1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 12, 2021, 07:34:07 PM
He made a big blunder in the penultimate ball. He should have taken the single and given strike to Chris Morris. Getting a four of the final over is much more probable than hitting a six. And let's not forget the fact that Chris Morris is having a T20 strike rate of 150 plus, with a very decent batting average.
He could have scored a boundary and then have the super over, after seeing the first innings score i knew it is going to be a difficult chase but the match was swinging both ways till the last over and Arshdeep Singh bowled a good line and length and he should have taken a single and given the strike to Chris Morris, first match as captain and he made some crucial mistakes but he will learn from it.

I was mad at Samson, because I made a bet in favor of Rajasthan Royals and I lost it. Arshdeep bowled well, but we should not forget Meredith who conceded just 8 runs in the 19th over. 21 runs were needed from 12 balls, which was achievable. But Meredith got the wicket of Lord Tewatia, and then apart from the six, bowled a really tight over. Jhye Richardson would be really disappointed. He conceded 55 runs of his 4 overs, which was incidentally his most expensive bowling performance in T20s to date.
1422  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 12, 2021, 07:20:11 PM
At 400K in the US you're in the top 2%, close to the 1%. That's not middle class.

Here in India, the top most slab (43%) kicks in if you earn more than $665,000. But very few people will come under that category. And here only around 2% of the population pays any income tax. Agricultural income is exempt from income tax, and more than half of the population is consisted of farmers. Those who earn less than $6,700 per year don't have to pay any income tax (that amounts to more than 90% of the population). If you take a home loan and go for 80C and reimbursements, then you can avoid income tax even if you earn around $12,000 per year.
1423  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 12, 2021, 07:06:54 PM
Personally I think it is a good idea that we have so many vaccines, many have different technologies being used in them so we do not really know what the long term side effects are going to be in the health of the people, if we only had one vaccine that worked then that means that every single person is taking the very same risk but with so many vaccines in the case one turns out to be a long term risk for the population at least only a small amount of those people got that vaccine, so it is important to think not only on the short term but also on the long term.

Well.. I don't think that we have that luxury. Right now, around 8 vaccines are being used by multiple nations (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Janssen, Sinovac, Sinopharm and CanSino). There are a few more, such as the ones from Bharat Biotech and Vector Institute that are being limited to usage in a single country. I have no problem in inoculating everyone with the same vaccine. But the problem is that we don't have enough doses to do that. And even with 8-10 different vaccines, only a small part of the world population has been completely vaccinated till now.
1424  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after the pandemic on: April 12, 2021, 06:56:53 PM
Covid-19 is coming to an end because of the vaccine many citizens are now taking in the country. Many countries are restoring their economy back to it normal position where many people are gaining their lost they experienced during the pandemic. Before the end of this month bitcoin will start dumping because many government has demanded for more Money to be print, so that every citizens will start experiencing the impact of the money in the country.

Yeah.. the governments were just looking for an excuse to start printing money like crazy and they got it. Take the case of United States. The latest stimulus amount to $2 trillion!!! Can you believe it? $2 trillion in banknotes created out of thin air. And US is not the only country. A majority of the world nations (irrespective of whether they are developed nations or the developing ones) have announced big stimulus measures. This is just crazy.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CFNP] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 12, 2021, 06:46:53 PM
Amazing match overall. My losing streak finally ended thanks Punjab narrowly winning this one. Samson scored more than half the runs by himself. What a player! However, I enjoyed Hooda's knock the most.

Also, I feel Samson made the right call sending back Morris since he almost scored a six on the final ball and was in much better form when compared to Morris.

Biggest takeaway from this match is that both RR and Punjab bowlers sucked big-time due to which their prospects of winning the cup this season fall sharply in my opinion.

You think Samson did the right thing? I would disagree.. he should have taken the single and given the strike to Morris. Or even tried for the second run. Bowlers were not that bad. Riley Meredith bowled an excellent 19th over, which swung the momentum back to Punjab Kings. And then Arshdeep Singh was impressive in the final over. And for Rajasthan, Chetan Sakariya was sort of a revelation (and this is the first time I am hearing about him).
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CFNP] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 12, 2021, 03:47:04 PM
@Haunebu and JSRAW, my bad and sorry about that. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the rules. You guys are right.. this time we don't have a lot many participants. Last time, if I remember correctly, we had around two dozen. This time even the defending champion refused to join the pool. Anyway, life goes on. Now we can concentrate on the entire tournament, rather than worrying about our standings for each round.

BTW, looks as if I will get 0 points today. Punjab Kings may make 220-230.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Altcoin Safe for Investment on: April 12, 2021, 01:57:42 PM
Altcoins are the best investment anyone can think about because one correct investment can make you rich in such a short time. I have seen many people who multiply their initial investment to 100 times with promising altcoin such as binance coin, ethereum to NFT coins like Enjin, Sandbox, Decentraland. But one mistake can make you regret because the sea is full of shark who creates fake project to steal investors money. So before making any investment, I advice you to analyze it in a detail level to lower the risk involve.

The problem is that you hear only about success stories. Those who lose their money very rarely post about it. For every project that has made a profit of 10x or 20x to the investors, there may be at least 50 others which have made them lose their capital. It is like a lottery with the new altcoins. If you are lucky, then you can become rich almost overnight. I know one user who had invested in two dozen different altcoins, and still failed to receive a profit from even one of them.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CFNP] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 12, 2021, 01:47:06 PM
Am I leading the pool combine? It’s nice to get 2 points  Grin
I have really been impressed with KKR batting tonight; specially Nitish Rana and Tripathi. Did Rana play any t20 international from team India? I guess no. He is very consistent most times and deserves chance in team India.

Congratulations. You predicted all the three games correctly. I can see that Royse and Teosanru are also having 4 points, but they predicted only two out of the three matches correctly. Maintain the lead for another four matches, and you will be left with the reward for winning the first round!!! BTW, best of luck for today's match. I can see that we have made opposing choices for Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals.
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB price on: April 12, 2021, 01:24:03 PM
The hype of CZ Binance on twitter is working perfectly and I saw that the ETH is just 3x ahead of BNB, this mean to me that hey are aiming to replace ETH on top and they are already delivering the good prices in the market, this is possible to happen soon.

We are able to reach $600 in just a week, now we're looking forward to hit $1000 this quarter. BNB is indeed on of the best altcoin today, they keep on growing, can't way for the next tweet of CZ Binance about the "not a financial advice" series.

At this point, you can't really compare BNB with ETH. Right now, BNB is mostly known as an exchange token and not many projects are opting for the Binance chain. ERC-20 Blockchain is still preferred by the vast majority of the projects (irrespective of the sky high fees). In the smart contract sector, it will take a long time for BNB to catch up with Ethereum. So these talks about BNB replacing Ethereum sounds a bit premature for me.
1430  Economy / Economics / Re: China to overtake the Us as the largest global economy by 2028? on: April 12, 2021, 01:12:39 PM
I would not be surprised if it becomes a reality that China will dominate the global economy in 2028, because China looks ready to face this pandemic.
Although there are many conspiracy theories supporting China providing false data regarding COVID-19 victims, but China's economic recovery is
proving very fast. In fact, I predict China will catch up with the American economy before 2028. I saw that China seems to be focused on being the best
in the economic sector.

I won't be surprised if that happens sooner than that. The American population is getting less and less productive, due to rising tax rates and an increase in illegal immigration. The immigration system in the US is quite strange, as it gives preference to unskilled labor, against highly skilled individuals. Farm workers and other blue collar laborers can easily immigrate to the US, but someone with 10 years of experience in aeronautics or engineering needs to wait for 10-15 years to get an opportunity to immigrate. On the other hand, China is not encouraging such behavior. They allow only a small number of migrants, and only those with the topmost skill level are able to migrate to China.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 12, 2021, 12:52:10 PM
Is he running for the Presidency?
God, I hope not, he is the most incompetent Senator in the country and I am tired of politicians that are all talk and no walk, I want my fellow countrymen to experience a good leadership, Pacman is a good boxer but that doesn't mean that he is a good leader.

I am not from the Philippines, so don't know much about his performance as a senator. But if Lorence.xD is correct, then Pacquaio should wait for a decade or so, rather than jumping in to the fray next year. One thing I know is that Rodrigo Duterte is extremely popular. But he won't be able to run again, due to term-restrictions. IMO, Philippines needs someone like Duterte to continue the good work, rather than a public figure like Pacquiao who have very little experience in politics.
1432  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: April 12, 2021, 12:33:44 PM
When I see people currently living in a house in the Canaries or Thailand and working from there, that's a dream.

A big part of my job I can do any time, from anywhere, but some of it I can't. Currently I'm full time at home due to the pandemic, but when it's over my boss wants me at my office at least 3 days a week.

Still, 2 days home is enough for me to look at a bigger house, farther from my office, because commuting longer for 3 days is OK.

And I will enjoy the bigger house, I can have a good home office there, and plenty other stuff.

Here in India, the managers can't force anyone to come to the office (although a lot of them still ask their reportees to do that, which is against the law). For my part, I am working from home for the last 13 months. And I have to say that this is the best time of my career, since I started working a decade ago. Obviously I feel bad for those who are not given the freedom of working from home. But they need to think whether to continue working under such exploitative conditions or not. My advice is not to work for a company that doesn't respect you.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments ban Bitcoin like they did with Gold? on: April 12, 2021, 12:14:19 PM
The government already tried many times to stop and ban bitcoin but they always failed on doing it because bitcoin cannot be stopped they will just waiting their time for doing it. The price of bitcoin as of this day is high which makes it more interesting for many people and many counties, some countries already exploring the world of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, and mass adoption is already happening little by little no one can stop bitcoin unless the internet connection will shutdown worldwide and will never back again.

You can't generalize governments all around the world. There are some regimes which tried to ban Bitcoin. Perfect examples are Thailand, India, Bangladesh and Bolivia. But at the same time, there are others which were receptive towards cryptocurrency from the very beginning. I am talking about countries such as Japan, Germany and Switzerland, which legalized Bitcoin and regulated it's trade from the very beginning. And then there are the vast majority of the countries, where the legal status of cryptocurrency is unclear.
1434  Economy / Economics / Re: Can not believe 5 years ago you could of bought one whole bitcoin for this much! on: April 11, 2021, 02:34:16 PM
This is the proof in crypto world that if you hold your token for long time and that token have future probably the token will increase tremendously like bitcoin and other crypto  currency.  I remember bitcoin reach 20K dollars I'm not sure if 2018 4th quarter of that year then after that bitcoin decreased every month and a year, but now Bitcoin reach 60K dollars my prediction BTC can reach 80K dollars this year.

Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency. There was no premine and the inventor (Satoshi Nakamoto) never attempted to make profits out of his invention. Even in 2010, the total market cap of Bitcoin was only around $3,000. On the other hand, most of the ICOs are priced in tens of millions of USD now, if not hundreds of millions. There is only a small chance that they will be successful in the long term. And even if they are successful, I don't think that they will provide huge returns like what happened with BTC. Because they are already overpriced.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CFNP] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 11, 2021, 02:22:40 PM
One of the modern great Kane Williamson will serve drinks tonight for SRH. Couple of season back he was leading them. Guess Warner is bossing the franchise again, in a good way ofc. Would love to see Kane back in the team but for this SRH batting line up need to fail for at-least couple of game, otherwise 4 overseas restriction going to hurt him as Indian batsmen occupying middle order for good and Warner-Bairstow-Rashid are almost irreplaceable, last spot going to overseas all rounder.

----
Hate to see fine batsman sitting at dug out and warming the bench, i hope they add 1-2 teams in the IPL soon.

BCCI needs to increase the number of overseas players from 4 to 5. IPL is more like an international tournament now, and it will be unfair to limit the number of overseas players per team to such a small number. Hopefully that will be done once they increase the total number of teams form 8 to 10 (probably next season?). I guess SRH was in a dilemma. They can't drop Warner and Rashid Khan. And the competition was between Jonny Bairstow, Mohammad Nabi and Kane Williamson. Nabi was selected over Williamson, since he is an allrounder.
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 11, 2021, 01:56:39 PM
I don't understand why they are not allowing the broadcast of IPL in Pakistan. I heard from my Indian friends that they were able to watch the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on various TV channels and Hotstar. If that is the case, I don't know why the Pakistan government should implement this ban. Obviously Pakistan players are not allowed in IPL, but that is another topic and it should not be mixed with the broadcasting of the matches.

This happens in every IPL and pakistani fans are not allowed to see the matches in an official way. Although IPL does not allow Pakistani players but we as an audience still want to see those matches. As always, i will have to find an illegal way to see the IPL matches.

If the government has blocked the broadcast of the tournament, so there can't be any "legal" avenue to watch these matches. You can watch pirated feed in YouTube or Facebook. These are not legal, but as such you are not commiting any offense. One step further, you can use a VPN or subscribe to some online streaming websites. But here it gets murky in legal terms. It is against the law, although the chances of the authorities acting against you is very minimal.
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments ban Bitcoin like they did with Gold? on: April 11, 2021, 01:38:12 PM
In the past, there were instances where the governments tried to ban gold. Did that worked? Definitely no. The same will happen this time, and the results will be even more stark because of the digital nature of the cryptocurrency. In many of the developed countries, the authorities have realized that it is not possible to ban cryptocurrency. So they have started regulating it. However, there is no shortage of idiots in developing nations and here in India the government still want to make possession of cryptocurrency a criminal offense.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CFNP] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 11, 2021, 01:25:24 PM
The most successful two teams are: CSK and MI. Take this as a hint but it's really hard to tell who will win the trophy.

CSK was a very good team, but that was a decade back. And the problem for them is that the same players are still representing the franchise even now. They seems to have learnt no lessons from their experience during last year's edition, as the team is still full of players who are above 40 years of age. Take out Suresh Raina, Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja, and CSK would be having zero chance of victory against any of the other franchises in the IPL.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP is up 118% in seven days as the market responds positively to SEC case news on: April 11, 2021, 01:13:13 PM
What happening with XRP right now is a bear trap, and those who rush to invest in this coin will regret about their decision later. The SEC lawsuit was just a symptom. The disease remains. The biggest problem with XRP is that its market cap is inflated through artificial means. The promoters hold somewhere around 80% to 90% of the circulating supply (either by themselves, or indirectly through Ripple foundation and other bodies). And only a small part of the supply is in free-float and thereby the XRP exchange rate is kept at a very high level (despite not having any real life usage).
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season ending in may ? on: April 11, 2021, 01:01:09 PM
Many top altcoins just follow bitcoin's growth but rest do not. An altcoin does not stop growing unless it's project and it's team failed to create demand and value to their coins. I hope bitcoin should hit 100k and altcoins to the next peek in max 2 months as you said by May 21.

Right now, 99% of the altcoins are going up because there is a Bitcoin rally. A lot of new users (and some of the experienced ones) are investing in altcoins because they think that Bitcoin is overpriced and the potential returns are not high. However, this can't go on for ever. We are witnessing several shitcoins achieving multi-billion USD market cap. Eventually, at least in some cases the promoters will dump their holdings and then vanish from the scene.
