2281  Economy / Speculation / Re: what should I do, I invested a lot on: August 18, 2014, 09:58:43 PM
As people are telling you, keep faith and come back in two to five months.
It will be better and you will be smiling that you went through the worst low ever.
Next time don't invest most of your money in a high-risk speculative currency it will make you sleep way better.

Why won't it go to $0 and why will it come back better than ever
 - We all have invested a lot in Bitcoin there are also people who bought at $1200.
 - Shitloads of people have mining contracts and want an ROI.
 - Wallstreet and ETFs are ready to launch.
 - Major retailers are investing in Bitcoin adoption.
 - Technology is sound and uncrackable.
 - We've been through 40 China bans, an Exchange failure (MtGOX) and several scandals.
 - ATMs popping up.
 - Official regulations on Bitcoin.
 - etc....

If Bitcoin is going to die then it will not be now.
Bullshit.
A technical flaw would be deadly instantly, no matter about any point you describe.
But hey, you can tell your grandkids that you owned some of those digital tulip bulbs and it was a hell of a time!
And if a technical flaw is not happening, we are going to the moon, it's that simple.

I understand the way you read my post Smiley
I was talking about the current situation and there are no known flaws to date.

Yes true if one was to be able to crack ECDSA or be able to reverse SHA-256 and RIPEMD160 then we would have some problems.
Even then the Bicoin client can be adapted quickly through manditory update to support a different checksum of public key signing algorithm.

Yes we currently have no proof that ECDSA is safe but hey almost all SSL, HTTPS and other security systems are based on that technology.

Other than that the Dutch Tulip craze ended after three years, Bitcoin has been here longer Smiley
I agree with most, but a flaw in bitcoin could send it to sub-zero because a lot of noobs don't understand shit of it.
I know it can be fixed, but you should agree that it would cause a big dent into crypto.
Some alt-coins will rise I guess, depending on the speed of the bitcoin fix.

I don't care about a flaw or bitcoin going to zero. I'm happy to have been a part of it.
I will hold my coins no matter what

Yes I fully agree. A flaw in the client that can be exploited for a day or two would cause Bitcoin to hit the 2 digits or lower.
Any coin that covers the security breach might get an advantage and take over.

Possibly Bitcoin will recover but it won't be pretty Smiley

For me too I wouldn't mind having Bitcoin after it went to zero. I'll probably frame my wallet and hang it somewhere Smiley
2282  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 is NOT the year of bitcoin, sorry on: August 18, 2014, 09:18:38 PM
The year is not over!, anything can happen in 4 months.

Yep!!!

We went from $2 (November 2011) to $1242 (November 2013) in 2 years!!!!!
2283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC now at 3 dollars with the other altcoins. on: August 18, 2014, 09:13:45 PM
People who are holding LTC must be unwell... seriously this was on the cards for a very long time.

First off this thread should be in the alt currency section of the forum.

Secondly we are discussing price. Price does not change the usefulness of the payment network.

Thirdly, Please make it fall MOAR!  Grin Grin Grin

LTC is useless since there is no adoption nor exclusive features but above all no speculative hype which all alts need.

LTC has more volume and might be more available.
2284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC now at 3 dollars with the other altcoins. on: August 18, 2014, 08:39:28 PM
LTC will be back from the dead.
LTC and BTC are king ... death to DOGE Cheesy

2286  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for the current bitcoin value crash? on: August 18, 2014, 08:17:14 PM
Just a theory....

Maybe this is Wallstreet making an entry.
Dump shitloads of coins they bought in the last months... cause a panic and make everyone sell. Then buy your ass into Bitcoin and let it go to friggin' deep space.

 Cheesy Cool

We are currently in the bear trap / dispair phase. You will feel the need to sell but don't give in.
It might go to $100 but once it comes back it will go way further than ever before. (we hope Smiley)

Cheer up and have a beer (or 5)!!!!!

P.S. We are all in this shithole together so as long as this forum has members you are not alone.
2288  Economy / Speculation / Re: And after this profitable sell-off, this is probably the bottom on: August 18, 2014, 06:32:03 AM
You only know where the bottom is when looking back.

The 200 EMA on the daily charts is positive which is good.
But on all the other charts (4H,1H,30m,15m,etc.) it is still negative.

I still believe we have some days of punishment ahead.
2289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: August 17, 2014, 09:55:51 PM
It will come when you least expect it .... since everyone is expecting it, it will never come  Cool

P.S. I do believe in Bitcoin and I do believe it will become 10k+.
2290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not a currency. on: August 17, 2014, 08:24:41 PM
In my opinion the problem with Bitcoin is relatively simple.

For any economy to work money must be earned and used.
If money is stagnant for a long time you can get logistical problems.

As we can see now, you can't buy a bitcoin at these nice prices. Most bitcoin sites are out of stock (at least where I live).
The economy has gone stagnant. People are probably willing to pay more than the current exchange rates but have trouble getting money into exchanges to buy.
We might have too many HODLers for Bitcoin.

The good thing is that once people (or big investors) finally get their fiat money into Bitcoin it will be under valued and this will give a good positive surge.
Hopefully we go TO DA MOON!!! once more Smiley.
2291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Been here before. on: August 16, 2014, 05:02:36 PM
Good thread! It is amazing how much more I enjoy reading posts by older members than those who have joined after 2013 Smiley Usually, those newer members are a lot more bearish. Of course, If you don't understand bitcoin and only watch the price, it will drive you nuts.

I think you are just much more calm, when you are still sitting on 100x ROI even when the price drops by 20%. I understand the fear on one hand from the newbies. That is why everyone tells you only to invest what you can afford to lose.

While this is true now, you must consider we were all newbies at one point. The difference is the newbies that freak out and panic in times like these can't make it. They don't really get what's happening with Bitcoin, and they liquidate their position at a loss. This happens through every cycle. Those newbies from 2010, 2011, and 2012 aren't here anymore. The hero and legendary members you see today sitting on considerable valuations of coins kept their heads through the tough times. It's not like it was any easier for them the first time around. If anything it was more difficult, because there was much more uncertainty.

I agree that new members and holders of Bitcoin are not used to holding threw the drops.  That is the time when holders are separated from weak hand and I myself have learned my lesson.  It sucks you can't just upload this experience into the minds of newer members.  +1 for inspiring posts/thread, with all the fud around it's truly nice to read.

Why would you want to do that? Weak hands is what separates the poor from the rich Smiley
2292  Economy / Speculation / Re: is Bitcoin going to crash to as low as 200 usd? on: August 16, 2014, 05:00:51 PM
i still remember this news on coindesk http://www.coindesk.com/mark-t-williams-bitcoin-bulls-time-will-vindicate-prediction/
where he predicts price will fall hard some where this year, which came past, but he kinda still believe in it.

and now one guy has all 30k btc, did he buy low or high? i believe we don't know yet.

we might know if the non-winners disclose there highest bid.

what do you guys thing, would 30k be dumped slowly or like falling brick?

what if he is holding the 30k for months+, regardless buying it for a low cheap?

hi guys, looks like it might crash to about 300 range, what you say guys?

If it goes below $400 then the guy who brought the silk road bitcoins might panic dump. He must have paid over $400 and if he sells it could push the price down really fast.

Maybe he is already dumping and this is the result? That would be good news since Bitcoin seems to be surviving Smiley
2293  Economy / Speculation / Re: No more below 500$ Next Stop 1(0)0000$! on: August 16, 2014, 02:21:49 PM
Not sure could be 1(0)0000K $!  Cool
2294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Been here before. on: August 16, 2014, 09:57:51 AM
anything below 600 is a great price to buy. now? a no brainer, just basically free money for you. worrying? let fallling and other trolls do that, I'm fine Smiley

But it is below 500 already, what do you think?

Based on the price action in the last 2 weeks, it won't surprise me if we see 200-300 again.

The question will then be, is 200-300 a good buy or is it going to down further?

it's going to nowhere but down! believe or not, bitcoin game over
buy more lose more

Do you think you are some kind of Messiah trying to save people from Bitcoin?
Go to Las Vegas and stop gamblers or hobos or something Smiley
2295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it time to buy or what? on: August 16, 2014, 09:54:13 AM
The volatility is great at the moment.

My advice
 - Go Short
 - Hodl

Build that bitcoin wallet and wait for the $100k coins to come Smiley

2297  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am finished trying to to talk sense into some of you. on: August 15, 2014, 06:52:21 PM
Why would you leave now? Times like these are when I love reading this board.

It's either 'We're going to the moon!' or 'Bitcoin is failing. Sell now to cut your losses!'.

when moon falls over you get uoow

Cheesy
2298  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am finished trying to to talk sense into some of you. on: August 15, 2014, 06:48:28 PM
Bitcoin has dropped as low as $2 before returning to $1200. I smell weak hands Cool
2299  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC PANIC! (just get it over with, will you?) on: August 13, 2014, 09:30:41 PM
This is the moment where all n00bs with weak hands get slaughtered.
The same weak hands that will frenzy back in later when it's moontime Cheesy
2300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something, something, something, technical analysis on: August 13, 2014, 08:57:07 PM

Is it me or did the triangle break upwards with some volume... meaning your analysis could be faulty.  Huh
