221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's your take of NFTs? on: April 21, 2022, 11:06:33 AM
What's your take of NFTs?

Do you think are a long term solution/investment or just hype??
I think they really have potential as
1) Digital collectibles (similar to old fashioned card collections of for instance football players)
2) in gaming as for instance unique & tradeable items
3) maybe as copyright protection in the future? (like proof of ownership for photographers)

The problems that I currently see is that for many it is not entirely clear what exactly the NFT is. Often it is just a URL stored on a blockchain. But what are the legal implications? What happens if the URL disappears? What happens if the underlying blockchain is hacked? Until those problems are not solved I would not use them as a store of value.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 21, 2022, 06:46:11 AM
Indeed Manchester City and Liverpool are still competing for the title this season, and in my prediction this will last until the last game in the Premier League.
They both have fairly easy games left and on paper should able to win all of them. Of course, Manchester City has one more point currently and the advantage. Odds are Manchester City @1.44 and Liverpool @2.70, so bookmakers give about 70% chance to Manchester City at this point. Liverpool can only try to gather all remaining points and hope for Manchester City to make a mistake.

It is clearly stated that Soccer is a sport in which the team contribution is a must to win. Ronaldo is playing for Portugal and hasn't won a world cup for the country. In every tournament he have been doing the best of his ability even at situations of injury. So, there is nothing to get ashamed. This time the team seems to be in better position than the past, because this seems to be his last chance to win World Cup for his country. I believe he'll strengthen himself after the bad news of his son's death which too a mental stress for him.
I don't think tha Portugal is stronger than in last years. Yes, it is Ronaldo's last World Cup (probably), but this alone will not be enough for them to win it. You could argue equally for Argentina/Messi. Messi is in a similar situation, both haven't won the World Cup (but at least the equivalent on their continents) and for both it is likely the last World Cup this year. But the competition is strong, for Portugal or Argentina to even reach the semi-final they will have to beat other strong teams such as France or Brazil which is pretty unlikely.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 21, 2022, 04:54:56 AM
Looks like that Union Berlin was really unlucky yesterday against Leipzig to get into the DFB Final.
They got a lot of missed chances to score more goals or even one more and then got the lucky punch in the 93 minute.
So i really hope that Freiburg will win the final but also Leipzig deserv to win the coming game.
Leipzig really has a run these days/weeks (or even months). They are very difficult to beat currently and even have the luck in the right moment as Union Berlin got to experience yesterday. I don't have any preferences for the final game (Freiburg vs Leipzig), but I hope that Leipzig will win at least one of the two possible trophies (DFB Cup or Euro League) to reward themselves for their excellent 2nd part of the season.

"Age of Gods" werde ich auch mitmachen, der Einsatz/Risiko sind überschaubar, allerdings denke ich nicht, dass es so extrem wie STEPN wird...
So extrem wird es nicht werden, aber es gibt zumindest Nachfrage. Aktuell knapp 5x überzeichnet, das heißt mit 5 Tickets kann man froh sein wenn man 1 NFT bekommt...
(Trotzdem ist das Ticket-System um Welten besser als first-come-first-served  Smiley)
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 20, 2022, 09:30:02 AM
Hamburg still has a chance to be promoted to the 1. Bundesliga and of course the semi-final is a great success for the club.  But I think the game would have taken a different course if Freiburg hadn't scored two goals so quickly. Hamburg played at home. The stadium was sold out. But the goals were mainly scored by Freiburg.
The decisive thing was the penalty kick, which was very strange.
Of course the game can take a completely different course, but it happened the way it did. It was practically impossible for Hamburg to keep up after 2 goals (and after the penalty with 3 goals) disadvantage. Unfortunate for Hamburg and also not good for the game itself which could have been way more entertaining with a closer result. Congrats to Freiburg though, they are on their way for the most successful year in their history with a good standing in the Bundesliga and the cup final for the first time ever.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 20, 2022, 06:26:37 AM
Liverpool v Manchester United is it a big match? Because I think it's just a normal match for the favorite team to play against a mediocre team. There is no strong resistance the away team can put up and if they are a big team then to be honest, they have a lot of issues that need to be resolved soon. If the current coach is no longer able to do his best, then why keep it because after all, Manchester United is out of the European zone and this makes Manchester United no longer need a coach who can no longer be expected.
Well, it was the 2nd vs the 6th in the current ranking, which is not so bad by itself. Then of course Manchester United has a big name and a big past, even if they are not playing at their best at the moment. Of course Liverpool was the clear favorite from the start and the result of 4-0 does confirm that. Manchester United doesn't look good for the qualification for the European Cups for the next year indeed...

Hamburger SV vs Freiburg
quotes are 3.0/3.3/2.35
Hamburg plays in the 2nd league, imho Freiburg is a huge favorite here, even though Hamburg plays at home. Odds of 2.35 are tempting to place a bet on them!
We are still in the first half and Freiburg is ahead 3-0. I think this game is already over and decided. Hamburg has to be careful that it won't get too embarrasing. Hamburg had a good run in the cup, but it just can't keep up with a good team from one league above. Freiburg will play the final against Leipzig or Union Berlin, this will be for sure a more exciting game with teams on a similar level Smiley

On paper this should be easy for Leipzig, but in a late stage of the tournament you never know if the nerves are on your side Wink
Union can be a difficult opponent and they play a successful season. This might get closer than the odds appear.

231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 19, 2022, 07:58:26 AM
Currently, it's guaranteed they will reach into last eight but after this what happened to them, it's not easy to predict on his day any team can create upset and win match because we are now in last eight which is surely best from all around the world. With this all I am feeling this time we are going to have again team from Europe as Champions of the world because they are currently in better shape instead of South America which is surely the biggest rivalry for them in this event.
It's impossible to predict what happens in the quarter final stage or later. This largely depends on how the tournament went so far and on the dynamics of the games themselves.
I think it is not always an advantage to have an "easy" path into a later stage of a tournament. Teams that easily fly through the group stage with 3 wins and maybe also an easy round of 16 often get too confident and are eliminated as soon as they have to face an equally strong team.

Klingt zumindest interessant.  Wink
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: April 18, 2022, 03:50:56 PM
Looking at the odds today it looks like RB Leipzig is the clear favourite to win the Europa League this year. Not sure if I would place my money on only 2.1 for RB Leipzig to be the champion. Don't get me wrong, they have a strong team and played well this season, but both West Ham United and Eintrach Frankfurt are playing really well this season too. The both faced some hard opponents to reach semi finals and should be strongly motivated to reach the finalls. RB Leipzig definitely has the weaker opponent with Rangers, it seems almost guaranteed that they will reach the finals. As for the second match it will be very interesting. West Ham United seems to be clear the favourite, and so was Barcelona. I wouldn't bet on that match either way. My first bet will be RB Leipzig reaching the finals, and then I will use that money to bet on the winner of Eintrach Frankfurt - West Ham United to win against Leipzig in the finals.
2.1 for Leipzig is not so high indeed. Much can go wrong for them, especially in this stage of the tournament. They have the strongest team to be sure, but we saw in the Frankfurt vs Barcdelona game how long (or short  Cheesy) the strongest team sometimes lasts in the knockout stage. ON the other hand, I don't think Frankfurt would stand a chance again Leipzig in the finals. It somehow is always different when teams from the same country play against each other.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: April 18, 2022, 03:43:04 PM
I'd agree that Portugal shouldn't be amongst the favourites, but are still quite dangerous.
But I'd disagree that England or Germany are likely winners. I am from England, but I think our team is consistently over-rated and is not as good as some of the others. Germany are always a threat, true, but they just don't have the strength that they used to have - they are a bit uninspiring.
Portugal is a team that usually is not amongst the top favorites, but it is a teams that is able to win against top favorites on a good day and should not be underestimated.
I think England has a good shot indeed, they might have their strongest team in years and also played very well in the Euro Cup. It is true that usually they somehow mess it up and get eliminated, but maybe this time's different Wink
Germany on the other hand didn't play well the last years, I don't see them coming very far.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 18, 2022, 03:37:27 PM
If Leverkusen will lose some more points and games in the next weeks its possible that they dont get an Champions League spot.
Glad that Leipzig has won there game against Leverkusen as my bet was for Leipzig.
Congrats on your win!

Leverkusen has now 2 fairly easy games (Fürth, Frankfurt) which it should be able to get at least 4 points. Then the last 2 games are against the direct competition (Hoffenheim, Freiburg). I think Leverkusen will keep the 4th rank until the end, unless the mess up their game against Freiburg in the last week of the season.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: World Cup Groups. on: April 18, 2022, 03:33:31 PM
At the moment, the quotes for which team will become the winner of the group are as follows:

Portugal - 1.65

Uruguay - 3.00

Ghana - 11.90

Republic of Korea - 11.90

As you can see, Ghana is a clear outsider, and Portugal is an indisputable favorite, so, presumably, in a personal meeting, Portugal will easily beat Ghana. And by the way, judging by the manner of the game, it looks like the truth - the Portuguese team will be extremely inconvenient for Ghana.
I am a bit surprised that Korea is considered on the same level with Ghana. Korea's FIFA rank is 39, Ghana's is 60. I would actually have thought Ghana is stronger though. But I suppose the FIFA ranks are a bit skewed between different continents?
Both, Ghana and Korea will have a difficult time in that group. They mustn't lose to the stronger teams if they want to stand a chance for qualification
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - 2nd Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 18, 2022, 03:28:21 PM
Here the odds of the top games next week:
St.Pauli vs Darmstadt 2.6/3.5/2.6 - completely open game. Both teams were struggling a bit recently, a draw helps neither of them to reach the safe 2nd rank. I think St.Pauli will win or we'll see a draw.
Schalke 04 vs Werder Bremen 2.55/3.4/2.65 - also completely open. I think we'll see a draw here. If Schalke wins then they are pretty much through.
Nürnberg vs Sandhausen 1.8/3.8/4.2 - Nürnberg the clear favorite, but Sandhausen has been playing well against stronger teams recently. I think Nürnberg will keep its momentum and win this game.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - 2nd Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2022, 03:04:28 PM
Well those are my favorite teams, I really like what Schalke is doing, also the way St Pauli is playing, they play with a lot of grit, with need and Darmstadt without a doubt the best for me, although we can all say that they are games that seem to give these teams no problems, we have to wait and see how it continues to develop, there is little left, but the exciting thing about all this is that this 2nd Bundesliga has aroused great emotion in many bettors, in fact I have proposed on some platforms that include sports betting for the 2nd Bundesliga and they liked the idea.
This year certainly makes the 2. Bundesliga very appealing. Even though there are only few games left, the outcome is completely open and the race is just as tight (or even tighter) as after 10, 15 or 20 games. I am looking forward to the games this weekend, these are very important for all involved teams. I hope it won't be defending only and trying no to lose, but from the last weeks experience I don't think it will happen Wink
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: April 15, 2022, 03:01:20 PM
Eintracht have maintained the record for not loosing to Spanish opposition since 1960 European cup final against Real Madrid.
Well, to be fair, they haven't had too many chances to play against Spanish teams in official tournaments since then  Cheesy
Impressive win from their side regardless. This game made their entire year, being rather without success in this year's Bundesliga season. Would they qualify for the Europa League again in case they win the title? This could be there only hope playing internationally next year then...
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2022, 02:48:20 PM
I was really shocked to see that Bayern Munich actually did not win in the Champions League. Everyone thought the match is going to be easy for Bayern Munich but it was proved to be otherwise. but I think that is not going to affect them too much when they are playing in Bundesliga and they will eventually end up winning the league title. They have a really good lead and they are not going to just throw that away.
Don't let that happen, Bayern Munich will not focus on the League following their elimination in the Champions League. If that happened it would definitely be a huge loss for them. Now they have no reason not to win the Bundesliga title, as their points are quite far from second place and plus they didn't break their focus on other competitions after the defeat to Villarreal.
They only need 2 more wins to secure the title. The season has pretty much ended already for Bayern, the remaining games in the Bundesliga can be seen as test games for them. They are eliminated from the national cup and now as well from the Champions League. I think they are already planning now for the year to come.
