2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pounds bet into £157,865.59 on: May 09, 2022, 10:39:48 PM
That just proves that gambling isn't just about luck, good thinking analysis and skills also matters. But i won't deny that this gambler has also the best of luck since predicting all these results correctly are very rare to happen. I guess in gambling, its not always the house wins. Sometimes, when a gambler has his own unique instinct to win, he will do more than luck just to prove he's something more than that.
I think it is only luck. See they mentioned he kept on doing it for last 20 years.
But I am not sure how many attempts he have made in real to win the bet. But on a side note - congrats to the winner. Hope he keeps his money save and don't loose in other bets.
Generally, gambling is all about luck but there are exceptions for some lucky gamblers. There are few gamblers aka high rollers in the Stake sports community, these users are able to hit the highest multi of the month a few times in a year. Last time one user won over $20k with a $5 bet and has seen dozens of winning odds over 5000x. Instinct is the main controller in such cases, these users keep tracking each league, team, and player and hunt for the biggest odds on each event. Having one winning bet slip covers all possible losses plus profit and possible promo money.
Every user won't have the mind to go for such a game and experiment it. With these Gamblers patience is a big positive factor, because once we loss we'll get into emotional blackout and end it going for high bet values. These gamblers never do it, yesterday I was playing plinko. It was really fun, but beyond certain limit it triggers our patience as continuously it gives 0.2X payout.

2303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 09, 2022, 05:57:34 PM
Rohit Sharma returned to the dressing room after collecting only 2 runs. At the end of 3 overs, their collection is only 16. Since the target is only 166 runs, if Mumbai does not lose wickets too quickly then they will have not to face any problem to win this match. To win, Mumbai will have to collect around 8.8 per over. Mumbai has enough experienced players in the squad.
Positive sign for MI is that Ishan Kishan is still on the crease. He is playing carefully not taking much risk, seems like he wanna score runs for himself not for the team as he has scored 33 runs on 31 balls. Required run rate is touching 10 now. My guess is that KKR will win tonight.

The target of 166 runs was not a big target. At the same time, the players of Mumbai Indians were confident today after winning the last two matches. The performance of Mumbai's batsmen in the last two matches was also very good. However, against Kolkata today, Mumbai's situation is not very good as they are batting for just 166 runs. They collected only 58 runs in 9 overs. Winning the match is becoming difficult for them.
166 runs was no big deal, but MI made it difficult to take the slow start. This time, it was Pat Cummins who caused the most trouble for MI's batters as he took three wickets in his single over. It was then business as usual for the KKR bowlers. In just 113 runs, MI lost their entire team. Kolkata won by 52 runs.
166 runs is a reachable target, but Mumbai Indian players weren't able to perform. Most of the wickets were unwanted. The target isn't that big to get pressure. From the beginning there is no proper plan on scoring, and somehow Ishan kishan managed to score 51 runs. Ishan kishan was playing good and he should've maintained the score, but he looked for early shots which ended with a catch.
2304  Economy / Speculation / Re: 33333 on: May 09, 2022, 06:13:21 AM
If all the good news haven't happened we might've experienced gradual growth in the price with price corrections taking place at intervals.

Possibly the price we'll be sitting around seems to be the same, because last year during the month of july the price started to grow in a gradual manner from $29k. Further the good news and the unexpected increase in the usage took it to mark a new ATH. If that hasn't happened we could've experienced the price to grow slowly reaching around $36k by now and the corrective measures could've let the market down to the current price. On the whole the current price fits to all possible connections.
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon and and how this "dude" could effect bitcoin in the future? on: May 09, 2022, 04:39:20 AM
Buying Twitter was a huge move for Elon Musk to boost his social media reach. Already before he had millions of followers who would blindly buy anything he recommends. Elon is a very gifted sales person that convinced the world to buy into electric cars and space rockets. Together with his background in online pay services he has with PayPal, it comes natural for him to be an advocate for crypto currencies. Step 1 will probably be to increase his followers on twitter, and step 2 will be to promote crypto coins he is invested in and he likes. Personally I am a bit uncomfortable that one individual has so much power over crypto coins. One good or bad tweet will send crypto prices flying.
His plan of buying Twitter was part of his business plan. He has got influence over every market. He realised the need of social media and what it can do to the people. Understanding it, he have bought Twitter. But, with cryptocurrency his influence have declined. He gave an entry took away the profit through dogecoin and shattered the market. Again people aren't ready to follow him. After getting into the deal on Twitter he have been getting more suggestions on investment. The latest being the suggestion by Adar Poonawala who is a CEO of pharmaceutical Company to invest on a large production plant for Tesla in India.
2306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge Future after Elon Musk Buy Twitter ? on: May 08, 2022, 08:39:44 PM
There is a prediction on 2022 being the year of Dogecoin due to three different factors

  • Elon Musk
  • Different Partnership
  • Development within the Community

Elon Musk buying Twitter had made dogecoin to be the official cryptocurrency that is being used on it. As Elon Musk have already a supporter of Dogecoin, the move of buying Twitter will have impact over dogecoin market.

With more investors getting into the market, there is big partnership taking place with corporate firms. Top designer brand Gucci have partnered with dogecoin and it has set the acceptance of dogecoin on five stores around USA. This will slowly grow and gets used.

Dogecoin being the memecoin with good marketcap is planned to develop some bridging with the ethereum platform. This will let users buy NFTs with dogecoin and more people will move towards it for its low transaction fee.
2307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 08, 2022, 08:07:07 PM
I have heard many of these stories before.... people posting in gambling chat that they started with $5 and they pushed it to $150 and then losing that money within a few minutes. I think we are greedy and as soon as you won something big, you increase your bet size and you lose it quicker.  Roll Eyes

The old saying that says.... "The Only gambler that win, is the one that stops playing after a huge win" is so true. We win big.... and over time the casino just take back the winnings over time, because we do not stop playing.  Roll Eyes

This is one of the basic rules that I use when gambling. Immediately after any significant winnings I leave the casino. But according to my statistics, even this rule does not allow me to get rich by gambling. This approach allows you to spend money somewhere else and enjoy it rather than lose every last cent and leave the casino with nothing.

That's pretty much better because you know how to control your gambling activities and know when is exactly the time to stop, but for others that  gamble regularly, that simple strategy/rule is really that hard for them because most gamblers became more greedy especially if they've received some huge winnings as they believe it was their luck that day.
Gamblers who regularly gamble could be having big experience on how to spend and when to take break. Also, just because there is a winning streak they never intend to continue to gamble. What have been mentioned in the above quote is much connected to the common gamblers who think of making money regularly. Consider me, I enter when there is need of money and used to loss everything.

You've done a very good job. Aged people wish to keep themselves up-to-date, but very few make it whereas the rest doesn't concentrate on it. I haven't explained in such a way to my parents, but I've given description about its price and the present price. This requires lots of patience, without which it is impossible for aged People's to learn about bitcoin. My mom used to call me whenever some news related to bitcoin gets popped on television.

After losing two wickets very fast, Delhi scored 71 runs in 3 overs. Their run rate is good enough. If it continues like this, Delhi may win. But Rishab Pant and Mitchel Mars must be at the crease for a long time. If the pair of these two batsmen grow bigger, the chances of Delhi winning will increase. Otherwise Chennai will win the match.
Delhi Capitals lost their 5th wicket and Moeen Ali is turning the match by picking 3 wickets. Rovman Powell and Axar Patel  is the crease and they still need 127 runs to win the match. I expect some big hits from Rovman Powell but other than that it is a really difficult task to win after loosing 5 wickets as the required run rate is climbing and the spinners are bowling well.

Edit:
Axar Patel is gone and their troubles continue in a crucial match.
Yes, Delhi Capitals playing the crucial match. It looks like Delhi Capitals is quite confident in chasing targets. In most matches Delhi Capitals opted to bowl once after winning the toss. It has managed to reach targets that are within 180. In a match against Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals reached 207 runs while the target is 222 runs. I expected this match to be close as that, but it has turned to be a single sided match.
2310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Women's participation into cryptospace - Increased? on: May 07, 2022, 11:31:29 PM
In an article read about the increasing interest among the women's to get into the digital space and educate themselves. This in particular is much about the mom's and not the girls. They find this a place where they can able to invest and leave something to their kids. Most of these mom's were interested in teaching their kids about the developing technology and for that some are learning it. One of the mom mentioned
Quote
My whole point was, I want to educate myself. I lived in Seattle during the dot com bubble and I had no voice or power to do anything.

Quote
The majority of mom investors interviewed by NBC News claimed that they were interested in crypto as a way to “meaningfully change” the financial security of their families

More and More Moms Are Embracing Crypto to Help Their Families Get Richer
2311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 07, 2022, 11:01:20 PM

May be that is the way ICC is planning to introduce Cricket in a big way to the US fans. It is not even a popular sport in the US but they might be having some kind of plans to attract the fans. They get the media attention if the tournament is conducted and major news network will be airing them, other than that the gate will be empty and the ICC might be planning that they get the required number with broadcasting rights.

In usa there is huge number of migrants from South Asia and they made up mostly of the USA national team. In most of countries native people are not much interested in cricket but only migrants from South Asia are take example of UAE, Oman, Germany, Canada. ICC need to do some serious efforts to promote people among native.
It looks like people from the south asia are dominating the cricket around the world countries. Cricket as a sport isn't much recognised in the western nations, other than the few countries. This is the reason why Asian players are found much on the new teams. We can't say local natives weren't there. Every team have got good number of natives and rest were from the Asian parts.
2312  Economy / Gambling / Re: crash game some new ideas on: May 07, 2022, 10:40:51 PM
This is just a suggestion, but I'm not sure whether this will bring profit to the casino. Most of the crash games function automatically where users were able to set the cashout or can get cashout when required. For this the players can be allowed to play a game like the one we had in the keypad phones. Snake game, which keeps running and the player needs to keep on collecting food and this make the snake grow in length. If we dash on the sides then it ends. Maybe that'll be more attractive as the control is in the hands of users.
2313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price of Litecoin 2022? on: May 07, 2022, 10:01:56 PM
in a situation where bitcoin is currently experiencing a deep correction, it can be ascertained that all altcoins are experiencing it too, not except for ltc of course.
but if we look back with the achievements of ltc, of course it is enough to be a separate reference that ltc is quite reliable.

keep in mind that initially ltc was created with the intention of being a lighter version of bitcoin. with continuous development and recently they released the MimbleWimble protocol testnet (MW), the protocol is used to test confidential transactions and compress transaction data for verification purposes through the Cut Through function.
Litecoin is reliable on other stuffs like for playing gambling or simply for paying/buying because it's fast and cheap but maybe not really in its value because it is not a stable coin but it drops too like a typical volatile crypto. That MW thing that you mentioned might have help ltc value to increase a little but what is the update for that this year?

Litecoin seems silent now as I never heard any news in regards to it but it doesn't mean that it's dead. That cant be and like I said earlier, ltc is a very useful coin so there will always be a demand for it. Litecoin is a top coin and every top coin is expected to have a bright future but for this year, we can't guarantee if it will break a new ath or not.
Litecoin have got more real-time usage beyond the acceptance on gambling platforms. To me Litecoin is a good long term investment, because it is the one that is into competence with the ethereum. Further there happened drastic growth with ethereum whereas Litecoin stagnated. Anytime there can be good rise in the price of Litecoin. Not for 2022, but for long term profiting it is always a good choice.

Lucknow    vs   Kolkata

In the match between Lucknow and Kolkata, I chose the Kolkata team to place the bet. Lucknow provided a target of 177 runs. But Kolkata lost their first wicket on zero run, and collected only 25 runs in 6.5 overs and lost 4 valuable wickets. At the end of 11 overs though Kolkata collected 69 runs. Kolkata has very little chance of winning this match. Kolkata needs to score 108 runs from 54 balls to win.

Kolkata scored 79 runs in 12 overs. Andre Russel is playing very well. He has scored 39 runs from 17 balls. He hit 5 over boundaries. If he is stay at the crease, Kolkata will win. Narine is a good enough player. If these two players can form a good partnership, Kolkata has the potential to win. Otherwise Kolkata will lose this match
When there is no better score at the powerplay overs then we can conclude this to be a losing match. With KKR during the first 8 overs KKR have scored just 30 runs losing 4 wickets. This isn't a good start. If there is a good start, then the middle order players contribution will help the team. Here without any performance from the openers and middle orders can't make the team win the match when there is continued wicket fall. Andre Russell tried the best and wasn't able to do what he thought.
2315  Economy / Economics / Re: Standard of living on: May 07, 2022, 09:13:49 AM
I used to think production of local foods helps fight inflation but the reverse became the case in many countries in Western Africa. Funny enough this will be used as a campaign strategy for 2023/2024 election in many West African countries. But i think many will rather switch from menial jobs to digital services to meet up with the inflation
That's true, local food production needs to be done in a self reliance manner. This will increase productivity as well as fulfill the self requirements. In recent years corporate networks have begun to get into agriculture, so this too gonna be a problem when they use different techniques to increase productivity which can't be afforded by the local productions. Anyhow soon people will raise for food if the inflation increases this way.

In my country the living standards of common people have affected big, but the corporate and the rich have multiplied their network during the pandemic. Also the government is standing on the side of the rich and never prioritise the suffering people.
2316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russians collectively hold about $130b in crypto on: May 07, 2022, 08:50:50 AM
This is only from transactions that are known..... those transactions that went through Russian Exchanges. There are a lot of people that are earning Crypto currencies online and people that are receiving bitcoins and other Crypto currencies through P2P methods.  Wink

The only time when bitcoins can be linked to Russian people, is when it touched regulated centralized services... or when those bitcoins are spend on products and services that link those customers to Russian citizens.  Wink

I wonder what is going to happen once this war is over...... will we see a sudden dump ....or will it be a slow dump over a longer period.  Huh
The war hasn't made a big impact over the market of Cryptocurrencies. Start of the war there is decline in the market and further the gradual growth happened reaching the price from which it dropped down. Further several steps were taken by the world countries to keep Russia isolated from the rest of the world. By the time usage of cryptocurrencies increased and this gave good awareness among the global population as everyone were looking for regular updates on the war. So, this time when war gets ended there won't be much of deviation in the market.
2317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: California to encourage companies to deal in cryptocurrency? on: May 07, 2022, 06:55:54 AM
It's really good to see that California has a visionary governor.

Erm, this is the dude that wanted to shut down the Diablo Canyon — the last nuclear plant in California. Calling him a "visionary" is giving far him too much credit. And add to the fact that apparently California has turned into a shitshow? Nope.
I don't know how things happen with the nuclear power plants generating electricity. In my country more protests have taken place to close few nuclear power plants based on data on people affected by tumor. I don't know for what reason California Governor wants to shutdown the nuclear power plant, but if it for the reason similar to that in my country then he's truly "visionary"
2318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Momentum in Crypto World on: May 07, 2022, 04:46:25 AM
Already we've got few institutions in USA accepting bitcoin and few other cryptocurrencies as tuition payment US Ivy League Wharton School to accept cryptocurrency payment for its online course. But, those are limited to few educational programs like blockchain and digital assets programme, “Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets” programme which are just six week programs. Now Bentley University have begun accepting bitcoin for all courses available in university. This is a big move in the educational development and creates more space for other universities to follow it.
2319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin teaching approach on: May 06, 2022, 08:24:27 PM
When I was in my school days I remember how I was taught. The curriculum is covered within the specific timeline and we don't know why we studied those topics. Everything is completely connected to the scoring of marks rather than understanding its real life usage. So, I request OP to teach the students how these cryptocurrencies are getting used around. In specific the teaching will be more effective when the use cases are well explained, because in school education we never know where we'll implement what we've learnt.
2320  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Little Surprised! on: May 05, 2022, 11:40:26 PM
snip
These and many more good news, and yet the price is falling to $42,000?
snip
Patience is the key to make big profit with cryptocurrency. We need to keep hold, and try to buy more when the market is down. In the past when the market is found to be crashing people get into panic and starts selling. This will be used as an opportunity by the whales in the market. Nowadays this has changed, because people believe it'll bounce back after the drop in the price. As said the market movement is sideways, and there is no drastic crash which helps the traders to make profit.
That's right, it seems that people have started to understand that when the market crashes, they shouldn't panic and sell.  Sincerity and patience are the keys so as not to lose in the market, let it go (in the past) we did stupid things like panic sell.  the market will definitely be bullish and those who are patient will definitely get big profits.
This is true and a proven fact in the cryptomarket. But the riskier part is the holding capability. Everyone doesn't have the ability to hold for much longer time period. Users who have invested after meeting their regular needs have the ability to have patience for a long term. Most of the common investors of bitcoin will be the one who invest to get something in the short term. Such users will be affected. In short Whales will be in the safer side whereas small holders will be the victims.
