Spam and self referral links are not allowed or are frowned upon.  Especially for new users who will click anything they see as a hyperlink until they find out they just let in a backdoor.

The smoothest talkers in the recent past have been Reagan (the zipper, the great communicator) and Clinton (the great unzipper, Oxford trained).  Bush, while you may love or hate him, would be able to carry a conversation with you without pausing.  He had gaffes like the "fool me once" line, but we all do stupid stuff now and then.  Obama slipped up once and said 57 states.  Am I going to fault him for that one misstep - no, he may not have slept all night worrying about some crisis unbeknownst to us.  He cannot, however, speak as smoothly as George Bush.

Watch this youtube video about AFO:

It's not particularly political.  Bush talks more or less like an average guy.  Obama tries to smooth talk you like he's trying to pick you up at a bar.  Obama says "uh" about 31x more often as Bill Clinton (have to find this citation).

Is it just me, or some people spend their time on completely inconsequential things? I mean, what difference does it make if he says "uh" more often than someone else? Shouldn't people be worrying about finding out where these guys stand on issues and where their funds come from before electing them, instead of worrying about how cool they are/look/sound/whatever? Someone once compared selling candidates to selling any other product on the market, and I guess he was right; avoid the issues and just focus on presenting a pleasant face so people will buy it.

The sad part is you read my post without looking at what I replied to.  Does the word context mean anything to you? Please look at the quote to which I responded to.   That's the one judging people by how eloquent they are.

Did you take any meaning from my post.  Look I don't care if they have to use sign language or grunt like apes if they're capable of thinking like Stephen Hawkings.  Unfortunately, the leaders we have had as of late make great apes look more intelligent.

No winners in this conflict.

We didn't start the fire,
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning.
We didn't start the fire,
But when we are gone
It will still burn on, and on, and on, and on.
1465  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anonymous has a message for all the mega-banks who've oppressed us on: June 29, 2014, 04:54:50 AM
We are anonymous.

We are legion.

We do not forgive and we do not forget.

Expect us.

We will still Occupy.

We will sit unshowered in parks.

We will get high on illicit drugs.

We will chant pointless slogans.

We will rape and steal from other people in our "movement."

We will accomplish nothing but wasting time and money belonging to an all ready over taxed group of people with jobs.

We will have people like Kanye West who wears $400 T-shirts and drives $1 million dollar armored SUVs march with us

We will cost cities millions of dollars of tax payer funded clean-up of our refuse because apparently mother nature doesn't have room service in the park

We will cost cities million of dollars in police overtime - money that could have been spent reducing crime

We will riot in the streets destroying the storefronts of thousands of small businesses to show our frustration towards the mistreatment of the little guys (like who people who.....run small businesses).

Not sure if Anonymous wants to tie into these guys.

Man if the Earth is hollow I'm going down there right now.  Time to grab some prime Beach front property and squat on it.  Wait, will global warming alter the insides too?  Huh
1467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IRS claims it has LOST two years' worth of emails from former official Lerner on: June 29, 2014, 04:45:14 AM
We're making progress....my ass.

The very government that he believes can unite and lift the American people out of poverty, racial strife and lower quality of living can't even follow it's own guidelines for how to maintain data.  I'm not asking the IRS to go above and beyond.  How come they can't be held to the same standards as a small business with 50 employees.

Dereliction of duty...progress in his eyes.
So what do you read into this, and how do we move forward?

There will be a lot of people who think the problems are Obama-centric, so they will vote for non-Obama Democratic presidential candidates.

There will be people who think the problem is Democrats, and that they will solve the problem by voting Republican.

There will be people who think the problems are with organized criminal activity in DC which have corrupted both major parties.

Then finally, there are people who think that it is deeper than that and involves power shifts between the NSA and various agencies, including the US, and these work with politicians who they favor and who favor them.

Personally I believe the problem is a totally corrupt administration and this originates with Obama, but that it could well continue and get worse under the next administration if that was Democrat.

But I am not positive...

Unfortunately I think the cancer is too entrenched into the body of American politics.  Either it will take some serious surgical resection from a true reformist (who would be obstructed at every step) or the next puppet will be placed in by his party - parties that oppose each other but are funded by the same superpowers.  I live in California, and the supermajority belongs to Democrats - Republics don't have 1 major office in this state.  And yet big oil, large corporations like Coca Cola, and huge SuperPACs find themselves spending insane amounts of money.  They're fighting over power within "themselves".

You can't fix the problem is Americans look the other way.  The day they know the words to the Preamble or the Gettsyburg address rather than their favorite new popsong maybe things will change.  With "democracy" you get the government you deserve (problem is we're more like an oligarchy now).

To be fair, the United States should be very tolerant of countries which send aircraft into other countries to shoot at people.

But the U.S. is not really much into fairness, justice, or liberty.

The U.S. is dumb thug muscle for global banksters.

Did the US kill your family or something?  I sense much hate in you.  Fear, anger, hate, darkside.....

1470  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why do Difficulty increases feel like being ass raped?? on: June 29, 2014, 03:42:53 AM
soon prices will rise to account for the rise in difficulty, just hold on tight.  Cool

Ridiculous. There is absolutely no correlation between mining difficulty and BTC exchange rate.

Prices may have correlated early on when more that 1/2 the people buying coins were miners, but now the market is so diverse that the two have separated.  The price could tank to $10 and most miners would probably continue to mine for a short time considering the ASIC is a sunk investment cost as opposed to GPUs.
1471  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Buying a Bitcoin Miner on: June 29, 2014, 03:37:28 AM
An R-Box is going to earn a whopping $0.63 per day for the next 11 or 12 days before it drops again. You should have a positive ROI in...

Never.

Well one thing to note for new people... we commonly refer to ROI as basically getting your money back.  If you spend $25 on a miner, you expect to make back at least $25.  But there's no point doing it other than to support the network if you don't make some profit.

ROI should be considered as making BTC net positive.... meaning you earn more BTC mining than you would buying coins.  Currently this is not possible with any of the miners.

You may be able to make more fiat if BTC prices go up, but ultimately buying coins seems like the more sound investment currently... hence the quoted truthful statement.
1472  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Need some advice on getting started on: June 28, 2014, 09:12:39 PM
A week is nowhere near enough time spent researching to throw down a couple grand on a miner.

Correct me if I'm wrong buy my understanding is that you want to mine to make money. Unfortunately you will be disappointed.

Btcmining is like goldmining. The first few people to do it made a killing but after the gold rush was in full effect it became profitable to almost nobody. And similar to gold mining today, without the most efficient, industrial operations, it is very hard to turn a profit.

All ROI calculators are trash but bitcoinx is especially shitty. Use bitcoinwisdom or btcinvest for a slightly more reasonable guestimation. My estimations show that an sp30 delivered in august will earn about $3800 back in 6 months.(no ROI)

Also never preorder hardware. Time and time again it has proven to be very high risk with nearly no reward if you do manage to turn a profit.

If you insist on mining asap I would recommend any usb miner or even an rbox to get started and familiarized with mining.

After you've been mining for a month or two and fully understand how unprofitable it is, then and only then should you consider spending a more serious amount of money on hardware.

Btcinvest calculator did in fact show a better break down and almost absolutely no ROI. I appreciate your advice and it did share some light into the topic. I should have noted that I have a pretty good job, I was just looking at doing something on the side. Again thank you everyone for the advice.

Mining is just one way to acquire BTC.  Ultimately you should decide what is the fastest and cheapest way for your to acquire BTC.  Mining has a fun factor associated with it, but if you like your job you could try to offer your services for BTC.
1473  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free unlimited electricity... where to start? on: June 28, 2014, 09:06:01 PM
Hello!
IMO every newbie to mining should start mining altcoins and study how it works and then mine BTC or any profitable coins but remember, more profit the coin is, more difficult to mine it
Kindly,
        Muhammed Zakhir

When you refer to newbie, are you talking about yourself?  When multicoin pools switch coins they pick the one that has a lower difficulty relative to it's price.  I think you're a little confused  Shocked
Yeah! Multicoin pools like eobot mine profitable coins. What I said was when you mine using your own hardware it will be difficult to mine more profitable coins like BTC & LTC as their difficulty are high and are rising now too! You misunderstood what I said. Smiley
Kindly,
        Muhammed Zakhir

OK I understand what you meant.  Yes it will be more difficult, but as long as it's the more profitable coin it's worth it.  Would you climb 1 flight of stairs for $1 or 3 flights of stairs for $20?

That's a nice question. But for a newbie I don't think they can afford a good miner. Without a good miner, it would be useless mining profitable coins nowadays. So I just suggested mining less profitable coins and they can buy good miners later. In this way they can get some money and they can study all thing about mining too. Smiley

Kindly,
        Muhammed Zakhir

Yes, currently no home miners doing it casually can have a significant part of the network.  This ended when the GPU phase died.

But getting 0.001 of a $1000 coin is the same as 1 of a $1 coin.  It just makes the person holding 1 whole coin feel better sometime.  As we get used to decimals and microBTC people will get over that.

Does this mean the US will take military action against Canada?  Tongue

In all seriousness, this is a pretty absurd.
The border issue is getting worse by the year...

We need to treat the cause rather than the symptom.

The solution isn't build a wall or a fence. Nuking them will solve the problem long term.

Well those drug cartel leaders are harder to kill than cockroaches so I don't think nuking them would fix anything.  Central America would just pick up their bags and wonder where everybody went and why it's so dusty.

Why is this thread so popular?  Grin  People looking for easy money.

Amazon has a couple of good reads on betting systems, I read one on the way to Vegas once and laughed.

If you want to win, find a casino off the strip and play single or double deck blackjack.

I am no longer allowed to gamble at Bellagio or it's affiliates, I'll just leave it at that  Grin

Bitcoin gambling went on fire, that's why it's popular. Can you explain why you are banned from Bellagio ? Do they use only 4 sets of cars for Blackjack?

When I was younger they used to have single to quad deck tables.  It's very easy to count.  Obviously you need to be quick with the math, but it comes with practice.  I am still allowed to stay there, I just can't get a rewards card from Hilton and I am effectively banned from the higher tables.

It's OK though, craps has pretty good odds as long as you're not playing snake eyes or something like that.
1477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: June 28, 2014, 08:02:30 AM
It really depends on you going to spend your time if you don't spend it on BitCoin faucets. I prefer my friend to do faucets then to play Dota 20 hours a day.

I agree.  I have over 1500 hours of DOTA playtime on my steam account.  If I had spent that time on faucets to click once per hour (easy to do). I would have had 0.01500000 BTC.  If I had spent those BTC on Blackcoin when they were 1000 satoshi each and sold them @ 90000 during the massive peak I would have 1.35000000 BTC.

Faucets are worth it if you save up and invest in trading on promising coins.  Wink

Yes well if you walked outside of banks and supermarkets looking for change you could find $15 worth in 1 day (which is more than 0.015BTC) and if you put that into AAPL or Google stock in 2005 you would own more than 1.35BTC.

Can't live in the past.  Just alter future behavior.  How much is your time worth?

I fixed that for you.  You're always so happy to fly... can't you find happiness down here on the ground?

Whatever.  You can't argue with stubborn.  I have diabetics who tell me that they feel better when their blood sugar is at 400 as opposed to 100 so they don't take the metformin which I prescribe 3 times.

My wife saw a case of measles here in Southern California 3 months ago - yeah not a good sign.  I see TB every month here - and it was pretty much gone 3 decades ago.
