2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DRK Dump to continue... That didn't take very long. LOL!!!! on: June 23, 2014, 03:41:22 AM
Darkcoin's anonymity feature sounds great in theory; but in reality, it seems to be an enabler for scammers, pedophiles and drug dealers.  Darkcoin simply doesn't seem ethical and that is why I never put money in it, even though I knew a pump was going to happen before it did (the hype was there for everyone to see).

Rationalizing Darkcoin to succeed is like rationlizing Maidsafe to succeed..  it's simply poor logic, we've had services like TOR for over a decade and 99.99999% of internet users still use internet explorer, firefox, chrome, netscape, et al.    The mainstream public just doesn't seem to go for the anonymity stuff.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead -- what darkota deleted from that thread on: June 23, 2014, 03:31:41 AM
He's made troll threads about me and other coins, and then deleted my comments right away.

It's one thing to use the moderation option to eliminate actual trolls, it's another thing when a troll is actively using it themselves to silence everyone.

2283  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Karpeles back to living large in one of the most expensive apartments in Tokyo on: June 23, 2014, 03:09:12 AM
I don't understand how we have bounty hunters who track down people over a few thousand. .  yet Mark Karpeles, who supposedly has $300+ million worth in private keys, doesn't seem to be bothered by anyone. .

especially when Karpeles' location is known, he hangs out at Starbucks and he's in Japan (fat white guys stick out).

You would think every Yakuza, Korea and Russian gangster in Japan would be making a beeline for Karpeles and trying to get money out of him.  Heck the North Koreans have kidnapped people from mainland Japan.  North Korean elites could buy some new toys (Tesla automobiles for the elites) if they shove Karpeles on a boat to Pyongang.

2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What city has the highest amount of bitcoin users? on: June 23, 2014, 02:58:37 AM
Asking the highest amount is going to result in a flawed statistic.  Greater Tokyo is one of the world's biggest mega metros (36 million), so naturally Tokyo therefore would probably have the most Bitcoin users.

Per capita and per person, on the other hand, Vancouver and then San Francisco are likely the leaders in Bitcoin adoption.

Mind you it's not much of a race.  There's only a few thousand Bitcoin merchants in the world and a lot of them are really niche novelty services.  Can't afford a Tesla so I can forget about that.  No interest in Tattoos or Cannabis seeds..  What does that honestly leave me with?  We need way more restaurants and supermarkets to take on BTC but the confirmation times I think scares them away.

Bitcoin's use for me is arguably for international travel and remittance.  Border control restricts me from taking more than $500 abroad and oversea ATMs charge me $2 - $5 to withdraw funds in the local currency (even though I am using VISA which is everywhere).  Bitcoin allows me to get past that with ease.

2285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock CEO Calls Bitcoin Code "Slop" on: June 23, 2014, 02:48:53 AM
I assume he must be referring to downloading the blockchain.  The blockchain size is growing at a fast rate.  It's also extremely impractical for most people to download a 20 gigabyte blockchain.  I couldn't imagine what the case will be when Bitcoin could be 100 gigabytes in a few years.
2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 23, 2014, 02:16:02 AM
If anyone does not have a stake yet, I think this could be your last chance to get one at these prices... Once open alpha starts and we begin to approach the actual official launch of NEM with the beta release, there is no way a stake is going to be selling for the current prices. If you look at the asset exchange you can already see signs of the price inching higher, I think we're about to see a big move to the upside soon.

(Disclaimer: I am a NEM stakeholder and this is not investment advice. Please invest at your own risk and only invest what you are comfortable with losing, as with any high-risk investment.)

Price has been steadily increasing today.  The closed alpha isn't as exclusive as you may think as a lot of people got in just by hanging out on IRC chat.  First impressions are pretty positive so far.
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCFrictionless - Comefromabove = same person. Proof on: June 23, 2014, 01:30:30 AM
There's trolling behaviour on the BCfrictionless profile if you look at Bitcointalk.lk (the achrive).  He tried to impersonate frictionlesscoin to scam people.  Made up fake developers on his scam thread.  Also told a woman to "shut the f*ck up".  This person, out of the blue, pops out of nowhere to slander me.   Roll Eyes    Especially the day after Call from Above, who targeted me a lot, disappeared.

Someone who is lurking wouldn't lurch out of nowhere at me, it's just ridiculous, considering it's been the opposite experience (I've had newbies sending me private messages thanking me for the posts I write).

Yes that person was excited about having money to buy a car.   Grin  Maybe he is legitimately from Russia, because else where in the world you get something called a job to afford a car.  Even teenagers, with minimum wage jobs, can afford cars in my area.  Only someone in the second world would write something like that.

It took you that long to figure it out?  I knew within 30 seconds of reading one of his posts that it was a broke, eastern euro trying to pump crap coins so he can buy a used 1985 BMW.

There was months ago someone who registered the name "DystopianFuture" (oddly I can't seem to find it on Google search anymore), who was trolling the NEM thread hard, which makes me wonder if it's the same guy again.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650189.0;all

There is a reference from Ganefull to this "Dystopianfuture" account but I can't seem to find it anymore.  Either the account was deleted outright or it's spelt in some weird way, but there was definitely a troll who went by that name for awhile.  It seems like some serial offender who continually trolls this forum by impersonating developers.

2288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BCFrictionless - Comefromabove = same person. Proof on: June 23, 2014, 01:03:44 AM
I've noticed similarities in speech between both profiles.  As well, Call from Above ceased logging in on June 21 while BCfrictionless started actively (quite a lot and out of nowhere) posting just a day after Come-from-Above went offline.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=300079

As well BCfrictionless name is really a modification impersonation of the name Frictionlesscoin, a reputable developer.  Much like the name Come-from-Above is a modification impersonation of the developer Come-From-Beyond.  Seems like a recognizable pattern to me.  It's the same guy who likes to impersonate developers on Bitcointalk and then trolls with those accounts.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=46556
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=127521
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=227362

It seems evident that Come-From-Above is really BCfrictionless, some schizophrenic pump and dumper who appears to impersonate developers and community leaders.

2290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 22, 2014, 04:37:49 PM
What is the likely price of a NEM stake after the proper release?

Well...... Higher than today.  We really just have to see how smooth it is, how well POI works, and a few other factors.

Jaguar says we won't see how POI works in all its glory at alpha release.

Nothing is proprietary in crypto currencies.  IIRC - a lot of the concepts that were pioneered by eMunie were taken on by other coins.  Exposing how your features work is only inviting someone to take it and use it themselves, before you manage to release.
2291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 22, 2014, 04:20:53 PM

Do I have to buy a magnifying glass from the Blackcoin developer to read this thread?   Huh
2292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NTR Neutrinocoin = Shady Coin on: June 22, 2014, 04:18:59 PM
I have yet to read OP's post but on subsequent posts

Marine Coin used to have a capitalization of $6 billion on Coinmarketcap and yet they only had a volume of $500.   There's too many people in this community who blindly throw money onto the next pump and a lot of these guys are going to be bagholders.  Technically any capitalization under $100 million is easily manipulated.

Heck even BTC is manipulated - there's rumour on this forum that November's boom was caused by two MtGox bots.

2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT VS NEM on: June 22, 2014, 04:06:18 PM
As I stated - just to have the influence that a NxT investor (one of the 20 who invested 1 BTC) had, UtopianFuture or anyone would have to create 160 sockpuppets.  If you can create 160 sockpuppets and avoid being caught then arguably you probably deserve those stakes but; in reality, no one has done that due to the sheer labour involved at the time when NEM had no value.

How many SockPuppets do you have Come-From-Above//TaunSew?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=661438.0

There's your answer.  Read the thread and read the NxT forum.

How do we know you're not Come from Above?  He almost never said anything about NxT (the few things he did was only to counteract his trolling on NEM) and he had a vendetta against me.

2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT VS NEM on: June 22, 2014, 04:02:13 PM
Yes, there was rule that if someone sponsored more than 5 accounts, they will be refunded. And from the beginning it was actually allowed by UF to have more than one stake, it was changed after time by community demand and by criticism from some NXTers. I dont even see how UP broke those rules.

And I dont even think that he did something wrong. He was trolling other coin? He has right to voice his opinions on other coins, no?. It was responsible from him towards NEM project to express his opinions privatly - via alter ego account, to not draw undesirable attention and negative response to NEM. It seems just rational and responsible to me.

The whole point of "fair distribution" to me, was not about having perfectly equal shares, but to not have whales, that could manipulate the market easily...I remember that NXT was often accused of market manipulation by whales, UP probably just wanted to avoid it.

This is my personal view of the problem.

The real scandal was him trolling Sim coin.  It would be like Satoshi account being caught trolling the thread of a $hitclone.  That was the real scandal but it was quickly forgotten within 5 minutes.  What emerged was a 'hypothetical scandal' revolving around negative proof that UtopianFuture had a thousand sockpuppets.  He must had been doing cocaine and 20 cups of coffee a day to register 1000 accounts within 28 days, especially to bypass all the anti-sock measures (taint analysis) and the anti-spam features on this website.

There were probably NxT investors who registered with 3 accounts, so UF would have to create close to 500 socks just to match some guy back in 2013 who randomly threw BTC in.  Have to recall that UF and the developers actually did organizing or developing work.
2295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Come from Above - Taunsew - unmoderated on: June 22, 2014, 03:44:58 PM
I don't see where you are coming from with the "NxT" thing.  I did a match case search on Call from Above's profile and he never types "NxT" (matched case), at least he hasn't on his last three pages of posts (I'm not going back to read the 600 posts he made in the last week).

Call from Above is an actual member on the NxT forum and he's from Russia.

I'm simply curious what "speech patterns" there are between us.  There are none.  You might say "if you're not him, why are you defending yourself then.  That makes you look guilty".  Nope.  I am writing this because I find your trolling and libel attempts towards me amusing, since only a 'tard could come to your conclusion.

At least people had some basis in claiming that I could be UtopianFuture but all the subsequent other claims I have been reading are looney.

2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Come from Above - Taunsew - unmoderated on: June 22, 2014, 03:32:54 PM
I was the first reply and he deleted it right away.   Creating unmoderated things to stamp out free speech is just stupid.

Quote
What patterns were there in speech analysis?  As well I've been one of the most vocal opponents of Call-From-Above, so your theory rests on the assumption that I have extreme schizophrenia and like to pass the time away by having arguments with myself.   Grin

https://nxtforum.org/pub-crawl/10%27000-nxt-for-speech-analysis/

Apparently I am also doing speech analysis on myself, according to your theory.

I made myself very unpopular when I hypothetically stated John scammed the NxT community out of money and then it led to BM being exposed as a scammer as well.  I'm sure both things would had happened regardless of me posting.
2297  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having kids on: June 22, 2014, 03:09:33 PM
Bad rhetoric for having children:

- Passing on the family name.  Can you name all eight Great Grandparents?  All sixteen Great Great Grandparents?  How about their siblings?  Their hobbies and hometowns?  How can you "pass on a family name", if you don't know your own genealogy going back a few centuries?  Your hypothetical descendents in 200 years, unless you end up being a Bill Gates, won't have a clue who you are.

-  "They'll take care of me".  Fat chance, especially in North America and Australia, your kids will relocate to the other end of the continent and will likely have an estranged relationship with you over some trivial thing.  In Europe or Asia, your kids will probably be too broke to take care of you.

For the cost in raising a kid for 20 years (increasingly it's 22 to 25 years), in not having kids you will presumably have saved enough money for the world's best nursing home.  There are career advantages in not having kids, like being able to relocate on the whim for a better paying job

Bonus for not having children

- Save more money
- Freedom

We outsourced the manufacturing jobs to China.  I outsourced my baby making production to Somalia.

The reality is most children in the world are born under selfish reasons.  Some people want an interactive pet who can speak human back to them.  Some women see kids as a paycheque for life ("divorce me and I'll collect a paycheque for 25 years!").  Alternatively, a lot of people use kids as a vehicle to lock down their partner into a relationship.   Some guys think it's the epitome of masculinity to implant their seed into as many wombs as possible (baby daddy's of tomorrow).  Then there were people who were simply too lazy or ignorant to use contraceptives.

2299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 22, 2014, 02:13:39 PM

Well there are issues with the POW Model regarding its effects on ecology and network security but if NEM sees a stronger adoption we will see its impacts with new nodes using up resources and some clever hackers might find security issues too.

Leads me to another question :

How is POS/POI not more centralized ? Give 156 Stakeholders a Stake for small money instead of giving people the chance to get them in a continous period ? Even if the stake to claim with PoW gets smaller over time isn't this a fairer approach even if you want to reward the risk takers ? I am sure there were more people grabbing a Stake in Bitcoin early than in NEM.

First, where did you get the 156 number from?

Second, what makes you think that Bitcoin is ever so secure and not subject to cabal attacks? I hope you do realise that miners in bitcoin have reached asymptotic levels and in fact is on the decline. Have a look at this. The tipping point WILL happen with the passage of time.

http://www.coindesk.com/51-attacks-real-threat-bitcoin/

I need not say more. Good luck.

Isn't there also a threat in centralized nodes?  Someone like Bitpay could buy them all up and implement any change to Bitcoin they want.  They can easily make Bitcoin inflationary like Dogecoin.
2300  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kiev war criminals shooting on Russian territory. on: June 22, 2014, 01:54:34 PM
Russia refuses to follow NWO and it isn't diverse enough.  Russia needs more diversity.   Russia has white privilege and it must import tens of millions from the African continent and India or it will perish due to low birthrates.   Immigrants to Russia will be doing jobs Russians don't want to do.
