2221  Other / Meta / Other languages/locations section on: June 05, 2018, 11:12:58 PM
I wanted to create a topic in Other languages/locations but seems like new topic feature is not available there. First I thought I will need to have a decent rank but when I saw even a newbie created a topic then I realized that I am wrong. I am sure that something is missing. Do you have any idea about the reason?

Is there any possibility that the mods/admins disabled new topic creation? If yes then what could be the reason for that?
2222  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: June 05, 2018, 10:32:25 PM

Please have a look on this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4367823.0

You think I will be ok to apply?
2224  Other / Meta / Re: I'm spending too much time looking for posts to merit. on: June 05, 2018, 09:41:26 PM
Personally, I think it's getting harder to get merits. I used to get 2-3 per day easily, and I am now getting them at a much lower rate. I made a very nice post some other day which I expected to get at least 10 merits and got none.
My personal experience is, I am getting decent amounts of merits regularly now where at the very beginning the ratio was too low for me. I did not get much even not very long ago.

However, I do believe overall merit receiving will reduce as we go ahead. There will not be many merit abusing/misusing cases.
2225  Other / Meta / Re: Account with too much copy/paste posts on: June 05, 2018, 09:27:43 PM
Report the user in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.0 <=== Mod, please check new plagiarism: Reporting copy/pasting, please permban

Now a days copy/pasting considers as serious violation and seems like the mod takes immediate action.
2226  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting topics, opened with 2 lines, copied from an article + after the link? on: June 05, 2018, 09:24:40 PM
I also asked this a few weeks ago.

Some people said that if that's all the user does (his whole post history consists of this kind of posts), you should report it and tell the mod to look at his post history.

For example this user: rrs1404 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2046492)

Posting similar contents almost everyday ===> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=2046492;sa=showPosts
2227  Other / Meta / Re: This is happening a lot, someone fix it..... on: June 05, 2018, 09:04:44 PM
And when I checked back to see if any DT took any action I noticed all proofs were gone, what they basically did was gave some 20 merits to a post and finally the user who was merited deleted the posts , so if we check their accounts now they just look like normal full members account and now based on what we have we can't really call them merit abusers
On the merit history page you can only see 120 days old merited activities. This is why you are not seeing those old transactions.

Update:
We already celebrated the day when you were not here  Grin

All good things must come to an end.

Today marks 120 days since the merit system was introduced, and as Theymos said, old entries are going to start dropping off the file:

https://bitcointalk.org/merit.txt.xz

If you want a complete list of merit entries, you now need to keep your own historical records.

Oldest entries (120+ days) will also start disappear off of individual merit pages.

2228  Other / Meta / Re: I paid copper a week ago and have no confirmation on: June 05, 2018, 08:11:46 PM
You might need to wear your copper membership before you are able to post images. That's on the same page as where you bought your membership.
Yes exactly. OP, Have you done with the following instructions?
Once you have it, you get the choice:

If not then, this is the reason you are not receiving the benefits of the copper membership.
2229  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Would you do KYC for a bounty hunt? on: June 05, 2018, 07:37:03 PM
I think you are missing the point of the OP. Is not about keeping anonymous, is about sending your personal documents to someone. They may end up in the dark web for 10$ a piece.

Oh! I see, I am sorry OP and thanks paxmao.

Well this is unfortunate. I would not give my ID to a company which could not even establish a reputation in the market yet. If I was you then I would report the bounty thread and would create a scam accusations thread against the ICO and the bounty manager.
2230  Economy / Services / Re: [For Hire] Bitcointalk posts writer on: June 05, 2018, 07:19:01 PM
Hello everyone, I want to write some posts and earn money. I was working with someone who had a lot of accounts but recently they closed this business for some personal reasons and I would be really glad to write posts for you on daily basis or whatever your need is, I can adjust with that.

I have been writing around 100 posts per day with my previous master and would be able to write up to 100 per day.

100% privacy and professionalism is guaranteed because I have been trained with that, please drop me a PM so we can discuss it further.
had a lot of accounts : Typical example of account farming. I can not believe how a forum can be a center of money source. People like this (your previous master) are no useful for a good cause. They are ruining the forum value.

100 posts per day with my previous master: Seriously! I am interested to see your previous work. I can guarantee you that all those were spammy one line posts? Prove me wrong.

PS: Please find a good job for a living.
I never made a single spam post like you just did for no reason.
You know what is worst? You make comments even when you neither need work or want to work, you are killing your time by writing these shits and ours as we have to read these posts, so please avoid commenting when you are not interested.

By the way promoting gambling websites in your signature for penny is not good either, do you want others to loose money just because you can earn some cents?

Well, I agree that the work I am doing might not be the best in interest of the forum and it's benefits but I need to make a living and I cannot find a job so please don't mind and yes I really do not care what you think but I am just replying because I felt like doing so.
Holy crap! The best ever advice I received so far from this forum.

Don't worry about my time, I know very well how to manage it.

Let me decided what is good for me and what is bad for me. I especially do not need you to decided for me.

Good luck. But I tell you what, you are going through the wrong direction.
2231  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Unwillingness to share signatures on: June 05, 2018, 05:55:57 PM
There seems to be a lack of willingness to share signatures. Is this just the people I come across or is it common? It seems a strange phenomenon as it would be a perfect way to anonymously verify your time in crypto (How old is the account) your trading skills or your wealth and proof of funds. What could cause this reluctance, is it fakers not wanting to get caught out? Is there a signature swapping pool somewhere I'm missing.

Mine is below.

Unfortunately, I just keep adding to the list, and there's some pretty good posts that haven't been merited at all in there.
2233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Walking the plank - the hunt for posts to award with merits. on: June 05, 2018, 05:13:15 PM
The chatroom started with just me and a couple of other sources, but it has expanded to other Legendaries and Heroes with supportive roles in the forum, and with an interest in improving the quality of the boards.
hmm <sad face for my poor assumption>  Smiley

But, there's simply too many current posts that end up sucking my merits from me.
This is a positive sign. It means members are more focused on creating good contents and the merit system IS working without any doubt.
2234  Economy / Services / Re: [Active] SimplyEverything's Escrow | New | Ledger Nano on: June 05, 2018, 04:56:35 PM
Are you serious mate? You are going to provide escrow? How would I believe you at the first place? What guarantee that you will not walk away with the escrowed amount?  Seems like you have spent a fair amount of time to create this topic but unfortunately you are not going to get anything from this.

A YouTube Channel with 282 subscribers, a Telegram channel with 8,303 members is not enough to provide escrow service. Long way to go my friend.

2235  Other / Serious discussion / Re: No Practical Education given in schools these days. on: June 05, 2018, 04:49:05 PM
I'm a firm believer in the importance of education.
Correct, education is important but it does not have to be academic always. School teaches us manners, how to be polite and gentle which is good. To be a man (human race) this is a must for us.

But achieving financial success is not directly related to academic education. It mostly depends on other factors. Factors like entrepreneurship, investing mentality, consistency - never give up attitude, can do attitude, ability to think out of the box, wealth management, know when to quit etc. I doubt a a school has much idea about any of these, if they had these then everyone who had a PHD or even college education would be Billionaires. Plus you would find your teachers most wealthiest in your area.

Schooling system has been designed to work for others they do not teach you how to create scopes for new workers. It's psychological. They don't want you to become someone who will challenge their business.

update:
I hope you read Rich Dad Poor Dad
Can you give us more good financial education books? Just like this, it catches my attention when I read the quotes of Robert Kiyosaki.
Cashflow Quadrant - Robert Kiyosaki
Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill
The 4-Hour Workweek - Tim Ferriss
MONEY Master the Game - Tony Robbins
The Secret - Rhonda Byrne

These are some books worth reading. There are tons though.

2236  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Strategy regarding compliance on: June 05, 2018, 12:08:58 PM
One of the main points the NEO promoters argue is that it has "compliance built in". Tokens and chains are also using their ability to be compliant to promote their use.

On the other hand, some exchanges are closing the privacy oriented coin pairs, possible in search of the huge investments from funds and institutions while some others run to tax heavens or favorable territories.

What's the winning strategy for the next years?

I always thought it's an advantage for NEO. It's an extra layer. For example Ethereum: Digital asset plus smart contract. NEO has both but in addition it also has digital identity. In NEO network everyone has their digital identity.

I always believed in NEO. May be they will have hard time if it happens (exchanges are closing the privacy oriented coin pairs). There are already some good projects built on NEO platform and more are are in progress. NEO should survive, as long as we will see people are using the platform to build their applications.
2237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Walking the plank - the hunt for posts to award with merits. on: June 05, 2018, 11:46:31 AM
@Welsh
I'm on the phone at the moment. Can we discuss this in the chatroom later?
Gotcha! Welsh is another confirmed merit source.  Grin

Clue: If my memory serves me right then Jet Cash mentioned somewhere that he manage a chatroom with other merit sources
2238  Other / Meta / Re: What is going on in the Serious discussion section? on: June 05, 2018, 11:41:58 AM
Bangladesh?
I know you saw me posting in the Other languages/locations section. Did you notice me to post in the Русский (Russian)?   Grin

I know I am messing around however you are really a smart one. Originally I AM FROM Bangladesh but I can assure you that I do not physically live in there that much.

I expected that this section will be moderated more strictly, but maybe mods just aren't getting big number of reports from this section. It would be great to have dedicated mod for Serious discussion and Ivory Tower sections, but these sections aren't very active currently and there are no reasons to appoint mod there.
Ivory Tower IS a very peaceful section. But for Serious discussion, we really need a dedicated mod or at least one mod will need to volunteer regular scanning for Serious discussion board.
2239  Economy / Reputation / Re: user is trading merit for service on: June 05, 2018, 10:51:01 AM
This user or company is trading his services for merits.
Report the post, I just did. I already see vod red trusted the account but not for the merit trading reason.
2240  Economy / Lending / Re: How does loan collateral work? on: June 05, 2018, 10:44:42 AM
Because you might not want to sell what you are putting forth as collateral.

E.g. You have ETH but need BTC for something. You could sell your ETH for BTC, but since you believe ETH will go up in price, you just use it as collateral for a BTC loan. You'll get your ETH back after you do whatever it is you need to do and you return the BTC to the lender.
In addition to it, I would suggest the OP to read this topic as well for a clear idea about collateral.
