2242  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Service bulletin: thermaltake 750 rx bronze on: August 31, 2011, 08:09:05 PM
thermaltake isn't considered a great brand. they're mediocre at best, but of course all PSU have high end and budget series. there's only a few thermalke models that i would consider getting, and this is not one of them.
2243  Economy / Goods / Re: BRAND NEW HP TOUCHPAD!!! STILL IN SEALED BOX on: August 31, 2011, 08:03:48 PM
ok this person paid me $100 + shipping for a 1250w PSU, everything was paid for yesterday and money cleared. however, i ran into this thread and i realized that he/she might have paid me with scammed money.

@ Ninja/Hollie/Stefanie: please address all these questions publicly, because a lot of suspicious things tipped me off.

1) the paypal payment you sent me is from Jung Whitley, and it says from paypal that you're unverified. the email associated with this paypal account is z3rohourx@gmail.com. why is your account unverified, and why is your name on paypal different than all other forum, ebay, dwolla accounts?

2) you said to check your feedback on ebay user "stars_20_05". can you prove to me this is really you? send me an email from that ebay account.

3) why did you request for me to buy you a PSU from newegg with my credit card and you give me that exact amount in paypal/BTC/dwoll? why can't you just buy it yourself with your own credit card? and from your post history, it seems like you can't directly buy things from newegg, you either need to do it through gift cards or have someone else do it for you. why? is it because you don't have a real address or credit card?

4) your dwolla profile info might be the only real info from all this. name under the account is Stefanie Andrea, address is 1302 Billings Dr. San Antonio, TX 78245. why does this not match with any other accounts?

5) why do you have several accounts on here? and why did you have to change your account name from "ninja" to "hollie"?

if you sent me stolen money, papal and dwolla might take the money back from me and return it to the rightful owners. and because of this, i'm not going to ship your item, unless you answer all those questions i asked and clear all the inconsistencies, as well as ship all items people bought from you in this thread and all your other threads. your PSU is already packaged up and ready to ship, just clear all these problems and i'll send you your item.
2244  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] MSI R5850 Twin Frozr II - 9 BTC on: August 31, 2011, 06:41:21 PM
The investigation proved that there was no evidence that he was a scammer.

so what kind of "investigation" did you guys do? if the guy got the BTC, did not ship the item, and never returned to say a single thing, it's pretty obvious. what did you guys have to investigate, and how did you do it?
2245  Economy / Goods / Re: USER: THYDUDE IS IN THE HOSPITAL. on: August 31, 2011, 07:41:35 AM
i really don't understand the point of this thread. if he's going to scam someone, why make another excuse to say hes in the hospital? he already has everyone's money, the intentions are already there, why make this thread? i really hope scumbags like this do end up with a seizure later on for the karma.
2246  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Highest Possible Megahash per Dollar Card - 5770 @ $50 on: August 31, 2011, 01:50:08 AM
all open box items have quantities of only a few... that's why it's hard to see them in stock for a long time.
2247  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / *Official* Hardware Deals thread on: August 30, 2011, 10:15:23 PM
i frequently see people posting deals scattered all over different sections of the forum, so i'm going to make this thread to consolidate all the deals on here. i'll try updating this thread daily with new deals, and old deals that are either expired or OOS (out of stock) will be crossed out, but i'll leave the link so you can click on it in case it does come back in stock.

2248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How does Mt. gox sell the BTC's they've earned? on: August 30, 2011, 07:34:27 PM
whether they sell the BTC on their own exchange site, hold,  or sell it to bitomat, who cares?? it's their money, they're entitled to do whatever they want with it. no one cares what you do with your money/coins
2249  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Trays for miners on: August 30, 2011, 03:16:33 AM
these look great. but i think it would be better to just post price for each of your form factors. that's better than everyone PM'ing you to ask the same question.
2250  Economy / Goods / Re: Video Cards Wanted - See Outlined Deal in this Post. on: August 30, 2011, 02:59:45 AM
c0op3r, put youself in the sellers shoes. should i do a normal sell to someone and get the money right away? or should i just ship the card to someone with 9 posts and have absolutely no reputation, and if you were legit, i would get full payments months after i gave you the card? in these months, i could have just used the cards to mine some of the BTC myself, while still being able to keep the cards after these months.

c'mon now... if you want the video cards, front the money.
2251  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: what is the best rig design, today, for the most mh/s per dollar? on: August 30, 2011, 02:41:02 AM
i think this is pretty much the best:

6x 5830 (6x $130)
MSI 890fxa-gd70 ($180)
sempron 140 ($40)
2gb memory ($20)
flash drive/HD ($10)
2x 700w PSU (2x $70)
6x pci-e risers (6x $15)

total: ~$1260

with each card at around 300mh/s, you'll get 1.43mhs/dollar. this is with brand new parts, but it really depends on your overclocks and if you can get deals on the parts.
2252  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Going to purchase a used 5770, any way to test prior? on: August 30, 2011, 02:00:15 AM
if it's legit, $50 is one hell of a deal. but people on craigslist are shady as hell. one time i sold tickets, and got fake $100 bills, and didn't realize it until i deposit it at the bank  Angry. then a few weeks ago, i tried to buy a 5870, and the bitch tried to hustle me and brought out a 5770 instead. he pealed the sticker that marked which kind of card it was, and i told him why he peeled it off. he told me it was starting to rip, so he just peeled the whole thing off. i told him it was also too short to be a 5870, and only had 1 power connector, all 5870s have 2 6-pin power connectors. i obviously didn't buy it.

it's a good deal, but just be wary of the legitimacy of people meeting in local places like this. i'm not sure how u can just bum electricity off mcdonalds though.
2253  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Going to purchase a used 5770, any way to test prior? on: August 30, 2011, 01:32:24 AM
no easier way to know other than stress testing it. btw, if you're meeting at mcdonalds, how are you bringing your computer to test it? are you also bringing a UPS to provide mobile power?

if the 5770 is exactly the same brand and model, then you won't have to install drivers. otherwise, your motherboard will recognize it as a different GPU and try to reinstall the drivers.
2254  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: If you could design a custom graphics card.. on: August 29, 2011, 08:16:10 PM
dual GPU cards, 1600 stream processors or more per GPU, 64mb memory clocked between 200-300mhz, pci-e x1 (intead of x16), and reference type coolers.

dual GPU cards are the most efficient in terms of space and power because they share the components on the board, like memory, vrm's, and such. majority of hardware mining performance is based on stream processors, currently the highest is 1600sp from the 5870, so either match this amount or higher. the upcoming 7000 series cards will have a 28nm die shrink, so they should be able to fit more stream processors in the same amount of space. mining does not use a lot of video memory, so as little as possible while still being operation. i think 64mb is a good medium. lower memory clocks helps with temperature and power consumption. and lastly, with reference coolers, there's directional flow of the heat. it all gets exhausted to the rear (or out to the back of the case if it's enclosed), where as non reference type of coolers blow heat in all directions. when you stack these in a mult-GPU setup, they use each other's heat, and usually the top card always has the highest temps.

btw janathan, are you still mining with those 6950 setup you showed me? or are you done with that "experiment" and only hosting Bitcoinduit now?
2255  Economy / Goods / Re: USER: THYDUDE IS IN THE HOSPITAL. on: August 29, 2011, 04:22:34 AM
also its very funny to me because Thymos scammed stefanie andrea out of a touchpad,,, and stefanie is the account of another scammer here... a scammer scamming a scammer.

the irony
wait... how did you jump to this conclusion? please clarify, because i have a open deal right now with this stefanie person...
2256  Economy / Goods / Re: [confirmed] SCAMMER: user Leon on: August 27, 2011, 10:59:33 PM
i'm still out over $800 and still have not gotten a penny back yet. i also updated the first post to consolidate the evidence as well as all his personal info i found
2257  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Stable open air rigs on: August 27, 2011, 06:23:03 PM
Ok sounds good - how much do you think it will be for materials + work?
hmm if i do it without the base that holds the PSU, then maybe $50 to include material and work? this would mean the motherboard will be on the very bottom and you can put the PSU to the left or right of the motherboard. making it 3 layers like in mine takes way too much time for me.

Thanks but I'm looking for something more in the $75 range (ideally).

I like what Detritus built here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=29729.0

Anyone selling those?
lol that one he made costs $100 in materials alone. i don't think you'll find one at $75, unless someone is looking to lose money with free labor  Wink
2258  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: ATTN: Those seeking 5830/5850 cards... on: August 27, 2011, 04:51:30 PM
there's only a few 5830s available to choose from, and they only have one or two in stock of each one, and these are sold by other resellers that go through amazon, it's not directly from amazon. consistent supply means that they should be able to have enough so you can buy mass supplies from them, not just one or two.

i would love to think amazon has a bunch of these left, but just accept that fact that these cards are all but dried up by now.
2259  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: had a friend who wanna sell me this 5870, how much hash? on: August 26, 2011, 06:38:03 AM
400mh/s is a good number after a mild overclock. with max overclock, it can reach around 450mh/s, but this is not something easy to do.
2260  Economy / Goods / Re: Want Small Thumbdrive (1 gb, 512 mb) for .05 BTC on: August 26, 2011, 06:33:03 AM
lol just go buy one. no one is going to do you a favor while losing money at it. you really that cheap? you're paying less than 50cents, and shipping costs more than that.
