That's bad, they should bring people who can do the job better, if politics is involved in football it won't take the team to anywhere. I wonder why they should retain him when it is clear with èvidence that he is not good for the work.
It is not that they do not know the right thing to do. They want to keep recircling the old hands there. If you know the level of corruption that goes on at Nigerian football house you will be shocked. Everybody knows that these people do not have the interest of football at heart. Austin Egueavon gets paid regularly and he is not owed any salaries so it is not much of a concern to him what happens with our football. For football to grow in this country a foreign coach will be better because we respect foreign coaches more than local coaches. Nigeria has to double up it efforts in the race of football nowadays, the ways they have been playing need to change drastically, am quite assured there might be politics involved but as you've said there's a need to involve a foreign coach who is not black at all, they need to train super eagles without being bias and change their match orientation along with their playing strategies, a new wine cant taste good when in an old wine skin.

Not just any type of foreign coach for the sake of getting one. Nigeria needs a reputable top coach that can command respect from those our arrogant players. Most of the players are full of arrogance once they come back home to play for country even when they do not get regular playing time in the clubs abroad. Did any of you hear about the report of the exchange Kelechi Iheanacho had with coach Austin Egueavon and how he told the coach that he had more money than him? It was an insult and Iheanacho knows it. He can not try that nonsense with his club coach.

Taking into consideration that Ghana is not an easy team that could complicate the classification for Portugal, yes, you are absolutely right, at this moment it is difficult to determine how it will be to play against Portugal, there are still many days before the World Cup begins, sometimes we cannot take into account that the level that Portugal or Ghana have right now will be with the same performance that they will have in November, this is something that is difficult to determine, we do not know if Portugal or Ghana will play well or badly, for now what matters is uqe Portugal is clear that whether Ghana has a local coach or not, they will be a very hard team to beat.
At the moment, the quotes for which team will become the winner of the group are as follows: Portugal - 1.65 Uruguay - 3.00 Ghana - 11.90 Republic of Korea - 11.90 As you can see, Ghana is a clear outsider, and Portugal is an indisputable favorite, so, presumably, in a personal meeting, Portugal will easily beat Ghana. And by the way, judging by the manner of the game, it looks like the truth - the Portuguese team will be extremely inconvenient for Ghana.

The NFF needed to understand that football is not a game of stinginess or partial role and efforts is neither required when panting for an outstanding result, we have more qualified foreign coaches that need to resurrect the pattern of our playing here, they have the experience and the result is there glaring and obvious to the eye, why can't we go extra mile in search for excellence and perfection, when will that year reverse itself when Nigeria will take the world cup? We need to wake up.

If you want to know the way Nigeria are backwards most Africa greats like Samuel Eto and Didier Drogba are representing their football federation. Eto is president of Cameroon football. Drogba is Governor of Ivory coast football. But the likes of Okocha is busy dancing for as an ambassador in BETKING lol

I am a bit surprised that Korea is considered on the same level with Ghana. Korea's FIFA rank is 39, Ghana's is 60. I would actually have thought Ghana is stronger though. But I suppose the FIFA ranks are a bit skewed between different continents? Both, Ghana and Korea will have a difficult time in that group. They mustn't lose to the stronger teams if they want to stand a chance for qualification

Nigeria is a very unique and a peculiar country as compared to maybe Cameroon or Ivory Coast, leadership role in this country is rugged. You have to be a politician or strongly affiliated with one or else you won't get the set and if you eventually do you'd be frustrated out. Okocha and many other Ex Nigeria footballers know the games going on in the NFF and from the look of things most of them are distancing themselves from them. They will rather focus on their personal businesses than getting involved in an organization where you'll be frustrated.

The problem of Nigeria football has always been be politics, I guess why Nigeria didn't qualify is because of the coach they have , he lack strategies as a coach that was the problem Nigeria had then ,I just hope the new coach will transform the team.

They mustn't lose to the stronger teams if they want to stand a chance for qualification I think the bookmakers use much more accurate estimates than FIFA since they are responsible for their estimates with money. FIFA ranks teams on formal grounds, while bookmakers use more complex models that include many parameters and not just game results. I trust bookmakers' estimates more than FIFA's, although of course the reality may turn out to be quite different. For me, for example, it was surprising to see such a clear leadership of Portugal.

Ohh my Mate Masplanc, Mohammed Salah is the name But it is not a easy thing to carry the country in he's shoulders. Cristiano Ronaldo did this for Portugal anyways. Africans are not real good good. Every country must have great players to be able to boost their country so they can take their country further, in my opinion fate is what brought together the two liferpol stars in the world cup qualifiers, if only Egypt managed to qualify for the world cup, Sadio Mane fans will surely feel disappointed, and vice versa, but if the two countries are not met in the world cup qualifiers, it is likely that we can see their performance in the Qatar world cup, I don't agree if you say African football is not good, the proof is that there are a lot of African players who play good in Europe. Never blame the players for not being able to bring their country to the world cup.

I think Nigerians and the NFF need to believe in their own and shun these foreign coaches who come to Africa for money. The truth is these coaches lose nothing if the country don’t win anything but the local coaches lose pride, when the country don’t win. It's actually right to stick with the local coaches because the NFF and the minister of sports who's definitely a politician would advocate they get a foreign candidate they can get something from and probably pay lesser, leaving out the most qualified.

This I just heard you say money? well if you choose that as a choice then i think that's base on your personal conviction but one thing am rest assured of, that the level of insanity in the Africans is abit higher than the foreign when considering football and how the engaged politics to it in disguise, I've seen many female athletics and footballer doing quite alright but having a female coach or as an assistant coach will still in a long way make a difference and preferably this time, a foreign one.

The truth is these coaches lose nothing if the country don’t win anything but the local coaches lose pride, when the country don’t win. How do they lose pride? You think Eguavoen feels he has lost anything? For them once they are getting their salaries they are okay. Black people are most times not after dignity. They just want to satisfy their selfish interest before national interest. Knowing he was not as qualified as Emmanuel Amunike why did he not allow Amunike to be in charge of the team? The shameful aspect is that Eguavoen only resigned as coach but he is still working as technical director for the football body. He is still getting paid by the government. Again a foreign coach will know how to discipline erring players more than local coaches who they can challenge and be stubborn to.

When i looked at the table earlier this morning to see other teams qualified for the next stage i shake my head, because we are better of more qualifications than most of the African teams but how could ordinary Ghana with low performance since the beginning cast us out just like that, i think this time around its not the change of coach that Nigeria needs but rather the entire crew, right from the coach down to the least employee of NFF needed to to filtered, our players are trying but why are we not seing result.

The European football authorities have been complicit in corruption for years and apparently a lot is swept under the carpet. UEFA and world football body hardly investigate cases involving top European countries correctly but when it's Africa and South America they throw their weight into it, investigate and place sanctions or bans swiftly.

In order to prove that all football is saturated with corruption, one does not have to be Sherlock Holmes. Where the benefits are created by one (clubs) and officials (UEFA and FIFA) manage the results, there will always be corruption. Naturally, in troubled countries like Nigeria, this takes absolutely terrible forms. To change this situation, it is necessary to change not the style or people, but the business model - business should be run by businessmen and not by officials, so we are waiting for the appearance of the Superleague.

Can also recall the one time FIFA president who was directly involved in fraud one way. But in the case of Nigeria it is very high as you can see some of these ugly acts with your eyes. Reasons I don't waste my precious time watching Nigerian game's. How well with the African qualifiers ? Has anyone got a quick update to share ?

I think Nigerians and the NFF need to believe in their own and shun these foreign coaches who come to Africa for money. The truth is these coaches lose nothing if the country don’t win anything but the local coaches lose pride, when the country don’t win.
You bring out a very valid point in terms of a coaches pride and what not when a home team wins, but I want to believe these football houses these days pick their coaches based on football coach certification of which the local coaches might not have...besides having a foreign coach has its on advantages as new football techniques are taught and easier ways of going about with their daily trainings are introduced which is a win win for everyone at the end of the day.
