It will take a few days to confirm the upward break but I'm confident it's a sure thing.
1742  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin as a investment on: November 29, 2015, 10:04:13 PM
Only as a long term investment. Need the money don't buy.

Waiting for a price increase is not that good. Imagine someone bought at 900$, now the price is 300$, how much more will he wait and how can you be sure the price will go higher than 900?

If you look at bitcoin as a five to ten year investment you can make quite some profit or loss. Thats why its an investment.

Imagine someone buying at <$1 and buying a pizza....
1743  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1200 before December 1 on: November 29, 2015, 08:15:29 PM
It won't happen, there's no way. I just can't see all those hard stock investors suddenly switching to bitcoin. BTC is still considered a joke by many of them.

This reminds me of an invention called "the Computer" which was laughed at in the olden days....

What olden days? Computers were never laughed at, wtf are you talking about?

Yes the days when you were yet to be born or living under a rock. Grab a book and read up on computer history.

Here are some pointers:

- Alan Turing (The father of computers) was ridculed and put under unbearable scrutiny because of his "machines".
- Steve Wozniac: Wozniak's "personal computer" was harshly received by HP. The company simply didn't understand why any ordinary person would need a computer with that particular form and functionality. It was  just a hobbyist product to them. HP was apparently so insistent on the uselessness of such a device that they rejected Wozniak five times!
- IBM President: "I think there is a worldwide market for maybe five computers.". Due to his fathers death he could force the company into the computer business.
- Ken Olson (DEC): "There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home."
- Pablo Picasso: "Computers are useless. They can only give you answers."

etc.
etc.

Nobody is great at TA (only about 5 people in this forum are worth listening to and I'm not one).

Plus points...
- We have had a long bear market.
- 1week logarithmic EMA has been positive for a long time.
- Optimism in the forums.
- Block halving on it's way
- No banning as far as I know
- Bitcoin is being recognized, taxed and adopted.

Negative points...
- More terrorism and Bitcoin is enabling them (could be a positive price driver but I hate terrorists)
- Price of bitcoin is high and people need to change their mindset to owning part of a coin
- Serious money needed to push price

My conclusion would be that we will get a good rise in the oncoming weeks.
Previous bubbles have been 30 days of mega rising.
There will be a bubble, I think we might hit just above the previous ATH before people get scared and stuff.

This is my pull-out-of-ass TA  Kiss

1746  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have .00000001 bitcoin. Will I be a millionaire by 2046? on: November 29, 2015, 07:34:37 PM
At one magnitude a year your .00000001BTC=$.000003 will turn into $3,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

So yes you will become a $3000-billion-billionair give or take  Tongue

I agree we will see a sudden drop before going sky high. This will screw over the weak hands. Why because it always seems to happen.
1749  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: November 29, 2015, 06:08:41 PM

1752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Primed on: November 29, 2015, 02:21:05 PM
The TA isn't that good imo but the message is clear.

As I see it we have some good indicators
1. Very long bear period that must end someday.
2. 1w log chart has an EMA that clearly gives a bull signal and has held for >1 week.
3. Optimism in the media and forums
4. >5 year Existance of the currency
5. Halving coming
6. More infrastructure and investors
Etc.

Buy your bitcoins while they are cheap!!!!!
That is all true, and whereas I agree that we managed to reverse the down trend that started after Mt. Gox crash, I still believe a solid testing of the support line around $300 (here shown as the lower band of the uptrend channel) is more than due. therefore I believe we will stay around $350 till the end of the year, at least.
As for the halving event, that is definitely the fundamental event of 2016 for Bitcoin, but I hope to get some more fundamental support to fuel the next leg up. I still think it is too early to speak about halving effect at today's price level, but soon it will get noticed.

Bitcoin cant go down, that would look really bad. People won't buy if they knew the possibility of it going around 200s 100s so it will be a stale mate. Vise versa is people would buy up all the cheap coins because media only works so much.

What I mean specifically is that all these investors and startups around it are pretty big people, I doubt they will let it look like that.

If you know it is going down you can still make money by going short...
1753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price cycles on: November 29, 2015, 02:17:42 PM
The price cannot be predicted. Only the major adoption news of bitcoin will increase the price. Nothing else.

Yes the price cannot be predicted otherwise we would all be billionaires and a billion would be worth nothing Smiley.

TA can be done to determine the general direction of the market, it's no more than an educated guess that will give you a few percent better chances.

News is most likely not the main driver of increasing prices. First of all bitcoin news happens after something happens with bitcoin not before. So news will only act as an accelerator.

actually if everyone had the chance to predict the price, nobody would gain anything, so no billionaires  at all

we would end with a sum zero game

Yep

and a billion would be worth nothing
1754  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: November 29, 2015, 12:33:33 PM
Don't underestimate greed. A bubble will happen again....
1755  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of Bitcoin and Mining Profitability on: November 29, 2015, 12:31:26 PM
The cost of Chinese miners powered  hydro elecricity is around $150 per bitcoin. Some of them will not be profitable when the difficulty rises further.

And then the inevitable happens... the price rises .... and mining becomes profitable again.

That's how the cookie crumbles!!!

1760  Economy / Speculation / Re: The next generation rich club on: November 22, 2015, 06:34:46 PM
Yes 21 club is achievable and 210 club is a risky investment for rich people.

I also believe that the 2.1 club should be mentioned.
Or the >1BTC club.

The days of mining a few blocks before lunch are over  Cheesy
