2201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people don't adopt Bitcoin - they don't understand Expected Value on: February 11, 2023, 02:16:10 PM
There are many possible reasons:

Some businesses choose not to simply because they'd be hesitating to use Bitcoin to keep their business alive especially whenever the market price is falling. Same thing goes with individuals wherein they'd be in guilt to use Bitcoin on daily transaction simply because of the profit potential if they will just hold it until bullish market occur. It's volatility is the main thing which gives doubt to users. Another reason is the risk involved from doing so. There will be downfalls on its market value without certainty of when will the market recover. I'd say people are either just lacking the knowledge in this technology or simply they are not into investments.
2202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My ideals on how to promote Bitcoin in my locality on: February 10, 2023, 11:57:15 PM
To some, actually we don't need to promote this industry. Many people are already aware of its existince and advantages over other currencies and same goes with the disadvantages. Let people decide whether they'd dive into this industry. Share only the idea of how this industry works and how you are making use of this technology. One reason of not persuading them is to save them from risk especially if they are not into it. It will just be a drama if you'd push them to invest and once they are seeing losses, you'd be the one to blame. Sharing the knowledge would be a good idea but never be biased when introducing this industry to people.
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite MEME COINS? on: February 10, 2023, 05:34:13 PM
For sure DOGE and SHIB would be included on the most popular meme coins. Problem with these tokens are having no utility. Well there are indeed big tokens of the same concept but atleast they have their own chain which somehow supports the utility aspect. Meme tokens are more reliant qith demand which makes its market price more volatile compared to other altcoins. If you found a good one for sure you'd earn huge from it but do not expect for a long term increase. The rate of increase would be surely big but same thing goes for its downfall. It could happen overnight such as what we've saw from most of them.
2204  Economy / Economics / Re: Dubai is good example to other countries on: February 10, 2023, 04:59:59 PM
If you're aware of economic differences in each country, you'd know why some grew faster in comparison with remaing which were left behind. It could be governance, people or natural resources which contribute to this difference. If it would be country's growth, I'd more idolize what japan did. They were once among the poorest but managed to climb up. Same thing goes with contributing factors mentioned above.
Dubai life is for the rich. To know the reality of Dubai you need to walk around the streets during the early mornings. I've seen people waiting for the cabs. Rich enjoy the luxury whereas the labours suffer to the core. The sufferings were to make their families in the home country happy and fulfill their needs. The cabs used to pick them around 5am and drops them back around 9pm. What a hectic life, and this isn't the same everywhere. The government keeps on developing tourism which is the only source of revenue other than oil. The country in the middle between Asia and Europe have made it a trading hub.
In short they are maximizing the resources their country has. Problem to third world countries are lacking support in different sectors, and also, capital to support. It is somewhat of a sequence. But above all is governance to make progressive development of an economy, more efficient.
2205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 10, 2023, 03:36:24 PM
Just sell when you're ready. It would be hard to determine the bottom or ceiling of the market price. Likewise with anticipating when will bear and bullish trend start or occur. Therefore, selling at a point wherein you won't regret doing a particular action. You won't be able to get every penny or profit in this industry. The market itself is full of uncertainty and inconsistency. The market could fall or rise depending on the demand basically because it is the only factor which affects the market price. Demand on the other hand is affected by many things which makes it more difficult to create accurate predictions.
2206  Economy / Gambling / Re: Own a profitable gambling site. Looking for investors on: February 10, 2023, 01:10:18 PM
I think you are in the wrong place because in this forum you will not find the investors you are looking for and you want, if you are sure that the gambling site you are building can be successful, in fact you can borrow money from a bank or a moneylender if you want to develop it.
I disagree. There are many investors in this industry who are both players and aspiring project investors. The only problem I am seeing is the way OP's platform is being introduced to this industry, as others have mentioned. If you are an aspiring developer or investor, ofcourse you'd prefer a more detailed lay out of a platform to take things seriously. 'coz if it is not, then scam accusations will just be thrown at you and will result to what is unwanted. This might just be an arising idea but there's definitely a better way to do so. Many people here are meticulous given that it is huge money we are talking about and not a single penny.
2207  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 09, 2023, 11:34:16 PM
Well, yes. I tend to allot my budget for the whole month and that includes personal savings and emergency funds separately. I am fully aware that there will be times that those alloted money could be spent for any reason possible but atleast, if you planned where those funds will really be used, you'd resist not to use all of it to another thing which it wasn't meant to. On a long run, having savings would really be helpful especially in times of need and for future purposes ofcourse. But I won't judge those who does not have it simply because we are going through different circumstances; ofcourse anyone would dream to have a savings but not all would be capable especially if the salary itself won't be enough for a daily living.
2208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: February 09, 2023, 10:52:36 PM
Been asked multiple times and I'd still say no. Bitcoin has a lot of potential to be a good investment because of its volatile market value and the same reason why it won't be a leading currency. Yes, it has advantages over payments; not taxable, anonymity, low fees but faster transaction and such. But it has problems with adoption around the globe.  Even at this point, people are only making use of it for profit purposes and only a few are actually using it with transactions because of many factors such as guilt of losing potential profit in comparison with just holding. And as long as its nature would be the same, I guess same thing would happen in the future.
2209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 09, 2023, 10:29:39 PM
Savings? that depends on the individual if he would  have such thing and that has nothing to do with being a gambler. You could be a teacher, an athlete, a psychologist or any profession you can imagine but having savings wpuld depend solely on your mindset. If you have observed that many gamblers do not have it, maybe you just generalized from the people you know. I am a gambler but I do have savings. Also I set limitations with the amount I can afford losing everytime I would play. And that does not include my savings. Actually, savings has nothing to do with being a gambler and vice versa. It is more of a mindset as I have mentioned above.
2210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Extremely Holding on: February 09, 2023, 03:06:08 PM
If this isn't some extreme form of holding, I wonder what it is then. According to the Twitter handle of Bitcoin Archive, 412Bitcoin worth $9.6m was moved from an address that was dormant for 11years. That means the owner just bought and "forgot" it there. While for some of us who have been holding for the past 3 months, it's seems like a century. This is gentle nudge that if someone has done it then you can(that is, if this is your goal).
How long do you think you can hold?

Forgot? Possible. But it might also be planned, no one really knows except for him/her. I have tried holding an amount of BTC for more than a year but was tempted to sell during last ATH. in my opinion, holding in long term with consistency is a more stress free investing habit but don't expect instant profit. While short term investment is a technique to get profit instantly nd in accordance with investor's own will. Holding will never be too easy especially if you are conscious about every related news in this industry and ofcourse with its price movement which is determined by demand and market price volatility.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 02:39:19 PM
Compulsive simply means doing something against one's consciousness. We can only say that you are gambling compulsively if you cannot subdue the urge of doing so even if you are aware of what is happening. But is a different thing than addiction. So somehow I am against mentioned sign 3 because it somehow speaks for a need to do so, which is a determinant of addiction. Same thing goes with obsession whoch is also a different thing wherein it allows you to focus your attention into it such as with signs  1 & 4. But any of these would simply mean that you are going too much more than what should be. If it affects your daily functioning then seeking for professionl help would be the best thing to do.
2212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 02:06:50 PM
Maybe they are not into 'new features' of this industry. My grandfather as well have tried visiting the online gambling platform I am currently playing at and it was a bit funny that he's mad of the fact that there are too many colors with the site's UI. Also with the games, he was seeking for a more plain one wherein he could play slots. He's not into sports gambling and other 'highly active' games. He prefers more of a 'play n' go ' kind of games. But this is not to generalize still. I'm just glad that gambling does not age into its players. This somehow formed a question in my mind; would I still be gambling when I'm old? I hope I still do.
2213  Economy / Gambling / Re: Arbitrage betting tips on: February 08, 2023, 10:48:24 PM
Everything about this arbitration issue is very interesting, but don't you think that these processes are already so automatic that they don't give them the opportunity to do so? Previously, you could do that, but it's not profitable either, I've already tried things like that, but the opportunities for that style of earnings are at a zero level, and in the cases where they could be done, there aren't many opportunities, and I don't I know if I'm redundant, but in games it's difficult, where I think it can be done is in sports, but in what way? a result comes out in a matter of seconds and in those seconds only a robot can have the opportunity to do it quickly.
Bots did make it tougher to find these arbs easily, but it's still possible to find plenty of arbs manually though you will need to look harder. It's far easier to spot live arbs when compared to pre-game arbs, but you would need to work harder.

Also, the quickest way to earn big from these arbs is by investing big amounts, but there are several risks involved which is why you should invest only what you're willing to lose.

But isn't that cheating? If a casino realizes that a person has put up a bot that can take advantage of these movements, it is very likely that they will be definitively banned, but it would be something very unfair because they would simply be doing something that is allowed, because I have not seen rules that speak of about arbitration, and when there are no rules, any tool can be legal, there if it is not frowned upon, but I am sure that if someone makes that type of movement they will be caught as a cheater and possibly block all the money they could have made and that dislike.

If it is a separated software to calculate outcome then I guess it won't be detected by a gambling platform. Also, this type of gambling strategy has been existing for a long time now so I guess it would be safe from ban accusations. On the other hand, it won't be saving a player from risk. As others have mentioned, betting on a multiple would be requiring a bettor to use a bigger amount of money than with what's usual. The idea of arbitrage gambling is just to bet on all outcomes. The risk would be with calculations that will balance out losing bet outcomes and winning bet outcome. Also, a bit complicated which might add difficulty for the players.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: February 08, 2023, 10:27:02 PM
Shakur will be the favorite here, its also a home court advantage so this will be a big challenge for Yoshino, both boxer are undefeated so this will be a big pressure to them. Shakur seems to be more fit and active though, if you’ll see his previous matches his aggressiveness is there and a deadly punches are there as well. Who ever wins here will face another big challenge on their next match either with Haney or Loma, so better for them to do their best on this match.

Not sure if there is pressure on Shakur, yeah, he needs to win this fight because it will be in hometown, but he will be facing a somewhat unknown boxer from Japan. I'm not saying that Yoshino is not going to win, but basing on the experience alone of Shakur and Yoshino not exposed, it might be very hard for him to win in US, in my opinion. Yes, whoever wins here, is assured to face the winner of the Loma vs Haney fight. So this is in the mind of Shakur since he wanted to break into the picture and become a champion in another weight class.
Actually both are having 'noisy' names, there's just this barrier between local and international viewers. Yoshino quite had a good record for being undefeated in his local while Shakur is as well but with foreign fighters. This is where difficulty with bettors measure comes from. In general, the japanese boxer's statistics would be somehow set aside since international record is believed to be having a bigger weight not only in sports industry. But this is boxing we are talking about and anything could happen once both fighters starts in the middle of the square. Both has their own trainings and tactics to win over their opponent. So what's more likely to happen , and as we can see in this topic, Shuichiro is just the underdog in this match.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going to make mma predictions blog (for gamblers) on: February 08, 2023, 09:57:34 PM
Predictions won't mean certainty. We are in gambling industry. Well, this one would be a good idea especially to those who are new ones in this industry or those who are just interested with particular gambling games or sports (if sportsbetting), for them to gain knowledge and to help them with their bets. As others have mentioned, there are existing prediction threads in this forum so if you want to make it special, probably creating another platform would be a good idea. If it is just sharing, then there will be no problem into it BUT if you are aiming to get profit from it, perhaps with accessibility, then that would be you.
2216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do small e-commerce businesses are scared of accepting crypto payments? on: February 08, 2023, 02:50:07 PM
I'd say businesses in general are still not ready for adoption yet simply because prices are still fiat based and doing so will just yield to loss. Most of the people here in this industry are using Bitcoin more of an asset to maximize its characteristic of being volatile. Only few people are probably using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment and they are more likely huge businesses or individuals having huge transactions while trying to avoid taxes cross countries. It is not a bad thing if small and big businesses are still in doubt of this technology. Someday as development occurs,  hopefully, more places would recognize the potential of this industry.
2217  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Lottery players here? Pick 2, Cash 3, Cash 4, Pick 5 numbers in particular. on: February 08, 2023, 02:40:10 PM

Basically, you can win in a lottery draw if:

a) you're extremely lucky
b) you buy a boatload of tickets

I'm not a math guy really, but I guess you can find all the necessary calculations online. You need to buy A LOT of tickets, only then you have a decent chance of winning.

I agree with the use of the word IF because you can still do these two things but you still cannot win a lottery or you can buy one ticket and there's a possibility that you can win, there were and will be countless of winners that only bought or will buy one ticket and won and win a lottery, I don't believe in mathematical calculation or divination it's been proven that these two has no effect on the result.
Luck would be the only factor for a player to win in lotteries. Some would say to check on history such as number combinations and such but bottomline is that there's no such thing as a way to expectedly win on lottery betting. Algorithms do play a huge role. Buying multiple tickets would indeed logically increase the chances of winning but if you are just unlucky, then the other way around may still happen. On the other hand, there are individuals who bet in  solo manner but are just lucky enough to hit the jacpot. Pure luck based gambling games are indeed something. So if you are into it, expect more of a losing transction than anticipating guranteed victory.
2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 02:02:16 PM
Countless times but most of those instances were when I was losing big time. And if I remember it correctly those were my younger years in this industry wherein I used to be a high roller. I was losing big time which always gave me the idea to quit dince there's a tendency for me to end up with debt if I won't make a change. Fortunately, I came across with sports gambling which somehow changed my vision in this industry. I enjoyed my experience more since I am into sports in the first place therefore making me not only into profit but also for entertainment. From that I've learned to set limits with the amount I would be spending in this industry, up until this point.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to earn with your idle bitcoin (if there is a way anymore?) on: February 07, 2023, 11:34:56 PM
Since it is idle, the best way is to just hold. You may also stake it (if there are any) but assure that the platform would be legitimate, never heard of one for years. Holding Bitcoin for long term is not a bad idea but you'll be needing huge amount of patience simply because the market price won't continuously increase in a consistent manner. There will be times of downfalls in its price as part of its nature of market volatility. But if you are seeking for profitable actions try engaging with trading but risks would be bigger in a sense that you need to buy and sell at the best times and for that to happen, you'll need experience and detailed analysis.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 07, 2023, 10:50:04 PM
Have you guys tried tailing high rollers with their bets on sports and electronic sports?
Because today I tried doing it just for an experiment and I took a bet on 5 games even without knowledge about them. I didn't put too much money into it because like I said, it's just for a trial.
It didn't end up well and these are the results. 4 losses and 1 win.
A high roller doesn't mean that they are good in their bets they just bet high they are like all of the bettors they make mistakes or miscalculations on their bets, it's hard to keep up with high rollers because they have deep pockets some them are playing for fun and they don't care for money, you could increase your winning chances if you bet based on your analysis and not following these high rollers.

Quote
I know it's not right to bet on a game without knowing about it, I am just curious if someone does this kind of strategy.
Copying is good but only if you know who to copy your bet, there are groups that give tips and bets to follow but copying from high rollers based on the stat on the casino is quite risky.
High rollers are simply gamblers who can afford the risk of betting big time. It indeed does not win that they'd be guaranteed with a win but more likely they are just down into it. They can afford losing big amount because they know they will get back with their loss or still come up with a win afterwards but not in an instant. Copy betting is indeed a good idea especially if you know that whom you copied your bets with, knows more of what kind of game you are betting into. But keep in mind that there's no certainty with winning the chances will just be lessen or increased, but enjoyment will for sure be lessen. But it would depend on your preference as a player.
