They got lucky with that one, but at the same time Schroeder is also lucky as he might struggle to get a contract if Lakers did not signed him.
It's his 2nd chance, I'm sure he can prove himself, but hopefully he will not decline a possible offer for extension.

Disagree with you both. Lakers got a lucky signing at Schroder?

If you guys didn't know, no teams got interested in signing Schroder, only the Lakers, and look at what they offered, so low because they just want to give him chance. Schroder is the one that got lucky that the Lakers give him a chance.

If he is really a potential player, why his former teams decided not to sign him anymore?

For the Lakers this is probably the best they could have hoped for.  They don't have the money to sign anyone special and Schroeder is more than decent for that kind of money.  He is a serviceable veteran who can help them run the point.  As long as the big guys stay healthy he won't need to score, just run a turnover free point and that's all they need from him.

You didn't say something of your own about the article you copied and pasted with the link, we expect a piece of what you think as well considering you started the topic. Dogecoin may soon become the first on PoW or second on PoS, depending on if bitcoins transition first or they do. If asked some months ago, I would have picked litecoins as the next to succeed ETH as second largest PoW, but here we are. The announcement however did not seem to have any major effect on the price of Dogecoin.

ummm what?? Bitcoin will always be PoW. What are you even talking about transitioning?
Dogecoin I suppose could move to PoS but its a silly memecoin so it doesn't matter whether its PoW or PoS, it'll continue being a silly memecoin no matter what consensus protocol it uses. And Bitcoin is the only PoW crypto that matters so it doesn't really matter what is 2nd in hash power.

People just don't get it.  And agreed doge had its run as the meme market went nuts and doge was the face of it since its existence, people actually think it's going to come back or elon is going to continue to push it.  Where is elon now?  Lol it was a joke for him too.  It's over but you can't tell bagholders that.  They just won't listen.

Earn 500% APY by Staking

Get high retrns of up to 10x on your investment.

Is this rtue or lie?

500% apy is not a sustainable number lol.  If you are getting a zillion tokens they will just be mass dumped and price will just plummet.  Do people really still fall for this when people claim to make X times the amount of your investment.  Only a few profit and most everyone late to the game will lose theor money.  That's how these things work lol.

doge to the moon? Grin
this proves keeping your doge will still pay off one day. so keep accumulating from now on. doge is for the mass, you  never be left behind if you buy or  mine doge today. its still cheaper. congratz. i saw some defi project related to doge,  the hype might float again and its coming to steal the stage light.

Memecoins had their run, it was a fad.  Fads don't return, next bullrun will be a different set of coins.  People are just bagholding now.  Doge serves no real purpose.  And you can't just mine it.  It employs auxpow so you need to mine a scrypt coin like litecoin and merge mine doge.  The thing keeping the doge chain secure is litecoin pools.
2325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 16, 2022, 02:37:57 PM
I think we should better wait till there is an official announcement regarding the anticipated fight. Of course, it's good to hear that there are development from within. But the report say that they are still looking at the November 19 date which is very near and things are very iron out regarding the PPV and which network are going to cover this mega fight.

If they haven't announced it yet I don't think they will rush it by the middle of November.  Probably the biggest fight for both of them and boxing will want to suck out as much as they can from this fight.  At this point it would probably be sometime in 2023 but who knows.  Just sitting waiting patiently.
2326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 16, 2022, 02:34:42 PM
That could be the best scenario, all of them being healthy throughout the season to see the full potential of the team with Bron, Davis and Westbrook. If chances are Davis gets injured again, then they will be again in a difficult situation because Bron and Westbrook will have to carry the team on this shoulder.

That's what I'm looking forward to, Lebron, AD, and Westbrook playing the whole season.

Westbrook played 55 times with Lebron - 17 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 6.7 assists
Westbrook played 39 times with Davis -  18.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 7.8 assists

His stats last season are pretty good while playing alongside Bron and AD. What's the other problem? Maybe bench players and supporting roles, especially during the times that Bron and AD are not playing and Westbrook becomes the main guy.

Wishful thinking.  There is no way all 3 play together for too many games.  Lebron will be constrained on minutes, AD can't stay on the court and Westbrook is getting older now too.  Max I can see all 3 playing together is ~20 games this year.  Hope I'm wrong because the league is always better when Lakers are relevent.
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2022, 08:53:57 PM
I think you're probably right that a big change is coming for them in the near future.  Russell Westbrook just put his multimillion-dollar Los Angeles home up for sale, so he's expecting to need to find a new place to live in the near future.  I would think that you wouldn't put your home up for sale unless you knew that a change in scenery was imminent, which leads me to believe in spite of all the friendly talk, Pat Beverly and Russell Westbrook won't be playing on the same team.  I'm even starting to wonder if picking up Pat Bev was a way to help nudge Russell towards a buyout.

Honestly, I still have no idea if any other team would risk getting Westbrook, but it's clear that his decision to put the house in Los Angeles up for sale indicates that there is a good chance that the Lakers will get rid of him before the start of the season. By the way, this situation reminds me of Ben Simmons, who also put up for sale his real estate in Philadelphia before being traded to the Nets.

Think people are looking too much into that.  Market is high a good time to sell.  And yeah he might be gone soon but he should know his contract will be incredibly hard to move, much harder than Ben Simmons.  Ben basically told Philly he won't play for them either, russ ain't doing that.  So it could be as much as he just wants to move.

1000x potential seems pretty scamish advertising to me.  Anytime someoneentions potential gains as part of theor sales pitch tells me it's shady.  Sorry but what is it that makes this coin have a potential of 1000x.  And based on what?  This seems more situated in altcoin announcements than altcoin discussion.
2329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2022, 08:29:58 PM
Getting rid of Davis is not on the Laker's radar for now because as of this moment they are prioritizing Westbrook on a trade to avoid paying his high salary in fear of getting minimum production from him, they just wanted to get rid of him asap while getting a valuable player in exchange. Also, I seriously don't think that the Blazers will trade Lillard for Davis, that's just not true.

I don't think the Lakers are prioritizing on Westbrook trade. If it does, we should see them aggressively talking with other teams.

Trading Westbrook is just open and they are just waiting for good offers. If none satisfies them, then they will just keep Westbrook instead.

We know how the Lakers do business and if they want to trade players, they can easily do it even if there are issues. But since the Lakers just seem relaxed, it's optional for them if Westbrook will be traded or not.

You think so? I understand mate, but I'm really sensing the opposite thing because the Lakers are trying to avoid giving Westbrook his last salary and they prefer acquiring a player with a much lesser value but can play better than Westbrook. Also, trade speculations won't keep on surfacing if they aren't looking a new home for Westbrook.

It's not that the Lakers don't want to pay Westbrook.  Dude is on an expiring contract and if they trade him have to match salaries to do so, most likely on longer contracts.  It's not about the money at this point.  It's about maximizing lebrons last 2 years here and getting him someone who compliments him better than Westbrook.  Trust me Lakers don't care about paying, they just want to win the chip.
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 14, 2022, 08:26:52 PM
Perhaps they are waiting for the Canelo vs GGG trilogy and wanted to see how the fans are going to react, like the PPV numbers. But it doesn't make sense because fanbase are different. I guess we are all just looking for some excuses as to why the fight is still delayed.  This fight is one of the biggest for the year 2022 and we are all hype about it.

I don't think that's necessary, it's already given, this fight will generate huge PPV sales and gate entrance as well. That's not the problem I'm seeing here, it's probably the split of the revenue, or one of the boxers is not confident he can win the fight, of course, that would result in losing the undefeated record.

Maybe both of them are afraid to lose their 0 in their record, I love to see undefeated fighters fight each other especially when the stakes are very high, what's at stake here is the undefeated record and the undisputed titles, I checked the internet for the latest updates and there is none still the old news that they are ironing about details of the fight, if the contract is signed and there is a date, the internet will explode, I subscribed to over 10 pages about boxing in my social media account and they will send the feeds if the fight will happen, but so far it's all about Fury - Joshua and GGG and Canelo, no news about Crawford - Spence match.

Maybe still on the process or maybe both camps are not willing to give up the undisputed records.

Whatever the reason behind, I'm sure that there will be news or updates about this possible upcoming fight, we can't tell
what's the real score since there is no new announcement about the finalization of their contract, no sign deal yet
but hopefully we will be able to witness this fight, both are good fighters and really have big impacts in this sport
fans will be delighted if both will sign the contract and make this fight happen.

This fight has been waited for the people that's why it will be hard for both camps to hide the details if there is indeed some details to spare but looking at the fight now, no news surfacing nor rumors about the undisputed fight. People and fans are losing patience already because the negotiations is taking too long to make the fight happen.

If this fight won't happen, Crawford should at least defend his belt or get a fight early next year because the time is not on his side anymore unlike Spence who just came back fresh from his fight versus Ugas.

At this point I think it's more just the fans that want to see this fight than the 2 of them.  I know I'm in the minority but Crawford would do this fight in a second, dude fights anything in front of him and is scared of no one.  If this fight does go off catching the early line on Crawford is the play.  Closer to the fight I think it will be much closer to even than in the beginning.  Hope it goes off but I'm not holding my breath.

Well that sucked, dak out with mangled hands. I guess I deserved that drafting a Dallas qb as a giants fan.  With that being said.......Giants LETS GO!!!!  Alright I guess it's just one game and giants got real lucky but they've been crap for so long I don't know how it feels being undefeated after game 1  Grin

Justin Jefferson.  Dang you do you man.  What a game he had.  And muh boy saquon killed it.  Tonight's game should be awesome with russ going back to Seattle well done nfl well done.

I missed that game, did the giants kick ass or did the titans suck balls or was it somewhere in between?

Can’t believe the Bears won. I put some btc on the Niners but I guess this is one of those times I’m “happy” to have lost the money. Still going to be a shitty season for them but this was impressive.

That was highly unexpected...It was the gods using the weather. Cheesy

Should have started Lions RB, who could have possibly known LOL.

not ME!

Looks at Patterson on bench Cheesy

Well Congrats to the giants and The Bears and someone shoot the Pats for me!

Honestly the first half giants looked like the worst team in the league lol.  Then they turned it on a couple big plays helped them out.  They went for 2 pts for the lead at the end and luckily titans missed an easy fg.  Either way on the road against last year's #1 seed I will take a win!  However it looks  Grin

How should i diversify my crypto portfolio?

I feel like im gambling by going all in one crypto like ETH and the drops are hitting me very hard with its high volatility compared to BTC

Well in my opinion you should be heavy bitcoin and light everything else.  Everything follows bitcoin in price pretty much so why not own the price mover itself.  Then I'd go little bit into some high valued alts, like eth, matic, etc.  Then last maybe a very small fraction into something that could take off but won't hurt if it falls to nothing.

Whatever you do steer clear of meme coins

I just read an article that said the Lakers are considering trading Anthony Davis for Damian Lillard.  I'm pretty sure these reporters are just making things up for clicks now, as I don't see either team wanting to make that trade.  The idea of LeBron and Dame on the same team is pretty exciting though.  I put a 1% chance on that happening, but it's still fun to think about.  They're both killers on the court and I imagine would make one hell of a playoff run no matter who else is around them.
They are mixing things up just to make a scoop or yes it's just for clickbait.
The Lakers are lacking sharpshooters so reporters are trying to figure out who or what team they are making a deal with.
Reports last time were Lakers being interested with Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley, iirc.
https://nba.nbcsports.com/2022/09/10/report-suns-lakers-mavericks-knicks-all-interested-in-bojan-bogdanovic-trade/
Those veterans should think about pushing that trade as the Jazz will be nowhere near the playoffs next season and it will pause their championship chance.
So, let's also expect more rumors will come out about sharpshooters being linked to the Lakers team.

Not a good idea, Davis for Lillard, I don't think that will make the Lakers better. I guess the right thing to do is to trade Westbrook for Lillard, that if the Blazers will accept the trade, as for sure Lakers will be happy with that.

Yeah that's a wierd trade for both teams doesn't really make either better, dependent on in injuries.  I would like to see Dame in LA where he would get  some national show time.  Dude has been buried in a market not able to get the proper limelight he deserves.  Interesting if this does go down.

Will update my bid because I still would like this coin (you will revieve everything included in this offer for your one plain coin):

1) 3 matic
2) 5 viacoin
3) a bitcoin penny sticker from a couple years ago
4) (2) two unopened packs of 1991 fleer baseball cards
5) a public shoutout here on bitcointalk at some point in the future (within the next 5 years)
6) a $2 US bill
7) and a used copy of a ps4 nba 2k18

Will cover shipping if in the US, if not US we can split 50/50, and we use escrow for the whole deal.

Terms of escrow: you send your coin to escrow.  Escrow confirms coin in hand in condition that is "acceptable".  Then I send my entire deal to escrow.  Escrow sends me your coin.  I accept.  Then escrow can ship your package both digital and physical.

If you are local to the east coast of the US in short enough distance I'd consider adding in some of my famous ribs if you can sweeten your side of the deal up.

Let me know.  Thanks.

Any thoughts on the report that NBA will announce expansion teams on its pre-season. The teams will be Las Vegas and Seattle.

If it is Supersonics, I think it will continue the history of the previous Supersonics.

If this happens, as the report said, there will be reshuffling in conferences. Each conference will now have 16 teams each.

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/nba-to-announce-expansion-teams-las-vegas-seattle-during-preseason
I heard this story too somewhere on social media. I cannot find a legitimate source yet because some are saying it is denied by the NBA and other articles are just spreading rumors. We need to clear out if it really came from the NBA.
If it does happen then it would be more exciting. It gives opportunity to new and old players and free agents a chance to be part of a new team then it could add more jobs to those who will work at the said venues.
IMO, it's not a bad idea, expanding is telling the NBA fans the entertainment is growing.

I like this one, actually, they should realize it, and give everyone a job so they can continue chasing their dreams. With plenty of competition in the NBA, it's just important to add more teams.. What would happen here is more teams means more excitement as they will also have fans or followers.

however, since it's just a rumor, let's not expect too much as this might not happen too.

I disagree, the more teams the more watered down the talent is.  There are plenty of teams to where the back end of every bench are just fringe players.  Add more teams and there will be less talent to go around.  More doesn't always equal better and I think the NBA this is the case of that.

That should have been the superbowl last year.  Buffalo has to be the hands down favorite, they looked unstoppable.  If they stay healthy I can't see them losing many games this year.  That d was way tougher than I thought it would be.  Holding the Rams at home to 10 points isn't an easy feat.  Can't wait til this weekend!!
2338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Queen Elizabeth and Cryptocurrency on: September 09, 2022, 08:16:51 PM
The longest-reigning British monarch Queen Elizabeth died at the age of 96 in Balmoral Castle. She was born in 1926. During her lifetime money is not at all an issue for her. Being the Queen of the Royal Family of the World could've impacted the market if she have made some statement relative to cryptocurrency. Once she received a blockchain journal and this made discussions of the Royal Family holding bitcoin.

After her death, the same is being used as an opportunity and meme coin creators have made 40+ tokens on the ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. Few of which are
  • Queen Elizabeth Inu
  • DogeGod Save The Queen
  • London Bridge Is Down
  • Queen Grow
  • Rip Queen Elizabeth
  • Elizabeth II
  • Queen Inu

Apart from this NFTs too have striked the market. For now few tokens have gained $200000+ trading volume.

This happens every time a world event or phenomenal happens.  Remember squid game coin?  Scam.  That's all these things are.  Just know that if you stick money into these things you will end up losing it most likely.  It amazes me that no one learns to steer clear of these.

Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.

Well that's a very basic question and of course it's happened before.  The real question would be for everyone who put in $100 how many lost it versus how many made $7000.  I would tell most will end up losing their money first before hit a 70X er.  Word of advise look for nominal gains and if you end up hitting a big one consider yourself luck.  Good luck navigating the world of altcoins Smiley
