2301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin demonstrates how ridiculous Bitcoin is on: October 29, 2013, 01:03:05 PM
Instead, Litecoin and Bitcoin should be looked at as MasterCard vs. Visa. Most merchants accept both (except for my local DMV which only accepts MasterCard...go figure) and they both serve the same purpose.

Good point. This Bitcoin gold, Litecoin silver is just a clever marketing ploy.
2302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin demonstrates how ridiculous Bitcoin is on: October 29, 2013, 07:40:27 AM
LTC price is still low enough so that room for increasing its value is huge.

On the other hand there is plenty of room to drop more.

Smiley Who cares when LTC price drops down to 1 USD/LTC from its current price of 2 USD/LTC (that represents 50% of loss)? Now what happens if BTC price loses about 10% of its value? Do you see the maths here?

Who cares? Well the Litecoin holders will care for starters.

So your saying it's better to take a 50% loss rather than a 10% one?  Shocked

2304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 29, 2013, 06:51:23 AM
So I suggest diversifying and look at the trend which says scrypts are dead and so diversify into SHA256 coins and I would strongly advise to buy a few thousand ixCoins.
Good luck!

I would rather buy PPcoin than any iXcoins.
2305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is pissing me off. on: October 29, 2013, 06:34:04 AM
That's pretty much all I have to say.

PS:  I see some mention of Gox finally having "Midas" in place ... and that supposedly "Midas" will "enable" them to carry other currencies.   Obviously that would include Litecoin.

Any idea when Midas is going live?

Your pissed because your not rich yet?  Cheesy

Nobody cares about MtGox anymore. Deal with it.
2306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin demonstrates how ridiculous Bitcoin is on: October 28, 2013, 05:54:50 PM
But a major Govt actions on BTC are in the pipeline.

Bitcoin and all altcoins will be regulated under the same cryptocurrency umbrella. Alts will provide you with no protection.
2307  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: October 28, 2013, 12:44:03 PM
Honestly wtf. Pathetic.

Yes, asking for a donation in a currency (Bitcoin) that you openly wanted to destroy is very pathetic.  Cheesy
2308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Choo choo to the moon! on: October 27, 2013, 10:41:26 PM
bubble will pop sub 150 - the bitcoin value has risen to high too fast, a crash is inevitable, i know i won't  be the bag holder, i'm looking forward to cheaper coins

If you want my coins you'll have to pay more, not less!
2309  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: October 27, 2013, 07:33:35 PM
I remember it was a fairly large laugh, because at the time, Realsolid was trying to convince people that solidcoins were better than bitcoins, but yet he was asking for donations in bitcoins.
LOL  Cheesy
Anyone got access to that image that used to be on the Solidcoin site he made of a Bitcoin getting exploded apart by a bullet?

He might not respond at all..
He's stuck between a rock and a hard place, because if he doesn't respond to defend himself he looks guilty. But if he does respond, he'll have to answer 'difficult' questions.  Cheesy
2310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I talked to some people at college about bitcoin and they laughed at me. on: October 26, 2013, 06:06:07 PM
Don't worry about it. I told someone about Bitcoin and they replied "Sounds like some people have too much spare time on their hands."

*shrug*, I haven't brought it up in conversation again with that person.

You have to accept that some people just won't be interested.
2311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Climb higher and higher like a bird in the sky on: October 24, 2013, 07:05:01 PM
Capitulation soon. Retrace back to the low $100's. look at the chart. every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction. it cant keep going straight up forever. mark my words.   Grin

damn I am good made my call and lo and behold a little mini flash crash 5 hours later.

It went nowhere near $100. That was an horrific call. Cheesy
Perhaps it's you doing that tree shaking.

Thank you captain obvious.  Cheesy
2312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- Bitcoin Countdown - Total Global Monetary Collapse: 2015 on: October 24, 2013, 01:46:34 PM
"Total Bitcoin collapse by weeks end!" is what the thread title should be, because we all know it;s going to collapse in on itself, again, like a black hole. -_-

Can you be a little more specfic with the timing so I can cash out?
2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bubble Popped on: October 24, 2013, 10:54:43 AM
Yup the bubble popped and btc went almost all the way down to its support level. BTC grows 1000% per year.  6 months ago the support was $50 - so now its at $50 * 10^(0.5) = $158.

Good point.
2314  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bubble Popped on: October 24, 2013, 09:07:54 AM
I got a feeling experienced traders are playing games with you lot.
Think I'll keep my coins safety in cold storage.
If others want them they will have to pay me more for them, not less. A *lot* more.
2315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: scary Litecoin on: October 24, 2013, 04:20:35 AM
It's bounced up. Hope it's not a 'dead cat' type or you'll get burned.
2316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 23, 2013, 08:24:21 PM
Looks like Litecoin might be on it's way back up! Smiley

Yeah it's due for a bounce soon. Hope it's not the 'dead cat' variety.
2317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What challenges would a pure Proof-of-stake coin face? on: October 23, 2013, 08:03:55 PM
Yes the initial distribution of the coins is the problem. You'd end up doing a Ripple.
2318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 23, 2013, 07:19:21 PM
And yes I have heard cases where BTC took over 30 mins to confirm in some odd cases.

I've previously waited for an hour before a block was found.

I'm not the one who wrote that (not sure how the quoting ended up here).
But there are many cases of 1 hour blocks, yes.
You'll get the same variance with any blockchain; time between blocks is only an average. This is why waiting for confirmations, however fast they are supposed to be, isn't practical.

Sorry, corrected it now. I was trying to feed a baby in one hand and type on a tiny phone screen in the other.

2320  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Any fluke solo luck stories? on: October 23, 2013, 04:52:45 PM
If I had been solo mining since I starting mining around summer last year, I would have made a lot more than I have from pool mining.

I have found 2 blocks, which if I was solo mining would have given me 75 BTC. And just a few days ago, I almost found another block, but the share difficulty was only 266M, just 1M short.  Sad

Yeah I see what your saying but if you was solo mining the block header you was hashing would be different. In other words you would of never found those high difficulty hashes.

On the other hand you may of found more! You'll never know.
