:30:19 PM
Well, I'm not sure how reliable it was as I checked my wallet, and I've found nothing (airdrop token). Maybe some users have received but the question if ever we have this, how can make use of it - can we sell them or not? I have the feeling that this is just a trick to encourage people to use their platform. In fact, some exchanges are doing this already in the past but unfortunately, we can never sell them because nobody is actually buying these tokens. It will just stuck on our wallet and it was quite annoying to see. Unless we can benefit from this, that seems encouraging to the people.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 21, 2024, 12:38:07 PM
They choose to be a part of a farm team I guess  they don't want to waste  money and instead  they are using their participation to free for something that benefits their business,  while also gaining something from the higher franchise,  as we know how the management works and how the league governors and commissioner are working alongside to make it legal.

There's nothing fans can do to push the league to bring back those old glory they will just go with the flow and accept anything that will be offer and keep it the way it is now.

They are in the PBA to advertise their company, but PBA is not getting a good feedback from the people, so I don't think it will work. But as they say, good or bad publicity, it still is a publicity, so maybe it will work. However, for a real fan like us, we like to see this old league to grow and be competitive, but it will not happen if monopoly within is very strong, they need to eliminate that and that will only happen if they'll add more teams and eliminate the farm teams.

PBA has the worst fan based that makes it not profitable anymore for new team especially small to gain attention on this league. If your team is not Ginebra definitely you are just wasting money on this league. Most of the Filipino preferred the known team such as Ginebra and SMB while the rest is just another brand. Unlike on NBA, they have the support per state that’s why there’s a loyal fan base created based on the team location.

PBA has no future if they keep doing the same pattern like before because only big brand like San Miguel and MVP are the only companies benefiting on it. MPBL should gain more support and better to have the name of PBA because it’s the league that has a balance fan base. This Ginebra and other companies should just sponsors MPBL team and create the real PBA.

I think even SMB are wasting money also due to the expenses they are paying for the venue and the players.

See how much they are spending for the team, and I'm not sure they are really getting the returns expected.

Quote
SAN Miguel Corp. head Ramon S. Ang revealed the conglomerate spends P1 billion annually for its three PBA teams San Miguel Beer, Magnolia, and Barangay Ginebra.

In a wide-ranging interview with veteran journalist Anthony Taberna, Ang admitted it was the high cost of running the three ballclubs that prompted him to recommend ceasing the company's basketball operations more than once, the last time during the pandemic.

234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you this the current correction was local bottom price for alts? on: March 21, 2024, 10:08:15 AM
As we have encountered a significant dump in the crypto market, do you think it was a local bottom for altcoin as well? Today seems the market pumped again, and alts seem to be getting back to their price range. Do you think we will see another bottom for altcoin again this year? I feel this was the last chance to accumulate altcoins, and anytime would fly major altcoins like Ethereum and others. We might not see that bottom again unless the whole market crashes back. So what's your thoughts about the last pullback? Have you accumulated something?
Uncertain -- in fact, most of us never think of a sudden drop happening in the past few days. This is why we can't assure and live with confidence that there is a continuous pump instead, anticipate a possible pullback. Despite the bullish condition of the market, we're still expecting possible dumps anytime and we keep experiencing this event. Of course, the faith in these known and old coins like ETH has not changed and the chances for another high run are possible rather than expecting another bottom.
Keep holding, that is the best thing we can do in this unpredictable trend. The new ATH hasn't yet reached, I guess we need to stay strong and ignore the dumps.

235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Marketing Strategies for New Casinos? on: March 21, 2024, 09:23:50 AM
 - attractive bonuses
 - transaction fee
 - instant confirmation
there's a lot more that it focuses on attracting gamblers. Some even hire social media influencers to promote their service and quite I see it was very effective this time as we are in the digital era where the majority are on the internet.

But smart gambler takes the bait, they still consider choosing gambling platforms that are secured and can be trusted. Reputation really matters the most which is somewhat difficult for the new build casinos.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 20, 2024, 09:30:29 PM
Investing in Bitcoin is not a wrong decision whatever the condition is. We just think and in fact, we have observed that the Bitcoin price is continuously growing which only means one thing, it will pump more in the coming years.

However, a good investment plan should be practiced and started in a good position in the market. I think the accumulation should be done during a market correction, not the bull season. In fact, that is a part of market analysis, and why I say it is a good idea to do this during the bear season because as we can see, a lot of people have invested now but they sell during price corrections due to FOMO.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 20, 2024, 02:17:59 PM
I haven't seen anything about Jake Paul cancelling the fight.  Quite the opposite.  It seems like they're both promoting the fight and Jake's last post on the subject was him confirming that he does still want a piece of Mike Tyson.  On the other hand, there has been some talk about Mike having some serious health problems going into this fight.  His trainer has gone on a PR campaign downplaying Tyson's issues, but it seems to me like where there's smoke there's fire and Tyson is probably taking this fight because he needs/wants the payday for his family.  He is risking his health by doing so.  I hope he ends it fast...
Yes, we have not seen anything, and if this is cancelled then it might be the worst decision for Jake Paul. Everything has been set already, his company together with Netflix and Mike Tyson seemingly motivated and training hard base on videos we have seen. Most likely Tyson will get the money that he is getting during his prime, millions in dollars and good for his retirement and for his family and that's why he accepted this fight. And I think he is given a clean bill of health by doctors as well that's why the fight is going to happen even if he is already 58 years old in this fight.
Fake news doesn't destroy this upcoming match. If that is true it would be easy for Jake Paul to make a tweet or announce it in his youtube channel the reason why the fight is cancelled. But now it's silent, that means it's still gonna happen and maybe these two boxers have started training already even if the fight is still far.

July 20, that's 4 months from now. A lot of things could happen and more hype to be made, so it's a good ample time for them to focus on their marketing to make more people interested to it, and the fact that it's Netflix are gonna cover, they should have not problem with the viewers as they could easily get millions of eyes willing to watch this.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 20, 2024, 01:17:36 PM

If they've got AD as healthy as possible the chance of making it to the playoffs is still possible but if they will be playing in the play-in without a healthy AD the chance might be slim especially if they'll going to compete against the Warriors, both are still holding for the last possible spot for the upcoming next round and only one can push their way up.

The days are for LeBron is really nearing he's aging and even he can still paly outstanding game he's capability to lift his team is not the same, the level of competitions are high, just good for the fans that he still got something to showcase and give entertainment for those who continue supporting him.

That's for sure, I have no doubt about that. Lebron alone could not carry this team,  but with AD, they'll be a good playoff contender and I put a little chance for them getting into the Finals again. AD's experience in the playoffs and since he already won a championship with the Lakers, it's easy to tell that without him it's really a big problem for the struggling LA Clippers.

Let us not forget that Lebron is not getting any younger, although he can still get 20+ points easily but the impact on the team compared to when he was still young and very dominant is just not that big anymore. So to conclude, without AD, Lakers are done.

We all see how bad they are when AD is out so maybe they should find a good solution unto this issue since they know AD is injury prone and anytime he will not available to play especially on crucial games and it will be bad if they can't find any good adjustment made in this situation.

Maybe they need other player to step up since they have good talents reserve. They should not focus the play on Lebron since he's not getting any younger anymore as said so they need to give confident to their young player to play more better since for sure this will be the key for their success. Maybe they need proper plays or good rotation so that they can make their roster work together and contribute good numbers without relying to much on Lebron and AD.

There's nothing they can do here, not at the very short period of time going to the play-in tournament which I think is their best chances based on the current standing. They can make a strategy but the current roster of the Lakers are not good enough to compete against a championship team or a proven playoffs teams. I don't want to underestimate them, but we can do the simple math here, this Lakers signed AD and won a championship, now AD is injured, that could easily mean championship hopes are gone too.
239  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New trader's must remember it. on: March 20, 2024, 08:39:10 AM
Well, the fun thing is that we all commit mistakes before we realize that we are wrong. Meaning, we lose first before we earn and succeed.
That is no wonder why not all traders become successful due to wrong trading behavior and practices. All these things OP are not just for new traders but for the general and I was sure that even old traders are still in some of these wrong practices.

After all, the future of our trading career lies in our hands as we can't blame the market volatility nor do we have a lack of knowledge because all the information and trading tools are available already. But what most traders do is against the proper way of trading.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: March 19, 2024, 10:02:25 PM
It already happens and it will spread across the globe in the coming years. But how long? That is totally uncertain for now but at least some countries like El Salvador have shown it is strong and keeping their faith in it.

Maybe if the price of Bitcoin dropped like 10 years ago, I'm sure people are not in the focus of considering this as an investment but can be accumulated for other purposes as payment. But as the status of today, we can really see that people are investing and holding their Bitcoin for profit. This means that they solely consider this an investment, not from thinking they use it to buy things or pay bills.
