2241  Economy / Economics / Re: Cause of Covid Vaccine and it's Value on: December 14, 2020, 11:37:16 AM
Government needs to shoulder this amount for those who lives around poor nations, as they are just surviving from day to day
and unable to add this up for another expense.

Obviously in almost all the nations, the government is going to pay for the vaccine and the public will get shots for free. But then it comes to the affordability of the governments. There are several types of vaccine, and the price tag ranges from $3 per dose to $39 per dose. Considering the fact that two doses are required per individual, vaccinating a single person can cost $6 to $78. Now add the transportation cost and expenses of the medical staff. The poorer nations will obviously go for cheaper, less effective vaccines, while the developed nations will go for vaccines from Pfizer, Sputnik V and Moderna, which are more than 95% effective.
2242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptopia Claim without KYC on: December 14, 2020, 11:15:25 AM
I'm kind of lost. Do you mean that we can now reclaim our fund in cryptopia? I had some funds on the exchange before the hack news which lead to the liquidation of the platform. I have actually Written off that money and it would be great to have a refund back. Please how can I apply for a refund?

I had an account with Cryptopia and I don't even remember the email that I used. Fortunately I had withdrawn most of my BTC before the exchange went down. But still I lost LTC worth around $400. I checked their website and it is saying that the liquidation process is still ongoing. There are no details given on how to recover the funds. The latest communication that I could get hold was this one:

2243  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest threats to the price of Bitcoin. on: December 14, 2020, 11:02:09 AM
In my opinion the biggest threat of the price of Bitcoin is just the volatility of it and we all know we cannot predict the tomorrow for bitcoin but as strong as adoption is still growing, bitcoin will last long enough to see the full adoption we are aiming for since it started. We are currently in the $19k mark and I believe we will hit that ATH soon.

The prices are hovering around $18,000-$19,000 range for the last few weeks and despite overwhelmingly promising projections, the $20,000 level is proving to be a tough nut to crack. Now I don't have much expectation for 2020, as we can expect a sell-off during the last few weeks of this month, when people look for funds to manage their winter vacations.
2244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev - JOSHUA WINS IN ROUND 9 on: December 14, 2020, 10:42:02 AM
Outstanding performance by AJ from start to finish. He controlled the fight from the first bell, I hope we soon get the fight everybody wants to see, AJ vs Fury to unify the heavyweight division.

It wasn't a one sided match, but still Kubrat Pulev was no match for Anthony Joshua. I have a feeling that Tyson Fury would be able to give a tougher challenge to Joshua. But previous attempts to schedule a match between the two ended up with nothing, and right now Fury seems to be quite busy with his trilogy fight against American fighter Deontay Wilder.
2245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 14, 2020, 10:23:06 AM
Sad to observe how this total miss match, where the winner is 99,99% already known get more attention than any other professional boxing or sports event. I'm sure that this exhibition fight will get more PPV than the fight between two legends like Tyson vs RJJ.

Why even someone find this interesting to watch, when this fight will end in first round with the punch to the liver or 1-2 combination?

Did you watched the KSI vs. Logan Paul match or the subsequent KSI vs. Logan Paul II? Those fights were also exhibition matches between amateurs, but they reported millions in PPV buys and gate collection alone amounted to millions of USD. The first fight was reported to be the "largest non-professional boxing match of all time", in terms of revenue and viewership. So it doesn't matter whether the results are known or not. There is still a lot of interest from the viewers.
2246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cambodia enacts new laws related to gambling. on: December 13, 2020, 01:38:04 PM
In the first place not all gambling site is legal, still there are some of them are not. When it comes to tax percentage 4% and 7% is much lower compared into other nations anyway. At least in Cambodia it was already regulated and legally operational aside from that it was a great news to all gamblers there too.

I am not sure about this claim. As far as I now, the range given in the article (4% to 7%) is actually on the higher side. It is still a lot better than banning the gambling industry and driving it underground (just like what the Indian government has done). But if they want to attract foreign gamblers, then they should lower the tax rates, to make them attractive for the Chinese and the other foreign nationals.
2247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government don't accept Bitcoin. on: December 13, 2020, 01:32:09 PM
Our country government don't accept bitcoin. If anyone use bitcoin and know it state police Caught him and give punishment. But i like bitcoin. How can i use it? And I want to explain that bitcoin is not bad for me. How can i successfully explain?

As long as you don't use your bank account to trade in cryptocurrency, the government will be unable to find out whether you own any cryptocurrency or not. But then the question comes how can you purchase cryptocurrency, without using your bank account. There are several methods, but they involve additional markup. One method is to use peer-to-peer platforms (where KYC is not required) to exchange gift cards (which you can purchase with your bank account or credit card) for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Another method is to send funds (in fiat currency) to some intermediary outside your country. He will purchase cryptocurrency and send it back to you.
2248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Rallied by 91% In The Last Month on: December 13, 2020, 01:26:06 PM
Nothing more than pump. We will see big dump after. XRP history repeats itself, check the chart

If you check the historical charts for XRP for the last few years, this will be clear. XRP has always behaved like this, since it is a highly manipulated coin. The prices would go up suddenly, stay there for a few days and then fell back to the previous levels (or even lower). This time, the prices peaked at 3,800 Satoshis and then fell back to 2,650 Satoshi. And I am expecting it to fall back to the pre-rally levels (1600-1700 Sat) within a month or two.
2249  Economy / Economics / Re: Is corona virus crisis changing economical equations around the world? on: December 13, 2020, 01:20:09 PM
Economical: Disaster.
Political: Will give rise to populist parties.

I agree with the first part, to an extent. But let's not forget the fact that in most of the affected nations, the economy is recovering despite the increasing number of new cases and deaths from the pandemic. And secondly, a number of populist politicians and parties have lost as a result of the pandemic. The best example is that of Donald Trump. He could have easily won the POTUS 2020 elections, if the pandemic was not there.
2250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 13, 2020, 01:14:40 PM
Are people gonna actually bet on this fight? Because you won't really see an equal matchup here and obviously Mayweather and Paul are doing this for money purposes and maybe added fame for Logan Paul which he actually really really like. The only way to stop this two from earning money from their useless ways of facing each other is for us to actually not watch them. I myself personally didn't knew about the Nate Robinson vs. Jake Paul match up not until I saw the vid where Robinson was put to sleep. IMO don't add to the noise people are giving for this people especially don't bet on this kind of shit.

Both the players have huge fan base and it is a fact that millions of them will watch this fight on PPV, irrespective of whether it is competitive or not. To be frank, I don't think that Logan Paul may survive a single round against Floyd Mayweather. But then, this is an exhibition fight and Mayweather may go easy against Paul. He also need to make sure that the fight lasts for at least 5-6 rounds.
2251  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: December 13, 2020, 01:01:40 PM
Why you say next year 2021 bitcoin and other cryptocurrency not good move I don't understand why you say that. I see very bull run waiting upcoming year 2021 bitcoin and other crypto. Now crypto market condition so good

Everyone believes that there will be a huge bull rally in 2021 and a lot of the whales have started accumulating coins. And this is what makes me nervous. If something goes wrong, then we may witness a massive dump of coins in the open market, and this can take Bitcoin back to four-digits. And this has happened many times before in the cryptocurrency market.
2252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] 2020, your last chance of owning 1 BTC on: December 13, 2020, 12:55:20 PM
I was close on having 1BTC this early year 2020, but sadly this COVID pandemic hit my country really hard that I was forced to withdraw most of my bitcoin holding and use it for daily and monthly expenses for me and my family, well I don't regret it because it is for my family and thankfully I still have some on hold.

You should not be too disappointed. At least the prices were on the higher side for 2020, when compared to 2018/2019. So you might have got a good price, when you sold your coins. And we never know in which direction the price will move. When a bull run occur, users ignore the possibility of a correction and believe that it is going to last for ever. And when the correction kicks in, they will come under panic and sell their coins at a loss.
2253  Economy / Economics / Re: Cause of Covid Vaccine and it's Value on: December 13, 2020, 12:43:12 PM
39$ here is worth 4 days of minimum wage here so I think it's still affordable. And I think the government will handle the cost first, then they will pass it to their citizens to pay it for some months.

There are different versions of the COVID 19 vaccine and there is a large variation in their price. And in most of the developing nations (as well as some of the developed nations), the government will pickup the price tag and the citizens don't need to pay anything. Two of the most effective vaccines are costly, with the Moderna vaccine costing around $75 for two doses and the one from Pfizer costing around $40. The one from Sinovac (China) also costs around $60 for two doses. The Sputnik V vaccine of Russia is a bit cheaper, with a price tag of $18-$20 for two doses. These vaccines have an efficiency of around 95%.

But most of the developing nations will prefer less effective vaccines, which are cheaper and easier to transport. The one from Oxford-AstraZeneca costs only around $8 for two doses and it has an efficiency of around 60%-70%.
2254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 13, 2020, 12:37:19 PM
First Iyer has to cement his spot in the Indian squad, he's still not regular player in the limited overs cricket. I feel that Rohit should get the chance in the short format, even if its for 2-3 years. He has a temperament to guide players likes Shreyas, Gill or overall team, one of them might end up leading India in the near future.

I agree. Iyer is a future prospect, but he hasn't achieved enough maturity. And I don't think that he can effectively captain a side, which comprises of senior players such as Kohli, Dhawan, Agarwal, Shami, Bumrah, Sharma.etc. Captaining the national team is much more difficult when compared to captaining the Delhi Capitals. BTW, I was not that happy with his captaincy record for Delhi Capitals either.
2255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH 2.0 has still no Effect on ETH price on: December 13, 2020, 12:31:23 PM
Yes, throwing away ETH at this point is a mistake, because there are already many people who are willing to stock it up for the sake of getting a big profit next year, although that is not certain, but some of the people I asked, they on average hold ETH very tightly and some just use it for trading.

We should not forget the fact that ETH prices have gone up by quite a lot so far in 2020. During the beginning of the year, it was trading at around BTC0.018 per coin, and now the prices have increased to around BTC0.030. Most of this price rise can be attributed to the hype surrounding ETH 2.0. It is clear that ETH has gone up much more than BTC during this year and that makes it much more riskier to invest in Ethereum at this point.
2256  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: December 13, 2020, 12:25:17 PM
Yes, the way PayPal does crypto dealings is quite different. I hope those newbie users from their platform will not be disappointed on how they are introduced with crypto, and think that it is how crypto dealings is done. But it is a good introduction for them, and they may later on realize that crypto transaction outside PayPal is way better. So bottomline, it is already a good introduction for them.

It's true. Few of the experienced users are using PayPal for dealing with their cryptocurrency. But for those people who have faced difficulty in purchasing and holding cryptocurrency on their own, PayPal provides a good alternative. When the use cryptocurrency through the PayPal platform, they don't need to worry about the legality or security, as PayPal is responsible for these aspects.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: December 13, 2020, 12:19:21 PM
things like that are very interesting and good, because the person applies a good and detailed savings system. I think not everyone can do that because it takes a long time and patience

While investing in various stocks and mutual funds, it is possible to have a SIP system (Systematic Investment Plan). You can just specify the amount that you want to invest and the broker will do the rest for you. But such things are not possible with cryptocurrency, as you need to do everything on your own. And when this method is not automated, there is always the possibility that emotions will come to interfere and at some point you will deviate from the fixed plan.
2258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be Emotional, Don't be Greedy on: December 13, 2020, 12:13:11 PM
Yes, and only an inexperienced person will trade using greed and emotion, because wise and experienced traders will not bring their emotions into trading, they are more likely to monitor the market on a daily basis in order to benefit from the smallest numbers to the greatest number.

Greed is an essential component of human nature and it is not possible to get rid of it. But if you want to become a successful cryptocurrency trader or investor, then you need to learn how to control your greed and other emotions. You should not let greed prevail over caution. If that happens, then you may end up investing in shady projects and in the end you will lose most of your capital.
2259  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic will bring more economic progress in long-term... on: December 13, 2020, 12:07:09 PM
There is no doubt that the Economy is growing, despite the pandemic. If you look at the stock market indices, then it is clear. But this growth is not uniform across the sectors. For example, tourism and airline sectors are in very bad shape. On the other hand, online retailers such as Amazon have managed to achieve ATH levels, partly due to increased demand that resulted from the pandemic.
It's not the economy that is growing, it's wall street fake valuations that are getting unbelievably high. I see a complete fracture between the real economy and financial one, which keeps using its gimmicks and magic tricks to kick the can as long as possible.
The real crisis is still awaiting us.

I don't think that the stocks are overpriced now. If you look at the P/E ratios for various stocks, it can be seen that they are still at normal levels. Stocks such as Amazon and Apple went up, because their revenue increased as a result of the pandemic. Especially for Amazon, there has been a huge growth in turnover ever since the pandemic started to spread globally.
2260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 13, 2020, 12:01:23 PM
WI is still 85 runs behind and they have only 4 wickets remaining. Jason Holder is playing good at 60 and is holding the innings together otherwise the match would have been ended in a loss for WI.  West Indies will still lose the match today or on the forth day.

The partnership between Jason Holder and debutant Joshua Da Silva has made 74 runs so far and it is possible that they may be able to force New Zealand to bat again. At the end of third day's play, West Indies still trails by 85 runs. If they don't lose by an innings, it may give them some sort of consolation. 85 runs is still a lot, and surviving against the lethal pace of Boult, Southee, Jamieson and Wagner will be a tough task.

All that said, I have zero sympathy for West Indies. Their no.1 test batsmen of recent times (Shivnarine Chanderpaul) was forced to retire, as the WICB selectors didn't want an East Indian player to break the record of Brian Lara for having the highest number of test runs for West Indies.
