Even without Ronaldo Portugal is a still a very good team. I know Portugal will qualify for the final. Portugal is one of the team that  always qualify to participate for world cup, don't think Ronaldo is not the only hope for Portugal.

Portugal is still my favorite not only because of Ronaldo only but the team is strong with good players. I am expecting to see portugal in the final stage because I really want to win the world best because he had been working for this for long. I'd agree that Portugal shouldn't be amongst the favourites, but are still quite dangerous.
But I'd disagree that England or Germany are likely winners. I am from England, but I think our team is consistently over-rated and is not as good as some of the others. Germany are always a threat, true, but they just don't have the strength that they used to have - they are a bit uninspiring.

Well, i respect your opinion but i think most of the FIFA audience have high hopes that England and Germany have the impressive odds that included them as the team favorites. Sometimes what we think and see may be different from others, but i guess that happens to all of us. However, i am more certain that Brazil takes the lead and is more advanced than those countries you've said. So maybe that's a plus point for Brazil.

I think every fans have different expectation with their team and depending their opinion have to respect about predicting who will be lead FIFA 2022 world cup. I think have several strong countries and potential will be champion on FIFA 2022 world cup from France, Brazil, Germany, Portugal until Argentina. But I have speculative and looks strong for France to be champion FIFA 2022 world cup with player composition completed from forward until with defender, they have Karim Benzema with impressive performance at Real Madrid beside still have Mbappe and N'Golo Kanté still consistent with Chelsea right now.

Yeah,Portugal have chance to qualify for semi final. Portugal played very well in World Cup Qualifier match.They showed their real performance. Specially Portugal have the world Star player, Ronaldo.Ronaldo is most talented player right now.Ronaldo man who change the game.

Rooting for Portugal as well, though I'm never a Ronaldo fan. Despite his best efforts and dedication to the game, the World Cup remains elusive to him. Lots of good players on his team currently and I don't think there'd be a lot of tough contenders against them in winning the said tourney. He still amazes me as an individual player, and literally became the most recognizable name when someone say football, but it's a shame that despite all the talent, hard work, and passion, he is still yet to get the title.

I'm also not a big fan of Ronaldo but I admit that Ronaldo does have good skills to score against the opponent's goal. With the help of his teammates, I think Ronaldo will continue to try to score goals, although I am also sure that the opposing team will not allow that to happen. Exactly the same thing could be said for Messi and Argentina.
Argentina is also a very good team and Messi also really wants to win the World Cup, similar to Ronaldo.
However, realistically in the competition Brazil, France, England etc., I think that both Ronaldo and Messi will find it very difficult to realize their dreams of the world title.
I agree that these are very dangerous teams that will be a difficult obstacle for the favorites of the competition, but I still do not see them as world champions.

There is nothing to be sad about here, since getting the title of World Champion is a lottery at the stage of a person’s birth - some countries have never been (and apparently will not be) world champions in football due to the fact that this sport is developed in them worse than in other countries ( or they are just too small to produce enough top players). Ronaldo has all the titles achievable individually, but team titles depend not only on him.

I don't think Portugal are strong enough. Argentina I think are better than Portugal*, so have a better chance of winning, but yes there are plenty of other good teams, so the eventual winner will face some real fights, it won't be easy for anyone.

The 2022 FIFA World cup battle have already started and as you said one of the favorite team of many football fans have been knocked out of the tournament at the qualifying stage the Nigeria team have been underperforming in their recent games and that attention is now shifted to another team who have the motivation to push through to the finals such as Egypt 🇪🇬 national team or even Ghana 🇬🇭 defeated the Nigerian team in the qualifying stage.

I don't think tha Portugal is stronger than in last years. Yes, it is Ronaldo's last World Cup (probably), but this alone will not be enough for them to win it. You could argue equally for Argentina/Messi. Messi is in a similar situation, both haven't won the World Cup (but at least the equivalent on their continents) and for both it is likely the last World Cup this year. But the competition is strong, for Portugal or Argentina to even reach the semi-final they will have to beat other strong teams such as France or Brazil which is pretty unlikely.

each teams have same chance to reach semi final stage, as long as they play well and could make a goal who is the enemy would not be serious problem. all team must prepare their player in best condition to get best result in this tournament. abroad players still be backbone and their contribution needed .

Yes indeed. At first, all the teams have the same chances but slowly, everything will be seen and we can see which team has a bigger chance than the other team. Maybe in the second half, after many teams have left the list, it will be seen more clearly so that we can make a complete list. The players themselves have been prepared to play with a good performance and of course, they have been training hard.

Without being biase on my choices, I think most of the Affican nations a likely not going to make it past group stage. The few that would would likely get eliminated in the round of 16. Ghana most especially seems to have been placed in a group of death with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea, no bad feelings but its game over. From the way I see it, they are the least in that group although, not to mind  the best doesn't always wins but most times, they do and this is world cup.

Anyway  if I'm to pick those I project to lift the trophy and other consolation prizes, I'll go with;
1. Germany
2. Belgium
3. Brazil
I'm sure they've got a few flaws but, that's my pick.

each of us must have his own champion, but if we look at the performance of asia and africa, in my opinion their country is still not strong enough to win the world cup Qatar, but according to my prediction this year the country with the most chance to win the world cup is,
1, England

Qualification for world cup for South American nations like Brazil and Argentina has always been a certainty for them for many years so I don't rate them based on that neither do I build expectations based on that. Apart from France I don't think any European nations gives Brazil much trouble. Germany only did sometimes ago because the Brazilian team was built around Neymar and him been out of that game with a career threatening injury really devastate the team hence Germany could capitalize on that. That same German team struggled against Argentina in the final. Argentina almost won if not that the strikers were been wasteful in the game.

this will be the last world cup for Cristiano Ronaldo with Portugal and also several other stars of course we really hope that Portugal can at least step into the semifinals although it is not easy considering they often struggle when facing big teams like Germany but I am very confident with the performance and strength of the players who are so qualified in the Portugal squad this season, where the Portuguese players are currently playing with big teams in European competition.of course it will be a reference that Portugal can go further in the Qatar world cup

The World Championship, where the main issues are decided in a one-match knockout game, is a kind of lottery where a very large group of teams has a chance to win. I'm sure we'll see a few games where the clear favorite gets knocked out of the tournament by an underdog. Not all favorites will be knocked out of the tournament in matches like Brazil - Germany or Germany - France, there will be lower-level sensations and death matches. Even Macedonia was able to destroy Italy, why can't other teams do the same?
