What kids? Most of these people are adults with careers and jobs. Especially nowadays, there's been people all over the country driving to Ferguson with the intent of committing crime. It's like all those G20 conferences that attract anarchists and criminals from other countries.

Especially if you live in Europe - typical prison in Europe (especially in Norway / Sweden) is like a gated country golf club compared to American prison.

Actually the staff owns another 20 billion more for themselves. If they can take Charlie Shrem's BTC - they can easily throw Jed into a jail cell with gangbangers and seize his computers and auction it off.
Really Ripple is such a joke if you think about it - it's a Napster waiting to happen, same with Ethereum. Development teams should remain anonymous unless they live in a country like Japan or Denmark which is pro-BTC.
"Napster" - p2p file sharing - won, Copyright industry lost (which means win-win ). It's not about individual companies but about the tech and community. On which big toes do you expect Ethereum (basically a new programming language) to step? Don't be a Crypto Nerd. FBI and security agencies don't really care about this sort of details. It's like saying Kim Dotcom couldn't go to jail because his site went defunct. All these Ethereum developers are known people who can be tracked down and put into prison, especially if they reside in USA / Canada.

The more Monero threads there are the more the capitalization goes down. Monero is one of those anonymity coins.. right..? It's an extremely over-saturated and competitive field.

The legal compliance departments of 3 banks and counting disagree with this. You do realize that Napster back in the day had huge investments from private funds and banks, correct? It doesn't matter what banks or funds are backing what, it's what the FBI thinks. If Ripple gets too big and gets too much attention it is inevitably going to be raided by the FBI on accusation of money laundering, tax evasion, drug facilitation or enabling crimes, it's almost guaranteed.

sometimes i wonder if people like a slow, steady and solid dev team or someone who claims to deliver the impossible and doesnt do so in the end.
what do you guys think how long development takes, let alone testing, bug fixes etc. ?
how should a dev team pump out new features every 2 days? get real, seriously...
Pure PoS is a lot quicker to implement than PoA. NEM and Crypti has been tweaking their algorithms for many months. I would rather see priority placed on fixing the website, the payment processor aspects like integrating BTC / USD / EUR and promotion.

Look at NxT - that had so many problems in the beginning (much more than NODE) and it hit a peak capitalization around $80 million a few months after launch.
...
Easy, node will be bigger than NXT don't worry. If devs need time to do it properly let's give them time. No rush. This is long term investment not a quick money. LOL, are u guys high or what? Those days are gone and there is no way that NODE could reach a 80$ million marketcap in just a few weeks like NXT did. NODE could be pumped up to the couple of million marketcap, but thats a very unlikely scenario. More realistic version would be small surge upwards and then slow decline like almost all the other coins. Sorry guys but all of those who rushing are not real supporters of Node. They are traders looking for easy profit than dump and jump on other project. I've seen that scenario many times.Ad hominem logical fallacy - attack the critics, not their criticisms. With that attitude then yes people will dump and jump onto other projects but not because they are traders but rather because the NODE community is full of delirious fan boys defending what are amateur developers who can't prioritize the necessities. Stop screwing with this PoA rip off on NEM and Crypti, deliver on what you promised (pure PoS), fix the website and promote - that's an easy list of things to do, afterwards you can work on integrating BTC / USD / EUR. If you want to do PoA then it can come in 2015 or 2016, not right now when NODE could fall to a 5 digit capitalization due to neglect.

Yet they seem to think that if NODE falls to a five digit capitalization then they can somehow pull themselves out of that grave. Reality is nobody wants to buy a coin they perceive is losing value. Nobody wants to be the loser / bagholder, they want to buy something they perceive will go up in value and make them rich - you may not like that truth but that is what it is Really releasing NODE this soon was a mistake. No mechanism (foraging is random), half the buttons on the website don't work and zero promotion. This PoA crap probably won't be out until 2015. Just stick to the pure PoS that you promised for months, fix the frigging website and promote - that easy.

Yeah the internet is full of Slavic babes posing in front of crappy looking cars. Whereas it is the reverse in America, often unattractive women posing in front of beautiful cars (* cars made in Europe).

Coming soon - who's going?
They charge WAY too much for this conference. Full conference is $799 on site or $599 before. They keep flashing up ads at me everywhere for it and I would go if the price was reasonable, but $799 is too much in this down economy... Dude - its only bitcoin; we'll make more! This is actually cheaper than the Shanghai Bitcoin Expo that was hosted some weeks ago. For $500 - you get a silver pass for two days which includes a free lunch and being Vegas that probably means a buffet.

I think so. At least one Cafe in England and then a bar in Budapest was crowd funded that way.

We chose the POA, it seems more fair
But not implemented yet, before implementing better test well and until that POS is a good option. PoA won't be fair if the capitalization continues to drop, drops as low as five digit capitalizations and you get whales buying from desperate bagholders. Really this PoA thing needs to be suspended and temporarily halted. It's not what people signed up for in the beginning, for one. Second, this is all in concept phase which sends the signal to stakeholders that NODE was rushed out. Redd was PoW for 6 months until moving over to PoSV. Really the priority right now should be userbase expansion (and retention) and you can worry about PoA in 2015. I think this is really a slippery slope anyway. Can you really 'out fair' coins like NEM? NODE should be focusing on its' actual strengths. NODE should be aiming to be a payment process which integrates BTC, $USD, EUR and CNY. As well as the language barrier advantage by replacing BTC as the main crypto currency in Ukraine and the rest of Eastern Europe, and then getting some presence in Britain / Germany / China / USA.

There's already anonymity in Bitcoin - it's called being able to open a wallet without needing to submit identification. These anonymity coins are a joke as their solution is to take away a public ledger but without said ledger how do we know someone isn't cooking the books or something?
Although yes it's true mining and the ex-hibernating whales are killing Bitcoin.
$1.5 million in Bitcoin is mined everyday and this is an A) inflation (hidden tax on existing holders) and B) these miners dump up to 80% to pay for their electrical costs.

Who knows about this coin outside the announcement section?
Developers I think shocked a lot of people when they surprised announced they were moving away from pure PoS to a "PoA" that is still in the concept phase.
This is really one of the worst launches in crypto history. I would had stuck to the pure PoS and went straight to promoting on VK and other Eastern European websites, in addition to some promotion on BTT and Reddit. Instead this coin looks like it's in for some serious hurt due to the developers not thinking their priorities.

Baron Rothschild, an 18th century British nobleman and member of the Rothschild banking family, is credited with saying that "The time to buy is when there's blood in the streets."
everyone was waiting for the buying opportunity, well there you have it.
the only form of money better than gold in the last 3000 years is on sale at the same time as the entire world uses a paper money system that has never worked in the past, if you don't see the stars aligning you don't deserve to be rich.
Unfortunately for you, there is not much blood in the streets right now. Most people are still at massive profits at these prices. That's the greater fool theory in action. Should had bought bitcoin when it was fraction of a cent or cents. Many of those people bought and forgot they had Bitcoin until it was all over the news in November and they've been dumping since.
