2221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halloween greetings from the Crypto crypt. on: November 03, 2015, 08:16:22 PM

Na, it is Crypto Money. It is a special form of money. It is no new paypal or moneybookers or shit like that. And it should not be twisted with things like that. I think it is essential that Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency are the mainwords. I don't see any negative connections with these words at all. And it should be avoided to be connected to things like paypal. The last thing we want is someone thinks, i have paypal, i don't need bitcoin anymore or if it is like paypal then i don't want it... scammy chargeback thing.

No, bitcoin is a complete new thing and that should be made clear.

How about virtual money/virtual coin..

But that implies that its non-existent Cheesy

So if we say "crypto" they get scared, if we say "virtual" they think its a scam. How stupid the sheeple is Cheesy

Virtual money really sounds a bit like playmoney. Cheesy Though the first thought they will have is something like paypal. It is virtual money. Only on the internet. Easily spoken.

And i doubt that someone gets the creeps from the word crypto. Yes, it might be that not everyone knows that crypto means encryption or something hidden but those people who likely will use bitcoin will know. It is still widely a geek currency. And they know what crypto is. So the impression is encrypted money, something hidden. Sounds like safe money.

Everyone who doesn't know what crypto means most probably is not our target group for the moment. They won't understand and the internet most probably is something far away for them anyway.

i rather by a very good bicycle  like the race on, car are overrated, you don't need a car in the city

much more healthy in this way and less costly, no gasoline, warranty etc...

Though you not only drive in the city alone. Maybe in huge cities. But even then, you are slow on longer distances, which means you lose time, which is money somehow.

And you don't want to drive your girlfriend around on the backseat of your bike too. Girls look, don't believe emanzipation, still to what a man has reached to create a life for both of them.

a well i don't have a girlfriend, and i don't think i need one, i can do 50 Km/h easily in a bicycle, this is more than enough to move from place in the city to another place always in the same city

i can only agree if we are talking about travelling outside your city, to reach a new one, but there are bus for that...

50km/h is a lot in the city. Especially better than most cars in rush hour.

And yes, if you don't go to parties or so then busses are fine too. Otherwise they don't drive at good times at the night too. Except it's a really big city.

Behind the scene we have to put alot of pressure and work into it to make him move.

15 months since last div.
6 months since SebastianJu tried to arrange something.

Still nothing. And you even give out the suggestion to start investing into this?  Huh The correct suggestion would be to wait until the move to NXT is made and then re-evaluate. I have to say Sebastian your reputation is not living up to its standards on this one sadly. Very strange stuff going on with this project and your involvement, trying to hold it together and encouraging people. Maybe you are just really trying to help, maybe something else is going on. Whatever it is it leaves a bad taste.

You need to make something happening soon and make it final, because this is not shining a good light on you too by now.

Huh? You missed the div 2 months ago?

And where the heck did i suggest to invest into this? I explicitely wrote that Chronikka should consider to invest because ot the problems, when he wrote that he wants to invest.

I really don't know what you want. If you read things wrong then don't make me look bad only because i try to fix this.

What div? Cryptostocks seems to be down atm?

I'm not trying to let you look bad, you are doing that on your own. I'm just saying how me and others around here feel.

Yes, cryptostocks is down again. Which is why we don't wanted to use cryptostocks anymore. Kumala, the owner, is not known in person by anyone, so when he takes our divs then we are done. I'm not sure when cryptostocks will be back. Last time it took some days.

See my post here:  DO NOT POST SESC LINKS #top

On that day a div was paid that was a little bit less than the second div.

And when you check what Chronikka wrote and what i answered then you would see that he wanted to invest and that i told him he should think about that because of the problems.

In my eyes all of your points you put against me are invalid.

That cryptostocks was used for payment last time was a compromise. Better a div than no div at all. The issuer doesn't look very interested in the move to nxt. Which is insulting since the biggest shareholders i work with, and iam, put a lot of time into that.

That cryptostocks is down is nice for the issuer of course. He can push the payment date again he might think. I'm really angry at the way he acts but slowly i could force him to speak with us. I will not let it slide and i'm angry that the most probably most successfull first year was not used the way we would have awaited. We should have had a big voice in what happens to the investment but he did what he wanted it seems to me.

If he doesn't care then i will go harder on him.

I'm not happy that you attack me only because you misunderstood things. I'm surely not the villain here. I could let this thread die and do what i can for my investment only but i chose to inform the other shareholders too.

Are you willing/able to change the popular terms in order to make Bitcoin more friendly for average people?

You can just say digital cash, digital coin, internet coin ,internet money, free money, safe money , etc.

But the correct term is cryptocurrency, but for laymen, and if you are in circles full of newbies then better use an euphemism Smiley

How do we know his wife, out of curiosity?

I think this Amhash guy talked about this ,,friedcat left without contacting his wife etc''. Bullshit. I think it was a planned exit. That yould explain the  pics of the former abandoned office of asciminer, too.
The office got cleared and not a single person knows where friedcat moved exaclty? Srly?

Weren't the offices abandoned because the employees didn't get their payment anymore and nobody knew where friedcat was and nobody had seen him?

This is really way too strange. I don't understand why there are no big shareholders investigating. I mean there should be a lot chines shareholders. They could speak with every former employee and collect all info. Then find out what might have happened.
2227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the original Satoshi account on here? on: November 03, 2015, 01:34:24 PM
What really is interesting is this quote:

Is this the first bitcointalk.org topic?
What happened with topic 1,2,3 and 4?

1, 2, and 4 exist in the staff forum. 3 was permanently deleted at some point (it must have contained Satoshi's real name and address).

I can't believe that there is not a copy of this data!

I'm pretty sure that is a myth. Satoshi was always wary of his privacy. Communicating encrypted and no one knew him really. There is no way he posted his details on the net, well knowing that what is in the net never can be lost.
2228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Chinese bitcoin player is selling his Tesla S85 for 300 BTC on: November 03, 2015, 01:24:05 PM
Looks like a very nice car. Someone with a car of the future asking to be paid with the currency of the future, seems legit. The asking price for the car is a bit higher than you would expect. 300x380(asking amount of Bitcoin x Price of bitcoin)=$114,00 when the price of the car is around $80,000. He should be asking for around 210 Bitcoin. But other than that, I really like the look of the car and the fact that it is an electric car makes it even better. The currency of the future and the cars of the future really suit each other.

He probably started that offer when the bitcoin price was half of it's todays value...

i do not think this is possible....
but BTC-E is a good option!

btc-e? Isnt' that the exchange that practically has the highest fees around for trading? And the withdraw fees were hefty last time i wondered if i should check them out.

2231  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Lenders, please don't lend without a proper collateral! on: November 03, 2015, 01:05:53 PM
What are the acceptable collateral in the lending business? I heard it is mainly the user account. But it is difficult to evaluate the worthiness of  a user account. It is also difficult to check posts to see if there is a loan attached to the account.

If you want to take an account as collateral then you need to know the account of course. You need to check a lot of things then. Is a signature available, signed with an address that account posted a long time ago in a post that is unedited. Does the lender provide a signature stating that you took it as collateral, including date.

Then do a google search for site:bitcointalk.org scam and site:bitcointalk.org loan to find if the account has taken loans or is a scammer. Check the trust rating including the untrusted feedback.

Check the Post Quality.

Then check the auction and sales subforums to see how accounts are sold.

Most loaners that take accounts as collateral value the accounts way way too high. Which means instant loss most of the time because many lenders don't want the credit but only want to sell the account fast that way.

So better take the lower price tag for the account and then even drop 33% value. Then it might be relatively safe.

I stopped escrowing accounts that are low priced because the work involved and the risk is way too disproportionate.
2232  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: falsche Überweisung on: November 03, 2015, 12:46:03 PM

2233  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the price of bitcoin will continuely rise or down on: November 02, 2015, 10:18:16 PM
This vote needs a new entry. We are at 360 at the moment and moments ago we were at 364$ even. Cheesy

I await it to rise more but i doubt it will break $450. It will most probably break before. The rally already lost power.

Edit: I posted this and when i had sent it was already back at $364... Cheesy

The car of the future with the currency of the future, perfect match Smiley

it's a crap (trap) ... for this branch of car.

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/08/consumer-reports-tesla-model-s-has-more-than-its-share-of-problems/index.htm

only a few of people know what is the problem with electric propulsion (in resume, cost of the replacment part ... charger in first place, controller of motor in second place).

it's not cheap AT ALL.

They should ask Toyota with their hybrid tech. I think they have a lot of experience and toyota is top on having no needed repairs. Toyota even withdraws car to the repair shop very often. Other car manufacturers don't care about most things. They calculate "Cost of withdraw and repair of all cars against reparation for death car drivers." If the latter is lower then they leave it be. 2235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Chinese bitcoin player is selling his Tesla S85 for 300 BTC on: November 02, 2015, 10:04:51 PM
Tesla S are programmable and has internet connectivity, right? I saw a guy on youtube that programmed something on the car. In any case, that dude who bought it has a good taste for cars. Smiley

I'm not sure about the programmability and net connectivity, but I'm not really a fan of the Tesla S. I don't know why, I just don't really like the styling of it.. It's like a 4-door sedan masquerading as a sports car or something. Huh

That's what i think too. The design is somewhat lame, especially at the front. Though tesla is really on the edge of tech. Lately i saw a video with a self driving tesla. Worked fully fine. And another video where a tesla outperformed all supersportcars they tried to set against it. Easy with having an electric motor i guess.

I do not think anyone with 300 BTC will spent his coins for the car. Car value is always depreciating.

Not all cars. Especially green cars can go the other way. I bought a car for Amount X in 2013 and now this same old car sells for 125% X.

It's all about trends.

I imagine it might be similar with Tesla, though it's really expensive. But, i believe, they have a contract for free loading electricity for a year or more. That is valuable...
2238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the original Satoshi account on here? on: November 02, 2015, 09:46:39 PM
What I would do if I was him is to wait that 1 bitcoin reaches $50,000 - $100,000 and then I would announce that I would start moving and selling coins bit by bit. 95% of the coins I would sell and give to the humanitarian organizations and 5% or even less I would keep as a reward for changing this shitty world into a better place.

This would make Satoshi definitely a biggest man that ever walked the planet, if everything would go as I envisioned of course! Smiley

I don't think it would be wise to spend many coins to humanitarian organizations since they would instantly exchange them to fiat and push the price down.

I think satoshi still holds his coins and he is silently waiting for his time, taking over the world as the new world president. Cheesy

What a wonderful crypto world he would create. No poverty, basic income for everyone and much more. Cheesy:D:D:D

Don't take me serious. But i think that he will become more and more a powerful man. And it is wise to stay hidden until then. Like a fairytail.

Let's hope his character is without fail then.
2239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at risk. on: November 02, 2015, 09:27:36 PM
The 7tps thing is a peak. To reach this peak we still have a lot of margin. No need to rush things, but sure, I like to think with a futuristic mind so we should get ahead of the curve.

In any case, big blocks are a death sentence for Bitcoin if it translates into centralization of mining, thats why anyone with some common understanding of all of this should be against XT and any BIP that raises the blocksize to ridiculous levels that would alienate the average joe running a node specially in countries that aren't as advanced.

As if we don't have already a centralizaton of mining. Roll Eyes It simply is only worthwhile for corporations to create miners in big amounts. The enduser can't afford that. It is inevitable. And satoshi foresaw this.

Not quite what we hoped at the start of bitcoin though. But the amount of private miners nowaday are really not worth mentioning anymore.
2240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at risk. on: November 02, 2015, 09:25:27 PM
With the development of side chain, and also the gradual increase of the block size. Bitcoin can handle many more transactions. At present, to insure your transaction go through, just pay a higher fee.

enforcing a fee is not helping transactions flow, but aiding greedy miners to want to ignore 'second class' (free) transactions.. it's reinforcing and telling the miners that their greed is allowed.

so asking people to 'just pay a higher fee' is not positive advice, and is not the point of bitcoin.
if everyone paid a fee, then miners would then cherry pick the highest fee's and then ignore the minimal fee transactions. which will lead to a ongoing cycle of increasing fee's. which will drive away small purchase items if it costs more then those things just in tx fee's.

bitcoin meant to be devisible to 10million parts.. but if it costs 0.0001 just to send. then businesses that use things like google adsense cannot pay users pennies or parts of pennies. because it costs 3cents to send the tx..

this 3cent will increase, not just by people paying more btc to get priority in and endless priority war, but also because bitcoin has risen in fiat value .. meaning its not long before the average tx will cost 4 cents.. then 5c, then 6 cents

so imagine it next year if 1btc=$1000, and imagine everyone paying a fee..
people will end up not paying 0.0001 but 0.0002, which will be 20c/tx..

its simply not helpfull to bitcoin and is purely about greed of miners. this is why the block limit needs to rise, so miners cant make priority excuses to ignore transactions. and instead just do their job of accepting transactions.. which is what bitcoin should be about

i know there is no actual issue at the moment in regards to data confines of a 1mb block as statistics and other peoples observations have shown blocks on average are only half filled.. but its more about removing the limit to get greedy miners to stop pretending that the limit is the cause of their greed

Not to forget that the reward for miners it momentarely way too high. We have 100 times more hashpower than would be needed to secure the network. Which leads to one bitcoin transaction eating electricity worth the daily electricity usage of 1.75 average US-households. Bigger transactions even more.

This is not healthy. And a fee market only would worsen that.

And, when we would have constantly legit transaction worth 1.5MB but only 1MB blocks then this would mean you can push the fees high as you wish. ALWAYS one third of all legit transactions will never confirm. Imagine you send three bank wires and you would know one of them would not confirm. This kind of bitcoin would be doomed to die.
