When it gets back to $2 I'll call it a crash.
2242  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficuly increase due in 2 hours.... Will kill a few miners off on: December 10, 2013, 10:39:24 AM
What are you talking about?  I'm paying $0.33 per KWh and I still have a crappy BFL 60GH/s single mining at my house.  It doesn't go negative until around Feb or March.

The only miners that might be dropping off would be a few stubborn FPGA miners who were mining at a loss... their measly output is noting compared to the current 8PH/s.

We will not be seeing miner attenuation for a few more months unless the owners are "confuzzled"
2243  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New and big difficulty change, how it will affect cex.io Ghs value? on: December 10, 2013, 10:32:47 AM
every ~ 2k or so blocks, average 14 days? Numbers just off the top of my head please correct me if I am wrong.

Every 2016 blocks, which if there is no network growth (+ or -) would be every 14 days.  Since the network has been averaging about 30% growth per cycle for the last 1/2 year, it's been closer to every 10 days.

Even worse for 110V with crappy wiring - no hope of running a Naptune

2247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io on: December 10, 2013, 05:16:01 AM
I doubt CEX.IO was hacked.  Mostly likely the user had the same pw and email from this forum and after the man in the middle attack didn't switch passwords.

If you're going to store coins online somewhere, turn on 2FA, and use difficult passwords that you don't use anywhere else.
2248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2 cards with different settings on cgminer on: December 09, 2013, 11:20:16 AM
I don't use it myself, but I think you just have to put a comma and then enter the value for the next device afterwards.

since worksize and gap are same, you can just keep that the same, but for intensity do "-I 16,18"

See this guy's bat for example:

So that's why all the R9 280Xs are sold out Tongue
2250  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: computer restart for no reason - suspect PSU problem on: December 09, 2013, 10:19:52 AM
I'm assuming you're doing scrypt coins.  Just clock everything to 0.9x multiplier the current value, but keep voltages the same.  If it's stable like that then you're clocking too high.

I would suspect the PSU only if it resets when the PSU is warmer like mid-day since it will draw more watts at that time.  My 4 card rigs would swing 50 watts depending on the time of day.
2251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2 cards with different settings on cgminer on: December 09, 2013, 10:13:06 AM
Posted this in the mining support forum, but haven't gotten a reply so was wondering if one you kind fellows could give me a hand

I had a mining rig with a 7850 in it, now I added a R9 290, I have different settings for each card... what is the best way to get this to work in cgminer

can I do -d 0 then 1st card settings then -d 1 2nd card settings

or

2 seperate bat files and run 2 instances of cgminer at once?

You can either do a "," and specify settings for both cards within 1 batch file, or make 2 batch files and specify each device individually. Personally I prefer the later because if I need to use the machine I can just slow down or shut off the display card much more quickly.
2252  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How long have you been mining & what is your current hash rate? (+ bonus Q's) on: December 09, 2013, 10:09:49 AM
started on 10/2012 with 3x 7970. just use as heater, I have water cooling so its quiet. In several month I found that profitable. upgraded to 10+ 7970 and several 7870s.
Now I have 1.2THs in bitcoin and almost 20Mhs in litecoin.
Draws about 20Kw

Is your 1.2TH/s just in video cards or is there an asic under the floorboards somewhere?

The largest GPU farm ever built would not be able to even approach 1.2TH/s (back when it was GPU and FPGA the network was only about 15TH/s).  Pretty sure all his cards are on Litecoin.  Bitcoin is left only to ASICs now.
2253  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Skyminer i just order PCie need help [possible scam] on: December 08, 2013, 10:55:46 AM
The "fact" that he order 2 weeks prior to the website being created should be all the information that is needed to label this as

SCAM

The only question now is will he drop it or will he make another 2 day old account and sockpuppet and defend this poor Avi99s guy
2254  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAMMER] 50BTC.com on: December 08, 2013, 10:30:53 AM
I doubt the validity of most of them numbers being thrown out here.  I'm sure there are a few who lost coins in the double or tripple digits, but I doubt it's newly registered November and December 2013 bitcointalk users.

Most of the heavy hashers are older members, then again they would also know not to use the pool as a piggybank.

I think people are posting the corrupted database numbers.  By that record I am owed about 180+ coins, but in reality I think I had less than 0.1 on there as it was my failover pool.
2255  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How often do you restart the computer your mining on? on: December 08, 2013, 10:11:02 AM
I never need to restart, unlike there is a power cut in my area. I am running Linux.

Which flavor?

It's a joke.   Doing so would be asking for combustion.

2258  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How fast will a BFL 50GH/s ship? on: December 08, 2013, 09:48:09 AM
BFL 50GH/s miner is obsolete, and it may take over a year before you get it.

No it isn't, and no it won't.

At it's current BFL price it is obsolete.
2259  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How often do you restart the computer your mining on? on: December 08, 2013, 09:42:42 AM
about every 3 weeks, cgminer just hang for no reason....

Set cgminer to auto restart every week

It's true that some people were really greedy, which In-fact I think some of those who purchased the Q1 Q2 of the upcoming Avalon neptune series Is already looking to resell it rather than making good use of it... Well It hurts for people who're getting in to mining crypto-currency and do not currently have a rig on their hand.. and sad truth for me as well .. those re-seller ain't gonna stop.

Avalon is a vile repugnant corrupt company.

KNC makes the Neptune
