1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2016, 06:37:38 PM
Growing your bitcoins is possible by doing any of the three methods

1) Gamble the money with appropriate risk and try to grow.

2) Try trading with altcoins

3) Stock BTC and sell them when cost gets high or buy when low

I think gambling is not included in the gain bitcoin, but rather is playing bitcoin. Because gambling is not effective because we can win and could also lose the 50% respectively. Because if we do not get an automatic bitcoin will lose and lose bitcoin. Maybe it's my opinion.

Well, gambling also one of methods for growing your bitcoin imo. I know it's risky but it's worth if you win though. but if you lose it's really not good lol.

No you can not include gambling in the list because when the chances to raise your bitcoins with that are so that you in fact have a higher chance to lose your bitcoins then it can't be considered an investment or something you would use to grow your bitcoin. No sane person would invest when he does not think that the chance to get his coins back plus more is lower than getting less back than he invested.

I know many gamblers believe they can cheat luck with some system but that's proven wrong. Except there are some gambling games where you can, with much learning, increase your chance to yor favor.

You can't see gambling for the overwhelming part a way to increase your bitcoins because statistically it is a way to decrease your bitcoins.

I think you post so much that you easily would earn more putting such a signature in your signature instead promoting your own website.

Though i think you see it idealistic somehow. Smiley

He gets backlinks for his website by keeping that signature.

Right, didn't think of that at all. It's from a well established and related place with bitcointalk. So it's a good thing for him. I wonder if it has a huge effect. After all the text around it is the same on each page, so might be recognized as advertising by google. Their rating engines are quite smart nowadays.

I'm not sure you thought your statement through isvicre and i hope you don't judge from yourself on others. I surely have no price. Maybe others can live happily after scamming others but i certainly would not be able to.
1504  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [OPEN!] jorjito's computer shop (back in biz) *UPDATE JANUARY 25* on: January 28, 2016, 05:46:42 PM
If anyone has an idea of how to present what we offer in OP - and it will be more than now - please give me some ideas. The present way sucks big time.

Why don't you create a real shop? Would probably be easier to handle orders too. Though you need a good developer so that you know there are no backdoors or similar things implemented.

What do you mean by a real shop...? With it's own domain and an online store? Haven't really crossed my or my partner's mind. This thread was a big step on its own and showed how experienced/stupid we were with online selling instead of selling to friend's friends etc. I guess you'd need a company behind it and taxes and shit? Or semi-anonymous off-shore or a onion site? Hmmm... I think escrow would be a problem: Here, members know the trusted ones

I didn't think about the escrow part, that's right. But a shop can be registered relatively anonymous with private whois. Though sending packages might reveal your identity anyway.

Well, like i said, i did not think it to the end, only thought handling might be easier.
1505  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is EXACTLY where it needs to be right now, what the hell! on: January 28, 2016, 05:29:43 PM
I just don't think bigger blocks is the right answer to it

But there is simply NO way around it if we really want broad adoption. It is, in my eyes, no solution to start to NOT use bitcoin anymore so ofte, like what it means with using lightning network. Segwit is interesting but it seems very limited in it's effect.
1506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is EXACTLY where it needs to be right now, what the hell! on: January 28, 2016, 05:23:34 PM
I'm not sure where you live but sending 100 bucks from one bank account to another costs zero fee in my country. Holding the bank account is free too. So how should i explain why bitcoin needs higher fees now?

It's different when it comes to sending over country borders but rarely i get to know a person that needs to do this regularly.

The other advantage is the speed of course. But how long until we have fees like paypal have?

Where the heck do you get a free bank account in germany? Tongue

Many bank accounts are free in Germany, and some checking accounts even offer you interest rates and other advantages. You even have the right to a bank account in Germany now, even if you are homeless and have no income. Just look around. Use google. With sepa transfers you can send money anywhere in the EU within one day, by default free of charge!

i just did and i have to say i'm not really impressed.
there are only a handful of middle sized banks that offer a free bank account which usually have some kind of drawback.

at the bigger banks you pay in average 10-30++ € pa. depending on your account. ( "Kontoführungsgebühren")

For what do you need a big bank? Because of ATM to get cash? Then check out those banks that are owned by a bigger bank. You can use the atm of the big bank then too. Or search for a bank that is part of the cashpool, which allows you to withdraw for free from many other banks atm too.
1507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is EXACTLY where it needs to be right now, what the hell! on: January 28, 2016, 05:17:55 PM

snip
Recently these past weeks I have seen an increase of negative articles covering some Bitcoin issues relating to transaction speed and fees.
/snip

these articles and coverage are a two fold attack.
first is to make it seem like there's a problem and you shouldn't use bitcoin.
the second more pressing issue is that there should be reform and "fixing" the problems.
the goal of this is to destroy bitcoin as you know it.

nothing good will come out of changing the basic nature of bitcoin.

BITCOIN IS PERFECT JUST AS IT IS!

The basic nature of bitcoin is safety through encryption or 21mio coins max. But surely not an arbitrary setting that everyone knew would have to be taken out at one point in time in order to not hinder adoption.

I wonder how you imagine that satoshi envisioned a widely adopted bitcoin without taking out that temporary spam protection.
1508  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptostocks - BTC,DVC,LTC denominated Stock Exchange/Crowdfunding Platform on: January 28, 2016, 04:58:00 PM
E-Mails still dont work. Still cant withdraw my BTC.  Roll Eyes
just stop using a scammers platform Wink good luck on the btc.

It's in the work though it's hard to do at all since cryptostocks hasn't the best ways to find the shareholders. For example other exchanges created list with shareholders that were sent to the issuer so they can know who owns the shares. But cryptostocks send out email addresses for the shareholders and still you don't know all users because you only have those in the list that allowed the shareholders to see the investors email.

It's not easy.

But that the wallet is offline is pretty bad. Was not the case before. Or is it online again?
1509  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: January 28, 2016, 04:54:11 PM
I don't have many shares but I just finished the form. If I were to get more shares would I need to still buy them on Cryptostocks and fill out the form again with the new number of shares?

No need to do it again since the issuer knows then already the bitcoin address you want it attached to and you were verified by email i guess. So the issuer only needs to check the newest list sent from cryptostocks and will know that something changed and he can adapt.

Again a reminder to shareholders that filled the form. Since there are still 4 users who filled the form, put their bitcoin address and email address in there but did NOT check the email address's inbox. There is an email in the email address inbox that you use for cryptostocks. Check it and answer to it to verify that the real owner of these shares claimed them. That's important!
1510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LuckyBlocks (BONUS) - Including Super Blocks paid out with BTC on: January 28, 2016, 04:22:19 PM
looks like my wallet is forking. can't get any connection and if i redownload the chain, it is always getting 10k blocks only.

somebody nodes?

Maybe an error in the wallet when it is such a special value where it breaks.

Lucky Blocks, can you explain what happened?

Though it seems the error is not for everyone. I wonder what is different for you.
1511  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: January 27, 2016, 11:59:27 PM
Good strategy would be to listen if everyone talking about buying, sell it and opposite!

I think that think those people too that spam the trading subforums with posts like "Bitcoin is doomed" and such. Trying to push the price in the direction they prefer. Doesn't work i think.

And i think it depends who you hear speaking. When the masses start to think it's time to buy then it's likely that it's time to sell actually. The masses lose mostly.
1512  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 27, 2016, 11:57:13 PM
no one is ever going to get any btc back. i would simply like to know what really happened. if FC really was abducted or kidnapped or murdered I think there would be a little more news around it.

a scammer absconding with company funds is not newsworthy in the btc world. it happens to 99% of these start ups.

a btc businessman being murdered or otherwise made to disappear is actually pretty big news.

seeing as there is zero news i can only conclude FC is alive and well and spending the company funds.

i also think he paid off anyone who could actually expose his whereabouts.

i dumped my shares ages ago, so im out, but id love to know where FC is and/or see him face the music.

Someone wrote some post above that the biggest shareholders visited him some time before, or only one of them?, and the poster wrote it might be possible that they got paid to keep calm.

I can't imagine that since it would mean that a lot of big players in the bitcoin world actually would be some form of scammers, getting paid knowing that everyone else will lose everything.

And the miners who were stolen in mongolia? Guess with no existing company now anymore there is no way at all to get them back. Or was that only a cover story?

The only big share holder i know who should know something is Jutural.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=44764

But he never replied to my message (he speaks german btw). So

Why is it hard to imagine that big players in bitcoin are scammers? If you think about it the round table of scamalot is quite crowded.

I know that alot early adopters and such have a strange kind of ethics, examples probably everyone knows, but what i mean is they surely are not all this way. If he met with one shareholder, well, the risk that one person is corrupt is 50-50%. But having to take on 6 or more big shareholders sound like a problem. It's very unlikely that all are corrupt.

Was Jutural running an asicminer pt or was he only a big fish?

In any case, there should be alot big fishes. And nothing is heard of them. Either they work in the background or not at all. Which would be strange. They might have earned more than they lost with asicminer but still.
1513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is EXACTLY where it needs to be right now, what the hell! on: January 27, 2016, 11:52:05 PM
but bitcoin anyway, allow you to move big funds, without anyone breaking your door and asking you why you transfered 10k+ of money, this is a big plus for me

I see what you mean but when the average person on the street is asking you "And for what do i need bitcoin?" then this most likely is not a good argument since it sounds very much like the dark side of bitcoin everyone fears bitcoin for in the real world.
1514  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] MarginBot - A Bitfinex Margin Lending Management Bot on: January 27, 2016, 11:50:22 PM

I am new to Margin Lending Bots, are the users satisfied of MarginBot or is there a better/well-known alternative ?

EDIT After some research I only found those alternatives :
cascadebot: A simple (but effective) lending bot for Bitfinex
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=867103
[ANN] BitfinexLendingBot - A bot for automated lending at Bitfinex
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938362.0
BFX Swapmaster - BitFinex lending automation
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1207664.0

But it either looks scammy or dead.

do you use any of them and btw this margin bot is do the same as autorenew option at bitfinex?

It's not the same as autorenew. With autorenew you might wait a long time until your order gets taken. But margin bot sets your offers so that they are always at places where they will be taken fast and where they will bring the most profit most probably. Try it, it's a nice tool.

In Canada it's $1.50 to send an interac e-transfer, regardless of the amount.  And that's from my "no fee" account, which is in fact free.

Most big banks will only give you free transactions (and a limited number at that) if you keep at least a minimum amount in the account - something like $1000+.

In fact most german banks want a fee if you don't get your payment from job into it each month or something like that. But there are other banks that don't care about that. There the incoming money only has an effect on the automatically calculated size of the dispo credit.

I know the times when transactions would cost a fee but that is long gone.

I believe america might be different because it is the land of credit cards. In germany, or europe generally, credit cards are pretty uncommon. Most don't even have one. I, for example only have a vcc on a website. It's sufficient for when i need a credit card but seldom needed.

Instantly?

Fine.

$10,000+

Still instant?

Didn't try but i would think so or do you think some kind of observation program will start to check where the money comes from? Besides that there are no higher fees for higher transactions that i know of.

You don't have?  Shocked I have one since ages and when you search comparison websites then you will find alot of these banks. Mostly internet banks where you can use atm from other banks or atm that are part of cashpool.

For example i use netbank since years and they are fine. The only disadvantage for me is when i want to put in cheques. I have to mail them to them. Though that did happen only twice in all the time when i received cheques from escrow.com.
1519  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: January 27, 2016, 11:21:23 PM
why no one charges a fixed amount of money? lets say 10$ per transaction or something?

Because it would mean not accepting smaller trades, because you are too expensive, if you would do it for less at all of course. And when it comes to high amounts, would you take one million usd in escrow just for 10USD fee? The risk is way way too high to make sense out of this. So a fixed fee is disadvantageous in both ways.
