I think we will start to see a small rise.
Everyone will be very cautious when stepping in.

The next few days aren't crucial, the downtrend will stay as long as people are getting off the Bitcoin boat or toying with the sheep.
Too much people are invested in Bitcoin to make it go bust. I believe that whales are doing this to get there hands on the majority of coins.
We are at the brink of institutional investors jumping in the game. I think some shady backchannel investors with big $$$ are at work.

We will hit a point where there is nothing more to sell, less volatility and then the price will stabilize and go up again.
Or the trend will suddenly change when investors start buying every coin available. Then sheeple follow and investors get rich quick.

If you look at the last pump, we all knew that the 10k to 20k move was too much and it would end. Everybody wanting in to Bitcoin is a bad sign.

Now we see the other side, pushing down lower and lower even though we know it is below it's value.
This panic downtrend will get countered soon. We are close to the bottom. Below $3k would only be temporary.
People leaving Bitcoin is a good sign!!

Anyway it's been quite a while but I bought some BTC
Holding out for <$1k is ludicrous but between $4k and $3k is good value for money....

You will never buy at a good price. Each trade always starts at a loss.

$4770 is a good price. I am thinking of buying some extra as well.
Then just leave it for a year and you will probably have 200-1000% profit.

I'm down 70% on a quite substantial budget and not panicking....

Your Bitcoin Public Key is only available on the blockchain after you do an outgoing transaction.
So you can have all the quantum computers in the world but if you do not have a key to crack you have nothing.
Since your address is a double SHA256 with RIPMD160 of your public key, it is not easy to get the public key from an address since information is lost in the checksumming.

Looking at most secure wallets, they always move all funds to new accounts after each transaction, this IMO protects against Quantum computers since the public key is not published in the blockchain. Only the public keys of the empties addresses.

Other than that Bitcoin can always add extra encryption features in soft forks.

And as stated by other members, if Quantum computers become commonplace then the world will get screwed over before Bitcoin.

So stop the FUD !

My experience with Bitcoin is that we are on track. Once we shake off the masses we will climb again :-)

- Has always increased insanely in value
- Still booming in the media
- Still attracting new investors
- Tech is secure and working as built
- Tech has survived many doomsday scenario's
- Forking has been done and proven possible
- Banning has not been done. Adaptation from the economical world has taken place.

The only reason not to HODL or Trade is when you have made more money than you need to live.

This is what happens every time (based on my experience).
Especially banning threats of India, China, etc. are the cause.

- Price rockets .... all aboard.
- Bitcoin is the future, mega positivity.

- Banning stories are launched in media.
- Political debates on Bitcoin are launched because every halfwit is investing.
- People scared because of banning talks.
- Bitcoin is anounced as doomed by certain media.
- Other negative news (hacked exchange, etc.)

- Bitcoin seems doomed and it's the end of the world.
- Everyone wants out.
- Price plummets.
- People get burned.

- FUD is revealed (old stories, incorrect stories, etc.).
- Bans don't come through.
- Bitcoin is no longer topic of the day.
- Bitcoin recovers.

- Stability.

- Rinse and repeat.

After previous dips we had to wait for the Bitcoin news to get out of the mainstream news channels.
I agree that we will get some rise and then stabilization.

Remember a lot of people got burned and got out or are waiting to get out when the price is at their buying price.
We will see a lot of selling on the way up effectively stabilizing Bitcoin from another mega pump.

Since the dip we are currently climbing at approximately $750/day  

We will be seeing $10k before monday hopefully.
ATH might get passed before the end of the month.

We will get some testing of support but other than that we are going bullish again
