221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong Police Freeze $10M Fund for Protesters - Bitcoin Becomes Attractive on: December 20, 2019, 03:30:42 PM
The Hong Kong Police, working with China, has frozen a major fund that was intended for arrested and injured protestors. The case for financial freedom with Bitcoin has never been more clear.

Bitcoin’s popularity always seems to spike when people’s wallets are directly affected. Throughout 2019, we’ve seen multiple fears of bank runs and ATMs running out of cash during crises. In October, BeInCrypto reported that Chilean ATMs were reportedly locked during a state of emergency. That same month, Bitcoin trading volume ballooned as Hong Kong residents found themselves locked out of ATMs.

Now that their funds were locked out, I think it's time for them to take Bitcoin seriously.

Storing them in banks is such a bad idea, especially if they are using it for protests. If they could have stored it in Bitcoin, the police and government cannot stop them as they do not own or control the blockchain technology.

Bitcoin took out the third party or intermediary in peer-to-peer transactions, and this is what Hongkong protesters should need if they want to keep their funds safe from being frozen.

This is Bitcoin's time now. We're not just focusing on the price itself, but how can it be used without the risk of having our funds frozen.
this is also one of the reasons why i like bitcoin because if you put money in the bank it feels like its not your own money
bank can freeze and lock your account anytime there is also limit of how much you can spend or withdraw with your own money
while using bitcoin you can spend, trade, encash or even invest without limit
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe satoshi is dead on: December 20, 2019, 03:18:09 PM
until now the name Satoshi Nakamoto is still a mystery and about him is still alive or not, of course we will not know. but that is not important because after he created Bitcoin my life have is began to change. however the name Satoshi will always be remembered by crypto lovers even if he's have is dead or still a alive.

i agree we will not forget the creator of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto whether he's dead or alive
if we will talk about cryptocurrency the people that will come up first in our mind will be satoshi
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teen crook hacked into 75 phones and stole $1M in cryptocurrency: authorities on: December 20, 2019, 03:09:30 PM
Another day, another bad guy has been caught:

Quote
An alleged teen crook stole the identities of 75 people and swiped $1 million in cryptocurrency — all from the comfort of his Brooklyn apartment, authorities said.

Yousef Selassie, 19, used a sophisticated SIM-swapping scheme to take over the phones of people in 20 different states between Jan. 20 and May 19, 2019, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

He allegedly transferred his victims’ phone numbers to his own iPhones, enabling him to reset their passwords and gain access to their Gmail, cryptocurrency and other accounts. Meanwhile, his victims’ phones would suddenly go offline.

The stolen $1 million came from just two victims, authorities said. Selassie was arrested Dec. 5 in Corona, California, and extradited to New York.

He was arraigned Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, where he pleaded not guilty to 87 counts of grand larceny, identity theft and other charges. Justice Mark Dwyer ordered him to surrender his passport and check in weekly with a supervised release program. The judge did not set bail.

Authorities executed search warrants on Selassie’s Brooklyn and California residences, where they seized half a dozen iPhones, two Rolex watches, a monogrammed Gucci wallet and numerous pieces of high-end jewelry, according to court papers.

It's just a matter of time before these bad eggs are going to be caught, either they make a mistakes or authorities are simply hunting them down. 5-10 years sentence will be enough for this criminals? What do you think?
i hope they will also start to hunt those ICO scammers
many people lose a lot of money and interest in crypto because of those scammers
until now many new ICO still pop up and like what happened in the past almost all of them will just leave after taking the investment

Craig Wright: "BTC is not Bitcoin"  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mItX9ku35U

The snake oil salesman is at it again. Pretending to be Satoshi again and saying everyone should not be running nodes and Bitcoin was not meant to

be anonymous.  Cheesy  Feel free to share your likes and dislikes on the video and please comments on this rubbish to expose the truth. I do not want

to give him more exposure, but I also do not want his rubbish going uncontested. (It is obvious that he is choosing interviewers who are clueless and

who would not challenge him on the bullshit he is spreading.)  Angry
he still trying to compete in bitcoin maybe he thinks that by competing in bitcoin
maybe he is not aware that by doing it he is giving a bad impression to the fork he is supporting
sooner or later it will backfire when everyone realized that the fork is just another useless altcoin
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 19, 2019, 04:32:42 PM
As we all know , crypto market is not doing so much in these days. Major Altcoins are bleeding, even top currencies are not increasing
Major reason according to my opinion is the lack of new investors. New investors are not showing interest.
in 2020 I think will be better than Today. What do you think, what is your prediction about crypto market. kindly share your thought.
yes there is lack of investor in altcoin today and many people cant hold back because of the holiday
some people need some money to use in holiday
many people also selling altcoin to get more bitcoin because of the incoming halving

226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are only rich on spreadsheets on: December 19, 2019, 04:24:23 PM
Most of bounty price only good in token sale price and bad in market price.
This is always happen when i join a bounty.
Before i know that, i always speculate the bounty rewards i get when the bounty is ongoing. Then in the end this give me big sad. So, i didn't speculate again now to reduce my sad  Cheesy
this is also what im doing before i also calculated the possible rewards i will get in every bounty i participate
at the start i get more what i expect is some bounty
but today even you expect the worse the result will be worse than what you expect
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop shielding Scam, fake, or unproductive altcoins project on: December 19, 2019, 04:09:45 PM
With what I can understand what altcoins are now wasn't what they were before, it was more productive, more realistic and made getting on board cryptocurrency more diverse you don't always have to base on Bitcoin.
But the problem now are different. Everywhere is filled with altcoins the more populated it becomes the More exposed it is to drop in utility.

While all this problems are happening to altcoins we also can part of this issue. Shielding, advocating and support project that are clear to fail for any financial gain or so on.
By standing with those sort of project you can
+Get investors scammed or regret why they invested
+ Lose your credibility as a cryptocurrency enthusiast
+ Make the altcoin sector become a total joke
And many vices.
Let's become more responsible with our action for a good course
in my opinion, what we need in the new token offering is an escrow for the payment so they can't run or decline to pay after the token offering
KYC for the team behind the offering and maybe some video call from a member of the team for legit check
many people stop investing in crypto or joining some bounties because of scam in altcoin
but i think it will be different if they can provide some proof that their offering is legit many people might change their mind
im just hoping some website can implement it or make some requirements here in bitcointalk before they start bounties and announcement

228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has this year Christmas favor your cryptocurrency portfolios? on: December 19, 2019, 03:54:57 PM
I couldn't hold it back any longer; as I have sold off my major portfolio because of Christmas celebration. This hold started from last year July, 2018 and now, couldn't hold them again as I have sell off my assets because of the pressure from the family members. After the sale of this asset this evening, I was perplexed as how much I just dumped, all in the name of Christmas.

What are your experience: positive or negative.
i still have some extra cash so i plan to hold back a little more because I don't want to regret it later
im just hoping there will be some good thing to happen in crypto before or after the halving of bitcoin

229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting cryptocurrency through altcoin on: December 19, 2019, 03:46:17 PM
When you hear of cryptocurrency what mostly comes in the mind of people is Bitcoin and that's people that are not all to familiar with cryptocurrency.
In as much as Bitcoin controls a high level of cryptocurrency, altcoins are indispensable.

To my little knowledge on cryptocurrency there are altcoins for a lot of uses, some for medical use, some for advertising, some for gaming and so on. With people having interest in this areas to spread cryptocurrency we can take advantage of this opportunity it doesn't have to be all about Bitcoin all the time.
Though the problem with altcoins is the turn out of the coin after wards and the responsiveness of the owners. But if investors or crypto addicts can engage more in altcoins this will boost altcoins and get more organisers active and spread cryptocurrency more
well it's possible to gain more adoption by supporting some popular coin
but by supporting new coin and token is risky because there is a lot of scam in altcoin in bounties and coin/token offering
there is a possibility that those investors will stay from crypto if ever they lose some money
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we buy new token or coin? on: December 18, 2019, 04:13:08 PM
What is the most reason to buy new token or new coin, to trade it in the market or to spend it if there something to spend it?
I am talking here that token or coin already listing in exchanges.
And not tokens exchanges such as BNB.
What you think?
there are only few reasons why people buy a new token
usually, some of them will use it in their platform or to trade to gain some profit
while others see the potential of the coin because the good purpose, uniqueness or benefit the token is offering
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce crypto currency to newbies on: December 18, 2019, 04:03:15 PM
In your opinion, what is an effective way to introduce crypto currency for newbies, and how important do you think?
I think platform like the Brave browser are a very effective way, this is important because newbies are the future?
Give all your thoughts here
In my own opinion, introducing cryptocurrency to newbies would be difficult because crypto is very complicated to understand, so i think the best way to introduce them about it is by telling them about the history of bitcoin and blockchain technolog, you could also show how you could earn money with it and the benefits of buying it.
like what you have said crypto is very complicated
in my opinion telling the history and blockchain will also make it hard for them to understand

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $100 million worth of ETH? on: December 18, 2019, 03:52:40 PM
Yes, I think so too. Times in 2017 will be very difficult to achieve now but that does not mean impossible either. And I think ATH will happen if bitcoin touches the new ATH price first.
Many people assume that in 2020 this will happen. But what is clear is that the year of crypto can be carried out if the king holds a massive party, which in the sense of bitcoin touches prices above $ 20k.
i agree its not really impossible for eth to reach the price in 2017 or break the ATH
only if bitcoin price increase in the next halving because some of altcoin price of altcoin depend on bitcoin like eth

233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Projects that failed to keep their promise in 2019 on: December 18, 2019, 02:32:18 PM
It's not very uncommon nowadays. Some project offers money for those who will help to raise their funds then forget about their promise. That's how online business running. I don't know how to stop this kind of thing. There should be some kind of system where those projects need to pay their token first to the platform and the platform will distribute token to the worker after the project end. This way we can eliminate scam projects too.
i agree they need to implement escrow for every campaign in bitcointalk
because bounty run for a few months and there also some bounty that take a year
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for bounties on: December 18, 2019, 02:26:12 PM
Hello guys, I'm looking for a new bounty to join. May I have some suggestions/recommendations?
as we can see you already pick hydax bounty campaign
but if you change your mind you can pick some bounty campaign that pay in bitcoin
some of them is just small amount but they pay weekly or monthly.
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to selling the BTC Now on: December 17, 2019, 04:26:01 PM
Good Morning! Bitcoiners.
Please sell the BTC now ASAP.
The price of bitcoin will fall down more and more.
It will be hard to defend $7000.
I think now is good time to get your original money from cryptocurrency.
Regards  Shocked
it look like you want to take advantage of those who dont have knowledge about the incoming halving
yes there is a possibility that the price of bitcoin will drop a little in a few days , weeks or months
but it can also rise in instant and there is a chance that you will not have a chance to buy bitcoin at $7000 again
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction 2019, 2020, 2025, 2030, 2040 on: December 17, 2019, 04:16:40 PM
some of the prediction is just made to make a hype its better to stay away and dont believe on them
make own research and learn the history about bitcoin the supply and demand plus the event when the price increase
see for yourself the real potential of bitcoin based on the fact and the knowledge you have.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: December 17, 2019, 04:01:53 PM
Today bitcoin loses its 7k glory, how are you guys holding up? What do you think will be the next stop? Do you think this drop in value is another strength to better bull run?
there is possibility that it will drop a little more
traders and whales is pushing the price to drop so they can buy a cheaper bitcoin
but what important is that sooner or later it will recover because of the incoming bitcoin halving
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about quitting mining on: December 17, 2019, 03:43:24 PM
Tell me if my plan is bad, the first time i entered crypto space i started with mining rig setups but after some time its no more profitable so i stopped mining, now i start joining airdrops and bounties but present market condition is not helping, now i decide to sell my rig and find other business to divert the money to, if bull run ever comes i will still have coins to sell since most of my bounties i hold the ones with use cases, is selling my mining rig a good call?
if you only plan to mine bitcoin its not really a good idea if you are a small time miner
the best solution is look for new altcoin to mine or lease your rigs in miningrigsrental
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to zero? This guy is dreaming! on: December 17, 2019, 03:37:49 PM
I wonder what the Ethereum miners are doing. Mining is dying every day. The rapid decline of the Ethereum price affects everyone. The biggest community after Bitcoin is the Ethereum community. Prices may rise again. Ethereum won't go to zero.
as of now ethereum still have some purpose and use
that why i think its really impossible for the price to drop to zero
price correction happen even in bitcoin maybe current price is the right price for the current supply and demand

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DOES BOUNTY PROJECTS TAKE TIME TO ENTER A MARKET on: December 17, 2019, 03:29:52 PM
I Notice that most projects that conducted bounty finds it difficult to enter the crypto market especially a quality market. i think most are afraid of been dump.
what are the possible reasons why tokens takes too much time before getting listed on exchange.
its not easy to be added in some exchange
some of them have a lot of requirement and some of them required a large fee
