2221  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need guidance on cloud mining returns on: May 31, 2018, 10:08:28 AM
Your first mistake was investing into cloudmining at all. You'll be lucky to get your coins out of the site you invested into, as it's most likely a scam and they're currently trying to take as many coins from you as possible right now, and from what I can tell they got you to hand over your wallet private key which means the site has full control over your 1.5 BTC right now. A link to the site would be nice and we could look more into the scam you got yourself into. It's unlikely you'll be able to get anything back, but we can prevent others from falling into the same trap if you link the site here.
2222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem with ASRock h81 Pro Btc 2.0 the HDMI burn? on: May 31, 2018, 01:54:22 AM
The Rev 2 H81 Pro BTCs are going for around $65 used to ~$80 new on eBay and around the same on Newegg. Newegg even has an open box H81 for $66.57 + $1.99 shipping here if you want to try a non new board, near $60 is as low as it gets for these types of boards.
2223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good Sportsbook? on: May 31, 2018, 01:12:31 AM
The only problem is CSGO isn't too popular there, and most matches have a pool of less than 0.01BTC. Sucks if you're making a larger bet, as even just one medium sized bet can completely change the odds of a match.

You could also consider exchanging your BTC to CSGO skins and using them on skin betting sites, but the trade limitations Valve set up a while back may be a problem. I imagine those sites have found ways around that already though.

I'm really surprised nobody has mentioned betonbit.com yet. The Reddit CSGO gambling community speaks well about it, though some people have had to contact support to lift their low daily maximum bet sizes.
That's a nice site actually i just saw that nitrogensports also offers most of the bets i want to bet on the only problem was they open markets one hour before the match is going to start which sucks as sometimes I'm not able to make it on time
Yep, I used to use Nitrogensports quite a bit in the past as well, but I found there were much better alternatives like the site I posted above. It's still a shame so few sportsbooks support crypto-based esports betting as a whole- things could be a lot better if there was more competition and volume for the sportsbooks. HLTV.org (a site listing CS:GO matches and details about them, very helpful for betting) also provides a short list of odds for various sportsbooks like X-bet and Thunderpick, but I have no idea how they are personally.
2224  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is openledger.io. scam? on: May 31, 2018, 12:54:28 AM
Seems legit to me, though the exchange has rather low volume compared to most other exchanges, and the most popular pair on the site seems to be BTC/BTS. Here's a thread from 2015 with a couple articles about them, including one from Forbes. Their ANN thread can be found here.
2225  Economy / Gambling / Re: FLIP - AN OPEN-SOURCE ETHEREUM BASED CARD FLIPPING GAMBLING DAPP (testnet) on: May 30, 2018, 11:17:36 PM
Interesting site, but your link to a KETH wallet in your post is broken as it's marked as a suspicious link on the forums, and the site is rather basic in looks to say the least. Additionally, upon loading the page and not having MetaMask set to Kovan, the link that shows you how to change to Kovan shows 'Demostration' instead of 'Demonstration' (same for the tab under 'Order of Cards', and the background color of the tabs that are 'How to Play', etc are white instead of the blue site background. Still an interesting site nevertheless.
2226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Yobit releases the Bolivarcoin wallet after almost 1 year in maintenance on: May 30, 2018, 11:06:33 PM
If a coin's only listed on Yobit, that's already a sign that it's probably not going to go anywhere, and even if you do trust the coin, I would still not trade on Yobit for any reason or touch it with a ten-foot pole considering the problems that the exchange has with basically every aspect of their site. The day Yobit becomes defunct will be a great day in crypto. There's no excuse for what they're doing, and it's a shame people still go to the exchange even despite all the warnings and bad reviews and complaints about the 'exchange'.
2227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASUS H370 Mining Master - 20GPU MINING FRANKENSTEIN on: May 30, 2018, 03:29:48 PM
I wonder if this board can truly run 20 GPUs for mining or if it's another one of those boards that requires special nVidia mining cards to function at full speed- they mentioned using 8 P104 cards in conjunction with 12 RX 470 cards to reach 20 cards. Either way, interesting board- can't wait to see it actually in action outside of Computex.
2228  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashflare on: May 30, 2018, 03:22:07 PM
Hashflair has changed, they start to betray their costumers and to rip them off.
Today the payout of Bitcoin was 64.9% smaller than from Genesis.
The fact is  that even with the loo price of 60$/TH with this 1 year contract you will not get the money out what you invested. you will get maybe only 41% back of your investment. so don't wast your money and ignore Hashflair.
With this amount what they pay out in the moment, the Bitcoin have to go to ~18800$ that you get your invested money out again, what is unlikely.
Today
Hashflair: 1TH  0.000008783505 BTC
Genesis:   1TH  0.0000250 BTC

Seems no more a very good investment, today's fees are around 80% of the payout!  Undecided Huh Undecided
It was never a good investment in the first place, and this is likely stemming from the fact that as the price of crypto has fallen, they've also started to run out of investors for their 'mining' operations just to keep it afloat. You should not be looking at cloudmining as an investment at all when there's much better alternatives like lending or getting hosted miners out there anyways.
2229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining solo on: May 30, 2018, 10:28:44 AM
The profitability of solomining largely depends on your hashrate, and at the very least you'll face increased variance if you try to solomine (which basically means you might have periods of very long good or bad luck, and variance decreases as hashrate increases). In a perfect world you'd eventually make the same amount solomining as pool mining, but typically it doesn't work like that as variance really can kill solomining sometimes.
2230  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A simple question about wallets. on: May 30, 2018, 10:22:21 AM
If you're looking for security, a hardware wallet or a wallet that is on an airgapped computer is still the best option. I would only store funds you are okay with losing on web wallets, and using them as hot wallets for everyday use- there's many costs to using web and free wallets, and those that aren't official wallets will be blatantly trying to make a profit off of you. People don't just design wallets not-for-profit most of the time, they make wallets to earn money.
2231  Economy / Gambling / Re: | PVP Gambling | ★★ btcraffle.io ★★ | Provably Fair | on: May 29, 2018, 10:18:24 PM
The site is just fine looking at it from my mobile phone, performs just as well and looks similar to the old Bustabit crash gambling site (as it's a pretty popular site script, I have no problems with it, another example is CSGOcrash.com), except for a cut off bar and minimal text cutoff on the 'Login to Play or register' bar. It might just be your device that's causing any issues, works just fine like OP said.
2232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Refurbished cards - are they a good deal? on: May 29, 2018, 04:20:41 PM
From what I have seen recently, the nVidia 1180 card at the least is set to be released sometime in Q3 of this year, and I’m not sure about what the situation is with AMD right now- it depends how well the new generation of cards mine that will determine where GPU prices move from here. If the new cards aren’t good at mining compared to this generation, then prices for the 1000 series cards might just stay where they are now or go up.
2233  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how to make bitpay payment on: May 29, 2018, 03:09:11 PM
They’re simply trying to increase their market dominance or something of the sort by enforcing BIP70 (the protocol that make some the payment addresses so). BitPay gives an explanation along the lines of ‘It’s better for security’, but there’s pretty massive opposition to the BIP as many wallets don’t work with the URLS or QRs generated by BitPay. Searching ‘BitPay BIP70’ yields more information on the topic, and Samourai Wallet’s blog and this reddit post are two good reads on the topic as well.
2234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good Sportsbook? on: May 29, 2018, 10:28:06 AM
I recently started watching csgo and a little bit of Starcraft but I always struggle to find a sportsbook where I can place bets on.
I did try nitrogensports but they just don't have all the matches or the picks available are just which team wins, do guys know any bitcoin sportsbook which is trusted and has a wide choice of e-sports matches.

Don't suggest sportsbet as I hate that site
How about onehash?

It has games for CSGO https://www.onehash.com/category/e_sport/csgo but there's none for starcraft. Very few e-sports games they cover but the one game you preferred is there.

2235  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how to make bitpay payment on: May 29, 2018, 10:07:10 AM
Additionally, it can't hurt to contact sellers that utilize Bitpay as a way to accept BTC to consider alternatives such as BTCPay. It'll be better for all of us in the future if more merchants switch off BTCPay, and it does not take a lot of time to do so. We shouldn't have to use all these tools just to make a BTC transaction because Bitpay forces us to.
2236  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: May 25, 2018, 10:25:48 PM
Additionally, the mobile site is not gone which is a shame because the full site takes quite some time to load and it's extremely laggy on my phone. Rather disappointing since the design of the mobile page was great overall and didn't need any change. Looking at the rest of the site on a desktop, everything looks much better than before, but I just hope the mobile site returns.

Time to switch into a newer phone instead? With a decent connection, I have no problem loading the site to be honest. Im not even a geek with high end smartphone just some decent Samsung Smartphone. If they feel like there isnt much access to the mobile site then it shouldnt be there in the first place because it would be a waste of resources.
It's still inconvenient even if you do have a more powerful phone. I have a Huawei phone I bought a couple months back, and the site not only loads slightly slowly, but popup icons on the site load slowly and the overall experience isn't the greatest- it's just odd to use a full site on a phone as the buttons aren't designed to be used on a mobile device, etc. It shouldn't take too many resources to have a mobile version of the site, and most all digital casinos I know have mobile sites. It'd be great if FortuneJack did too.

I've observed that most of the crime in the area happens near the downtown area of Erie (doing a quick search on Google about the crime rate in Erie confirms this), and you specifically stated that you wanted to stay away from the city, so crime shouldn't be too big of an issue, and natural disasters most likely won't be a big issue here. Most of the area around where I am (I live well outside the city) is very safe, and we rarely have many crimes.
2239  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are the alternatives for Bitcointalk? on: May 24, 2018, 11:48:32 PM
The fact that the r/bitcoin subreddit doesn't actively utilize tags or a sorting system and the fact that you can't really filter out non-serious posts like memes and price updates, etc are the biggest downsides of the subreddit. I still actively use the site as a whole and visit r/bitcoin several times a day, but if you're looking for precise information, bitcointalk is the best way to go. That's not to say that there isn't serious discussion on Reddit (responses on Reddit occasionally are comparable to those found on this forum or stackexchange). News about Bitcoin gets there quicker than on most other mediums, and there's always an abundance of interesting and informative articles every time you go there.

I live in NW PA next to Lake Erie, and we have nice cold winters that are perfect for mining (but lots of lake effect snow... We had a record year anyhow  Smiley), and relatively cheap electrical rates- I get around $0.07/kWh, and it doesn't even usually get too hot during the summer, a nice change from where I previously mined in the South. Housing is also cheap around here last time I checked.
